Just got done with a 6 hour gears 2 multiplayer spree. Played with a bunch of cags all night which was a blast. I cannot agree with this. At least not with CoD4 in the same sentence.
My opinion is tainted by the fact that I was trying to get a large amount of the single player achievements in my run through and the game fuct me out of most of them, I can say it probably compares favorably to halo 3. But I hated Halo 3 too. ;)

I don't have the case right now, but I can have it by the weekend so it'd be comlpete and mint

Last I checked, it was going for $75 on eBay and $70 on Amazon.com. So after fees, I'd end up with close to the $58 I'd get in GS credit, and I wouldn't have to bother with sending for the case/manual

I'm compulsive about the need to collect everything. I died and had to restart the 3rd area because I couldn't manage to get the timing right for getting the pushblock jump past the ghost. :\ It really bothers me I can't get the coop ones when I'm playing single player. :(

That's where I'm stuck! Those ghosts suck ass! My girlfriend beat it no problem while I was sleeping. She then proceeded to wake me up every time she was at a two player part. But I have a feeling you could "potentially" do those parts if you fire up a second controller and just like play octopus with your hands and feet or something.

I really can't wait to give the level creator a whirl. And do you know if you can export pictures you've taken in game for stickers?

I know you can use your in game pics for avatars... makes sense you could use them as stickers, but you'd be better to ask someone who has more experience with the creator... i just ran through the tutorials to get the items they unlock... though the explosives/rockets/danger tutorials were fun. And while frustrating, the creature tutorial got me a trophy. :)

I had no problems with the ghosts... it was just the stuff on the upper ledge to the left -- I wanted it so bad and would get distracted trying to figure out the timing/rhythm to jumping with the double block to get up there... then the ghost would be like... There's an unbelievable amount of stuff to do and good/neutral/evil all have an effect on what you can/can't do, who helps you/tries to kill you.

Seriously, replay shouldn't be your concern with the game. I've put like 30 hours into it and have barely done the main quests.

my only caveat is that if you don't like running around, exploring, and looting, then you're going to hate the game, 'cause that's half the fun. If you do like that, then great, because it has the most interesting open world of any game I've ever played.

This week's Famitsu reveals even more new playable mobile suits in Gundam Musou 2 (DW: Gundam 2)! This time, they are introducing some rival units. The new playables are YMS-15 Gyan from Mobile Suit Gundam, ZMT-S33S Gottrlatan from Mobile Suit Victory Gundam, and CONCEPT-X 6-1-2 Turn X from Turn A Gundam.
I hate the Gyan. The Zekes got a bit too wacky with the mobile suits at times. Don't even get me started on the Zackarello... Nice to see some V Gundam suits in there though.

The first episode wasn't supposed to be the first. It was supposed to be like the 7th. Bandai forced Tomino to make it the first because they wanted the new mobile suits introduced as quickly as possible so they could sell more toys...

Give it more of a shot because V Gundam is quite good. It's not on the same level as the original or Zeta, but it's up there.

Yes, they can join you at any time. They'll take over the A.I.

I gave the level creator in LBP a whirl. It seems very complex. But I think it's just because I'm not sure what everything does yet. I've watched most of the training videos and feel like with a little time I'll have something halfway decent to play with. But I think the first level I work on is going to just be a tweak of a template they give.

Gears 2 horde is amazing with all my friends.

Left 4 Dead demo is also amazing. I wish custom button layout meant that you could actually assign buttons though for the 360 version and not just four different pre-made configs that are basically the same thing. I doubt I'm day one on it based solely on the fact of how good a game Gears 2 is plus I have Madden/NHL 09, and none of my friends will get it so while playing with strangers is fun I won't need to rush to play with my buds.

So in my journey of playing with the level creator in LBP, I've put about 2 hours in to a level(count tutorials) and I'd consider the level 1/8th of the way done. All I'm doing is tweaking the garden level to make it more or less original as a way to mess with the tools and stuff. When it's finished, would anyone care to give it a go?

And if any of you have levels up for download, I'd love to give them a try.

I gave the Darkness demo a try. The first part of the demo was wicked neat. It has a lot of cool ideas. But then when it throws you to like... level 7 or something, I feel like I bit off more than I could chew. I feel like it just throws too much at you. I'm sure if I went from level 1 to level 7 while playing 2-6, I wouldn't have felt so overwhelmed. But as it stands, I don't think I'll pick this one up. Which sucks to think about. With it's current price point (cheap as shit), I could have almost justified it.

Other than that, I played a bit more LBP tonight. I didn't mess with my level though. No patience for that tonight. I spent a long time painting my Warhammer army. 3 figures left and I'll be ready for a tourny I'm going to this weekend.

From what I hear, everyone says The Darkness is worth the $8 or so it will cost you. I hated the graveyard level, it just felt wrong. But as a fan of the comic when it first started, I thought it was wicked cool to control The Darkness in the later levels. I figure at $8, I can't go wrong.

The races (Time Trial) is pretty fun. It seems like there are lots of ways to get faster times, so that could get a lot of interest from me.

Vice city was GTA 3 v1.5. Just like SR2 is SR 1.5 (an SR was GTA:SA 1.5...).
The only real jumps in the series were going from GTA:VC to GTA:SA and from GTA:SA to GTA4.
While GTA4's driving was no fun and felt like a chore... once you got used to it, the game was pretty great. The morality and choices never panned out in the epic way they hyped it to, but it did feel like the next generation of GTA, a true successor to the crown.

my favorite pre GTAIV GTA game probably stands as Liberty City Stories. People love vice city I think due to nostalgia. thank the soundtrack. Liberty City was always the right size IMHO, even in GTAIV. San Andreas and Vice City never felt like they melded well with the gameplay.

Well I understand that GTAIV is the next generation for the sandbox genre. The driving seemed like something that could have been an acquired taste over time, but I feel as though it would set a bad habit for actual driving games. If that makes any sense out of my mind. But again, I agree that it is a massive leap from the GTA I know, love, and prefer. Perhaps, in my "I fear change" world, they made too much of a leap. But at the end of the day it is a solid game, there really isn't any denying that. I think I'm just stuck on the over hyped nature of the beast. I think my expectations were too high. (A) there's plenty to do, it's just debatable as to whether some of it is fun. after i finished the game, I hasn't done any dating (still haven't), but I still had all the friend side missions (delivering packages, races, etc.), and stuff like the cop vigilante stuff.
(B) While the game was going for the "realistic" feel of driving, I think they missed their aim... the cars felt different, like they had weight, but it also felt like a chore to drive most of them.
(C)While they were at it, my M16/AK47 shouldn't have taken that many shots to drop someone, if they were going for the realism. ;)

I agree that GTAIV lacked stuff to do after the main story, but I kind of expected that. Since most time was spent actually making the entirely new game working, less time was focused on the extras (note: the same with GTAIII if you recall... except not as harsh). This is something all games have with their "firsts" in a series. Content is almost always more beefy in sequils.

Gears 1 to Gears 2 is a good example of that.

in terms of driving, each car has more of a learning curve. I can drive pretty damn good now in the game. A shitty car drives shitty and a nice car drives nice.

Sony has been awful stubborn in dropping the price of the PSP. They've been all up on the bundle/color/revision bandwagon and it seems to have worked out well for them.

Then again, the PS2 is still freaking $129 new.

I'm gonna be waiting forever for that $99 PSP.

as for the game hate: my opinion isn't the end of the world. I can enjoi or hate something such as you. I'm just saying my end of the pillow.
