I tried that PSP thing that lets you play it on PC. I think you can use a Dual Shock or other controller too. That's pretty cool. Playing PSP games from the memory stick on PC with a 360 controller. Mana would have a heart attack.

Those are great. I've had them for about 2 years and love them. Comfortable and sound great, lots of reviews say they sound better than many head phones that cost over $100. Of course these are $60 headphones (see the MSRP on your link), Amazon just has them on sale often.

Bah, since my 360 is gone I've been living off older games, but now my GameCube decides to not work either.

I keep getting "An error has occurred. Turn the power off..." at random all over the place. I'm guessing this is a hardware problem since it happens in multiple games. Why would it suddenly screw up for no apparent reason? I hardly ever use it to begin with, unless it just feels neglected.

Okay, Dracula was way too fucking easy. I decided to equip the Sun Ring and Death Ring and then use the glyphs Melio Hasta, Nitesco, and Dominus Agony.

What could've turned into a thirty to forty minute boss fight ended up lasting exactly ten seconds, even got the Dracula medal for no damage.

Aria of Sorrow was really good...almost forgot about it actually. I didn't care for DoS too much though. Then again, maybe it is time to actually go back and play it again. The last time I played it I was much younger, things do change as you age. :D

I understand man, one reason I actually liked it was that some of the levels played out like some of the more old-school entries in the series. That's not going to be everybody's cup of tea though. :P

And I agree, I didn't give a damn about the villager quests. A lot of it is based on luck in collecting the goods that you need to actually go forward in the game. I could probably finished the game days ago if it wasn't for those damned fetch quests.

Yes, I'm using it on the original PSP. You need a custom firmware on your PSP though. I haven't used a pad yet, but I'm going to try my 360 controller today.

Gave Castlevania OoE another play, I'm going to put it on Goozex. Just not my cup of tea with all the fetch quests and the bosses being to hard for my tastes since I have no fun with pattern memorization any more.

Have The World Ends With You coming from Goozex, would rather just move on to that than forcing myself to play something I'm not digging. Plus OoE is first in line so it should get matched up today or tomorrow--which is good as Monday is the only day I'll likely have time to make it to the post office this week.

Well, I completed the main quest in Fallout 3 after some patience. Liberty Prime finally got unstuck and moved forward. His ass got stuck again near the end. The ending wasn't as bad as everyone said.

Overall, it's great. I really enjoyed it. Took me 24 hours, 50 minutes to finish it. So I've got more to do and see.

Time to do some more roaming. :)

Yeah, definitely. I did some roaming already, mostly killing super mutants and looking for equipment. My friend is at 45 hours and he's still working on the main quest. If you just go straight for the main quest, it's not that long. I did for the last half of it or so.

Is it like Oblivion where you're kind of better of polishing off the main quest first? In Oblivion it was better as then all the Oblivion gates are gone, so there's not random demons running around etc., so it was easier to focus on the guilds etc. Plus you get pretty decent armor as a reward for completing the main quest.

Verdict of this Trip to Puerto Rico :

- Food is amazing, but will make you fat in no time
- Everywhere I go I see women that are/look like pornstars. I'm not kidding when I say all you see when outside there is female flesh and very nice ass more abundant than water.
- MILF Latinas everywhere

so what did I learn? Puerto Ricans have great food and asses.

also, I'm pretty far in Suikoden since I've been playing it evey night in Puerto Rico... damn. Is it just me or did RPGs during the PS1 era kill off more support/main characters than nowadays?

Finished the Mage's Guild quest to get my 1000 achievement points in Oblivion. Tried to clear some random quests out of my log, but the were annoying fetch quests so I'm not going to bother. Will have the expansion next week and play Knights of the Nine then do Shivering Isle to get the other 250 achievement points.

First game I've gotten 1000 on. I have to say it really did achievements right for this type of game by just requiring you to beat the game and all the main side quest lines. No nonsense like Mass Effect where you'd have to play through several times to get them all with the silly Ally, weapon/spell achievements etc.

I don't care about gamerscore in general, but when achievements are tied to quest lines like this it was definitely a little extra incentive to do them all. But I've never had motivation to try for the very specific ones in Mass Effect and most other games.

SW:TFU can be frustrating to the point of controller-throwing. There are moments when you'll get stuck in a never-ending series of enemy hits that you can't break or reverse out of, sort of but not quite like what happens in Lost Colonies. Then there are also some bizarre graphical bugs where your avatar will completely disappear, and some just sloppy design choices overall. Really too bad, 'cause when the game clicks, it's fun as hell.

I'm thinking of dumping this game. :/

If I lived in Miami, I'd be in Puerto Rico all the time.

I have tons of family there. My uncle owns an airline with a fleet of jets that specializes in charter flights to and from Miami and San Juan. He's pretty loaded, so he lets my family stay in one of his many homes when we go. Beautiful place, you can easily drink when you're underage (was a big plus for me when I was underage) and they server liquor 24/7, not to mention the beautiful ladies.

The only negative is that it's the most humid place I've ever been in all my life, and that tropical bugs scare the shit out of me.

I agree with your take on NMH too. It's imperfect, but now that I'm past its problems, it's a really great game. My biggest gripes are the level design (the levels seem to get shorter and simpler) and of course, the money grind. Can't wait for the sequel!

Dumping the game is something you probably won't regret. I played up to the Star Destroyer part and said fuck it after trying to pull that damn thing down for three hours. It's a wicked neat game. A lot of good ideas present. But poor execution really hinders the games over all enjoyment factor.

These sanwa buttons are just amazing, and the stick is so precise. Going to be playing a lot more Super Turbo now. I can do Chun's super reliably too.. that's a bitch on a D-Pad.

Thanks Crotch. Looks good. I was really hoping the HD mod would be done so that the game would look a little more modern, but guess that'll have to wait for my next playthru. Some of the changes in the Shifter mod look interesting, mainly the weapons and stuff.

This is the way I've been going. This is the most time I've ever put in to a DQ game and I'm really enjoying it. But damnit, CT is goddamn notorious for being good that it's teasing me.

Oh well... I guess I'll go with DQ until I feel like it's truly time for a break or if I feel like I'm done with it. Because I feel like CT will consume me....

it's really hard to say you'd like it.

The story is one of the most complex I've ever come across in any medium in my life other than in books. Most people say it's batshit crazy, but it's just layer upon layer of so many forms of information.

At the same time it's also not the most user friendly in terms of gameplay. If you do get it, get it on Gamecube... I played it on a HDD on my PS2 because the loading was a pain, but the gamecube one seems to be the better.

it's cheap so do what you want.


Also in terms of TWEWY, like Persona 3/4, this is the wrong thread to ask if it's good or not :lol:

The loading is still a bit of a pain but not as bad on the HDD when comparing to the GC version. The only thing bad about playing on an HDD is that the dates your save files get registered as get crazy wonky, but it won't break or mess anything up.

It actually dosn't read that far. It's all based off factual notations of the development of the game. There was a book released with all the information about making the game that most of the info was based off of (translated).

I normally would agree with you but the FAQ stands strong due to its multiple viewpoints as well as factual backups.

Man, wish I'd found the thread in the Goozex forums about PayPal Shipping sooner. You can buy and print first class USPS labels on there. On the USPS site you can only do Priority and Express Mail. On top of that the delivery confirmation is only 18 cents vs the 60 or 75 at the post office.

I don't care so much about the cost, just the convenience of not having to make it to the post office during business hours and wait in the long lines around here (took me 35 minutes last time to mail a game a couple weeks ago). Now I can just print it out and throw it in the mail at work.

Yes, bought a used/refurbed PS3 from Gamestop on Friday.

In less than 48 hours the drive died in the middle of TDK :br:.

I figured a used PS3 was a safer bet than a used 360. But my 360 refurb still works just fine after 2 months.



Now I gotta decide to drive 150 miles roundtrip to the GS stores near me for an exchange, or just return it and get it from their website.

I called sony yesterday, and told the guy about the dead drive, he asked for my info and told me they were going to send out a box and to check for an e-mail with the intructions on what to do. He did not say anything about being charged anything.

I did tell him that I replaced the 40gb HDD with a 160gb HDD, he told me to be sure to send the 40gb HDD, because they will just send back a 40gb HDD. The problem is that after I replaced the 40gb HDD, it quit working.
I told the guy and he still wanted me to include it. I just hope it wont mess up anything, as far as my 160 gb working on the system when it comes back.

The NMH bosses were fun. Every time they do something annoying, there's a solution. like bad girl launching gimps at you, you can bat them back (or make sure she gets caught when you do a finishing move on one.) Or if all else fails, the dark step is always an option. The game has a surprising amount of depth.

Got the Shivering Isle Expansion and installed it. Going to get started on Knights of the Nine, but just for 30 mins to an hour as I have to get up early all this week. Won't be able to get into it much until after Saturday, then can play a bit through the next Friday and then I'll be out of own for work for a week. Just got started on the Knights of the Nine quests, found enough of the Wayshrines that I had my vision and went and found the shrine for the next quest and saved in the first room.

That's a damn fun quest. I found that I needed to slide my difficulty bar down towards the middle/end of it though. But once you get the knights' armor, remember that you need to be "good" or else the gods decide that you aren't worthy of the armor and you can't wear it any more. I think if you repent at a shrine, you'll be okay. I'm not sure if that's truly spoiler worthy, but still good info to know ;)

I'm almost at the halfway point of DQIV. Which is great news because I'm really, really dying for Chrono Trigger. And I hope to put a few hours in to Fallout 3 tomorrow.

I swear next time, I buy another system"next-gen" I'm buying a warranty. I've had issues or something happen almost all of my systems since the ps1.

That sucks. The only systems I've ever had a problem with was my Gamecube (DRE) and...that's pretty much it. My 360 started having frequent freeze's before I sold it, but it still worked.

And I think I had a revelation about my copy of Oblivion. I've got it on PS3, it's the normal case, and I believe normal disc, but I have access to the Knights of Nine quest. I bought it used at GS, could they have thrown in a GOTY disc by mistake? Or was KoN included on the disc for the PS3 release?

How do you guys feel about gaming manuals on the decline? Seriously, I remember when manuals were jam packed full of back story, color content , artwork and they explained the game in full....

Nowadays most manuals are like 5 pages and are in black and white.

I've been playing with the difficulty 2 or 3 clicks to the left of middle the whole time, so I should be fine. The combat sucks, so I'm not playing for challenge, just want to explore and do quests with no frustration. Has been the ultimate "veg out" game for sure. Easy to lose hours a session.

That's good that you've tweaked your difficulty. I forgot that it gets tougher if you do well, so I got stuck in a dungeon full of spell casters on the KoN quest and I got pissed to an extreme degree. Then I realized my bar was like clicked just about half way through.

But yeah, running around, exploring, and breaking into houses is a good time. Combat is a bit dull, but I'll be damned if it isn't fun when you want to mix up the exploring and robbing.

So in Chrono Trigger I just beat Magus for the first about 9 hours into the game. I don't know, CT's really good, but it hasn't grabbed me yet. Usually a JRPG grabs me about 1/3 of the way through the game, and at that point, I want to play it for 3-4 hours at a time. I can't play this for an hour without turning it off at this juncture. How long do I go before it grabs me?

you probably should already be grabbed. if you're not grabbed by the time you reach zeal, there's definitely no hope, but you've got a bit before you get there.
