SoT is better, but TT is still a good game. Unlike WW which is just terrible.

Dithered smoke effects, cheap blur effect makes the textures on anything but the gun look muddy, no motion object blur on the gun, dithered spark when the gun is fired, gun is off center to the left, tiny gif size makes it look much more action packed than the scene really is.

Overall, I give that gif a 2/10 or 1/10 when compared to Crysis running on minimum at 640x480

Nah, I don't care for racing games. I played the Motorstorm demo, and it was entertaining, but it's not for me.

I just got Wipeout HD, so that would serve me well.

Agreed. Mario Kart Wii was pure fucking trash. F Zero GX, now that's a racer. Still awesome, play that shit in 480p widescreen and it looks better than pretty much any Wii game.

since then I've owned like 3 copies of Mario Kart Wii and never liked it enough to justify keeping it with the insane demand/prices it commands.

It was really fun from what I played, though. The online works really well and is smoother than some 360 games for just pure "pair me up with people and race" stuff. Good for zoning out with.

Even most anti-Warrior Within people agree witht his. And I have no godly idea why. Yes they added a whole bunch of moves but 90% of them are fucking useless. Tapping out some combo is either going to get my ass beat down when I start flailing away at an enemy that's no longer there or kill someone slightly faster than jumping over them and slicing them up (a very safe and pretty much always usable option) would.

I really like Mario Kart Double and Dash and Mario Kart Wii is pretty good. I liked two player racing on the same kart but the new tracks for the Wii are very tight.

For the first time in about a month I played a game more than once in a day. And that game is Tomb Raider Underworld. Seriously, that game has me in its' claws. The puzzles are quite interesting, kind of like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time since there aren't a lot of them, but they're big and central to the gameplay. I'm really liking, especially for $40.

Although, it's not without its' flaws. It's kinda touchy with some of its' gameplay, and the camera is bad in some places, but very rarely will it result in you dying.

I can't get the Crowned cheesement in L4D. I snipe the witch, but she won't die from it. Also can't get the um... spinal something... you sneak up behind a guy and melee him to kill him. Can Zoe do this or is she too weak?

None of the characters have stats.

You can only get a headshot on the witch once she knows you're there (she'll slowly turn her head and look at you, that's when you shoot). Sniping from afar won't work.

Take a shotgun with you and sneak up behind her.

As she gets up and turns around aim towards her neck area and fire.

Bam you'll get the achievement.

You have to sneak up on them, directly behind them. You should be able to take your time. You pretty much have to find a lone zombie. One shotgun melee will do the trick.

Cool. I prefer the rifles, but she's near quite a few weapon stashes, so i can swap the shotgun out.

edit: ugh, again with the shotgun!??! grr. Okay, thanks. I had a guy leaning against a wall earlier for crying out loud... it couldn't have been any easier. Took my time, I was like, "Jaeli, you shoot this guy and I'll hurt you." And he still wouldn't drop. I'll try it with the shotgun. I use the handguns through most of the game. I never even thought of what firearm was equipped. :dunce:

it's pretty much always been at $100 but that's usually if you buy a decent full set. It's not cheap if you get the high end equipment. I spent an entire year in high school to save up for a decent full set of equipment. It paid off very well. I'm still using alot of my original parts from that nice set.

I remember it still... Foundation Deck, Swiss Bearings, Tensor trucks, ricta wheels... not the standard stuff. it was like butter on a woman's breast. smoothest ride and easiest thing to ollie n the world. I miss the deck :(

I've been playing some more Tomb Raider Underworld. I like this game. It's like...when I'm not playing it, I want to play more of it. But it's not up there with elite titles where I play almost constantly for 2 weeks straight, either. I'd say more people should give it a try. It's definitely worth a rental, and IMO, the $40 I paid for it, and I'm about halfway done.

I've also been playing more Valkyria Chronicles, which I really like, but not as much as Tomb Raider. I'm also about to go into a hard battle, so I'm cautious right now. I've also kinda been unable to continue playing Chrono Trigger daily as well lately. It's just that old-school JRPG problem where at points you get stuck and you don't know where to go. I guess I'm going to have consult a guide just to see where I go next. But other than that, it's great.

And I'm still continuing to Trophy gouge GTAIV, but I've only played 3 hours of that and I have 1/8th of the missions done already.

I used to skate back in the day. Had the ollie down pretty well. Could jump over stuff a bit over knee high, and down small stairs (2-5 steps). Had 180s down pretty good. Never did get kickflips, heel flips and other technical tricks down.

That reminds me of the movie Starship Troopers. This guy who you might call a movie enthusiast that has all this classy shit also has this movie. He says if you read all these novels it actually gives you a different perspective on the movie. I said that thats an awful lot of prep work for a bad movie.

It does that on purpose to limit your view to make you more nervous while playing, it also let's you see the gorgeous graphics. :drool:

woah. pretty cool indeed. It's shame there really appears to be a lot of depth to the story (the downloadable comics, video, little things like that, etc. - and is there a novel, or am I making things up?), but so very little of it appears in the game. But, hey, I'm not a huge fan of the Resident Evil storyline, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying those games.

You know, let me add a caveat. It's a relatively short game (8-12 hours per playthrough), and a solo-only experience. I'm trying (trying!) to play through the game on impossible difficulty. Paying attention to the story now, there's a lot of "oh, son of a BITCH I should have seen this or that all along!" kinds of clarity and revelation. So there is a story a good clip deeper than what you really pick up on the first playthrough. Which is cool, but an interesting design choice - really only allowing those who really get into the game to explore the story fully. It's not a forgiving title for the 'playthrough once and sell' crowd.

All in all, I thought it was a very solid game, especially for a new IP.

I agree, beat it last week and it was well worth the price of $10 (even if it did come with a $10 gift card ;)). My personal favorite ds game of 2008, mainly because I'm no fan of rpgs 8-[.

As for Ninja Gaiden 2, pass it up Rolento. It seems like a good deal but unless you're of the type that has fun getting your ass kicked in a game. :hot:

Dead Space was thoroughly excellent and I didn't even notice there was no 180 turn button. Probably because it wasn't necessary.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is worth $10, but the difficulty is a lot harder than the original. It's not tough but fair, mainly because of the camera. If it weren't for the regenerating health, it'd be unbearable, even at its' lowest difficulty.

This is what you'll get with NG2:

Warrior mode (normal mode) is easier than NG 1. The AI simply isn't as good, the weapons level up very quickly (you can have a fully powered Dragon Sword by the 2nd or 3rd level), and you'll have essentially unlimited money half way through the game. It's more based on packs of enemies. It's like if NG1 was a little more Dynasty Warriors-ish (lots of enemies who die quickly, but keep coming in droves and they eat tons of hits.) As a fighting game person, you'll quickly find the safe moves and blow through the game. That said, it is entertaining 'cause it's so darn gory and there are shitloads of weapons. Easily worth the $10 for that alone.

Mentor and Master Ninja are another story. Not fair by any stretch of the word. The AI is about the same as Warrior, but instead, every group of enemies has a sub group of projectile throwers with it--they tag you every time and kill you quickly. It's artificial difficulty in the worst sense of the word. Getting through it is not a matter of skill, but a matter of abusing a very, very narrow set of moves.
