I just changed my sig/avatar a day early since I will not be around much of tomorrow. I badly wanted to change it because this might be one of my favorite sig/avatar combos for the year (Only thing I see topping it is Uncharted 2 or the new R&C game, two other beyond huge games to me). Let's just say I'm beyond hyped for Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Not just because of images, but because Star Ocean is one of my top 5 favorite RPG series my hype level goes through the roof when a new installment comes (ports/remakes of games don't really hype me much unless I never played it). The 5 RPGs that do it for me are (they are series where I've at least beat one or every one in):
Final Fantasy Main series (although there hasn't been a great one for me since X, it's still major) - 200+ hours in series
Xenosaga/Xenogears (so sad I will never see another, but completed all) - 160+ hours
Kingdom Hearts series (I just love them too much, although I beat them quick) - 65+ hours
Grandia series (Love all including III and Xtreme) - 130+ hours
Star Ocean series (Absolutely loved the 3rd. Like all) - 70+ hours


Once I play through Chain of Memories PS2 (if the game was on a next gen console, I'd beat it right away), my KH time will bump up. Once I beat both Star Ocean games on PSP (along with buying 2nd Evolution) and TLH on 360, that will bump me over 100 hours into Star Ocean.

I also love Wild Arms, Tales, Suikoden, etc. series, those 5 are just the closest to my heart and beyond hyped whenever a new installment comes. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get Star Ocean 4 until Friday on the week it releases (due to transportation issues. Yes I have a license, but my Dad steals my car the entire day).

There are a LOT of seeds in between the areas.

I have a bit of OCD, so when I see somewhat easy to get seeds, I usually would grab them. Only warp once you've ran between sections once...
I warped early on... and then it I figured out why I needed to collect seeds -- cause there were a lot in between the areas I was warping between... so check those -- most of them aren't hard to do and you can collect 50 seeds in less than 10 minutes probably.

I didn't realize 3 had EX moves -- my bad. I've only played 3rd strike a handful of times -- and not really more than just using Ken and checking it out off the 25th Anniversary Collection...b

I wouldn't really call ultras new -- they're just a different version of a super, really. Sure, they charge a different way (damage taken vs. damage inflicted) and you use a couple extra buttons when you do the motion, but it's not all that different from a super in practicality.

While the idea of taking damage and stunning someone is different and has potential, I just can't get into the system. I suppose I should see if there's anything in the tutorial so I can be more informed on their uses, but I still can't see it fitting into the way I play.

Hell yeah, me too, but I had a Genesis when I got my SNES, which was for Super Mario World, Final Fight, and Final Fantasy IV. I was a rabid SF2 fan though, I wanted it on SNES so badly after playing it in arcades and reading about it a ton. Days before the internet = crazy.

And I love how they dupe you into thinking it won't be bad by giving you a free round against him. Then he "powers up" or some shit. Dude teleports 67 times a minute, lands right next to you, you try to block as a reaction, you're getting spinning piledriven into the floor. you try to jump away, he laughs, teleports, and does a combo with his hurricane kick equivalent. you try to jump in, he dragon punches you. the only reason i was able to finish his ass off on medium was because he somehow allowed me to get the jumping roundhouse, duck roundhouse, rinse & repeat going.

Dude is the cheapest fighting game boss I've fought in forever. Worse than Jinpachi for sure... I mean, at least you could sidestep his shit and he didn't block *everything*.

I don't have the big of a problem with his vortex, as I'm usually far enough away that he can't hit me with it and I just use the opportunity to trip him... My problem with trying to jump away from the asshole is his instant dragon punch 5 hit combo ex move or whatever it is... I try to block, he grapples, I try to jump away, I get hit with the dragon punch of doom. And his damn special/ultra gauges fill way too fast for the amount of damage I'm NOT doing to him. :-?

I've been playing Spider-man: Web of Shadows since I picked it up. It's far from a perfect game but it's fun enough. The only thing that really gets on my nerves is the voice acting in the game...

I started flower last night and didn't stop playing til I beat it. Great "game". I like it more than flow.

I finally started it around 4 am and was only going to play one level.
Finished it and fell in love.

One of the few games where I think, "this is new".
And the motion controls beat nearly everything on the Wii as far as feeling natrual and responsive. They worked so great with this game.

Do HRAPs have quick connects? I'd love to change the buttons out on my EX2, but I don't feel like learning how to solder.

I did this for work too, and kept it at home, site is much cleaner.

I find that I need people's avatars to associate posts with them (and to help me pick out the posts I normally want to read). I had sigs off until the 372nd appearance of the bad moderation team and needed to turn them on to help the report brigade formed by jerk-off #1 and jerk-off #2. Inadvertently, I made a different with my "THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK" signature, as within a day or so of it's appearance, the line limit on signature code was imposed. :-#

I tried the Waffle Breakfast sandwich at Dunkin Donuts today. It was pretty tasty. Though ham would be a better choice than bacon. Sort of staying with the fluffy textures.

I picked up some Genesis collection for my PSP yesterday. I played Shinobi III or Ninja Gaiden 3 or whatever. It was pretty neat. Then I played some Cops and Robbers game. Also wicked neat. I just wish Toe Jam and Earl was on the disc.... Then I popped in Warhammer 40k Squad Command. That's a good time. Reminds me of General Chaos, another excellent game that should have been included on the Genesis collection UMD.

Oh please, for PS3 owners they can be skeptical (Saturn pad), but it's the best 360 owners are gonna get for a pad.

Having said that, it makes it sound like a bad thing but having it compared to a Saturn pad is definitely an honor. I love the FightPad, it's a great controller.

After doing some searching on different forums, it seems fairly simple to replace it myself. I already took it apart to try to clean the laser(which didn't work).

This ebay store had good feedback, was not from China, Hong Kong, and sells (based on the pics) "brown clip" when compared to a white clip(bootleg) which is known to die after a few hours of use.

I asked for overnight shipping. I should have had it already, but the shipment was delayed because of some bad lasers in the batch and the seller had to wait for different stock.
A fully functional PS3 will make my B-day(tomorrow) an even better one!

All of mine except the Wii are horizontal. I was thinking because the PS3 has vents on the top/side that it might vent better standing up, since heat rises to the top. Would it even make any difference?

I was going to raise up my shelves on my entertainment stand so I can stand up the PS3, fat PS2 W/stand, and the Wii W/stand all next to each other.

Still slowly working my way thru Xenosaga 3 and loving it. Wow, what an excellent RPG it has been so far. The dungeons and puzzles are a little boring (I actually liked Xeno 2's puzzles better) but the story has really become epic. I hope to have this game finished in the next week or so, because as much as I'm loving it, I'm getting ready to move on.

It is interesting to read some of the SFIV reviews coming in. I probably won't be getting the game for awhile (sorry, just never been a big fighter fan like some of the GGT) but it looks excellent, and most of the reviews are positive. Except the one that said:

Almost at the 10 hour mark in Chrono Trigger. I'm really liking how I need to hop around the different ages. Though I don't like that I can only have 3 party members. And I'm not sure I'm going to like the monster battle dimension. Is it necessary for story progression?

Since you're not much of a fighter afficianado I can understand ... to an extent. You should probably play more of it and try the training/challenge modes.

HRAP EX doesn't have a common ground PCB. So no dual mods without replacing the PCB with a common ground one. I knew this going in, and I don't care. 360/PC stick is good enough for me.

I've got my Sanwa modded Namco for PS2/everything else with adapters. :)

You needn't worry about Yakuza 3 coming over to the US. Sony needs all the exclusives that they can get over here, and I'm sure they'd even be willing to foot the bill themselves for a translation. A console price drop and a handful more exclusives would really go a long way to making a good holiday season for Sony later this year.

I think it is pretty cool as well to see all of the hype for the game,the game seems like it's meeting or even exceeding people's expectations.

It's a series that I've grown up with and the one fighter that I have even attempted to play and get good at. I will admit, it would be really neat to see the series come full circle in mainstream popularity.

I think my problem with the game stems from the use of the 3D models and the "2.5-D gameplay". It doesn't feel quite right to me. Hating the graphics style and the new characters doesn't help either. ;)

There's apparently a "3-way switch" on them somewhere that tells the 360 what input to accept the dpad as. (Left analog, right analog, or dpad.)

Nah, taste doesn't go downhill when you hit 30. You'll see it stays the same and you just don't like new music etc. as much and still prefer to listen to the bands you listened to through your teens-early twenties. I still mainly listen to mid 90s bands.

Hell yeah. I listen to a bunch of music dating back to 60's up until late 90's. New music sucks ass.

Speaking of new music, my friend and I will be jamming tomorrow night with some dudes we know, and our tastes will definitely clash. My friend and I like to rock out, bring the noise, bring the funk, etc., while they seem intent on writing songs that you can relate to. :roll: We want to have a good time, they want to reflect on the past. Still, maybe something good will come of it.
