There's plenty of games on SFIIHDR so I can only imagine it's popular on PSN for IV.

I entered the SFIV tourney at Gamestop because, well, it's 2 mins away, and I had time.
It was the first time I had ever played it and we had to play with the 360 controller and default button layout.

Holy crap, out of 30 peeps, I came in third and got this giant boxart thing.
Haha, after the first round I googled "focus attacks" because I had no idea what they were. I did use it a few times.
Pretty nice, I don't like how Ken looks, but everyone else looks cool.

I may pick it up sooner than I thought.

Since I'm too broke to afford SFIV for 360 and the fight pads are sold out anyway, my girlfriend and I went down to Arcade UFO. Had a pretty good run going on the SFIV machine as Guile, but some asshole Sagat repeatedly whooped my ass.

They also apparently got a BlazBlue machine, which is really awesome. It has a very fun gameplay system, and I almost beat the whole game on my first try! Hope it comes out on 360 on these shores so I can use my fight pad with it eventually. :D

$6 for two hours of arcade bliss > $90 for home fighting bliss ;)

Look on your mini-map, there should be a Burning Route icon that stands out against the rest. It will get bigger and more solid the closer you get to it.

Played more SFIV last night. Also more Yakuza 2...so good. And tried out the BP new car pack. Is it me, or are the Legendary cars actually harder to use than the regular cars? I used the Knight Rider car in Road Rage and did like half as well as I usually do--and that car has the highest strength and speed?!?

I might play more Fallout 3 tonight after continuing my slow progression of unlocking all the characters in SFIV.

the reason why I play even the shitty GTAs all the way through is because of the superb humor. It's a series that gets credit for alot of other things, but it does some of the best low ball comedy in gaming ever.

if you want an easy GTA to beat, get the new DLC for IV... I'm a bit way through but I hear it's not long at all.

I liked Braid , but considering I still haven't beat/finished it , I kinda wished I would've waited for this deal.

I know that that's supposed to be an area that you fill in, but with The Elder Scrolls, it's just... it's not there. Revan? I felt a character. The Nameless One? There's a character there. The Vault Dweller? Okay, not as good as TNO, but still, by the end of it, you get a sense of his personality. Fuck, mute ol' Gordon Freeman (not a WRPG character, I know, but fuck you you made me interrupt the flow of this sentence) has ten times the personality of generic Bethesda hero #19.

Same reason I can't play Icewind Dale, and I think that's my main problem with Neverwinter Nights. It's like I'm playing the unholy offspring of Jerry Jenkins and Stephenie Meyer. His interactions with and the responses of the other characters - the few strong, well developed characters of Half-Life 2 as opposed to the ten billion cookie-cutter creations you see in, say, Morrowind - give him more personality than any Bethesda lead I've ever seen.

EDIT: Though I'll admit that he was more-or-less a completely blank slate throughout all of the first game. Which makes for some pretty damn good machinima (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=search_videos&search_query=freeman%27s+mind&search_sort=relevance&search_category=0&page=).

Haven't seen anything about it yet but I loved the OG Lost Planet. It was way underrated. Especially the multiplayer. Bionic arm, mechs, exploding frisbees! What more could a person want?

damn, I think I posted something about not getting anymore retail games until I finish GTAIV. Well, landed SCIV today for $14.99 at Target, and ended up snagging Persona 4, Yakuza 2, and Chrono Cross from amazon. Considering price matching Left 4 Dead at Sears to get it for about $37.99, but it'll probably be cheaper by the time I get around to playing it.


I'm hesitant about Lost Planet 2. Loved the demo for LP 1, then didn't like the game. Then I got Colonies and really loved it for a few days, then just stopped caring to play any more of it.

Some of them are hard (pretty much all the Challenge Mode-related trophies), but the other trophies came pretty quickly. I got the 1000 medals trophy after 4 days of playing, and the 200 games soon afterwards.

Yeah, but there's a lot of mini-games and diversions (bar girls!), too. You don't have to plow through the story if you don't want to.

What's the point of the 'controller' and 'arcade stick' option under button config?

At first I thought it meant I could have two seperate configs whenever I chose either option, which is really cool as I wouldn't have to reconfig each time.

But the custom config stayed the same no matter which option I chose.

I couldn't get into Oblivion, but I think that's because I felt the level system, among other things, was broken. It was fun to play initially, though.

Speaking of Fallout 3, I'm really racing to the finish now. I think I'm on the last quest of the main story now, but just need to make sure I finish the side quests I wanted to and explore a little more.

I also unlocked Akuma last night. God I'm horrible at SFIV. It's fun, though.

protip: some of you probably need to practice your counters to specific characters moves? Well step right up!

you can go to the training mode and control the dummy. you can then "record" any moves you do while controlling the dummy, then press play and resume control of your character. the "playback" will loop!

So if you want to practice countering shoryuken's, you can simply go to training...pick your character...pick Ken/Ryu/whoever...take control of Ken/Ryu and throw a fireball while recording...then select "play" and resume using your character. he will throw that fireball until you disable that playback.
