I have beaten Xenosaga Ep 2. That damn final boss fight took me over an hour and a half, but I finally managed to whup him. I'm looking forward to Ep 3 now, but next I'm gonna play Eternal Sonata.

They aren't releasing standalone guitars rightaway (as far as I know), so should I pick up the old GH3 guitar or a RB2 guitar? I hated the Rock Band one guitar, but I haven't had a chance to use the new one, so I don't know if they've changed it enough for me to enjoy it.

Just kidding. Welcome to the GGT! I saw something on the new GH:WT guitars. It looked like they have a touch pad and was used to tap out the close notes. I would wait for the GH:WT guitars and see if what I saw made it into the final spec of the guitars. I honestly haven't followed them much at all. Hope someone can help out better.

They're pretty much the same, except a bit sturdier! I'd recommend a Les Paul (GH3), or an Xplorer (GH2). I've had an Xplorer since GH2 came out and never had any problems with it, but I use my RB2 guitar a lot more now.

I'm 360-less, so the Xplorer is out. I've always liked the GH guitars (Red Octane knows how to make them :)), and if the RB2 guitar's buttons feel the same as the original, I'm not interested at all. I'll probably head down to gamestop and see if I can't find a GH3 to hold me over until I pick up the next model with GH5/RB3. ;)

Eternal Sonata for 360 is pretty solid. I love the battle system and the amazing art direction. While the story is pretty straightforward, the premise is somewhat obtuse, and might be trying a bit too hard with the melodrama. To me, the game borrows from and flows somewhat like Radiata Stories and other tri-Ace games (although the dev is actually tri-Crescendo, a separate company started by the former sound guy for tri-Ace), but in a generally good way. I decided to go with the PS3 version due to the additional characters and content.

Lol, to get back on the topic a little, I just played a little RB and Guitar Hero III this morning. I didn't advance very far, but I still played. Too bad I'm not at Purdue still because I would have given you one of my guitars for PS3 cheap. :-P

Seeing Fable 2 reviews and hearing about it make me want to go play Fable again, since I won't be getting Fable 2 for a while. Last time I played it, I did the trading exploit and leveled up a bit before I did the first quest. Makes it so easy when you have bad ass armor and augmented weapons before the first quest. :)

Well, I'm back from my week suspension....

Gaming wise I started Oblivion this week, and have put in 13 hours. I'm liking it but not totally enthralled. I prefer RPGs with more story like the Bioware games, but this is still damn good as there's so much to do. Doubt I'll finish it anytime soon though.

Non-gaming news I caught a damn cold at a terrible time as I have to academic job interviews next week that I need to prepare for. Spent all afternoon suit shopping which sucked balls with a cold...

I could see that. I'm a pussy these days and hate hard games. I just have no patience for them. My interest in gaming is way down as is, and playing games that frustrate me don't help that at all.

I'd rather just play something where I can veg out and relax, and not have to worry about memorizing boss patterns, or learning combos in something like Ninja Gaiden etc.

The last few castlevania games had some challenge in some bosses, but I mainly just enjoyed exploring the castles, getting new powers and messing around. In the last hard one, CoTM, the hard bosses greatly lessened that enjoyment for me.

But I definitely respect that others like hard games and are annoyed by lack of challenge. Every game should just have adjustable difficulty to solve that problem.

I played the game Flip Games from Gamestop to Blockbuster to Gamestop today.

I started the day with $47 credit and $20 expenditure at Gamestop. Ended with $150 in Gamestop Credit. I also had about $45 in blockbuster credit I couldn't find extra flippables for. I bought Professor Layton for $25 and a Wii Points Card. With the gamestop credit I paid off Castlevania OoE, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, and the rest of my Fallout 3 CE Pre-Order.

All for around $70.

You guys cannot believe how fucking hyped I am for Rock Band 2 with guitar hero instruments. I think I'm actually going to get both games and just say fuck it. I've got 700 bucks saved up and no bills, I can afford it.

I personally don't see what was so bad about GH3. I liked the challenge, and a good portion of the set list. There are probably more songs that I really enjoy playing (mostly due to challenge) on GH3 than the original Rock Band. Either way, I'm getting them all, b/c I love them all. Though certain parts of Rock Band 2 are annoying me, like the absence of a "play through list of songs 1 by 1 to complete game" mode.

I was playing that over the weekend, I kept getting stuck at a "stealth" bit near the begining where you have to tag the back of a hideout. You start off standing on a roof, I wasn't sure where I was supposed to go to avoid being seen.

Just went on a cheap game spending spree this morning. Bought :360:Dark Sector from newegg (12.99 , also nabbed a SD card for my wii finally) :wii:Sega Superstars Tennis and :wii:Samurai Warriors Katana from gamefly (9.50 each). Dead Space is good. It gets a little repetitive after a few hours so I'll shut it off and switch to something else. The environment (ambient noise and soundtrack) makes that game, much like Silent Hill.

On a side note, we got awesome Dead Space shirts in at work (I exaggerate when I say shirts, they only sent us like four). It's got Isaac on the front, then on the back (along the spinal area), it has his life meter.

I went out to get Far Cry 2 today, and also hopefully a cheap PS2 slim.

Well I got Far Cry, and thanks to the gamestop dealio a Like new Silver PS2 slim, an official 8MB memory card and extra Dual Shock 2, and Raiden 3 and Kill.Switch for $100. Great deal. It's even one of those new, new PS2s that have the AC adapter included in the system, so there isn't a huge box hanging off the thing.

Far Cry 2 is Really, Really good. This game defines immersive. I could get lost playing it for a long, long time. Probably one of the best looking 360 games I've seen too. Really surprised how good this game is.

Walk up to them, left trigger to focus on them and then use the d-pad to select emotions. If you are talking about shop owners, you have to look at them and then make sure a little green bubble is above their head and hit A.

I played... most ... of that. I got about 16 hours in and then my data got corrupted. :bomb: Decided it wasn't worth it to go back through, watched the ending videos on youtube, read the script, and moved on to other games.I decided to skip FES since I had Persona 3 and only played it for 2 hours.:-# I started back at college and had my massive project to do, so it was left forgotten.

I did open Eternal Sonata and played for about in hour. The intro seems a bit different, but it has been a few months since I played the 360 one. I'm going to play a decent amount this weekend hopefully and catch up to where I was.

I also got a Gold Trophy in Buzz for taking 50 created quizzes. Next up I gotta play 50 single player games (so far I've played 22). And then I'll go multi-player and online.

Persona 3 was great. I felt FES kinda took the best parts out, and left you wanting more, but the "The Journey" is awesome.The problem is that I no longer have it. :-( I traded my copy into GameStop for $10.80. The mistake I probably made was giving GS my artbook AND CD. I KNOW it wasn't a great deal, but I badly need $$$ since the job market is terrible, I wasn't going to play it for a while, and maybe when I get a job and everything is fine again financially, I can buy FES. Right now things are looking so bad for me, I must sell as many old games as possible. :-(

I definitely believe the game was great, it's just that the chances of me ever getting to it were near zero (since I haven't played a PS2 game in several months, and my PS2 backlog is still quite large).

lol.It came down to I started playing, but I started back at college and was really busy with my project (I had to finish or spend more semesters in college). I greatly cut back gaming to finish it. Once I did, I purchased some other new games (like Uncharted) and I ended up playing stuff like that when I had time (after phase 1 of my project was finished). I wish I could go back, but I just don't have the time, regardless of how much I've slimmed down my backlog.

My main issue as of late is that if a game doesn't have online play, chances of me playing it a lot aren't very high (because now most of my gaming is spent online with tons of CAGs).

Ahhh... so you never really gave it a chance... ;( Time is very important(I hate missing out on so many games....) The first 2 hours of Persona don't really put you into the main game/daily routine... and that is when I really started to like/love it.

Hopefully you give it a shot later on down the road... it really is a polished title.
