My TRU is in a shitty location. Like get yo' self stabbed location. Plus its a 50 min drive from my house.

During that SMG thing they would not give me a giftcard, so I hate giving them business.

I wonder if it'd be worth taking a trip over there tomorrow, getting an RE5 to sell for cost and keeping the GC...

Is it one per customer?

I feel compelled to quote the final section of that comparison over at eurogamer for some reason:

I know you didn't say you wouldn't play RE5, but I'll just say that I wouldn't pass up a good game, especially a good co-op game, just for some DLC I didn't agree with. Just don't buy the DLC, if it bothers you. In fact, I encourage everyone to ignore the DLC completely. The less money Capcom makes off of it, the less inclined they'll be to do it in the future.

That's the main problem. I don't really care that much, but compared to other forums it kind of sucks here. You got mods that hate other mods, mods that enforce rules differently or have their own rules they enforce etc. etc.

And in general there's too much leeway with trolling, personal attacks etc.

The forum organization is generally pretty good. The one redundancy is there's really no need for a General Gaming forum and console specific. Console specific is better IMO, as it cuts down on the fanboy nonsense some (if the mods are good about crackdown on discussion of other consoles in the wrong forums). So if it were up to me I'd just whack this forum, and not allow all the console war threads that pop up here to pop up anywhere.

Draw back of that is you lose threads on which version of a game is better etc. etc., but as useful as those can be to normal people trying to decide what to buy, the fanboys end up turning them into pissing matches and ruining them anyway.

Put in Fallout 3 with the intention of just installing it today and ended up going for 3 hours. I went in with every intention of being a complete dick to everyone I met, but couldn't do it. Maybe on the 2nd playthrough :D I do steal just about everything though to make up for it, and I did kill the Overseer (but really, he had it coming)

I was hoping in that abandoned Vault where you have flashbacks and everyone leaves notes about seeing blue, that'd it get crazier and crazier as you kept going. People said it was scary but I just found it a bit eerie and that was it :/

I was looking for some deformed mutants/people that would just come right out after you through a wall or something :( I was a bit disappointed with the lack of variety in enemies/creatures that would pose a threat, and the minute amount of Behemoths. I was looking for TOTAL CHAOS!!! ARrrgghhhH!

Xenogears is quality up until the 2nd disc. Then it gets a little shaky, but still good. I remember hearing that it ran over budget and was taking too long, so that's why the 2nd disc suffers. Dunno if that's true, but it makes sense.

It is true, they had no time or money to finish it properly, so they had to make what was intended to be actual gameplay into those strange internal monologues of Fei and whoever else about what happened.

It seemed like it would have been really epic stuff too, since it was the dungeon before Deus mutates the world and you have to go in that big ring thing.

I think there was a few things that they wanted that were cut period, I don't remember at the moment.

I also immediately blew off the head of that first guard you encounter in Raven Rock, and several others. I didn't realize it was not really necessary at the time, but it was cool that it didn't immediately affect my standing with anyone there at the time.

I have such a hard time finding time for games these days. I play civ rev on my breaks, but at home I just sleep or play sf4 if I have the night free. SF4 is just.. Better.

Easy way to get 10 ranked wins in a row: look for gamertags with rap, marijuana, trendy phonetic spellings, or lots of numbers in them. 420SmOKBluntz is probably not smart enough to understand street fighter.

Basically It's what would have happened if they got a GOOD END in EOE instead of the crappy Tang Ending.

You're crazy. EoE is fantastic. The only problem I had with it was that it was almost too simple. While some of the very end is left up to interpretation, for the most part it's pretty cut and dry unlike the TV ending.

As far as Angelic Days, etc. That shit is a cancer that needs to be removed from existence. I'm easily the biggest Eva fan on these forums, and I think Angelic Days was one of the worst things I've ever read.

it's pretty ridiculous. but also a good serious commentary on the whole otaku lifestyle underneath it all.

I tried out that Red Baron demo from PSN and surprisingly enjoyed it. I may buy it eventually, after the move. I've always loved WWI biplane arcade sims. I absolutely loved Crimson Skies (PC) and I keep anticipating a PC sequel. Never played the Xbox Crimson Skies, but I heard it was decent enough.

Well that's sad to hear about the original devs. After I move I may dig out my old Crimson Skies and pop it in for some fond memories. A well-done sequel with solid multiplayer and an awesome single player experience with optional co-op would be killer.

RE5 doesn't even look great anymore. I'm still gonna buy it, but man, I wish it had turned out as great as it seemed way back when.

I wish a sequel with the original devs was possible, but they're doing Dark Void now, and Microsoft still owns the rights to the IP (I believe). Maybe one day...

yeah, I'm glad I'm playing it finally. It was over due.

I'm glad I'm playing it now because I'm taking my time with it. If I got it in November I would have rushed through it.

I play it between twitch games like SFIV and KZ2 so it's a nice polar opposite.

Also RPGs need to use the same episode system... it really is nice since it's an RPG you can play in chunks instead of massive time spans.

after Valkyrie i'll be starting my long tread through Yakuza and Yakuza II.

I already knew it would be my GOTY.

after watching the gametrailers review of Madworld I want it badly. It takes me back to the good memories I had with No More Heroes.

that's kinda what every game is though. you kill a bunch of stuff that's trying to kill you.

to this game's credit though, you get in some pretty fucked up situations. I just hope it isn't all "get trapped in an arena and run around circles shooting at dudes behind you while avoiding the one big guy with a chainsaw or axe."

Anyone who picked up the CE of RE5, you get any problems with the steelbook? The bottom of the case will click when closing but the top won't, it'll close but doesn't feel secure. Well when I got it, it was already open (the box was sealed) and the discs were loose, plus there's a small tear on the bottom of the instruction manual.

I hope they'll let me exchange it for another one >.>

I can't wait to play RE5. :D I have to wait on buying it due to having to figure out my finances first, but eventually I'll get it.

However, like I talked about with someone during KZ2 night, one thing the PS3/360 do to me is that I will see my friends play games. When I see my friends play newly released games, it makes me go out and buy the game sooner than expected. I bought more games near full priced this generation because of this. Last gen, I could wait for a long time to buy games because I didn't have to deal with this. I've even bought more games near release than ever before, because seeing my friends play games make me want to buy them. If my Wii had a similar friend list setup as PS3/360, you better bet I'd be buying more Wii games than I do now.

In order to get around financial issues, I just trade in games I won't touch for awhile or ever again to GS during their promos so I can just use that credit towards purchases and not have it hurt my pocket, that or just renting...I normally get rid of games too, but at the same time there are some I can just never ditch. I really wish I could ditch a high number of PS2 games, but since they don't give you really anything at GS for trading them in now, I just keep them. I won't lie I've traded in some games for $0.05 and $0.10 before, but some are just beyond ridiculous.

Madworld looks so much better-realized and more fun to play than NMH. Can't wait til it gets here!Yeah, I have much more interests in it too. I definitely want to play it.

I picked up Mass Effect (the Platinum Hits one for $20). I was surprised it had a Premium Theme and 18 Gamer Pics on the 2nd disc, which was nice. I guess I'll play a little bit of it tonight (I guess I'll play it on a harder difficulty this time).
I need to play ME again one day. I'll probably do it sometime before the DLC or the sequel come out. I'll probably set it to the hardest difficulty.

You could try out Goozex to get better credit than at GS. They just added the option to use your points for new games from Amazon, I think. I've been able to get Gears of War, Eternal Sonata, and Burnout Revenge on the Xbox 360 by getting rid of some worthless PS1 and DC games, so PS2 should get you much more points and get something out of it whether you can get new games or not.
