I don't know what it is about the 360 version of Devil May Cry 4, whether it's the controller or it's more difficult, but I suck at this version of the game. I blew through the PS3 version on Devil Hunter (the difficulty I'm playing on 360 right now) without dying, and on this version, I died 5 times on the third boss. What is going on?

I also can't get an S combo for the life of me (On the PS3 version, I got it on the first mission when I started the game). It's always some random dick enemy that just comes out of nowhere after my combo when I'm vulnerable and resets my combo.

I played it back at ScreenBurn Arcade during SXSW and it was sweet.

I really liked how the combat, and platforming really went well together IMO. The only problem I had was the very generic weapons, and character designs.

Finally got around to gettin mah skull back on Hard. Tried playing as a member of G-Unit, but they suck. Listening to that DJ talk shit was painful.

Also beat Uncharted on the highest default difficulty and found 40/60 treasures on my first run-through.

Outside of trophies, there's no reason to play it again, right?

to be honest, i havent had too many problems with PSN players being jerkoffs.

My biggest worry with mag is that with that many people, how much will it feel like one good squad is making a difference in the game. I mean, the best multiplayer games offer great incentives to do well in games, and I'm not sure how much incentive a game can offer to each player, of 255.

(If that doesn't make any sense, I apologize. it makes sense in my head)

Sony has kind of dabbled with this before with Planetside. I never got a chance to play Planetside, but I heard good things about it and the community that came around it. I'm sure there will be directives and objectives to keep players focused.

The previews say you're free to wander off and do your own thing, but you get incentives for sticking with squads, like faster reloading and other things like that. You also get bonuses for completing orders that commander set for the army. I'm not that interested since I've never been interested in Zipper's other games.

The online issues with the Bionic Commando demo better just be servers being overwhelmed and not something that's wrong with the retail game.

Pretty close to the end of Saints Row 2. I've got like 36 of the Neighborhoods, and like 43 missions completed. I'm mopping up a few strongholds, and then I'll have the last set of missions unlocked.

The only thing I don't like about the game is the strongholds. They're not nearly as fun as the real missions, and it sucks that they're mandatory. It also sucks that it takes respect to do them.

I'm at like 22 hours in less than two weeks of owning it. Haven't been this sucked into a game since Fallout 3.

It's most certainly the best GTA style game out there.

Yea, I enjoyed the first Dead to Rights very much. I remember thinking it was the coolest thing in the world, due to the large amount of disarms you could do. Hopefully they keep that aspect intact.

I finished Mercenaries 2 last night. I was kind of disappointed by it. I loved the first game, but they made it way too hard to balance faction standing. The buggy-ness also didn't help.

Started Heavenly Sword. It really seems no more than a decent GoW clone. The aftertouch thing is both gimmicky as hell and annoying as hell. The three style system seems interesting enough though.

Also, the dialogue is laughably bad. The cutscenes make me feel like I'm watching a bad engrish kung fu movie.

No, it's incredibly stupid to make a fighting game demo that not everyone can enjoy. Even Tekken 2's demo had an arcade mode to play, though it was just one fight that you could play infinitely. Not even matching that shows that Capcom doesn't put any thought into these demos as they should have. I could only say that the Flock demo and Age of Booty are their best demos in recent memory since they have a lot of content in them to give you enough to see if you want to buy the games, though they fucked up Flock by charging $15 for a $10 game. Capcom just hasn't been able to do much right in the downloadable space since they released Bionic Commando Rearmed.

At least you weren't expecting online play from the demo.

They can't very easily. Howard Stringer (CEO of Sony corp.) is heavily pressuring SCE to break even/profit. And since PS3 hardware still sells at a loss, he's not letting them cut the price. Until Sony is profiting or breaking even on PS3, they aren't going to do anything about the PS3 pricetag. Some may say that cutting the price would meant to more game sales, but the only way Sony can make that back up is if people buy a significant number of PS3 software and accessories (and the people who want to wait for a price drop, aren't exactly the type to buy many games anyway). David Reeves (President of SCEE) even said that they did not drop the PS2/PS1 price until they would break-even profit, and that's what they are going to do with PS3. The most they will currently do is bundle, because including a game only costs the price of case, manual, and blu-ray disc. Basically, they are willing to sacrifice market share just so they can be profitable. And Sony isn't exactly giving away breaks to lose money such as: -They cut the console from South Korea since the currency dropped significantly, and people were importing it from there to save a lot (keep in mind game consoles don't tend to sell a lot there anyway). -There is no way anyone is getting around a cheaper PS3 repair, if they console breaks and someone doesn't have the receipt/warranty is up. The only region PS3 hasn't done that great in is North America. In the U.K., PS3/360 are much closer (360 was out much longer than PS3, when compared to the NA difference) and in Japan/most of Europe, PS3 is the #2 console. And if Sony is performing this way despite having a high price tag, that is another reason they aren't looking at a major pricecut just yet. Ugh, I've explained it too many times. Placing PS1 games in the store isn't as easy as people think. For an example, if a game uses particular music, art, etc., it needs to be re-licensed for use.And there's also some publishers who no longer exists, and some people who prefer not to have their games on PSN due to previous issues with SCEA (looks at the old President of Working Design when people asked about Arc The Lad as a PS1 download in NA). It really comes down to, trying to re-license old games is a pain (whether it be VC or PSN) and for what they sell for (despite all you have to go through) doesn't make it worthwhile many times. If SCEA/SCEE just placed any PS1 game in the Store, they'd be facing legal issues from someone wanting their share or whatever (because its technically their game or they have some part in it).

I haven't bought an N64 VC game in probably two years, but I'd pay at most $10 for an N64 game that I really liked with many updates/upgrades (Any of the Aki WCW/NWO or WWF games) and then probably skip anything else since nothing else on there was all that good that I'd still want to play it now.

Started Quantum of Solace (only paid 2.50 for it after my rewards zone certificates :D). Decent so far, feels a bit disconnected when it goes into third person. I also don't think they needed the additional button press when you go to do a melee takedown. The game freezing and waiting for you to hit the button is just odd.
Aside from shooting in first person, it feels a lot like Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love on PS2. (which i mean in a good way)

Presentation wise, it's pretty nice with a lot of scenes from Casino Royale redone in the game engine almost shot for shot, and using the classic Bond score very well, but not beating you over the head with it like some of the other 007 games.

Played some more of Heavenly Sword today. I did like the reference to "attack your weakpoint to massive damage" though. The blades of chaos cameo was nice too.

The dialogue is awesome. It seems to have a dark humor that I'm not too used to in video games. The normal combat is starting to get repetitive though.

You guys were right, Kai's levels are easily the best part of the game, and the aftertouch mechanic grew on me after some time with it.

Played Wolverine (on PS3 cause I'm suspended on 360...) and was surprised how much it was like the movie, and by that I mean it blowed. Get God of War instead.

I enjoyed the violence aspect. I was really expecting the Wolverine movie to be mature, serious and dark. It was none of those things, probably why I hated it so much.

The game was too messy and the combat wasn't that fun, too button mashy. (Related to the demo). I'll usually pass judgment on a game based on the jump animation, you can usually tell how polished the game is when examining that aspect and the jumping in the demo was really weak. Also, the developers constantly saying, "every other game is a pansy!" and "we have the most badass game ever!" really put a bad taste in my mouth.

(note: I don't REALLY rate games based on jump animations...)

Came home tonight and picked up my iPod Touch. It isn't doing anything. If I put it on the dock or connect it to the PC it gets recognized but nothing will come up on the screen.
