Demon's Soul coming to America!!
Thanks Atlus for publishing!

Experience the game Eurogamer.net awarded 9 out of 10, hailing it as "absolutely compelling; dark, detailed, unforgiving, creatively cruel," and adding, "you can learn to love Demon's Souls like few other games in the world."

Yeah, the game is fucking hard. Like monster hunter fucking dick face suck it hard. I knew some publisher was going to pick it up but never confirmed who. That's why I was weary of people picking it up already.

Speaking of Super Ghouls and Ghosts, I remember it being rated for XBLA and PSN like a year or two ago. I wonder what ever happened to that?

Just read up on the GBA version, and apparently it had a bunch of extra stages not found in the SNES version. Would love to have that version come out on XBLA / PSN.

I'll just say it's a bitch. I had the GBA version and got far in it but just caved in and gave up. Basically you grow an extra testicle if you can 100% it.

Sounds interesting to me... I'm always up for a challenge.

Speaking of a challenge, last night I tried to beat Super Ghouls and Ghost. I got through the 1st run-through no problem (if you're not familiar with the game, you have to complete it twice. When you finish all of the levels the first time, it will return you to the beginning of the game and make you repeat them, on an even harder difficulty.)

The second run-through, I hit a huge snag at the 7 (& final) level. By this time it was 4 something in the morning and I was tired from a night of drinking beer, so I gave up after about 40 minutes. It was just too difficult to beat the level with the goddess weapon (a special weapon that you have to have in order to beat the last boss, otherwise you have to restart the stage.)

Great game though.

I remember having that as a kid. Game was hard as fuck. My brother and I never got past the 1st boss. (give me a break, I was 5 at the time).

I'm totally entralled with Bioshock. Such a great game.

I do have a couple questions for the GGT:

1. Should I harvest or release the Little Sisters? I've been releasing them.

2. About how long does it take to complete the game?

3. Right now I'm looking for some ingredients to make some kinda invention to heal the plants or something, so about how far along am I?

Moxio

Raiden Fighters Aces, definitely. But if you're in the mood for horror, and assuming that is the original SH there, then go for that. That game is all kinds of fucking awesome.

1. Should I harvest or release the Little Sisters? I've been releasing them.

The point of the choice is to make it yourself :-s

There's really not too much difference. If you're going for 1000g in one run (assuming it's 360) then rescuing them is the way to go I think. Though the add-on will still allow a 1000g harvest run if I remember.

Moxio

Probably asking for ending purposes, in which case harvesting them gives you the super-shitty ending whereas saving them gives you a less-shitty-but-shitty ending.

So one of my non gamer friends walks into school today with a brand new DSi and Pokemon that he got for his birthday and my other friend who is more of a gamer and I started talking about PSP (he has one) and I'm thinking about getting one. Especially if I end up going to CUNY Hunter and I'm going to commute everyday. I have an iPod Touch but it's lacking in the game department. iTouch is awesome for music and watching movies and TV shows though.

Note: I've owned a DS Lite before and I ended up selling it but I've always kind of wanted a PSP. And PSP has MLB 09: The Show while the Xbox 360 has yet to put out a quality baseball game since its release in 2005, among other good games.

Interesting. I wonder if this can be the start of a trend.

The Director's Cut BD of Watchmen will have both of those downloadable Watchmen games on the disc playable on PS3.
So you get the games for free basically.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience is an innovative, retail Blu-ray Hi-Def game and film hybrid which will include Watchmen: The End is Nigh Parts 1 and 2 and the Watchmen: Director’s Cut on Blu-ray. This new cut of the action-packed blockbuster includes an additional 25 minutes of footage not seen in theaters only available on Blu-ray and DVD. The two-disc collectible set will also feature exclusive artwork in a premium package. The game will be playable on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system which can also play the Blu-ray disc of Watchmen: Director’s Cut.

Looks like I'll be buying The Director's Cut Blu-Ray unless its priced more than's reasonable (which I almost expect).

Krymner
05-21-2009, 07:45 PM
I may also pick up the director's cut BD if it isn't priced real crazy. I played the demo for the Watchmen game, and while it wasn't anything I usually would spend more than $5 on, bundle it with the director's cut blu-ray and I'm more apt to go for it.

Hopefully if it sells well, other companies could go this route too. A bit more incentive to buy blu-ray instead of DVD. That is, of course, if the price isn't ludacris.

I played a bit more Bioshock today. Gonna try to put a little more time into Metal Gear Solid 2 before work tonight. I guess I'm about halfway thru it.

That'd be amazing. I played PlanetSide for a while with my CS buddies until the server got really populated and the battles got too big for the servers to handle. I think there was something in the coding of the game that adjusted to accomodate players with the lowest ping which always meant everyone played at a 56k level because at least one moron didn't understand dial-up and MMOs go like oil and water.

HELP ME OUT GUYS :) (A lowball preview+help needed)
Hey guys,

So I've been thinking of doing a lowball sale for a while now. I was recently scanning through some Canadian TIVS for DS Games and I found about 8 games worth trading in, and around 12 or 13 for the lowball.

The TIVs are (all from EB Games unless noted):
New Super Mario Bros. $25
Guitar Hero: On Tour $16
Super Mario 64 DS $25.20 (Futureshop)
Professor Layton $11
Magical Starsign $12!!!!
Mario Kart DS $25
Advance Wars Days of Ruin $9
Elite Beat Agents $9 (EBA, AW AND LAYTON would cover a full Infamous pre-order)

Question: Should I trade those in or could I get more via lowball?

As for PSP games, how do you think these would fare in a lowball? Do you think I should put them on eBay instead?
Here's the list for the lowball sale that would likely start today:
-WORK TIME FUN (Sealed)
-Darkstalkers: The Chaos Tower
-Death Jr.
-GOW: Chains of Olympus
-Jeanne D'Arc

Heavy Rain is looking pretty good. QTEs aside, I'd be interested to play/watch how the story unfolds. The reporter's story with the dance club scene and...er...whatever happens...after? Looks...er....interesting...ahem.

Mark my words, Heavy Rain is going to ROCK! Indigo Prophecy was a really unique game, and one my favorite little gems of last generation. By the time HR actually comes out, I might be in a position to get a PS3. 8-)

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. Which part of the boss are you having a hard time with, first or second? Took me a couple tries, but once you get the pattern down and switch up the weapons quickly enough, it gets to be a smooth ride.

The game surprised me too. It's a pretty good metroid style clone. It's also challenging , but not too much. I kinda dread the thought of Hard/Insane/ Ultra mode though.

The first part isn't that bad. It takes a while but is simple enough. It's the second part that gets me. You spend all the time chasing your clones to keep him from doing his ultimate attack , which he still always end up getting off on me anyway. Half the time the clones end up vanishing and I can't find them to kill them until he's already made the 3 needed for the ultimate. It's how long the fight is that gets me.

The last time I fought him I got down to half a bar left and died. :[

and press release
THREE INCREDIBLE GAMES JUST GOT MORE AWESOME: METROID PRIME TRILOGY HEADS TO WII

All Three Critically Acclaimed Games Now Feature Motion Controls with Enhanced Presentation and In-Game Rewards

REDMOND, Wash., May 22, 2009 - Metroid™ Prime 3: Corruption set a new standard for first-person motion controls in video games. Now it's bringing those controls to the rest of the celebrated series, allowing players to experience the entire Metroid Prime story arc with the peerless precision of the Wii Remote™. Nintendo announces Metroid Prime Trilogy, a new premium three-game collection for the Wii™ console that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games onto one disc and revamps the first two installments with intuitive motion controls, wide-screen presentation and other enhancements. Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available exclusively for Wii on Aug. 24 at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Each game maintains its original storyline and settings, but now Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes let players use their Wii Remote to aim with precision as heroine Samus Aran. Based on the breakthrough control system that debuted in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, these new Wii controls bring an entirely new level of immersion and freedom to these milestone games.

"Metroid Prime Trilogy puts the best first-person adventures all in one place, with a host of new additions that make these three timeless titles more engaging than ever," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "A great deal of care and detail has gone into Metroid Prime Trilogy, providing longtime fans with new ways to experience the games they love."

All three games now reside on a single disc. Players can access the game they want from a unified main menu that ties together all three adventures. Through a new unlockables system, players can gain access to in-game rewards such as music and artwork by accomplishing objectives across all three games.

Metroid Prime Trilogy was developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo, the same developers that created the original games for the Nintendo GameCube™ and Wii systems.

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com.

For more information about Metroid Prime Trilogy, visit www.Metroid.com (http://www.metroid.com/).

There really much of a reason you need to play 2... Still this is a pretty nice deal. I got annoyed at MP3 and got rid of it(kind of regret it now) and was somewhat interested in getting Metroid Prime for the Wii. But $50 for all 3 games? I'm sold. Even if I'll probably never touch MP2 again.

Yea, I played the demo and it was fun. I had dl'd the theme years ago and kept it on the PSP ever since. I wanted to experiment with other themes but had move the namaikida file around and "lost" it on my HDD, so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it again since I forgot where I obtained it in the first place.

Can't wait for the game to come state side though!

Scurge:Hive can be a bit frustrating at times, but it can be amazingly fun to play. Different weapon types can either do normal or higher damage on enemies depending on what they're weak against, but it can also make the enemy stronger and faster, so there's some experimenting with combat.

Yeah, I don't think you could really say whether one game is better, since they are both exceptional within their genres (I haven't played P4 yet, but I am playing P3, so I know the general game type). I really liked this about the game. Sure the game demands alot of time to commit to it, but its time you can play in your own set of chunks. Also the leveling and inventory system is great; straight to the point and not a nightmare.

While I don't think VC is the greatest game, I loved it, mainly due to the perfect cast. I've never loved a group of characters in a game like I have in VC, plus a non-one dimensional hero was a real breath of fresh air.

I gotta still play persona, but I think if I like it it'll be for entirely different reasons.

Could you detail what games you flipped, how many and such?
GH:WT PS2 $3-->$15.75 (base) was the best flip, I found a store with MANY of those.
Lots of GoWII 7.75 (base, now 7.50) as well. This one was common.
Star Wars Battlefront II, and Clone Wars were 8 and 7.75. Had a few of those.

Halo 3 and GTAIV flipped to $15 and had some of those as well.

Other misc titles like, Hot Wheels: Beat That, SoTC, Valkrye Profile 2, GH:Aero, GH:80s, Call of Duty 5 (ps2), rounded out the rest.

Then the 30% movie trade in bonus, plus 10% Edge.

To me, the best version of Disgaea 1 is the PSP one. I enjoyed the fact that you can finally choose which song you want to play during the item world because that same song just drilled a hole through my head on the PS2 O_O

Disgaea 2 is eventually coming to the US on the PSP since it's already been released in Japan. Just like Tales of Vesperia...:-P

Inspired by the NeoGAF thread.

What are your gaming plans for the summer?

For me I'm going to be purchasing Mass Effect tomorrow from TRU for $5 and "renting" MLB 2K9 from Gamestop (buying it used and returning within 7 days) so I can play it in the meantime while I sell stuff to fund a purchase of the game.

There will be a lot of MLB 2K9 franchise with the Mets combined with me working through my backlog. My backlog consists of Rainbow 6 Vegas, GRAW, King Kong, Orange Box, and Gears 2. I want to finish off all of these games before Madden drops on August 14th. Should be easy enough as I'm about halfway through R6V and GRAW and only plan on playing HL2 and both episodes, no Portal or TF2, I hate TF2's gameplay and Portal isn't my cup of tea. And Gears 2 I just want to beat on the normal difficulty, no achievement whoring, at least for now. If I can fit in enough time I might try to complete COD4 single player on my own gamertag as I beat it at my friend's house.

Also at the end of June I'll be purchasing a 4000 point card off eBay for $35 and picking up Cloning Clyde, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, so we'll see about COD4.

Depending on how much time I can get in gaming as well, it's lesser priority but I want to get GTA4 and Left 4 Dead. I'm not dying to play these games but I'll have the money to afford them and if I can beat everything I have I'll get them but I have no qualms waiting until after the summer to pick them up. And I'll be keeping my eye on FNR4. All my friends are jizzing on UFC but the Fight Night series has always had a special place in my heart.

Oh yeah I'll pick up Oblivion GotY from TRU tomorrow if it's there. $10 is a good enough price to throw it straight into the backlog. I'll probably throw Mass Effect into the backlog too but it will be first priority once I beat those other games.

$15 on XBLA, PSN, and PC.
Multiplayer only
3 maps set in the Pacific of WWII
24 players
Completely destructible environments
Planes (which you can parachute out of), vehicles, and carrier boats with turrets attached to them
Awesome looking graphics and what looks to be solid gameplay

I'm probably going to be picking up a 4,000 point card when MvC2 drops since you can get them for $35 flat off eBay. This game looks like it can be a fun little distraction over the summer to hold me over until the big daddy releases of the Fall.

Yard sale score! Picked up cart-only copies Prof. Layton, Puzzle Quest & Clubhouse Games, all for just $5 each at a yard sale yesterday.

Almost to the end of Bioshock. The awesomeness factor has kinda worn off. For the first two-thirds of the game I was searching every nook and cranny for everything. Now I'm just running and gunning my way to the end it seems. The exploration factor has gotten old I guess. Still a solid game tho.

I'm also getting towards the end of MGS2 I think. I stopped at the part where I'm running around naked.
