Yeah, there were supposed to be 6 games. 1 and 2 were supposed to be about Shion & friends, 3 and 4 was going to take place in another time, with different characters, same with 5 & 6.

Since the head of the team is awful about finishing a game on time and on budget, 1 wasn't really complete. So episode 2 ends where episode 1 was supposed to, and 3 ends where 2 was supposed to. As a result, they kind of took control of the story away from it's original creators. So the end of the series isn't really a tacked on ending, it's very likely where the first part of the series was supposed to end.

chaos and KOS-MOS were supposed to be in all the games, somehow or another.

I'm sure no one gives a shit, but there's your XS history lesson.

Also Rei, prepare some music to listen to during the gameplay portions of episode 2. They brought in Shinji Hosoe, and his stuff is pretty grating. Kajiura does a pretty good job in 3 though.

Kind of. Xenogears was the 5th episode in some long story that the creators had written up when they worked at Square, but Xenosaga was supposed to be a different story. They published a book (http://www.japanator.com/elephant/post.phtml?pk=9682) in Japan that detailed what the other 5 episodes of Xenogears would've been like, and 1,2, and 3 don' t match up with what happened in XS.

Infamous is fantastic. It is pretty much Crackdown combined with Sly Cooper, but somehow feels more polished than crackdown, and more expanded gameplay than Sly.

Prototype has a lot to live up to(although I feel like it will be more action oriented than Infamous).

Just tried out the demos for Crash Commando (did this arrive now, or earlier? I can't remember) and Rock Band PSP. CC is pretty fun, but that's it. Rock Band PSP is awesome, I can't believe that they used the Amplitude playstyle for it. I may get it, but it took a long time to get used to hitting 4 buttons instead of 3 (or did Amplitude have 4 as well, I can't remember at the moment).

Lost Planet 2 is easily the top game they showed, they are really bringing Monster Hunter to the west, with guns. Its a genius idea really, normal third person play through, huge monster at the end. Sets up well for DLC stages also. Capcom will soon realize a few things.

1. Their big AAA retail games have to be japan made.

2. Their awesome digital games can be either japan or US made.

Dark Void is going to bomb, just like bionic commando. Flock also bombed. With this knowledge, capcom can go places really fast.

Of that list Dead Space and Infamous stand out as fantastic single player experiences. I can't comment on Last Remnant or Blue Dragon, but people seem to have some pretty scathing things to say about it.

MGS5 a PSP Go exclusive confirmed!

That PSP Go looks pretty bad. The buttons look too small, and seem like they could break instantly. But That's just from looking at it. I'd like to try and actually hold one, to see if my complaint is warranted.

I like being surprised at E3. PSP Go looks like something I wouldn't be too interested in but my ears did perk up at a Metal Gear mention. Sony must not be happy about this.

It actually looks a lot better in the video than pics, I think. I like that it's smaller. I just don't see the point of the device.

I'm just as excited about this as I was about the Game Boy Micro when it was announced. Which is to say not very.

Why is Sony so bad at keeping their secrets? They had Home leaked on them a couple years ago and weren't too happy about that.

It's pretty crazy how accurate all those rumors about the PSP-Go ended up being, from being UMD-less, to the games, and right down to the actual slide out design and button layout. I know Sony is not happy, but it seems like they didn't have too many surprises going in to E3 anyway.

It is weird how they have such terrible "security" on their their "secrets".

I'm interested in PSP-Go, but only a little. I'm more interested in a Slim PS3 and a cheaper PS3 myself.

If Sony's redesigned hardware is affordable and reliable, I'm interested. A cheaper, slimmer PS3 is exactly what it would take to get me to buy one (even brand new). Games like Infamous, MAG, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2, GoW III, KZ2, FFXII (it just feels better on a Playstation), etc. have me about ready to jump on board. It's almost been three years since launch, it's about time I picked up a PS3.

Other than that, i'm more curious to see how it will survive on the market. I think it's health will slightly be determined by any PSN upgrade announcements sony has this E3.

I'm disappointed since I prefer having the screen between the d-pad and face buttons like the DS and PSP, but it looks fine otherwise since I'd like to upgrade from my beat-up PSP-1000 to something newer.

Only way I can see that happening is if you send them your games, and I doubt they'd want you to do that.
