Fuck yes. I'm all over it. Have they announced the price? I'm gonna run short on points now, since I was trying to save my last 1200 for MvC2. Fuck you, YF360G and Amazon. :|

I'm guessing that, while cards could be released as DLC, it will definitely have a large set of cards to begin with. It's been so long since I played, I can even remember what edition/expansions were out when I was playing -- 4th edition... maybe Legends... and 5th was coming out when I stopped. I think Fallen Empires might've been in there too.

How do you get cards? One of my favorite things about Magic was buying a pack and finding a rare in it. I hope everyone doesn't just have access to all the cards right at the beginning.
I used to be a huge Magic player (I stopped right before the 5th edition came out), so if they do this well I'm all over it. May make me actually upgrade to XBL Gold again.

Well, if it's like other games I've played that are like Magic, you start with a basic deck, you battle people and earn cards at the end to build your collection. Winner usually gets more cards than the loser, but everyone earns something.

So I downloaded the Medio Go software anyway even though I haven't bought my PSP 3000 yet. I uploaded all my music and a bunch of movies. It has a bootleg iTunes look but is pretty snappy. Maybe sony and squeenix worked out a new deal on that? Cause last I heard , square said that the US version of Advent Children on Blu would not have the demo.

um apparently I have 2300 Wii Points (or just 300 if anyone wants to buy the points cad off me) and I don't know of anything I want... I would get that pixel game on DSi, but I have no use for a DSi at all at the moment.
so... I was wondering if I should just wait, or get something...
so far all I have already on my Wii:
River City Ransom
Sin & Punishment
The Legend of Zelda (never owned it myself growing up so I wanted to spend time with it)
TLoZelda: Ocarina (I really do not like this game... not for me... sorry, prefer 2D zelda)
I'm down for anything other than world of goo (want to play it on PC) and Majoras Mask... so any suggestions might help.

Any particular kind of game or genre your looking for a game in? It'd be easier to make a recommendation knowing what your looking for.
Yoshi's Story, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and Zelda: Link to the Past are great games.
Yoshi's Story = Too Short , Too Easy , not really worth 1000 points
Mario Kart 64 = Hold off for the SNES one , or grab the GCN/Wii versions , they are all better
Super Mario 64 = A bit on the easy side now , but still worth playing
Star Fox 64 = Totally worth it if you like flight shooter. Still play it fairly often
LoZ : LttP = Also totally worth it

k after reading the gaf thread and this post in particular
So listen to this story. I was in the early levels; I didn't quite have an idea of how ridiculously in-depth the database was. I was summoning things like ladders, glasses of water, rayguns, what have you. But I reached a level with zombie robots, and the zombie robots kept killing me. Rayguns didn't work, a torch didn't work, a pickaxe didn't work. In my frustration, I wrote in "Time Machine". And one popped up. What the fuck? A smile dawned on my face. I hopped in, and the option was given to me to either travel to the past or the future. I chose past. When I hopped out, there were fucking dinosaurs walking around. I clicked one, and realized I could RIDE THEM. So I hopped on a fucking DINOSAUR, traveled back to the present, and stomped the shit out of robot zombies. Did you just read that sentence? Did you really? I FUCKING TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL MOTHERFUCKING ROBOT ZOMBIES. This game is unbelievable. Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.
im sold on scribblenauts and it'll be the 1st ds game im preording and picking up on day 1

Rolento, you will get Super Metroid for your Wii. OR ELSE! Grr...
I know people are getting high on Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell, but I would suggest not to rush out day 1 and get them. Ubisoft is notorious for very, very quick price cuts on their games. For the last 2 years, their marquee titles (Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed) were cut to $40 2-3 weeks after their release.

I just watched the Super Mario Bros. Wii trailer from E3. (w/ the multiplayer) I have to say this because its been tearing me up inside. I love Mario, but damn, this Super Mario Bros. Wii felt souless, like a souless Little Big Planet wannabe. Just looking at the first stage, looking so reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros. made me feel like they were just raping the franchise (whereas I should have been feeling nostalgic). I just wish that the game would take us some place different. That's what I enjoyed so much about Super Mario Land on the gameboy, it was someplace totally different. It added new elements (plane flying) to the game, and that's why I loved it. New Super Mario, kinda revitalized the series for me... it felt nostalgic, but Seeing this Super Mario Bros Wii, I have to admit it disgusted me.
Seemed like it was copying Little Big Planet w/ the multiplayer portion.
I'm sorry, I just needed to get that shit off my chest.

You are the worst.
If they price it at $50, there's a valid complaint there.
As a $30 budget title I think it's a great idea and would be really, really fun. To say that putting the 2 player mode from NSMB DS on Wii where you can do 4 players on one screen is ripping off little big planet either just shows ignorance of the source material, or an over eagerness to praise Sony product. I'm going to go with all of the above.
I think it looked like a lot of fun and a game that my roomates and I could sit around and have a great time playing. And one that they were actually intersted in unlike Little Big Planet when I had my PS3, which they just laughed at and wouldn't even try.

OMG, they're charging 30 for the game... That just Nintendo's way of saying, this is some crap that we just put together. I mean, damn New Super Mario Bros, was 39.99 at launch, and has only priced drop 5 DOLLARS and is at 34.99. (and still very much worth it!)

Admittedly I didn't play too much LBP multiplayer, but it didn't seem like a game where you could accomplish much mayhem. You could grab the other guy... maybe push him. NSMB, you've got shells, fire flowers, you can throw people, etc.
And whats the source on NSMBW at $30? That doesn't sound like something they'd ever do. That's throwing away $20 for every copy sold.

Hey - Super Mario Galaxy was full of soul, brak.
I don't know that NSMBWii is $30, but it'd be nice if it was. It'll probably be $50 but that's a whole other problem with Nintendo. (barring a huge amount of content that makes it worth that)
NSMB launched at $34.99 and stayed there. That's what happens when you make a quality product that people want to keep buying as they buy your hardware. Maybe nintendo would have been smarter to leave all that money on the table. Sony seems to be good at that, what with the plethora of PSN PSone releases.
Thanks for addressing my complaints with your points. I'll consider your thoughtful rebuttal and get back to you.

Edit 1 - You know what I am - The Worst.. You know why? Because I'm not going to let Nintendo just milk me over and over again for the same game. They're number one, this gen, they got the greatest franchises, but look what the fuck they're doing to them. Its like I'm watching that episode of South Park where they were raping Indiana Jones, except this time its mario w/ the Nintendo Execs - (damn that Reggie and his "power game") What's worst, you supposedly love nintendo soooo much, (that you got mario in your avatar) and yet you can agree with me that this NSMBW is souless if its priced at 50, but at 30, then its okay. WTF?!!! Mario Bros is the flag ship product, it needs to be good enough where one would be more than willing to pay full price, and goo enough, where when you pay that full price you KNOW you got your money's worth.
You wanna kiss Nintendo' ass? If you like it, then go ahead and let Nintendo rape your as...errr, I guess its too late, cause you're already gaping over anything Nintendo releases for you.
Now I know how Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny felt when their childhood hero was raped.. damn shame.

I didn't think it was. I picked it up for $5 a while ago and traded it in almost immediately. Gamestop gave me $10 for it so at least something good came out of it.

Weeds is a very good show. Good mix of dark comedy with some plot. The next season starts sometime in June too I think.
Showtime in general has impressed me, as Weeds and Dexter are too of my favorite shows on tv. (the shifted season times are nice too)
Weeds new season starts this upcoming Monday.

Weeds and True Blood are going to be my main summer shows.
Started another game of Mass Effect again. Is pretty cool but there are some problems that will get fixed in the sequel. That's one of my most anticipated right now for 2010. Xbox live runs out in a week and I'm spending all my time playing an action rpg. Go figure.

Hopefully I can make time to play ME one more time before the sequel comes out.... maybe twice so I can have a good and evil playthrough saved.
Edit: The achievement whore in me hopes that they don't do those * Ally achievements again or at least tone done the number of story/side missions you need to complete to get them.

I'm actually just glad Conan is back on the air. After watching all the shows this week I realized how much I missed it.

I have a 2000 and it runs my 8gb fine, and I'm pretty sure 16gbs work as well... it dosn't matter what model but just the firmware.
I'll be getting a Go but I'll be getting a 16 Micro Mem stick as well since I already am hitting the max on my 8 gig and ifI convert my UMDs, i'll need more than 16 gigs.
I also need to upgrade my PS3 HDD since 60gb is slowly getting crammed no matter how much i delete. Is anything lost in the transfer process of HDDs for PS3? I mostly care about locked save files....

Then, Nintendo has the nerve... to show a goddam Pulse sensor as their new "revolutionary" peripheral. - Wii Vitality Sensor. Nintendo, is so good that they could probably sell virtua boy peripherals to people... I think they realize their ONLY mistake w/ that product was its color. Should have made it White! - White Plastic!
The vitality sensor is really dumb. Really. Dumb. But so's wii fit and that existing doesn't bother me. i'll never buy it, and it doesn't matter to me, so what, then?
Sony or MS would be doing the same shit if they were in nintendo's position and if they could give their software the same kind of sales legs nintendo has on theirs. This "omg Nintendo is such a heartless, greedy company" crap is just dumb, because all of them are like that. That's why you have to buy points in blocks on XBL, and why the PS3 still costs $400, and doesn't come with a headset or HD cables. Because they want money. All three of them do.
NSMB Wii looks great and I'll be picking it up and having fun with it day one. More fun than with LBP. Which, I might add, is completely out of the consciousness of the market at this point. It came out and got a bit of attention last year and by the time we were celebrating new years, nobody gave a shit about that game. I think that's interesting. It goes along with what I thought about it - a good idea, but shallow and with a few fundamental flaws that's going to ensure it doesn't stick with almost every person who plays it.
Loco Roco 2 is a pretty good game. i get those silly tunes stuck in my head. I've been playing that and fieldrunners all weekend, as I'm away from home. Wish I could get back to the witcher.

You're right they're all greedy. On Xbox, I got extra points that will probably never be used (until castle crashers 2) - they do that to force people to make another purchase in order feel like they didn't
"waste" those extra points. Sony w/ their stupid 249.99 PSPgo and 600 dollar system. LBP isn't popular for one because (in comparison to NSMB Wii) it isn't mario. You look at NSMB Wii and why is it great? Because it's Mario! Without the Mario then its nothing. NSMB Wii looks like the same Mario game we've played on the nes, with some new updated graphics, its the same stages (mixed in with the new stuff) and the same boss fights. After 20 some odd years, Its time for Mario to leave the mushroom kingdom
LBP has its flaws just like Mario. Mario is popular now because Nintendo the game down everyone's throat for several years. The NES , SNES, and N64 (because it launched with only two games mario 64, and Pilotwings) forced Mario on people. At the time you had to enjoy Mario because for most that was all the had, with or without flaws. LBP doesn't have that Mario history, so just because its not the most popular game at this time doesn't mean that its like that because of its flaws. There's always improvements that a game could make, but LBP is good. Its LBP what more can one say.

I don't think that's as big of a deal as they made it sound. If it was they'd probably have edited it out. And it sounds like it was mentioned at the ME2 demo bioware was giving, so they're not even being secretive about it. At least I hope so, because I was kinda disappointed to hear that too.

And this is why I'm ending my discussion with you except to say if you believe Mario's popularity to be manufactured, and the only reason the mario design has appeal is because of the character, you are a seriously delusional individual and consider re-evaluating your outlook on your hobby. They were giving Mario away for free... the game didn't have to be good. It was the only game you had. People played it, and loved it, and now when they release New Super Mario people love it not ONLY because of the game (and how good it is) but because of that nostalgia. bullshit. I got a NES with SMB around the time they came out. The game was fun because it was more playable then just about any other game around at the time-- tight controls, good music, pretty graphics, nice difficulty balance, very memorable and unique levels, and loads of secrets. We played the hell out of SMB because there was always more to do with it. People would find out glitches, there were always rumors of jumping over the flagpole, getting into the minus world, getting infinite lives in 3-1....the game had relatively ridiculous replay value.
It was deeper, yet more accessible than your average arcade game that sought to kill you within 5 minutes of putting in your quarter or your average incomprehensible Atari 2600 game. There were PC games that were good and playable, but it's the same deal as today--you didn't just pop in a cartridge and hit "Power" to play PC games, you had to fuck with discs, loading, command prompts, all kinds of crap. I just can't stress enough how the game is the very definition of accessible and fun...it wasn't popular because it was the only game around. People had plenty of games and even after Mario 2 came out, you would still pop in SMB1 every once in a while. It wasn't until Mario 3 came out that SMB1 really took a back seat. If you want to try and turn what I said into something extreme, then that's you. The truth of the matter is that I'm not saying that Mario is a bad game and that on its on own it isn't a good game. However, you Jer, or anyone in the gaming community can't deny that a large part of Mario's success comes from the fact that a lot of popularity comes from people falling in love w/ Mario when it was packaged with the System(s). (NES, SNES, and N64 [as it was the only game at launch besides pilotwings] ) I'm not trying to bash, or defame Mario, however w/ NSMB Wii, I don't like it because, its the same game (as previous Mario's) and then on top of being the same game, they basically try to rip off the best feature from LBP. My criticism for Mario comes from me holding it in high regard. I expect more from Nintendo. They don't borrow ideas, they make their own game and people copy them. LBP is like a child of mario, (yes it was inspired by Mario) it's a platformer that added the community features (game 3.0). 1. I'm giving LBP some credit for actually doing something right and actually inspiring the game that inspired them. Kudos MM. 2. I want more from NSMB Wii. Super Mario 2 was a whole new adventure, some people didn't like it because it was different, but it was a good change of pace. Same with Super Mario Land, and Galaxy, and Sunshine. Give us new worlds, new boss battle. The way they did Punch out is the same way they're doing NSMB Wii, same stuff w/ a new coat of pain/graphics. Nintendo loves making their living off nostalgia and that's why NSMB is the same old stuff, and that's why punch out was the same old stuff.

Mario 1, 2, and 3. If you look at how different those 3 games were, and match it up to NSMB Wii vs the DS version, there's no transition, no evolution from game to game. Its the same old stuff from every other mario. I think that is unfortunate for the gamers, and for the franchise itself.

Oh, it sounded like you were trying to downplay the game's importance or something. well, mario 3 is the natural sequel to SMB1, and Mario 2 is different because it wasn't a Mario game originally. But yeah, the jump from SMB1 to 3 is huge. I think part of that is because there was a huge jump to make. The gap between SMB3 and SMW is much smaller, all the way on up to today where a truly innovative and gap-leaping sequel for any game is rare as hell.
and then there's the whole thing about how Nintendo begrudgingly makes hardcore games to shut people up on the internet and that if they could, they would just port every gamecube game with new play control, release sequels to Wii Sports and Wii Fit, then call it a day. I'm all for an NSMB port, but I know better than to expect big things from Nintendo these days...

thank you! That's exactly what I'm saying.. but when you say "but I know better than to expect big things from Nintendo these days." that's the issue that I have w/ Nintendo. Especially NOW because, they're number one. They have expanded the market, they have sold more Wii and DS, they have killed the competition not just in one market but WORLDWIDE. I guess in the end, the only way to get Nintendo to be more innovative and to release the REAL - NSMB Wii (or Wiii 720) is that they need MS or Sony to step up and put them in the number 2, or 3 slot again. That way they're forced to compete, and not just coast.
Thanks for understanding where I was coming from. I appreciate it.

I don't think that's as big of a deal as they made it sound. If it was they'd probably have edited it out. And it sounds like it was mentioned at the ME2 demo bioware was giving, so they're not even being secretive about it. At least I hope so, because I was kinda disappointed to hear that too.
They were being pretty secretive about it stating that, "This is the only time we are showing this footage". And he explained that it was one of the endings (where Shepard dies - sorry peeps!) but here is the deal about that:
1. He could just be pulling everyone's chain (lying his ass off) and that is actually the beginning. The only reason I thought it was the ending is because that is what he said.
2. (if it IS the ending) It kind of makes the game more enjoyable if you think about it. Because you have this impending doom over your head throughout the game that you COULD die (just like if you were really in the situation) and I am sure nobody wants their Shepard to die. So with that fate looming above your head, you will make smarter choices and maybe perform actions that result in better defense rather than emotional attachments. It helps you realize that this mission is really dangerous.
I was totally pissed coming out of it and seeing this, but those points have helped me to relax about the whole thing - and the game will kick ass no matter what.

It does that all the time, don't worry it is just a bug. It just means you may have done something evil (biodrain or execution), sometimes you wont even notice it. So if you do ANYTHING at all evil, it will say you have become slightly more evil (which you aren't really). Don't worry about it, you'll still get the trophie.

Yeah the not having any control over saves thing kinda bothers me. And it was weird cause I got that evil karma thing again in another non-karma mission where you meet with John and kill that giant conduit. I don't get why it does that to me sometimes. I already got Hero and Goody Two Shoes trophies so I guess it doesn't matter anymore anyway. Despite its bugs, that game is so much fun .. I think I spent about 8 hours playing it yesterday.

Well yeah, it came out what .. 6 years ago? At the time it was impressive because it had great graphics and was not only one of the first games where you were able to move objects in the world but there was actual weight and proper physics applied when you moved them.

Starfy, Tiger 10, the RB PSP game, Virtua Tennis 09, and Class of Heroes are the most notable releases this week besides Prototype (at least for me). I have Prototype on the way, but not sure about Starfy or Tiger. Will probably hold off until those drop in price.

What are you guys talking about? COD4 on Veteran was a piece of cake for like 95% of the game. There was only about three spots (not including MHC) where I had any trouble at all, and even then it wasn't THAT difficult.
Now Mile High Club, that is a pain in the ass.
For the PSP/PS3 games? Yes.
Also, I'd recommend Zen Pinball, if you like those kinds of games. It's really addicting.

I never got past the part of One Shot, One Kill where you're waiting on the helicopter. And that was on Hardened--so I never even bothered with Veteran.
It just wasn't fun. The Gears games I beat on Insane (though having co-op and being able to get through it with a friend was a big part of that) and generally had fun.
But with the grenades, enemies that just keep spawning until you hit some magical check point to stop them etc. just made CoD4 on the higher difficulties no fun at all for me.

Not nearly as pretty as I expected. Colors are nice, but so much AA that it's distracting more than usual.
And the SOUND, it's HORRIBLE!
It has to be one of the most poorly encoded games I've ever played. The crowd noise has this ugly high pitched squeal that low bitrate music/sounds usually have.

I graduated High School in 2006.
I felt so old when I bought the Matrix 10th anniversary blu-ray. I can't believe it's 10 years old.

That game was ok. I don't like how That Rhino is able to beat up Sephiroth but your group of like...20 people can't. Also how Sephiroth claims to be the worlds best dad. He's so not. He beats up Cloud so much. What kind of father does that?!

Nice, same as me (06) although I am 42 years old.
Kidding. Although sometimes it doesn't feel like I am...

I graduated in '04 as well.
Funny topic to bring up though - I felt old today when A) I got a thing in the mail about my little cousin graduated high school and B) My arm was sore after throwing a baseball yesterday.
Just started FF7 again - good bye social life for like a week.

Okay - I need a recommendation from you RPG heads. I'm not normally a big fan of the genre, but I've got a lot of spare time right now and have been hankering to play a new JRPG since FF7 was released on PSN.
I don't really know how to describe what kind of RPG I like, so I'm going to list some games that I really like and some that I don't like, then maybe you guys could steer me in the right path. I have all the systems except PSP, but would prefer it on 360 or PS3 (Wii wouldn't be THAT bad.)
Games I really like...
Beyond Oasis <3
Final Fantasy 7 - 10, 12
Chrono Trigger and Cross
Vandal Hearts
Suikoden I and II
Pokemon Red / Blue / Yellow
Dark Savior
Fire Emblem (GC)
Games I didn't really like....
Xenogears / Saga
Suikoden III
Any Pokemon past Red / Blue / Yellow
Everquest
Golden Sun
Thanks in advance! I've been looking at Tales of Vesperia but I don't know if I would dig it. What RPG does it compare too? Basically, I really really like FF7-10 and would like a game similar to them, but I'm open to try new things.

You seem to like and not like the same RPGs as me. I say go for Tales of Vesperia. It's a great game.

I glitched it too -- I used that funky radioactive no damage zone in the playground until the choppa showed up. Then I did like Maklershed advises and GOT TO THE CHOPPA!

Tales of Vesperia is a solid choice. I greatly prefer Lost Odyssey over it though, as far as 360 RPGs go.
If you like Pokemon, I'd say give Persona 3 or 4 a shot.
Valkyria Chronicles isn't really an RPG although some would like you to believe it's an SRPG, but it should fill your RPG needs.
My recommendations in order:
Persona 4
Persona 3
Lost Odyssey
Valkyria Chronicles
Tales of Vesperia.

The persona games are so unique, anyone who enjoyed pokemon when they were younger and likes JRPGs need to give them a try.
I started feeling old when I turned 21 and realized I had nothing more to look forward to in birthday milestones.

How are the later ones any different from the early ones?
Dead Rising is only outputting in 2.0 stereo, I have the 360 system settings set to 5.1. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: Got it. Just had to trick the system.
