Ya know.. just watched that new T6 trailer.. I have to say im insanely unimpressed. It looks way too much like Tekken 5 DR 1080p on the PSN. I hope to be blown away since i LOVE tekken so much. But right now SF4 looks to be the best looking next gen fighter, followed by KOF12. Also, the only KOF i ever got good at was KOF1 lol, how badly am i going to get owned with the new one?

I'm surprised they let you play. Alot of casinos won't let you get less than $100 in chips. It's not really a written rule but you saw what happened when you tried to play with less.

So according to the Capcom-Unity blog, the figures in the Collector's Editions of Street Fighter IV are made by NECA. There's also a line of Street Fighter action figures coming out by NECA and they just announced Ken.

Are these the same figures then? It would save me a lot of trouble of getting another CE just for C.Viper if I could just grab another action figure. I thought these were exclusive to the CEs.

All you need to do is dash in crouching lk x 2 while cyclops assisting and bam! Magnetic shockwave!

Works nice on the cpu, but against real players you'll have to be able to set up mags infinite off of clops assist too (which you do by cr lk x2 aa assist super jump RH ADDF then ROM it up son!)

Man i hate getting into matches against Guile using my Gief, its nearly impossible as long as they know how to turtle, which of course most guiles do. And tonight i ended up fighting against a legion of guiles and chun li's. It pissed me off so much i almost threw my controller at the wall. Once i get in, i can win, but they never let up enough! Argh! Gief is seriously WAY underpowered against guile. Its a bad bet in every way.

Also, i think playing at the am hours PST really brings out some really good people, played against some top people tonight, albiet a bunch of bastards. Im at 70 wins online i think now, almost got that achievement and never do a ranked match again.

Yah, most guile players play as if there is a gun to their head if they do not win. The roundhouse is a awesome weapon, but by the last round, the guile player learns to never stick his foot out and just sit there charging. If i get close enough, sonic boom. If i try to jump, sonic kick. The only time i get a chance is when they stick the leg out, but thats not very often once they learn they can just keep quiet and win that way.

I tried the running grab move (half circle + kick) and its so fast with roundhouse that sometimes i can sneak one in to throw off their balance, but it doesn't always work.

Anyhow, after i calmed down, i decided to play more and got many more wins. Im at 83 wins 48 losses. Almost there. My gief is something fierce, and i wish i could tell everyone i win against that im using the 360 d-pad that isnt even functioning 100% and makes weird click noises on the d-pad when i press down lol.

She does better against guile because she has better pokes than him. I beat a guy playing guile just by poking his crouching roundhouses. He wouldn't give up on it no matter how many times he got hit. I think he was used to winning easily with those simple tactics against other people.

with t.hawk when i play a good guile, i try to bait flash kicks by doing straight up j.jab at a distance, which beats it at the right range. and if i'm not doing that, i'm trying to poke with s.roundhouse, s.strong, and c.roundhouse. i try to pressure him into making a mistake and getting a knockdown.

There's a reason for that. Amongst the many, 2K2 ditched the Strikers idea. Character assists work for other games in the genre but not KOF.

Is the soundtrack you get in the Collectors Edition a CD, or just some kinda download gimmick? I'm a sucker for soundtrack CDs.

I noticed two things while playing it. One, Swim <3s the EX2, and two, I finally figured out while I've always liked The New Challengers better than ST. It's because in TNC everyone you faced in arcade mode had their default colors(Ken has his red uniform, Guile in green, etc.) where as in ST you get odd color choices like purple Chun-Li and blue Bison.

beef: here's the problem with brawl. every year smash has been expanding and since entry has been free (which may change this year, at my discretion), the tournaments have regularly been huge for that. last year it was 256 with a 100+ waiting list, so we normally run FFAs until we get it down to 16. so just warning you, it probably won't be typically tournament quality.

The focus attacks, revenge meter, super armor, and all that really change the pace of the game and reward taking risks and also give someone on their last leg really strong options to make a comeback.

I'd say third strike may be the best training for SFIV, and even then its pretty damn different, especially concerning the speed of jumps!

Gravity is a much more influential force in IV.




There is, however, a set of mugen characters using the third strike sprites that incorporate, for the most part, the movesets and systems from IV to train/mess around with. So I'd think those are your best bet.

It's worth it, but it's very, very, very, very hard to break into at this point. I've kinda come to grips with the fact that I'm as good as I'll ever get at the game. Philly has a really good Mahvel scene, so I had great competition at University Pinball. It's just so hard to break into because everyone is soooo good at it now.

Godspeed to you, though. It's a shame that there is no way for me to play you, because I could get you to a pretty competent level pretty fast. Just remember, one thing that you have to do in real play that you can't really practice for is make excellent use of your assists. That's one of the hardest things to get used to.

You have a way, way better chance of getting into something that is modern with online play (SF2HD, SF4, SC4, T6.)

Not to crush dreams, but you honestly can't get to that "next level" in a game without playing real people.

Er, well, while unoriginal, you'll undoubtedly get points for drawing Morrigan. The book may end up being saturated with her, but I can't really blame them for it.

Then again, maybe competition will be stiffer amongst Morrigan submissions because there will be so many entries.

You have plenty to choose from. If you're going for obscure, I'd stay away from the obvious. Talbain, Morrigan, Felicia, Lord Raptor, Donovan, and Demitri are all pretty recognizable.

Sasquatch is pretty obscure.

Of course, you could always just go for B.B.Hood. You probably can't NOT have fun with her. You could take Mr. Beef's idea above and incorporate B.B.Hood by making it HER lunch basket that they've stolen and are eating.

Best bet is to not get in those situations, but it's tough.

I feel much more confident in Sagat, Guile, and Blanka matches now though. Most XBL players that use them use shallow tactics as well. Vega is a whole different thing. Chun destroys him on the ground but it's basically Rock/Paper/Scissors when he jumps off the wall.
