Man, the leaderboards on the PS3 version of HD Remix are weird. I've got a record of about 600+/340-ish, and I'm all the way at the very bottom of the ladder. Meanwhile, someone with 400-ish wins and 600-ish losses is higher up than I am. Don't make no sense! But whatever. Got some good games in, and some ragequits, which are usually pretty funny. No hilarious loss messages sent my way, though.

This is no longer an ordinary shitty Tekken Ani Stick (as I'm sure you all can tell)...it's been modified with a Sanwa JLW-TM Legacy bat-top and Seimitsu's. This plus my trusty Pelican adapter means I'm ready for gameday...on the PS3 anyway. The 360 is another story, though I do have that 360XFPS, but I swear there is a touch of lag when I use that thing.

The sanwa jlw is a pos unless modded the spring is too stiff and there is way too much deadzone.

Solution move the leafs to the closer position cut them in half and cut 3 coils off the spring. Now it feels like a jlf with even less deadzone.

In all seriousness, I feel it truly is. When I was growing up in Hawaii (I'm Black/Irish/German Jew/French/Cherokee Indian BTW, but thaks to my indian heritage, I do look like I'm mixed with some kind of Asian), almost everyone was obsessed with dancing and had their own dance crews. I even had a dance crew....we called ourselves Public Figure.

Like once a month in '89-'91, this place called Aloha Tower would hold dance offs...they weren't as fancy as ABDC, but the competition was just as fierce. Up to 20+ groups from all over the island would show up with their mixes and routines and dance for cash prizes (not much...like $250 for 1st place). Each group had their own fans/cheering section. It was awesome. I was even approached in the mall a coupla times from being recognized from my crew...got my 1st girlfriend that way. Good times indeed.

Then after the competition when the floor was open for anyone to dance, the best dancers of each crew would end up 'battling", and those were ALWAYS off the chain.

So yeah, I stand by my statement, Having been born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii, I can honestly say that in my personal experience, the only thing Asians in my day cared more about than Street Fighter II was dancing.8-)

I'm going to! :) I just haven't decided HRAP EX or SFIV SE. Probably HRAP EX, since I've never had a real HRAP. I was going to dual mod my SFIV TE stick, but I always have my Sanwafied Namco for PS2 and everything else thanks to adapters. I'd probably get an SE stick, but I don't want to hunt one down, plus I'd have to weigh it down probably.

I just want something for 360.

Hopefully we can get the second to happen. Mostly because of what akuma001 said about A/V connections in hotel rooms nowadays. Maybe there is an arcade nearby that has FG games? (CVS2/MVC2?). Shit, I knew the Rio had A/V inputs on their TV's, I'd just lug along my PS2.

Going to start planning this a couple months before, maybe around May or so. If need be, I might try and front the money for the hotel room. Then whoever is coming (hopefully at least 3 more people) who want to have a room for the weekend can pay me when they arrive.

For example, Vega is "D" on that tier list. Thing is not too long ago I was at SJSU and saw NorCal's own Crizzle, tearing up fools left and right with him. Ended his Vega streak at about 18-19 wins.

Tiers matter sometimes, it depends on how balanced the game is. The fighters I know best are SF2 (especially Remix), Tekken 3, and Tekken 5. Even in Remix, which is an incredibly balanced game, the tiers stand out to me. I'm primarily a Blanka player, but Blanka kinda sucks in Remix.. so it takes a lot of effort for me to win against other strong characters. I'd say Blanka is my best guy even though I can probably win as many games with Honda. Honda is just super strong, and some of his setups are insanely good. I'm sure with other games that are even more unbalanced, tiers can be even more important. For example, hank and I played some SF3 today. The only characters I even had a shot with were Ken and Chun...

I have been playing the shit out of SF2HD lately as well and man, the crap players are nowhere to be found. I suck, but I have a certain ingrained level of skill that only comes with years of playing SF2 since the original release in the arcade (mediocre skill) and it seems like every match comes down to the last hit. as opposed to launch when every tom, dick, and Ryu was like "oh, Street Fighter, I remember that game I'm gonna go online and use the fireball!"

I love it.

oh, and it's also 'cause I made Fei Long my main and am abstaining from Shoto.

but damn, there are some nasty guiles out there. I try to play mind games to get them to use their charge, but it's hard to close the gap with Fei Long vs. Guile. The usual shit doesn't work quite as well. and some guy pulled off "Reversal Attack" after every single blocked hit with Zangief. Shit blew my mind...if anyone can explain how that happened, that'd be cool. :lol:

In T6 Steve was fine. He still had launchers on normal hit as well...

In T6BR he has been beefed up, one notable + is the hitbox on his f,f+2. It is a LOT bigger and allows him to rack up damage from more situations (for example) after CH FLK 1,d+1, and it KNDs them, he can tack on a f,f+2 B! and it looks so wrong but it hits!

Add to the fact that he has all his other tools (b+1, DR speed sways/cancels), Steve didn't get nerf'd at all. While the other top tier chars got nerfed considerably.

+ he has a low that gives him free followups now too.

No need to unlock Akuma, simply hit up at E. Honda (multi-player) or I think Guile in single-player. Either way, he requires no unlock.

I guess overcoming one's weaknesses takes a long time. Vega, Ken, and Ryu are at the top of that list for me.

I notice that Chun's standing RH tends to bitchslap incoming shoto roundhouses. Otherwise there's the standing MP if they're closer, but it's unreliable. Blocking on wakeup seems to be the best, it's just a tough trap to get out of, and basically a guessing game, esp. with ken's knee.

And also her new SBK is a better AA than I had first thought.

And SF4 chun is going to have a tough time with people who jump in from what I've been reading. Still seems to have beastly normals, though. I've always liked that about her.

akuma is kinda easy if you have really basic knowledge of sf

DP any jumpins including his air fireballs, do your little cross up combos and he's done

if you really want to learn how to play, make sure you know all your basics like combos and stuff, make sure you know your basics like tick throwing, wake up games, and that you can DP every free jump in that you get. and it's easy like that.

i was thinking about filming some basic tutorial videos of me playing people online. i think i can do it.

also Flash Kicking is a real dance move... my friend who tricks (who will be playing MarkMan in my film) has shown me some real moves called the "Dhalsim" and the "M. Bison/Psycho Crusher". He's done the flash kick alot from his fun time demos.

One of each (PS3/360), as I had both preordred. The Fed Ex truck literally rolled in just as I stepped into the store. My girl got me one of them for Valentine's (gave me a $150 Game Crazy GC, or GCgc lol), and I ponied up for the other one. I almost didn't get the PS3 one because I was being nice and one other person preordered the PS3 stick, but the manager called him to pick it up and he said that he would just wait for the next shipment.

Id say about 60% of the time i run into lagless matches online, the other 40% are mixed with slight lag, major input lag, choppy gameplay and outright unplayable. The worst is the input lag sessions, since you do a command and it doesnt happen for a second later, letting scrubs uppercut you to no end. Id say a good 30% of my online losses account due to that garbage. Sometimes everything just falls into place and its smooth sailing.

Quarter matches CANNOT get here soon enough.
