finally played the KoF98 trial... damn... I forgot how much I loved that game. I think it's the only 2D fighter I ever felt like they finally nailed that it feels like ur landing powerful hits that do damage... Kinda why I love Tekken. Sadly, post 98, KoF seems to not retain whatever it was that 98 did... maybe it was the screen flashes.

I am now split on weather I should use my 800 pts I got free on it, or save it, get it on PS2 and then save the 800 for the upcoming Ninja Turtles game... I need help >_<

For axc, something one of our players found out this week.

I just found out some bogus crap with Seth's c.fierce -> Ultra...

If you c.fierce but execute the Ultra before the opponents back is level (as in parallel to the bottom of the screen) it will NOT do the 6% increased damage while inside his stomach, it will only do the 150 damage when he spits you into the camera.

Only if you do his Ultra when the opponent is level in the air, or falling to the ground will it do the full damage... Which is probably why you see people surprised when it actually ends up killing someone.

After extensive testing (All shotos, Sagat, Zangief, Rufus, Bison, Balrog, Chun-Li, Blanka, Honda, Dhalsim), I found out this applies to almost all the cast except for Sagat. I don't know why he's special (thank god because Seth needs to get a full Ultra damage vs. Sagat in the first place), but it just seems stupid for it to happen in the first place...

So far I'm liking BlazBlue. The Soundtrack is pretty awesome as well(It'd just be nice if they included a track listing for the soundtrack that comes with it).

I'm also debating on getting a stick for my PS3 since I'm probably going to pick up a few more fighters for the system. I was going to get that Tekken 6 stick bundle but it seems my money is already spent for the month it comes out... I kind of wanted that artbook too. But since Amazon is about to get those SF4 TE Stick back in stock I'm thinking about getting one of those instead. Although I'm not really a fan of the artwork for that one.

I'm tired of all those fucking Sagat players. Lets make some real change.

Ryu had EVIL RYU. Ken had VIOLENT KEN. Akuma has Shin Akuma. Why not giving one to Dan and calling him SERIOUS DAN? These are the modifications I would do.

1. His Gadouken now goes full screen AND he can pump them out faster then Sagat

2. His Koryuken now has no windup and goes straight up. The invincibility frames are more then Ken's Shoryuken and immediately gets Ken out of his Shoryuken.

3. Each Taunt he does not only raises his offensive power, but increases his defense power while decreasing his enemies defense and offensive abilities.

4. The DankuKyaku Kick when done in the air with low kick will do a straight drop down kick that does not float for an instant and instead will instantly go down with a very aggressive kick.

5. Dan's Coward run now covers the entire screen. No need to do two or three coward runs, also coward run is now called MOVING WITH GUSTO.

6. Dan's Burai Ken now has 500% more smiling and 200% more damage output.

7. Dan's Ultra now has two times more invincibility frames and goes through every super with ease. The move will now consist of him smiling at his opponent and them taking massive damage. Akuma takes 2.5x more damage because of his jealousy towards Dan's great teeth.

8. Dan only turns serious against Ryu/Ken/Akuma and Sagat.When Serious, he also gains muscle mass compared to the somewhat flabby state he's usually in.

Yeah. Lets make that happen and stuff. I imagine Serious Dan to look something akin to this

So I switched to Hakumen as a main for now. Despite his short comings pretty fun, only grip I have is his f.c doesn't hit grounded toons:-k. I don't recall it not hitting in the arcades and a few people I talked to at dl are pretty sure it hit as well. Wonder if this is a glitch or a change made for consoles.

BlazBlue is incredible. I don't know how many times this must be said, but I'll say it again.

I seriously didn't give a rat's ass about Guilty Gear but something about Blaz Blue sucks me in. Everything from the Battle Fantasia type progression in story to the general game play. Now I most certianly suck at Blaz Blue but glad I invested it especially since some of the SE's are selling out and the standard ships in a few weeks.

I look forward to KOF but I suck so bad at KOF It's going to mainly for eye candy.

It's kinda funny that my best game was DOA and everyone jokes about it as a serious fighter. I wanted to kick a lot as Hworang this year but I might have to hold off my Tekken purchase till Jan/Feb due to funds and my wanting for COD and L4D2 :(

Also, Battle Fantasia is not a bad game at all but wasn't worth the $50 I paid for it some time back. It's probably the weakest fighting game I own on the 360 in terms of price paid and usage. Should have been like a $30 game and might have sold some more copies to.

I haven't even opened my PS3 copy yet, but if the ps3 scene is dead I can hook the system back up at my place.

I really think Noel was made for d mashing. 5 combo strings all starting with d and her three other combo's can all end in a d string or can be canceled out into a d string. On top of having frame advantage when she starts any d string its just crazy. Pretty sure Tao is the only one who can brake them at the start with her down a, maybe Bang also with his d.b not sure.

Online really is great, not having to go to the arcades to play friends is very nice since time can be very limited. But I love story mode so well done.

Yes and no. Keep in mind at the start of Noels D she is invincible for about 3 frames, making it very safe to use. Two of her moves are chain brakes also when in drive, being Optic Barrel, and Bloom Trigger. Her moves also flow better while using her drive while grounded and finishing off air strings with D, making her combos " true " ( combo count stays bright red ) able to dish out full damage.

It's pretty easy to combo Noel up to 23-27 hits, but if they are not true combos it is kinda a waste with how diminishing returns works.

i use 2d a lot for an overhead, if it actually hits overhead you get a combo.

you can only chain into a d with the BC throw cancels or with an RC.

5d does have a few decent combos too and it's a decent poke. you can get like, 5d-6c-214a-2b-6c-jc 214c.

i still want to learn nu. and maybe rachel. top tier ftw.

One I saw backbone doing the port, my heart dropped. I'm going to dismiss it as crap until proven otherwise. MvC2 is awesome, but backbone is not. I still however want to try KoFXII even though BB kicks ass.

With Blaz out, is everyone going to already forget about MvC2?
Honestly, I never liked MvC2. I never got why people like that game so much. Yeah the roster of characters is cool, but the gameplay just never felt right with me. I still own it on DC, and have no plans to get it when it comes out as DLC.

Just got done getting the true ending in BB. So hot, tied up some story links but also made it so things are going to be so fucked up in BB2. I expect this type of plot in an rpg not a fighting game. I think BB just replaced the GG series for me.

You get used to it, you can practice on me some time if you want. I need to get some practice with Bang.
