Almost all the characters except for double fireball movement distortions. Don't know if I'm doing them wrong, hitting the button too early/late, not doing it fast enough.

When I do the 632146+button it'll come out maybe 25% of the time.

Are you using a stick or pad? Ether way you might be getting online lag or just not pulling it off in time. Hit up the training mode and just keep doing your combos endning with the DD till motion memory sets in, only advice I can give.

Is that MvC2 remix rap song the new shit we have to hear? If so I would rather have the old crappy song.

The review for MvC2 is up on IGN. 9.0 for PS3, 8.7 for 360. 360 scored lower due to frame-rate drops on the character selection screen and at the beginning of fights(I believe this is what they said -- I can't get the 360 review to load ATM, for some reason).

I can't say for certain, but that's what some people on neogaf suggested doing. Apparently once you install the patch, the Install Option in the actual game doesn't work anymore since it's redundant. This is all stuff I've read and not stuff I've done first hand, so take it with a grain of salt.

so after all my xbox live experience, here's my Litchi matchup data IMO of the ppl I end up fighting the most.

Noel: 5-5
Jin: 5-5
Tager: 7-3
v-13: 3-7
Arakune: 1-9

fukk Arakune lol.

the only other characters I get into good matches with are Hakuman and Taokaka.

I dont really yet understand the Hakuman matchup, but Tao I wanna say is 4-6 or 3-7 since I get raped hard by her, and her rushdown is much more menacing than Jin and Noel.

other than that, it's funny coz I play Blanka and Litchi is the exact same playstyle!!

basically turtle all day until u either can capitalize on a mistake or see a window to apply pressure, except Litchi has much more options and doesnt suck like Blanka does. =P

There was a glitch with Clark's Super throw on... I think it was Ash, before the game released, that was like this.

If you experience the Raiden/Beth glitch, just keep doing a sweep. Eventually, you'll know her out of it.

Just picked up MvC2 myself earlier today. Only MvC I've ever played honestly was the first back in the hey day of the PS1 when it first came out. So not used to the system at all. Guess I need to read up some and get my ass handed to me and figure it out from there. But like zew, I could use a few pointers as well

In general, you want to use your assists to create openings, whether they use an anti-air, or make your opponent stop moving. When it comes to tagging out, most people tend to either use 1) a Delayed Hyper Combo to switch out, or 2) a Counter Tag.

Something is fucked in my TE stick. The RT button stopped responding mid-match twice during one session of MvC2. Gotta e-mail Mad Catz customer service and prey they don't split hairs over the warranty.

That's a common problem with them. A quick fix would be to reroute the LB wires to the RT button, and just remap whatever you play. I did that, but I plugged the right two holes.

So FGT, I come to you! Tekken Tag Tournament was $2 at K-Mart and I couldn't help myself. So I got around to playing it today and... I am doing horribly. I never played the older Tekkens so I'm not really used to any characters besides Asuka and Lili. I decided to just do random characters to try and find one I kinda liked but it wasn't working that well. I used a little Yoshimitsu and he seemed like a guy i could get behind but... any suggestions?

Top tier was established because these characters do basic things better than others. Magneto and Storm are fast and have very good mobility. Mags has ROM combo, Storm has hailstorm DHC which does a ton of damage and takes up a lot of space. Sentinel is the most mobile character in the game and can do crazy things with his flying.

Cable has AHVBx3.

After that, you have your assist characters. Psylocke and Cyclops are good because they have super high priority anti-airs that set up combos. CapCom takes up a lot of space and can finish a lot of combos.

There's a couple other ones, like Tron's (Projectile? I think) where it does broken damage for no reason. Dr. Doom is good for trapping since it's difficult to hit him, and he puts rocks everywhere. Sentinel ground is good because it takes up space, Sentinel projectile is a nice punch to the gut from full screen. It's key to have a good assist, whether it be anti-air or zoning, that usually determines how you play. The secondary assist is okay with whoever you use like cable AA, storm proj., but generally you want one really good assist.

Try not to tag out. Best way to tag is with DHC or with counter, because they are safe.

Low tier is low tier because they are often slow and are not as mobile and have poor range / assists compared to top tier.

And I think that's it. Learn to play top tier, call assists frequently, do your combos. I was never around to learn the craziest of Sentinel stuff or even the whole snapback/assist kill...

Cyclops, commando and psylocke are also good because they have a ton of invincibility on their assists. Cyclops is excellent because not only is his assist great, but he can go toe to toe with all of the top tier characters and do well, even without meter. Cables AA assist is great but it has almost no invincibility, so you need to watch whats going on before you use it, it does come out hella fast though.

The biggest problem with commando and psylocke is that they are the two best assists in the game, but as characters they are totally bad. Psylocke is better than commando, but she takes more damage than Magneto (who takes like 115% or something). She has great mobility, decent combos, and a projectile that works ok for keepaway. Her snapback is really really good too, probably her best move.

Commando though......is just bad, he has some super setups and a good jumping fierce, but if he's all you got left against any top tier characters you've basically lost already.

Storm sentinel cyc is a great team.

Doom has a bad ground game because he's slow, but he has a good wavedash and can cover a wide area well if you use sentinels drones assist effectively. He prettymuch dominates the air.

I would use cyclops over him, he's just so good and has so many things going for him. He's a meter building machine, his jumping roundhouse is super fast, builds tons of meter, and is almost unbeatable in the air. Just work on his super combos and you'll have a viable character in no time.

Thanks Heavy. Yeah Cyclops is just a beast I am starting to like him a lot. I think he and Storm will be keepers while I might still play around with a third. I was liking Silver Samurai till I saw how much meter he eats to be good.

Has never taken that long for me Rod, most it has ever taken is maybe a min to get a ranked match. Have only done player the morning it came out with Jim and a few others from here so no idea what the wait is like for that.
Everything I learned is outdated in terms of tactics, btw, because I played when the game out. I left when Sentinel was getting REALLY good, which was also before unfly and refly was discovered.

Dr. Doom anti-air assist is good so if you want to use him go ahead. It's more of a zoning assist than a GTFO anti-air. You see him paired with Strider because it is the best trapping assist and is the only way to make Strider viable.

As for playing him, I dunno much other than C.HP makes a great anti-air (which you'll then realize, people can do ROMs yet they forget about being anti-aired by your character), and his air super does a ton of chip and leaves you reasonably safe to DHC.

Has never taken that long for me Rod, most it has ever taken is maybe a min to get a ranked match. Have only done player the morning it came out with Jim and a few others from here so no idea what the wait is like for that.

I was just trying to do some random matches. I haven't played any friends yet. Maybe it's my end.

Non MVC2 related - The KOFXII patch seemed to work. Didn't get any lag. And FYI every character has a secret acheivment. You have to beat Arcade mode only using one character the entire time without losing. It's nice challenge even on easy and gives me at least a reason to play single player.

Yeah, I mainly played Ralf and Clark for a bit in practice and damn... they are horrible. Clark isn't clark with half of his moves missing.

Ralf sure got beefed up with steroids but it made his moveset smaller.

I'm never gonna get that 50 One Character Victory Achievement in MvC2. :-(

So far I only have 18 of them, and it's taking forever since I refuse to use God Tier characters. That and rage quitters... dear god, how I hate rage quitters. I've lost about 5 potential OCVs over rage quitters. Man up and take a loss, willya?

At least rage quitters still count as wins most of the time. 181 win-82 loss here.

50 1 toon wins is something I am not even going to try. Just not that good. I also am confused by the snapback wording, do I just need to do twenty snapbacks or twenty with different teams? Kinda scary but just took a look, Heavy is at 21 one toon wins, what a monster.

Ragequiters don't bother me any more, had to deal with a lot of them in SFIV and a lot in BB just don't care. Kinda funny was playing a few games last night and my powerflickered during a storm while I was in a match, said hell with it and went to bed not thinking much of it, but seems the guy I was playing left a nice message. Doesn't seem to matter when people got into MvC2 it is one hyper bunch.

hahah B:L, if only it were that simple. I kept on getting paired up against GOLBA LOVES, who plays Rogue, Cable and Captain Commando. Out of 3 matches, I managed to kill his Rogue once (and that's the only character I took out in all 3 matches.)

Granted, he's ranked #12 overall, but it is still rage inducing. RAGE INDUCING.

I got 100 Ranked Wins though, so I'm done with Ranked for awhile. I'll come back to try and get 50 solo character victories eventually. I think I have around 20 or something.

haha! That guy was pissing me off too. Never played against a good Rogue before, and he was doing a shit load of damage on me from what looked like a basic combo (even to Sentinel).

I was kinda wondering if he was using a hack or something but that's a scrub mentality so I just kept playing and trying different ways of countering him (so far, none of it's worked).

Rogue can get a powerup from kissing, but she does decent damage anyways. She also has some sick resets with Tron, and I assume Commando, and has a pretty nasty mixup game.

Dammit, people need to hit the damned A button when people enter ranked match rooms. Damn it's pissing me off. They need to release a patch where the match starts automatically in 5 seconds instead of waiting for both players to hit A in ranked matches. I have spent more time waiting, and seeing a player leave than actually playing ranked matches. :bomb:

Is it that fucking hard to hit A?

Actually, I think it's kind of arbitrary. The 360 seems to be trying to sync up during this period or something because it's definitely not waiting for both players to hit A.

I've been in a Ranked Room as challenger and it started without me pressing anything.

I played BB last night for the first time last night half awake after a 14 hour drive...

still need to lay it more while more awake, but after an hour, I have to say something:

Purely from a visual standpoint, people here in FGT going batshit for BB sprites vs KoFXII sprites... they're both loaded with jagged pixels so now the KoFXII graphics bashing makes less sense to me besides the stage graphics...

KoFXII sure does have alot of jaggies and lower rez but BB is at a higher rez with jsut as many or more jaggies........?

From what I understand, it has to be within 20 teams. And the reason there's that stipulation is because they can only record as far back as your 20 most recent teams on tu4ar.com. :bomb:

I'm not entirely sure that it still retains the record of one of your old teams once it drops off the 20... like if you reused them, maybe their record would come back up? Once I realized that was the case, I pretty much stuck to a few teams in ranked until I got the Achievement.

played more Blaz today and more impressions from someone who didn't care for it initially:

I'm enjoying it, but not as much as I was hoping.

Online is a blast though I do suck... but I do suck for one reason other than my skill:

I can't find a character that plays in a style I like. The closest guy I can use that I'm maining is Nakorumo (I forget his name) and I still suck hard with him.

besides that there's alot to do in the game but I do feel Guilty Gear has and will probably always have longer legs than Blaz for me.

After seeing what Aks did with BB, I look forward to either a sequel with a character I'd actually like playing (lol) or a new GG (not an add-on plz).

but yeah, basically it's a huge anime fan and combo freak's wet dream.

It was kinda funny when SFIV came out and all you played against was Ken, but now it's getting stupid.

anyway, later on I match up against 2 GB Combo!!!

aka, the dood who peaced me out of evo.

I see what you mean after playing him a bit, but I honestly still don't like him as my main.

He's pretty much the shoto of the game and probably the most user friendly...

I think I just have to put more playtime into the game to find the person I enjoy playing and so far Arakune is the most comfortable character I've played.

also, after playing the game I can finally understand why you love Litchi so much... her story portrait alone is win IMHO. She also seems fun to play, but I've never liked playing characters that have to setup their weapons in certain places (aka Donovan from Darkstalkers).

Also, I thought you were talking about me for a second Jekki. I was thinking, of course he has similar play style to me because I use him!

Is it weird that I hate Blazblue yet find King of Fighters XII incredibly entertaining? I just can't get into Blazblue for some reason. The characters irritate me, the fighting style reminds me of MvC2 for some reason and I feel an overwhelming sense of shame every time my friends talk about how cool Rachel is in the game. Is there something that I'm missing?
