The game boy micro is great, uses the same screen that the top of the DS uses. Very crisp, clean and nice detail despite its small size. Fantastic D-pad as well, the only negative thing i can say about the system is the shoulder buttons take a little getting used to.

Right here, QFT. All of it. That's why reviews of fighters are always taken lightly for me if done by somebody who isn't into fighters.

It takes more than a few hours to pass judgment on any fighter IMO. It takes a long time, unless it outright sucks ass. ;)

Seventh, I feel your pain KainZero. I only really play ST on GGPO, but I'm super streaky. If I can keep it close, it's over. One mistake though can cost you 1/3 to 1/2 your life in that game though, which is tough.

Eighth, I might pick up a new character for HD Remix besides Boxer / Dictator. I'm thinking Vega or Guile. (I pretty much play everyone though, just saying I might roll w/ one of those guys @ Evo this year)

Ninth, only one more semester of school till I'm a teacher! Pretty good feeling.

Edit: Just played some dude in ST on GGPO. He was Ryu, playing him the way I have trouble against that I mentioned earlier. Lost 3 out of the 4 matches I was Balrog, and then I picked Ryu and beat him convincingly in Round 1 using the same strat. He quit after round 1! lol

Also Hank I'm glad you agree with my statement. I met a guy at a get together (that our very own FG Kristianator set up) who kept talking shit in general and to me, but wouldn't play me. He would openly mock that myself, Kris and our friend Dan would talk frames/start-up in certain games. When I asked him to play me in MOTW, he kept backing out, which then I openly called him out for not backing up his talk.

I don't mind new people getting into fighting games, I am just annoyed with ones like that who mock those of us who play competitively and constantly learn to get better. I also get annoyed with those who are scrubby and talk to others like they know it all, but mostly talk to people who aren't competitive and can't correct them :)

Loved doing it on Security using smokes to go through the laser barrier.

However, any time I lose in this game, it's always lag's fault. Lost a shotgun battle? Lag. Got chainsawed? Lag. One time I melee'd someone who was coming at me with a chainsaw and he still didn't get stunned. Fuck lag. Also, fuck lag for making my hammerburst shots miss.

That's DoA4 though, and I don't think I've ever had a DoA4 online match that wasn't laggy.

I've had ones that were outright slide shows and ones with seconds of lag, so just being laggy is probably the best you can get with that game. ;)

Played some DOA4 last night with the EX2. I love that game, but the counter system needed to be scaled back to the old system because of the increased speed. The mistakes made with DOA4 really makes me antsy for Team Ninja to fix them when they hopefully make DOA5. Itagaki leaving could be the change the series has needed.

Actually, looking at the SF2HDR Package, it's not nearly as impressive as I thought it was. I couldn't see any pictures at my workplace, hence my excitement, but now it doesn't seem so grand. It just lacks the exclusivity that I would've expected from a limited to 300 product.

First of all, the comic book is available at all comic shops. It's no different from the retail one that was shipped two months ago or so. The packaging for it is covered in art that was used for the Street Fighter Tribute book or the Udon's Art of Capcom book. AND the Chun Li figure is the same one they've been trying to get rid of for quite some time now, if I remember correctly. The Ryu headband is the same one given away as a pre-order bonus for Street Fighter IV at Gamestop (and if I read correctly, was given out to people at certain conventions). And then there's the magnets... who the hell cares about magnets? Seriously?

That leaves the disc... which I'm sure will not warrant the price tag. I was expecting something much cooler and along the lines of the Mega Man 9 Kit. This package doesn't even come with the game... not that I care that much because by the time it ships I'll have already bought the game on Live/PSN, but still. Having a hard copy of the game is just for awesomeness sake.

I actually played some T5DR online with one of my PSN friends the other day, and it was probably the best it has been, lag wise. I had some good matches.

In the best of lag, it's definitely playable but still a different from an offline experience. It's just that it sometimes seems like the factors that affect lag are random. I can have an excellent connection with someone one match, and the next time around in the same session it'll be lagtastic. Even when my friends in Cali and Seattle were playing DR on a nightly basis, we would just all randomly have good lag nights and bad lag nights. Ah, well, if you guys ever want to play some DR and see me online, just hit me up, but I don't think I'll be hosting any Tekken nights in the near future.

Yeah, I definitely agree, it's a different experience having any lag vs. playing somebody sitting next to you. And it does seem random. Hopefully Tekken 6 will have better online, because I'll be disappointed if it's the same laggy shit.

Good lord. I'm not very good at SFHD. Still, it's awesome and while I only won 2 out of like 9 matches, those wins felt good. I'm debating who to work with. I like Guile's new forward travelling flash kick but beyond all that, man he doesn't seem very good even in Remix. On the other hand, I've had some luck with Blanka.

I've always disliked charge moves. Have you tried to pull off Guile's flash kick?! Full training session required for just that move. Pulling it off is hard enough, but using it effectively is another.

Charge moves do however shake up the commands between fighters, so they do have there place. It's just a matter of getting the timing down, that all. 8-)

I'm no ST expert (CVS2 is my baby) but this is what I've thought of it so far...

-Love the presentation. Though sometimes I feel like I'm looking at a flash game, I really see the love that went into redoing all of the characters/backgrounds. The Character Select art is rad and sprites look great (Sagat is rad looking)

-I haven't read much on the HD balances/tweaks, but I have to mention Remix Sagat is hilarious. At first I thought you could only Tiger Knee RH into a weaker Tiger Knee. I was completely wrong and you can actually RH Tiger Knee into another RH Tiger Knee right after. I seriously laughed every time I did it while playing online tonight.

-Netcode is buggy. I had a lot of trouble connecting to random players tonight through Quick Play or Quickly Play Scoreboard. I didn't have any trouble though playing against CAG's that invited me to rooms at all. I won't complain about lag because that is to be expected with online play. Gotta except it's not going to be perfect (minus GGPO :))

P.S- Honda's Oichi throw gets annoying quick

I have to be awake for work at 4am and I can't stop playing this shit, if that is any indication how fun it is. It'll keep me busy until I get my hands on SFIV (no more 2 hour trips to SJSU!)

God fucking dammit. It sounds like the PS3's online is fucked compared to the Xbox version... fuck. I don't wanna get a glitchy version of the game, but I'd also like to enjoy it by using a controller that's not a complete fucking mess assembled by the dirty people of Azerbaijan. I'm questioning whether or not I even want it now.
Rly? i was playing it at my friend's house and we had no problems with the PS3 one (but we have FIOS) . I was planing to get both but now ill get just the ps3 one since im so fucking pissed that my 360 is overheating again. fuck, looks like on going on 360 #9 pretty soon XD! Plus, the d-dap feels like something i'd fnd at the 99cents store.

i wouldnt go that far. i guess me and JEKKI are the only ones not having problems. I'd take a slightly inferior game thats controller is grear than a superior one that has a fucked controller (yea i know you can mod it but fuck it)

I didn't have any problems with online play in the PS3 version. Of the ~10 matches I played, I probably averaged a ping of 50. Back in my WoW days, I was lucky to get a ping of 200 with the same router, modem, etc.

Anyone have some advice on a 3rd party game controller that has a good d-pad? I don't even care if it's wired or not. The only thing is that I DON'T want an arcade stick. I grew up playing home versions of SFII on the SNES, not playing the arcade version. Arcade sticks have never felt good to me. :(

I did buy a Mad Catz controller for this purpose a while ago but voice chat over the thing was AWFUL, and then the analog sticks broke after a short while. Any advice?

Played ~ 18 matches on 360 today. Last I checked I was Ranked #62 on the leaderboards.

I got to play against the guy that's ranked #2 overall 3 times (Mad Possum) and he beat me all 3 times. I did get a round on him two of the three matches though.

I also played against the guy ranked #26, and beat him. It was a good match.

Also, been working on the achievement for winning a ranked match with all the characters, and I already got my T-Hawk and 'Gief wins outta the way, which I thought would be the hardest! Also got 'Rog, Bison, Vega, Honda and Ken done.

When we play online, there seems to be an understanding between specific types of players on what's acceptable and what's not (cheap kills, etc). For example, n00b tubing in COD4 is looked down upon for teh l33t players. Why? In all honesty, I think these type of weapons/methods that anger gamers bridge the gap between beginners and skilled players. Chainsawing a fool in Gears 1 can be annoying because once the animation occurs, it's a guarenteed kill regardless of anything else that takes place-- a frag going off nearby, teammate shooting the enemy...bleh. It can be frustrating especially when you cut around a sharp corner and there's a dude waiting around the other side with his Lancer reving. But is this something that's unfair?

Learning to use every method at your disposal to win is a just practice. Once you become experienced enough to differentiate between what's "cheap" and what-not, well... I think that's when you'll want to refrain. But until then, saw away!

So basically, I hate SFII HF. Hate it. Never liked it. So I never really spent any time playing ST at all. And I hated Anniversary, too, because it was a mishmash of shitty SFII games.

HD Remix is fucking great. Shit plays so damn smoothly. It just makes perfect sense. And I definitely love the fresh coat of paint as well as the new music. I was really worried that the game would end up looking like a flash game when it's in motion, but that's definitely not the case - it just looks right. And the matches I played with hankme were completely lag free. It was amazing. It was fantastic. And this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to try and learn SFII. So clearly, this is a fantastic game, and definitely worth the $15.

Though yeah, the 360 controller can suck my dick. Thing is such a piece of shit.

I felt like a dick halfway through our matches. Remix Sagat's Tiger Knee is silly (as I'll mention every 2 sentences nowadays) but it can be punished. Sometimes I'll risk it and bait out to Tiger Knee as an AA, other times it just gets stuffed.

Sagat, Dictator, Sim, Blanka and Claw....have to be my absolute favorite characters to play so far.

Also if I run into one more Ryu, Akuma and Ken online......:)
