TvC comes out on the 11th, but Hong Kong always gets it a few days to a week early.

Maybe! The last time I checked was maybe 1-2 days ago.

Last time I checked I was 133-55. I haven't been able to check since I haven't updated my PS3 with the new System Update.

I really want to import TvC, but as many have mentioned it would be expensive to import due to various reasons.

Also Yami is sort of a lame choice for a last boss. I remember being tremendously disappointed when I got to the end of Okami and ran into Yami. It has different forms such as a big bubble/ball thing and so on. Think of "Master Hand" from Smash but only more lame.

Too bad the last boss of TvC wasn't Orochi from Okami. How sick would that be?

Gamestop is not getting an artbook. They're getting a Ryu headband that was given out at a convention for free to people before... basically getting leftovers. They were getting an artbook, but canceled it because of printing conflicts or something (although I heard this from a GS manager, so take it with a grain of salt).

I read somewhere that Capcom is starting up a partnership with Gamecrazy and that just pisses me the hell off. There are no Gamecrazies in my area, but there are Gamestops everywhere.
And if they do an awesome preorder bonus at different places, it'll suck. I don't want to have to buy the game at three places to get all the goodies.

I think I'm just whiny and bitchy because we've not been getting any substantial information about Capcom releases. No news on the Limited Editions of Street Fighter or Resident Evil. No news on preorder bonuses. No news on the sticks or the pads. And by the time we get this info, I will have already wanted to preorder. Just tell us what we need to know, goddamnit.

SF4 and RE5 are my most anticipated games of this year/next year and I know squat about where I should order them and what I should order WITH them. That's an issue.

I wasn't aware of the tiers in CvS2, I haven't been into fighters for awhile, I became a FPS guy, but all these fighting games make me think about jumping into the foray again.

I also loved using Rock, he was the man in that game, but Kyosuke was pretty fun to use also.

Yeah, she's good. Fast movement, good poke game, standing HK into super, practically unpunishable specials if spaced well, and smaller frame.

If I remember correctly, Bison (Dictator), Sagat, and Blanka rounded out the top tier.

Yea she was fun to use, god I hated Sagat and Blanka, Sagat especially.
The one thing I remember from that game was Shin Akuma (CPU) was friggin' hard to beat, but I'm not that amazing at fighters either.

She's high tier. She's an absolute beast in K or C. I've seen lots of great/local players run her in P as well.

Tiers in CVS2 work a little differently than other fighting games, mostly because the same character in a groove that doesn't benefit them, will be worse than one that does.

Rock was probably the one character I had ever really learned in any fighting game because he was just awesome, plus he can punish a whole slew of moves just with a high counter (or was it the mid counter, I forget...), and his deadly rave is sooooo fun to pull off, sometimes I liked to go right into a raging storm just for the hell of it.

I wasn't aware of the tiers in CvS2, I haven't been into fighters for awhile, I became a FPS guy, but all these fighting games make me think about jumping into the foray again.

I also loved using Rock, he was the man in that game, but Kyosuke was pretty fun to use also.Rock is ridiculous fun to use, but since I've been concentrating on Yun, my Rock-ness has dropped a lot. :(

She's high tier. She's an absolute beast in K or C. I've seen lots of great/local players run her in P as well.

Tiers in CVS2 work a little differently than other fighting games, mostly because the same character in a groove that doesn't benefit them, will be worse than one that does.Absolutely. regarding cvs2, my execution is atrocious in that game and since i play a-groove sak bison hibiki, not being able to do a-groove combos is killing me =)

but hibiki's got all sorts of setups that i have yet to learn. anti-air, before throw, after throw, command counter, going through projectiles... and i can't even learn the basic one...

I run A-Groove mostly nowadays as well. One some days my RC/CC execution is dead on and I'm a happy man. Other days I'm yelling and I feel like an idiot :)

K/C for Joe. If you start running K, you might have to abandon Yun all together. That foo gains absolutely nothing from K. Yun pretty much lives and breathes in C though.

Learn Sagat as your anchor (cr. FP = your friend) and you'll have 2/3 of your K team already :)

Tekken 6 developer Namco is “considering” platform-specific characters for its next beat-em-up instalment, similar to the Star Wars setup used by Soul Calibur IV, the developer has told CVG.

Speaking in an interview in London, game director Katsuhiro Harada said that although development focus is yet to shift from the Arcade version, Namco is already pondering downloadable content for consoles.

“We’re still working on the Arcade version, so there are no concrete plans [for the console versions] at the moment,” Harada said.

When quizzed on the chances of exclusive PS3 and Xbox 360 characters, the Tekken man said it could be quite difficult.

“Of course we would like to have something - as far as downloadable content goes - specific to platform. However on the other hand it is quite difficult to get Microsoft and Sony to sign off on having differences between the platforms,” he said.

“It is something we’re considering, but it is pretty difficult.”

Tekken 6 has just been dated for Autumn 2009.

to whoever asked how to beat honda:

i use shoto and it's much easier if you have a projectile. keep him out with projectiles but make sure to vary the timing or use fake hadokens. if he jumps, anti-air. if he does butt slam or you bait jab torpedo you can walk up to him and sweep xx fireball and reset the distance. jab torpedo is only good if he predicted it and hits the fireball at the end of his torpedo.

once he gets in, try to push him back out. sweep xx fireball, a throw, or a knockdown, or psychic dp... something. compared to vanilla ST, honda has much less options up close because the threat of safe ochio throw is gone. the key is to vary your fireball timing and make sure you don't become predictable... you'd be surprised at how predictable you can be.

ggs to djbooba. i think i played you on ranked before? good stuff... i think my DPs were getting too predictable though, and i kept getting scissored when i'd press forward for a split second =)

ggs to rodimus, i remember your zangief was a beast when we tried to get a room going. i've been practicing my zoning so i was ready.

also the thing I have most trouble with is jumping characters! a lot of the stuff I try doing against them whiffs and leaves me hella open. Also crossups are a bitch since I'm always charging, u cross me up and I lose my back charge and thus lose an attack option.

like asianxcore, I went like 3-17 with him, dood murdered me coz he kept jumping forward-kick. I eventually was able to counter it with a straight jump up roundhouse, but like it only worked in that one situation.

I also get killed by good Vega players a lot too, and throw setups always hurt me (altho I hurt ppl with throw setups as well!).

to be honest tho, I lose all my mirror matches... like ALL of them! I'm so ashamed lol.

the thing is, it's depressing since I wanna learn this character and am struggling with when these 4 doods who are at the arcade like all the time kick so much ass already... and 2 of them can use Litchi hella good!!

The best thing that came out of that game was Violent (lol) Ken. I still want it for my collection, but I can't pick it up knowing that it's not backwards compatible. God knows why SNK didn't approve a PS2 version of the game.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2 is a spectacular game. I've spent countless hours on it. If you can get a deal on it (ie, watch for coupons, price drops, ebay cashback), I'd definitely recommend picking it up. It's leagues better than SvC, even though that had its charm.

I do too ,but SvC Chaos is still fun to play around with. I like how they re-did some of the characters animation, namely Balrog's stance. And for some reason Capcom is afraid to use anyone from the Darkstalkers series besides Morrigan. It was nice to see SNK throw in Demitri instead.

You can always pick up the Playstation One copies and play them on a PS3/PS2. Don't have to worry about dumb backwards compatibility issues with PSX games. I believe I have Darkstalkers 3 buried around somewhere.

Took a look and saw Street Fighter: The Movie The Video Game in a giant old school PSX case. Bought it off of him for $5. I couldn't resist. I dunno if its just me, but on SNK games the hadouken shoryuken motions seem to come out better with the input as forward, neutral, down, down-forward instead of the usual way: forward, down-forward, down, down-forward or forward, down, down forward. I honestly prefer f, n, d, d-f, I dunno why... Though I sure as hell can't get away with that in Capcom games.

I was rooting for Pac, though I can understand why De La Hoya threw in the towel. I'd rather go out with a forfeit than be knocked out. I can't believe how many clean left straights he took. He's already extremely old for that sport and he should retire before he does anymore damage to his image. Manny sure is looking sharper (much more ripped than before), I wonder who he's going to fight next.

to consistently pull off DP I do like a real wide motion,

hit the forward, then go to like down-back to down-forward instead of from down to down-forward.

square gates help a lot, you can just ride the bottom of them

hmm weird, I've always done the "f,(n,)d,df" for dragon punches with no problem. I mentally think of it as a "tap" forward (i.e. pushing forward and then briefly releasing so it's neutral) and then doing a partial fireball motion. So i pretty much just do it the way the notation is written... no special tricks!

Even on the xbox d-pad they've been coming out consistently (surprisingly!). The controller actually gives me more trouble with charge moves, due to the tendency to jump accidentally.

first of all, it was 2-3. ken vs. sagat is a tough match because it's hard for him to get in and sagat can tiger shot all day. you have to predict low tiger shots and hurricane kick or DP.

it's like saying "lol your roll timing isn't that good" or "lol you suck at shoryuken motions," it's really an odd thing to call someone out on

Damn, I was just playing single play on KoF11. I was on battle 7, it's one of the bosses I think. Almost won, but she pulled out a super special leader move the second before mine. I slammed my controller in a fit of rage, and it froze the game! :(((((

I looooooove this game though. Not big on the team thing cause I am only even slightly good with Iori so far.

I think I'm having so much fun with it because I haven't looked up combos or strategies or any of that shit online, I'm just playing. It feels good to figure out a combo on your own.
