I sold an old record and I received payment from a PayPal confirmed address. Then I later received a message stating that it wasn't the right address and gave me another one to send it to. I Google mapped both and they are nearly 4 miles apart.
What would you do in this situation? The money was a considerable amount. If it were $10 or something I'd say fuck it and send it to the other address.
Would you just send it to the confirmed address considering that is where you received payment from and that is the address that matches their credit card billing statement? I don't see how it could possibly reach the wrong person if I sent it to them.

maybe someone moved?I know I did, I would still send it to the confirmed address with tracking and DC.If it's USPS, they should be able to forward it, but they should change their paypal!!!More communication to the user, worst case it could be a stolen identity....

I don't really use eBay for selling often, so I don't know how well their seller protection policy is...but if you send it to an address other than on the transaction details page, you won't be covered.

I wouldn't send to an unconfirmed address, especially if the item isn't cheap. When I sell on eBay I have a statement in my auction info that I will not ship to any other address than the Paypal confirmed address, no exceptions. It's easy enough for the buyer to confirm a new address with a credit card, so I'd return the payment and ask for them to resend it after confirmation.

This ^. Have him confirm the correct address then. I wouldnt send it either. He could file a dispute and it would be all over for you. Explain to him why you need that address to be confirmed. Any normal person will comply. If he dings you with a negative and asks for a refund you'll know he was hoping to pull something shady.
Or you could ignore him and send it to the address he has confirmed as already suggested. In this case you'd be covered though he may still give you negative feedback. Fun isnt it?

You would be stupid to send it to the unconfirmed address. You could easily get undisputed and your money will be gone.
Tell him that for security reasons that you must send it to the confirmed address. If that is a problem for the buyer, then he/she is eligible for a refund.

This is pretty much what I planned on doing. And yes, I am fully aware of the possibility of receiving negative feedback which is why I created this thread. So much fun, heh.

I had someone try the same thing with me, but it was a work address. I checked the addresses and they were about 20 miles apart. I simply said I would only send to the confirmed Paypal address. He had no issues and everything went fine. If it wasn't the Ace Combat 6 flight sticks and an almost $200 transaction, I might not have minded so much. He had a decent ebay record.

This is a nightmare. I checked the USPS tracking and it states:
Status: Undeliverable as Addressed
Your item was undeliverable as addressed at 5:01 PM on October 20, 2008 in PORTLAND, OR 97214. It is being returned if appropriate information is available.
Basically it is saying that the PayPal confirmed address is undeliverable. Now what? If it gets sent back to me, I lose $15 on shipping and resend it to the unconfirmed address costing me another $15? I don't know how to go about this...

Call customer service at ebay and figure out what to do. DO NOT SEND IT TO THE UNCONFIRMED ADDRESS, YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROTECTION IF IT IS A SCAM.

You can get your fees back I know. You can do a non-paying bidder report and then one of the reasons you can select is "buyer wanted shipment to a non-confirmed address".

The problem here is that she did have a confirmed address and that is the address I sent it to. But USPS states it is undeliverable. Now I'm out $15 on shipping if it gets sent back to me which presents me with the problem of her having a confirmed address but it is undeliverable.
