Gamestop has lowered the price of the console versions of Fallout to $19.99. I tried several local Gamestops for the XBox version but none of them had it in stock; however, the online store has it in stock. The PS2 version is backordered, though.

Is this game any good?

The engine it's based on is from Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, though in the Fallout universe.
I liked BG:DA enough to pick up another game like it, and it has decent enough reviews:

Well, glad to see I can jump on a deal and actually get it.
Wish the same was for Simpsons: Hit & Run for the XBox.

This appears to be a universal price drop - I've seen the same price at a local EB, Gamestop, and Rhino (regional chain).

I don't know about Rhino, but good luck getting an actual factory-sealed copy at EB or Gamestop B&M. I'm willing to bet you'd be stuck with a gutted copy.

This particular Fallout isn't on PCs. It's for consoles only. The older Fallouts were on PCs.
Anyhow - this game isn't that good. The 3 characters aren't different at all so there's not much replay value. I'd much rather have either Baldurs Gates than this. I got through this game in about 9 hours and didn't die once. Here's a tip - always buy laser ammo and use the lasers. They own everything and leave you without a scratch.

I'm a fan of the series, so I've been waiting for a price drop.

If you are a fan of the series avoid this game like the plague that it is. It is the nail in the coffin for the good Fallout games. If you don't watch out and buy it, the next thing you know your daughter will be knocked up and the house is on fire....nobody wants that.

It's also 20 bucks at Fry's if you have one near you. I picked one up about a week ago (xbox version) from the Fry's in Burbank CA, and it ain't too bad. Not the greatest game I've ever played, but if you like Baldur's Gate then you'll be content with this one too.
