Benoit and the WWE are coming to Wichita Falls this week to do a Raw here, and Benoit is coming to the base, so I get to interview him for the newspaper.

I'm going to be asking him some questions that will pertain to the military, but I also want to ask him some regular questions about his career.

So can you guys help me out with knowledge of his career a bit?

This is what I remember of him just off the top of my head.

- He wrestled in ECW for awhile and Japan before he made it big in WCW.

- He was a member of the Four Horsemen.

- Perhaps the coolest moment of his WCW career was when he was in a cage tag-team match with Jimmy Snuka. During the match, Benoit and Jimmy jumped off the top of the cage with flying headbutts. That was so crazy.

- He won the WCW heavyweight championship, and there were rumors that he threw the belt in the trash can after a meeting with Russo. A day or two later, he, Guerroro and Malenko headed to the WWE.

- He trained in Stu Hart's dungeon.

That's pretty much all I can remember from his career. I'm doing some research about him now, and I thought some of you guys might be able to come up with some good questions for him.

Also after I do the interview, I'm going to ask him to put me in the Crossface Crippler. Hopefully, there aren't many people around, and he'll do it.

It's the Crippler Crossface, and I doubt he'll do it for legal reasons, but hey, maybe you'll get lucky! He won the tag team title with Edge briefly while being the Heavyweight Champ, and I know he's good friends with Guerrero. Sorry that's all I know.

He was also the WWE champ until a few weeks ago.

Something else I noticed is that they now announce he's from Atlanta, Ga.
It would be interesting to know why he left Canada and whether or not this is just a temporary move or if he is now a permanent US resident.

So you know, when he jumped to WWE from WCW, it was himself, Guerrero, Malenko, and Perry Saturn. He competed under a mask as the Pegasus Kid in Japan. Guerrero also worked there under a mask as Black Tiger. You should ask him about the importance of wrestling in Canada as compared to America.

Only Smackdown! went to Afghanistan, though. I believe Benoit was on Smackdown! at the time, so he should have gone.

It was kinda funny how he ended up getting me in the Crossface.

At first we were just going to do the normal handshake photo, then he put me in a headlock out of nowhere. While in the headlock, I asked him if he'd put me in the Crossface.

As soon as I said that, a huge smile spread across his face. Before he applied the crossface, he told me to push up as far as I could with my right hand. I never thought of it before, but I guess that's what the wrestlers do so there's not so much pressure applied to your face when he's pulling on it.

Also, there were a bunch of event posters they brought with them. But they had a big picture of Orten on them and Benoit had a small picture on it. But I noticed there was one poster that had Benoit featured on it and in the middle, so I grabbed that one, and he signed it.

I was really impressed with him, though. He seemed like he was genuinely interested in talking to me.

The best part, besides the Crossface, was when I was asking him about doing the double flying headbutt with Snuka. About halfway through the sentence, he cut me off and finished it for me.

He said before they jumped, he looked across the ring and remembered when he was watching Superfly do the exact same thing when he was watching satellite tv in Canada. He said it was very surreal.

I didn't get to ask him as many questions as I could because the lady was rushing me. But I did manage to ask him which wrestler, past or present, would you most like to wrestle that you haven't yet.

And it was some Japanese wrestler. He said him because he had some really good matches against the Dynamite Kid, who was Benoit's favorite wrestler growing up.

I wish I could have talked to him for about 20 minutes. There was so much more I wanted to hear from him. I really wished he could have told me about Stu Hart's dungeon.

I also wanted to ask him about some of the pranks they pull on each other, if it was true that he threw the WCW title in the trash and what has been his most embarrassing moment of his career.

He did tell me though, that his two most memorable moments were when they got to visit the troops overseas and when he won the WWE title at Wrestlemania.

He was a bit taller than I expected him to be, but he looked ripped. They brought him in a white, stretched limo and had some kind of WWE PR guy with him.

I'll be writing an article next week for the newspaper about his visit, and I'll post it on here.
