The vision tester can be bought from Nook for 2280. The painting... it's a gamble... but if it's real it can be added to your museum. It'll most likely be a fake, but you won't know until after you buy it and show it to Blathers.

The black/white rooks can only be bought from Redd.

Redd will tell you if any of his items are only available at his shop. Otherwise, you can find it cheaper whenever Tom Nook sells it. Other than that, it's completely up to you ;)

I'm 5/5 for legit Redd paintings, and I've bought and donated basic and common paintings from Tom Nook.

i've got to say. i think you guys are all crazy. i love the paths that get formed. i've always placed my trees in such a way where i can run from place to place as fast as possible. and now on top of that i've got a cool little path. which is especially cool in the snow.

I dont think you get our problem! Most of us didn't know about this.. so.. we ran everywhere. EVERYWHERE. We don't have PATHS, we have AREAS of dirt. It's making building snowmen rather difficult because of the lack of grass/snow


I think the concept IS cool but they def made running kill the grass WAAAAY too fast. :(

While I'm typically pretty OCD when it comes down to how nice things look, if a decision has to be made between a nice town where I have to walk everywhere, or a grubby wasteland where I can run free, I'll pick the wasteland. Things go too slow with having to run around and pick up batches of fruit in multiple trips as it is.

I really need to look into cheating for a ATM (I refuse to call it anything else) in my house and a cheat to return all dirt back to grass. If I ran the cheating device like once a week I'd be set. :bouncy:

The only thing I risk losing are all of my neighbors right? I would put all of our flowers in both of our houses....and that's really it, right?

This is my third week of having the game and at first the paths thing was kind of cool, but just going around my town looking for snowballs destroys my grass. And I like building all of my snowmen in one spot, but the grass/snow around there has started to disappear too, so I have to start making them somewhere else now. You'd think that once the snowmen melt, there'd be more snow where they used to be.

It's a nice idea, but very poorly implemented by Nintendo. I hope they'll be able to patch our saves or something to fix this grass issue.

On an unrelated note, my town's bulletin board says there's going to be a meteor shower tonight. :)

5-6 hours. I did it over 2 days. My brothers helped, too, so it was not too hard. Keep in mind that a LOT of people will move. If you hate everyone in your town, it's great. It took longer for me because I had to check some villagers every day, to see if they were moving. I wouldn't recommend that!

I planted lots of trees before I left, so it would come back faster. Especially in areas that I wanted it to come back in. And you have to lay down a path BEFORE you time travel. So by the end of the 6 months, it'll be nice! You might think paths are ugly, but it's almost impossible to keep grass if you don't have some path to follow.

Like that. All over town. Leading to wherever you will need to go. There are no other problems. Flowers go away, but you could always store those. Your bulletin board does not get messed up, either. When you go back in time, it erases everything past the date that you go back to. I am in the current time right now. Weeds barely appear. You can run on the paths, but not the grass!

So you lay the pattern down BEFORE you do the TT thing, right? Grass won't grow underneath the pattern, so, when you are full of grass..all you do is pick the pattern up and now you have a dirt road?

You can all have the pattern! That pattern is just a placeholder, though. Unless you actually like it as a path. When you take off the pattern, after months of walking on it, it will all be dirt! If you want to use it as a permanent path, though, you can change the color according to the season, by changing the pallete. I hope I spelled that correctly.

*You do have to walk on it, actually. But, you'll end up doing that, anyway. Running on the path makes it appear MUCH faster. I really do mean MUCH faster.

One more thing, whats the best way of getting points with nook, so i can get some of those cool rewards.

I didn't mean it makes it makes paths faster if you run on a pattern. I can understand why you got mixed up, though. I was explaining it all jumbled! If you run on the path, it makes it appear faster than walking on the path. MUCH faster. The best way to get points from Nook is on 5x points days. Then ordering a throne!

Oh yeah; it's also RUMORED that the Lighthouse and Windmill have different functions, each quite different, so choose carefully.

The lighthouse is said to draw rarer fish to your town. That could be your ocean and/or your ocean and your river. I'm not really sure. But the idea is good for fishing fans.

The windmill is said to help grass regrow at a faster rate, I THINK. I mean, by the description of the rumor, it makes sense.

I'm just about done redoing the entire village. Tons of trees, flowers, etc, paths are created, grass is coming back dramatically (more on that in a sec), and more.

As for grass, a slightly easier way to do it is to go day-by-day, buy out all seven flowers (Nookingtons), and place them in areas that are looking worn out or if they are already worn out. Keep doing this for about a month or two and not only will everything come back, but you'll have your flowers/trees in place on top of practical path set-up.

From there, to make the path look more natural and...well advance. :D

First off, mind your own damn buisiness. Second of all, I asked him to do the helmet on a X5 point day as a favor (paid him 30k extra to boot), and that was originally it, just the mask. Then, he PMd me asking if I still wanted to buy the Varia Suit. I said how much, he said a number, I paid. that was it. I feel bad about not giving him the full suit back when I was closing up (not to mention a little money and the axe), but that was it. Again, no more trolling, and keep your thoughts to yourself.

I finally got off my ass and got rid of all my dirt. And got myself an ABD (my town hall is too far away to be convenient) and a silver axe. JimmeMac talked with CheapyD and Wombat (and another caller) for a solid 20 minutes about how his 360 was modded to pirate games, and they did nothing to him. lilboo, if you're going to go to all that effort, you might as well do it in a few minutes as Doomed suggested above. I'm just using the "method" to remove the paths and that's it. I just did it and my grass/snow is restored. So now I can run around happily without worrying about the consequences.

Well, I don't know about that, but we are under pretty clear instruction from Cheapy to delete any piracy discussion and hand out infractions/permabans if needed. Besides, bringing up JimmieMac is never a good thing to do when making pretty much any sort of point on CAG ;).

Now, the AC hacking stuff I don't have a problem with. I wish I could restore the grass in my town :cry:. But I'm really not going down the hacked Wii route that's for sure.

I do find it interesting that this "feature" (the worn paths that is) has become more reviled over the last few weeks. At first it was just me and 'boo that seemed to hate it and everyone else thought it was quaint or even a great new addition. It could be nice, but they need to tone it WAY down tor make it come back much faster on its own.

I totally forgot it was Saturday (being snowed in and working all day I guess threw me off). I need to turn the clock back a few hours and get my KK song!

If you don't mind being a dirty cheater etc., I can hook you up with 600k or a bunch of turnips (I think) or whatever. Seems like it'd be easier to cut the BS since you're gonna be cheating for the money anyway.

Today is X5 in nooks store for me. I was able to gather a bunch of fruit and buy enough ball returns (the most expensive item in my catalog) and upgrade to silver. But i could of sworn the ball return was 6,000+ bells when i started and now its just under that. Around 5,800 or so. Does the price of items go down if you keep ordering them?
Here's all you need to know about 5x day:
1. They're awesome
2. To fully capitalize on them, you need a white katana in your catalog. Next best is moon, which I have and can let you catalog. (white katana's original price in the cat is around 37k, moon 32x)
3. You can't go past 50k rank points (they stop mattering when you hit platinum discount at 20k rank points) and you can't go past 50k total points (any more and it's just a waste of money, they stop counting until you buy stuff from the pts)
4. You get discounts and a model of a Tom Nook store at every rank upgrade. Gold is 10%, silver is 5%, and platinum is (?)20%.
5. Stocking up on points is worth it up to 50k points, because you can sell them to others for lots of bells, and the items look cool.

the knocked down 6 or 7. but most of the time the first thing i saw was the shadow. it's pretty rare i look up at the sky. i still like it a lot. but i agree, that you definitely see a lot less in this version.

I once shot down 3 balloons in one sitting. but that sitting was a while. Usually you hear the wind blowing and see a shadow when they are near you. How do you manage to see 3 balloons and only shoot down 1. They are simple to shoot down.

You must have missed my dilemma over this this morning - I'm definitely glad I didn't head over to Broly's. My Joan had them for 98 anyway so I loaded up. I am NOT touching my clock now so they better stay good for the week!

I've found snowman making much easier in this game than in the other two. I've gotten all sorts of positive responses and gotten items every time. Only when he says "close but not quite" or something like that have I not gotten an item. Pretty much make the head almost as big as the body. I even measured it once before pushing them together - the head was .825 or so the diameter of the body. So that is even more than 3/4. When I failed in the beginning I was aiming for 1/2-3/4.

So, any high-priced TT turnip sellers today? ;)

It still hasn't given me the chance to upgrade it, so I guess I still have to spend a bunch of cash to get it, and then I have to keep it because Nook's an ass. Then again, the store hours...such an ass.

Walking does NOT kill the grass anywhere NEAR as quickly as running will do. I've been to my friends town who didn't run at all..and they have very little ware..and that's where she walks a lot, which IMO, is ok.

It's actually 2 weeks~ to upgrade and some other amount of bells, I think that includes buying and selling? But I'm not sure.

But yes, Nookington's hours blow. It makes it hard to play outside of his 9-9 hours. I can't wait until I can "upgrade" back to Nook 'n' Go.

That's probably a mole cricket. You have to dig up the ground until it pops out and runs around. Make sure you have a net handy.

Even better would be choosing your hours. You're be far his best (and only?) customer, so once you reach platinum (thus proving it) he should ask you what hours you want, because you're his best customer. Maybe you're at work from 7-6. So don't have hours there and have his hours extend into the night. Or maybe on weekends you sleep until 12. So make his hours 12-12 on weekends. (etc)
