I added abunch of FCs tonight (listed below), but kilraven - the FC you provided is giving an error. It says it isn't a valid friend code. Double check your code.
Sorry, my mistake. It's 3953-1486-4920. I put a two instead of the three.

Okay, today I added applecrisp, darkpumpkin, levi333, gocolts18, kilraven, miktau, unassuming, and interstella5555. Anyone else who plays regularly speak up! I don't have anything good, but I'll open my gates anyway in a few minutes and pray the phone doesn't ring (the phone interrupts the modem line).

If you aren't listed and wish to be, just let me know and I'll add you, or just post your info and I'll add you. I intend to keep the list up to date. I can't guarantee instant updates, but will update as soon as I can. If I ever happen to miss anyone's new FC post, please just gently point me to it and I'll add it.

I've seen him in the city & I like him. I think if anyone wants him to move to their town, they also need an open space in order to convince him to move there. So if their town is full & can't have any new neighbors like my town, they'd have to get someone to move out first.

Good time for fishing for the big one.Speaking of catching the big one...
I went to a friend's town tonight and we fished for a couple hours trying to catch a coelacanth. We saw what we thought was it on three occasions (neither of us had seen a fish 'shadow' that particular size/shape)...but each time, we couldn't reel it in before it swam off.
Any tips?

I've been fishing every day for two weeks and getting nothing but junk fish. My brother just started playing a few days ago, and gets a stringfish on his first try fishing, and the other neighbors are giving him rare stuff like UFOs and won't stop talking about him.

Wish I could give you tips, but I haven't even seen one's shadow yet.
If it's like the other AC's the shadow should be like 3" long or something.
Biggest thing I've seen was the Sea Bass. #-o Not you again.

Practice reeling in the smaller fish using sound only. After you cast your reel and see the fish is about to bite, train yourself to react only to the sound of the fish biting. I did this by closing my eyes, and after a few tries, my AC fish catching reflexes were quite good! I've caught plenty of coelecanth, stringfish, and tuna since then.

Nook is buying turnips for 187 this afternoon. If you want to jump on it, PM me, because every time I open my gates no one shows up, then my connection dies, I forget, and lose all my progress. You used to be able to save when the gates were open. -_-*
PS: If you do decide to come over, could you bring an axe if you have one? I don't get why there are never axes in my store, just fishing poles and water cans.

I agree with trying to catch fish by sound. I don't think the coelacanth look that big. I always get them confused with the seabass. You just have to keep trying and you will get it one day. I probably missed 5 or 6 before I finally got one.

One CAG suggested a long time ago to listen to the vibration of your Wii remote. There is a different vibration noise made when the fish bites, that actually happens a little before the noise on the TV is heard. Does that make any sense? Try holding the Wii remote to your ear to hear the differences between the vibration noises.

I hate how you can only save your progress and keep playing only when people are in town.

I've read you should use the 'nunchuk' method to catch fix. Would that be referring to using the wiimote/nunchuk controls instead of wiimote only...or hitting a button on the nunchuk to set the hook instead of wildly wagging the wiimote?
My friend joked that we have now finally gone on our first fishing trip together...and we already have a 'one that got away' story.

If you can spare one or two. I've got fruit that needs planting (not that fruit rots).

Pressing C on the nunchuk is a faster and sure way of casting and reeling in instead of jerking the remote around and getting accidental reel-ins (of which I've had plenty).

A coelacanth shadow is the same size as the tuna's. (but the tuna is the one that bites really fast, putting your reflexes to the test) Scare away anything that isn't sea bass size or larger so you don't waste your time catching horse mackerels and other annoying fish.
I haven't checked this myself, but I heard recently that a fish can only nibble on the lure a maximum of 5 times. Meaning if it hasn't bitten by the 4th nibble it will bite on the 5th.
Having a friend over on wifi can help because they can call out to you whenever they see a big shadow.
Other than that, just make sure it's raining and after 4pm and you should catch a coelacanth eventually. They are extremely rare so don't get discouraged and give up just because you didn't catch one on your first day trying.

I have my gate open for anyone that would like to visit. I can't offer a good turnip price, just company. Also, I need a lamp. Anyone's Nooks have a lamp for sale? Or at least I presume that is what is meant when Lucy says she wants something "lampy"

That's true, 4 nibbles and a bite.
Am I the only one who looks away when they're fishing, just going by the wiimote vibration and sound? If I watch the bobber go down when they nibble, I often jump the gun and hit "A" too soon.

I updated the unofficial active players FC list (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5426837&postcount=3735) with your info, unique12u/Daddy, even though now we will be in for confusion. Which Daddy is it? Ah well. When I started playing I hadn't even been thinking of the online part of the game, so of course when my kids wanted me to be Daddy, I was going to be Daddy. :) Is it possible to change your name in the game? I don't think there is, but I never actually checked to see if I could.
I also added Wa-Keen/Joaquin to the list, who is most definitely still active, as proven by his visit to my town last night and my subsequent visit to his town. Thanks Wa-Keen! Next time hopefully I'll have more time to visit your town.
unique12u - I'll add your FC tonight, so please add mine (see the linked to list above for my info: crunchewy/Daddy).
Last night after folks left/I returned there was a big fish out in the ocean which bit after one nibble but I either reeled in too quick or too slow. Either way it got way. I presume that was something good. Darn. Oh well. Do you catch coelacanth in the ocean or in the streams? Also there was a balloon that floated by, but I left my slingshot in my house. Darn again. However, while I did have visitors (converse, Daisydogt and Wa-Keen), I did find a magic lantern, then later found the ghost and got my wish, which turned out to be a nice red, electric guitar. Woohoo!
The unofficial active list is now up to 30, so I'll PM folks I've not got hearts for when I get a chance and see if they are really still playing. If I don't hear anything soon I'll take them off the list. I think in order to add unique12u I'm probably going to have to take one off of my in-game list anyway.

To add to your answer, also only during evening to early morning hours (4pm-9am).
I know that it was previously mentioned in this thread, but for all the AC:CF newbies, a fantastic resource is http://accf.wikispaces.com/. I also have the Prima guide, however, this site has info on it that the guide doesn't cover, so it's a great stand-alone guide or supplement.

A hollow heart means you've both added each other to your friend code lists, but neither of you have visited the other's town. As soon as you see each other it will be a solid heart. I'm not sure if it will turn to a solid heart if you run into each other in somebody elses town or not.
There may be other complicating factors with regard to when you get a hollow heart. I mean, I wonder how quickly, after two people add each other to their lists, that they get hollow hearts. It's a bit mysterious if you ask me.
EDIT: Folks - another update to the Active FC list. This time I removed Ski Hawk/Nick. I PM'd and heard back from him/her. Ski Hawk says he/she does not play any more, so remove them from your FC list if you've added them. See my sig for the link. EDIT2: Oops: you need to know his game name, which was Nick, town Minot

I've caught everything in January for fish but the top 3 rare fish, which is frustrating. I need a quicker trigger finger, because I know I had one of them on my pole and lost it.

What does it mean when they say you need more greenery?
More trees and/or flowers.
In my case, I have trees all over the place, but I planted a few flowers in a couple of acres and my rating went from:
"Hmm... it's not a passing grade, but it's not a failing grade either.
I'd give it a D plus. Maybe a C minus on a good day."
to:
"Fantastic! Newgrove is in great shape right now! Yep, it's pretty sweeeeet!"
It also helped to map out my town on paper to see which acres needed work. I found it easier than trying to lay down a bunch of patterns. Pic:

I figured it was something like that. No problem. Hopefully just a temporary wifi/network problem. I actually saw you briefly there for a moment and then, poof, you disappeared. I'm wiped out anyway.
After giving up I did a few chores and came across Blanca, whom I think it was Kilraven who commented on while here with some funny comment and now I see why. That's pretty dang funny and this is a pretty cool feature I didn't know about. It seems that Blanca is a character that travels from town to town and you get to draw her face. My cousin had drawn her face while she was in his town and, well, it was pretty rough looking. Whoever gets her next, I feel sorry for you, because I didn't do much better. :) I'd love to hear where she ends up next. Is this new to City Folk, or was Blanca in Wild World?

She came over yesterday from someone else's town, but I forgot who. She had a happy face drawn on in bright read broad strokes. My brother said it looks like it was mashed in with lipstick.
Sharing this game with other people is a pain in the arse. It's difficult enough trying to keep some neighbors when others are treating them like crap and vice-versa (I HATE YOU AVERY GTFO), but the fact that Nook doesn't take into consideration that there's only a handful of items and 14 people living in the town and even necessities like the shovel and fishing pole aren't there for whoever moves in is just dumb. For almost 3 weeks now, he's had nothing BUT the fishing pole and the shovel. But today because my sister wants to play, let's change it to the useless crappy ass watch and a water can. *facepalm*

When I go to the Message Board option at the Town Hall it makes mention that you can send photos to people, but when I try to send a message that way (currently I only have one friend's Wii Code, so I've only tried to them, and they don't have Animal Crossing), it never asks for a photo and all I can do is type in a message. So... I'm wondering if the recipient has to have Wii Speak, because the Wii Speak Channel has a feature that lets you send and receive pictures/photos - is AC:CF using the Wii Speak Channel to do the sending and receiving in this case? Or am I just not doing this right?

I've tried going after the bees with only the net in my inventory...but I always whiff it and get stung. Nothing but net. I've been running away, pulling out the net, turning to face them, and then trying to net them. Should I be netting the hive on the ground?

I know you can send the photo's through Wii Speak or you can just go to the Wii Message board and send a photo from there (or maybe it is the photochannel).
That said I know that AC is not using the Wii Speak channel since people who do not have a Wii Speak do not have that channel.

As for the Mole Cricket, you know how when you wander around town, you hear the chirp of a bug? It's loud in certain places. Dig around the area where the sound is coming from. You may have to dig many holes to find it.
As for the ant, I'm trying to remember... Do you put turnips on the ground and let them rot?
It took me at least four or five days to figure out the bee thing. You do indeed shake the tree and when the hive falls, run north. Turn around and equip the net. Then, just when you think it's too late, swing. It's really a timing thing. You'll figure it out eventually. When I finally got it a couple days ago, I went around town and caught three more bees with no problem.

Yeah, you have to allow some of your turnips to spoil outside your house. You will see the ants swarming around them in no time. If you want to nab flies, simply throw old tires, cans and boots you catch next to the water. Flies will start appearing.
Bees are tricky. It truly is a matter of getting the timing down!

Tomorrow there should be a notice posted or when you talk to Pelly she will ask you to vote on the location. Just don't do what I did and keep giving money. I donated enough for a bridge and a fountain and I found out the hard way that the 400,000 bells just disappear.

So it's 200,000 bells for the bridge and 400,000 for the fountain, and in that order - is that correct?
Do you have to donate it all at once, or can it be done in bits and pieces? I donated a little earlier on when I didn't know what it was. I'm wondering if that counted toward the bridge. Also wondering if different people can donate toward the same thing. So, for example, if I donated 100,000 bells and my kids donated 50,000 each, would that get us the bridge?
I think the key to keeping NPCs you like from moving out is to talk to them every day. If they are thinking about moving they will say so and then you can tell them not to. Of course, I'm not sure.

It's 200,000 first for the Bridge, then you don't donate til they allow you to
then 500,000 for the fountain, then ".................................................. ..."
then 1 million for the lighthouse/windmill
And the donations can be done in pieces, one kid does 50,000, another does 50,000 some other time = 100,000, then the man of the town throws down 400,000 adding up to 500,000 for the fountain.
Like someone said don't give more than you have to, first time I got my bridge I gave up 300,000 or something and the extra 100,000 doesn't go towards the fountain.

Yeah, I've heard you make sure to talk to them and write them letters sometimes. I pretty much talk to all the neighbors everyday (never know when someone has a gift for you or wants your bug/fish at a higher price than Crook's). So is it: 2x robo table, 2x robo lamp, 1x robo dresser? Right? I think what I need is: robo chair, robowall, robo stereo, robo floor and anything else I'm missing and may not know about. What else is there?
And speaking of turnips, I'm still looking for a place to sell and I should be online tonight. I'll check my price for all, of course, but so far this week has again been abysmal in my town. Last night it was something like 57 bells.

Turnips were at 154 last night and are now at 351 this morning. I made a killing, cashing in the remaining 15 sets for something like 500K in bells. Paid off my last mortgage, fountain on the way. I sent 100K to my wife and told her to buy something pretty  She's been eying the princess bed in GracieGrace this week for 80K, and she's only on her 2nd remodel.
I'm curious what the turnips will turn to in 3 minutes when they change for the midday. I have noticed a recent trend in my town of a brief spike on Wednesday afternoons.
I'm converting a lot of my native trees into foreign fruit trees, and I did something a little weird too. I've cut down all of my bare trees that don't produce fruit except for one acre that has 17 of them. Now I am only getting one 100 bell coin per day and no furniture from bare trees. Anyone know the formula used for that?

Oh, and it dropped to 190 bells for turnips now.

This might get a little technical for this forum, but I wanted to share the information.
Based on the calculations from Liquefy which indicate that 0 trees and 27 flowers, 1 tree and 25 flowers, etc. is a perfect acre I believe I have figured out the formula that AC is using.
Essentially the perfect score for an acre is 27 points, and you give 2 points per tree and 1 point per flower to determine the score of your acre. A decent score is 21-25, so-so score is 15-19, bad score is 9-13 and the worst score is 3-7.
Now where it gets complicated is if you figure 1 flower or an even number of flowers. In theory 13 trees and 1 flower would be 27 points, but apparently 1 flower by itself doesn't offer any benefit. If you do 13 trees and 2 flowers that would figure out to be 28 points, which exceeds the threshold for perfect and thus falls into the decent category. What I believe is happening with the flower is that once the tree points exceed 27, then the flowers take on an effect to bring down the score, i.e. 15 trees and 3 flowers is a 27 because 30-3=27. If you had 15 trees with 5 flowers, that would be 30 points for trees and 5 points for flowers thus bringing your score below 27, so the last two flower points are +1 and -1. I.E. 15 trees = 30 points, 5 flowers where 3 reduce to 27 points, +1 makes it 28, -1 makes it 27 again. If you had 15 trees with 6 flowers that would be 30 trees points, -3 points for flowers, +1 to make 28, -1 to make 27, +1 to make 28.
The math people with understand. I've got a chart all figured out for the combo's and what score they earn, so it's kind of cool if you are that anal about stuff like me.

I have a perfect town! I'm so excited! I thinned out the trees and planted flowers every day. I was surprised as heck when I saw the jacob's ladder and realized my town was perfect. I wasn't sure if it would be possible for me to have a perfect town because I mostly have bare ground which is why I planted so many flowers.

Matt, new developments! I saw how you planted palm trees on my beach and I suddenly realized that the beach is the only place that isn't completely engulfed in trees. I don't have any more coconuts so I planted flowers along the beach.
Right after I did that my town rating went from, "not enough trees" to, "too many trees" even though I haven't planted any trees at all today. I narrowed down a specific section of beach that when I pull up two flowers it changes the rating back to "plant more trees". But I don't think that specific acre is the problem since nothing I do to that acre seems to give me a positive message. It's only too many, or not enough.
This is what I'm thinking, please tell me if I'm wrong:
The beach acres don't have enough trees/flowers and that's why I was getting the plant more trees message, even though I have way too many trees in other acres.
Now that the beach has enough flowers and trees to bring their status up to OK, I'm now getting the too many trees message that I should have been getting all along. I now need to get rid of all of the extra trees in all of the other acres until I get rid of the too many trees message.
Do you think that will work? I have six brand new axes on hand, but that might not be enough for my jungle of a town

I think that's right. I had a ton of trees all over the place except 1-3 acres, but eventually I just stopped planting any new trees and just started putting flowers in the acres that had very few trees. I used to get the "too many trees" message, then I'd chop down one at a time and check my status. Once I got the "not enough greenery" message again, that's when I gave up on trees and just focused on flowers.
It's kind of a pain to keep them alive every day, so I always hope there's snow or rain. If there isn't any snow/rain to water my flowers for me, I just go to another town that has the charm that keeps flowers from wilting.
My town has been perfect for six days now. A little more than a week to go and I can get my golden cans!

Janet, I think you are right. Now that spot on the beach is at least decent and it's telling you how some of the other acres need to be mowed down to get to the perfect level.
As a joke I was going to send you a tree in the mail today, but never got around to it. By chance have you seen the recommended answers to Katrina to get the silver or gold axe? I saw them on AnimalXing.com I believe. I can't wait until I get my fountain next week, hopefully I'll get more than 1 axe a week at Nookway to try it out.

Thanks for your input guys :D So this is funny, I got my axe and chopped down trees in the bottom right corner of town, a couple in the middle of town, and a few around the Town Hall. I though I had a ton more trees to chop down but I decided to check the status real quick... it's in perfect town status!!(after weeks of frustration that was all it needed!) I guess now everything has to remain the same until I get the golden watering can. Fine with me, I'm done messing with trees.
Blue had said something about what you're supposed to say for the axe. I got really close a few times but now I seem to be on her hate list. Where would those recommendations be? I don't see them on the main site.

OK, closing my gate for the night...plus my mobile phone battery is about dead, so no more posting from the den.
So I feel really really bad about ignoring this game for the last month or so... But, two factors have conspired against me. First of all, I gave the kids a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet for Christmas and that is all they have been interested in since then - they have COMPLETELY stopped playing AC themselves. It is really quite remarkable - they went from every day to nothing just like that.
But also, my Wii seems to be having memory corruption issues. We couldn't play World of Goo any more - it kept freezing upon startup. So I thought, OK, I'll delete it and redownload it. Well, the deletion was taking nearly an hour and I finally gave up on it and turned it off. When I turned it back on it was gone and the Wii started up fine. But now whenever I go to the memory utility it freezes there and does not show me any of my channels or game saves. I also could not redownload World of Goo because it tells me I don't have enough room and need to free space (which, as I just said, I can't do as it freezes on that screen).
I can still play games - in fact, I tested Animal Crossing just to be sure. But I think I'll probably have to send the sucker in to Nintendo. Given that there's a better than even chance I'll end up losing all my save data, I thought I might ask if anyone here will hold some items, and more importantly, bells, for me if and when I do so. Then, if it does get wiped and I have to make a new town at least some of that hard work will remain in the form of cash I can use to get everyone's houses upgraded again (assuming my kids want to play once more).
Anyway, no need to work it out now - I still have to call Nintendo about it.
Someone on the Nintendo forums had the same problem and they got a wiped machine back, so I'm not hopeful. In fact, they better not fucking charge me for the repair if all they do is reformat the memory - after all I can do that myself! However, his problem was a little different in that he continued to use it for a while after the problem occured and it eventually told him the memory was corrupt upon startup. Mine isn't like that yet and I haven't wanted to push it thus another reason I haven't been playing recently.
Anyway, yet another WIN for Nintendo's half-assed storage solution . I have some of my game saves backed up to SD card (though not recently and I never tried the AC game save) but of course Nintendo in their infinite wisdom does not allow many of them to be copied. Bastards...

Just got done visiting a friend's town (both kids and I in turn) and decided to see who was listed after the kids went to bed. Noticed Daisydog had her gate open, but it filled up before I could crash the party. And I mean crash in the nicest, friendliest way. :)
I'll check later to see if you still have it your gate open and there's a slot open. If not, no big deal. I should probably be going to bed anyway.

Paid 96 each. Lets just say I will be highly motivated to sell these things this week. Too bad I'm only able to sell in the evenings (I refuse to wake up any earlier than I have to).
Last week's turnip run was a bust, though. It was my first foray and I was just messing around, testing the waters...bought 100 for 10000 bells. Prices were terrible all week long...and even worse Sat night. And then the kids took over when K.K. came by...and I forgot all about it and didn't sell them to break even like I planned.
In other news, my museum is now the proud exhibitor of a 10000 bell ant.
So, I thought about forgetting about turnips altogether...and then this morning I go straight to the other extreme. Highly motivated.
I'll reg some more CAGs today. Hopefully, one of you will have a good price this week. :)

I didn't get to play last evening because my fiance was nice enough to let me have some alone time. So I met my mom and we did some shopping and grabbed a bite to eat. So when I got home, it was my time to take over baby duty. I was on long enough to snag a K.K. song and pick some fruit. I'll be on later tonight though!
WOOO! Nook had a silver net today. I was starting to think he would never get it in. I also bought 990 turnips at 96 bells today, so hopefully I cash in this week.

Hey converse, Becky the chicken told me that if I go catch a sea butterfly in your town, my financial market will be better.
Does anyone know if when they say things like this, it will come true? I've had several other animals tell me good luck charms like this, but I never bothered. Of course I'm flat broke and this could only help everyone since we can sell at each others' stores.

I believe it's correct, because when I went to Katrina in my city for my fortune this week she stated the same Charm. Come to my town for the sea butterfly's.
I had a villager in my town telling me to go to Luxville and plant 2 trees for the charm there. I don't recall what the benefit was. It'd be nice if we could get some sort of grid of things.

What's the charm?
If you go to that town and complete that charm, you will receive some benefit. In my case, go to my town and catch a Sea Butterfly and you will experience riches, which I believe Janet said would be more rare items in Nooks. The benefit will apply to your town, but it must be achieved in my town. To determine what your town charm is, go to the fortune teller in the city and one of the options is for your charm.

I never got online last night and I must admit that the reason is that I was sitting on my couch and the thought of having to swap the keyboard from my computer *and* sit on the floor in order to use it (cable too short) just wasn't terribly appealing. Yes, I'm lazy. :) Anyone else have this problem? Of course I could have gone on without a keyboard, but the thought of communicating via the remote/onscreen keyboard wasn't appealing either. Oh well.
Well, I'm going to have this problem solved soon as I've asked my wife for the Logitech Wii Wireless keyboard for Valentines day. :) It's a bit expensive, but actually it's not THAT bad considering that it is so small. I've not actually seen anything comparable, but does anyone know of a similarly good quality and size wireless keyboard that costs less? I hate dealing with cables, so getting a cable extension isn't an appealing option, plus I'd still need a keyboard to get rid of the keyboard swapping. One key, again, is that it has to be small so I can easily stow it away in the small space available on our TV stand.
While playing not online, I did manage to catch two stringfish. Yeah! Those are worth just as much as coelacanth, right? Are they just as rare? I also caught a tuna. I couldn't check the values as Nook's was closed by then. I was also looking for a lost key for one of the residents, but while I found lots of trash including a tire (never saw one of those before), I never found the key. Oh well.
Earlier in the evening Nooks was having a 5x points sale so I gathered and sold non-native fruit like crazy and bought all the stuff in the store of interest and some stuff from my catalog I actually wanted, and finally bought King Tut masks (12,000 bells - the most expensive thing in my catalog) a bunch of times just to accrue points. End results is I'm going to have a lot of King Tut masks. Does anyone want to trade masks? The King Tut mask is the only one I have and I'd like to get some others. I'm now a silver member at Nooks and I also traded in some of my points for an item I won't mention. Better to show it off. :)
EDIT: Also, it's a week for me without a turnip purchase, but I'll keep an eye on the price at our town for others.

Oh - and I also caught a centipede, which I'm guessing probably isn't an exciting event for most, but it was for me since I'd never caught one and it was the first I'd seen. :) Actually it was the second I'd seen. The first one I saw when I didn't have a net, so I went back to get my net. Previously hitting rocks had only ever turned up pill bugs for me. I donated the centipede to the museum. So far the only bugs I've caught are the mole cricket, pill bug and now centipede. I've been trying to catch a bee, but so far (painfully) without luck.

Crunchewy:
I see you talking about a wireless keyboard up there. Yeah, the white Wii-specific Logitech one is nice, but it's inherently overpriced for just how little functionality you get out of it.
I much prefer this one (http://www.target.com/Logitech-Cordless-Desktop-510-Silver/dp/B000AY2L3U/sr=1-12/qid=1234194243/ref=sr_1_12/182-1097950-9440331?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Alogitech%20wireless%20keyboard&page=1), which I picked up at Target a few weeks ago. It'll go on sale here and there. When I bought it, it was $37, which I thought was a great price. It's nice and stylish looking, and really does work exceedingly well.

Thanks Strell, although that one fails in the size department. As I noted, I really want a small keyboard (but full-size keys). That's what I like about the Wii one. Also, I really have no need/desire for it to also work with a computer. I don't want to be swapping this thing between computer and Wii - I hate doing that now. I want to have a dedicated keyboard for the Wii. So I'm not sure what extra functionality such a keyboard could offer me. Perhaps it does offer something on the Wii? What?
Strell
02-09-2009, 11:52 AM
I meant more as you get more for the money. I.e., an extra mouse just in case, a numpad if you ever needed to use this with a computer, etc. Luck favors the prepared and I'm very much a "under any circumstances and in any situation" sort of dood.
That's how I'm thinking about it. If size is a big issue, then that's the rub.
In truth, it doesn't really afford more in terms of pure Wii usage. There's no extra keys or anything that you'll get with that one versus the one you are looking at.

To add to the wireless keyboard convo, I picked up the Logitech EX100 (http://www.target.com/Logitech-EX100-Cordless-Desktop-Black/dp/B001AAK0P4/sr=1-1/qid=1234196148/ref=sr_1_1/190-1800553-1573154?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k:ex100&page=1) when it was on sale at Target a couple of months back. No, it isn't as compact as the Wii-specific version (although it looks bigger in the picture than it actually is), but for $14.99, I couldn't resist. All in all, I've been very happy with my purchase.

I have the wireless keyboard/mouse combo that was on sale for ~$35 at Target a while back and like it. I just wish the caption space was larger, I type too much and too quickly or my own good! Obviously I need to stop being anti-social, swap the keyboard and sit on the damn floor. Looks like missed out. Tonight I move off the couch! :)
I spent some time last night running around planting fruit in the ground in an attempt to get the town status to change even a little bit. It has been, paraphrased, "not good, some areas need more trees, TREES!" so I planted trees everywhere that seemed to be short on them and yet the status didn't change. I haven't done any mapping out of acres - I figured if I just winged it I'd get some sort of status change, but nothing. Now, while I did plant of few actual trees from Nooks, mostly I've taken fruit and just stuck it in the ground. Does that not count? Also, do you have to wait for the trees to grow fully before the status changes?
Ash, I'll send you a King Tut mask tonight, or drop it off if I see you online. I'm not looking for equal value in exchange for those King Tut masks. Heck, I got my original one (no, three - two others for my two kids) for free from oemor. :) So just something that's cool. Ideally it would be a mask, but it could be a hat, glasses, shirt, whatever. Just something cool to wear that I don't have. I probably don't have it, so just send something. Even if I have it I can give it to my kids.
EDIT: found out that the charm in my town this month is to plant exactly 1 tree. So anyone willing to help me with this tree problem, please do so, and get a charm while you're at it. [smiley deleted: smiley overload sensor triggered]

I had the same thing happening to me, and it was because 10 of my acres were perfect 14 of my acres were decent and there was only 1 acre that was so-so and needed the tree. My suggestion would be to figure out which acre(s) is in the need of the adjustment rather than lowering the rating of other acres, but to each their own.
Tree saplings from the time they are planted count as a tree, because when I planted my last tree yesterday, I immediately went into the perfect status after being in so-so status. By the way, you must have a minimum of 10 trees or a maximum of 17 trees in each acre, not counting flowers, to have a decent acre. If you have flowers, then it can greatly alter the mix. I've gone with 10 trees in my decent acres to try and minimize the tree volume, and then I had a couple of other acres with 17 trees for my native cherry orchard, and my bare tree forest.
I didn't get any special flowers this morning though, which surprised me as I thought you got something the first morning after going perfect.

I finally got around to checking my town charm for the month of February - you have to plant a red turnip seed in my town. Seriously. Mind you, I don't expect ANYONE to do this, but if you're at all interested in some good luck, let me know.
Worst. Charm. Ever.

I feel like such an outcast lately. I have been so tired I am crashing out early and I never get to go and hang.
I've done that plenty too.
Kilraven - I got my robo bed and flooring. Thanks! No sign of the robo chair yet. The bed and floor came on different days for some reason. Actually I'm losing track of who is sending what, but I think the robo chair from you is all that's left. The robo bed came among some of my catalog stuff from Nooks, but I purchased so much during the 5x sale that I didn't get a fair bit of the Nooks stuff. I presume more will come today.
This past weekend I visited my nephews town and his entire town was blanked with snow. Only the tiniest of bare spots, if any. I asked if he ever runs and the answer was no. I wish I had that kind of patience, as it was pretty nice. However, we have enough snow to build snowmen. I want to thank whomever it was who semi-recently posted a link to tips about building good snowmen, because it's worked beautifully. I've built 3 good ones in a row and it's easy with those tips (in short, make one full size such that it can be no bigger, then one almost full size, and only try to move a snowball any distance when it is big. Works like a charm.)

Found myself having to go back by the house this morning, so I checked turnip prices. 47. Meh. I'm really hoping someone ends up w/ 300+ this week during the evening (or at anytime Saturday).
Got the stuff I ordered for people last night, will ship out tonight. Interstella, I ordered the Samurai Suit, should have it tomorrow. So here's what's going out tonight:
darkpumpkin:
Samurai Suit
Jukebox
Interstella:
Regal Bed
Regal Armoire
Washer/Dryer
I also recently visited a friend's town that was blanketed w/ snow...and they never run, either. So that's a new rule at our town...no running (if it can be helped). I'd appreciate it if visitors would refrain from running as well. :)
darkpumpkin...could I get a pic of you wearing my daughter's 'dead' design? I didn't think to take one last night and I think she would be really pleased to see someone modeling it. :)

Any of you aristocrats rolling in it might want to come look in my Able shop: they have the royal crown (the big red velvet one, not the Princess Peach one).
Right now it's snowing, but honestly haven't had great luck. Only made about $30,000 this morning, and nary a BIG fish in sight. EDIT: Of course as soon as I post this it stops snowing. Oh well.
Nookways opened today, and he's having a 50% off sale this evening. A writing desk, a pyramid, and two other things I don't care about are in there. Turnips are crap, though.
CL: I'm ordering your black queen now that he's open.

Crunch, you should get that chair anytime, I sent all three the same day. If you don't get it by tomorrow, I'll just send another one.
I still need to visit the Prof sometime to toss him his goodies as well.
