Yeah, I had so much fish in my house. Someone commented that it looked like a pet store on my first floor when they visited my town. I was getting close to 3x Nook's buying price too.
That's funny, I did the same thing with my house. Except I went with a more seafood restaurant look - used the gorgeous lamp and chair at the entrance, and threw in some pirate furniture behind the fish. On a side note, I actually got a drastic improvement in my HRA score with that set up, so much that my feng shui was complemented.
I only went with twice the selling price, so I'll give your thrice a try next flea market.

Just popped an Archaepteryx Fossil in the mail to you.
Much appreciated! Let me know if you are looking for anything. I'm not much of a collector, but I like the idea of a full museum for some reason. I am such a phylanthropist! (sp?)

Thanks. I've got to restock everything now, only have a tuna and snapper left. I wound up selling 4 tunas, 6 football fish, 3 red snappers, 2 koi, 8 lobsters (a must have), 2 goldfish, and a fern - I got a really good price out of it.

I had fun with the flea market. Selling and buying. I got around 2.2x Nook's price. I should have sold more of my furniture and a few less fish, though, as I'm long out of closet space. Also, thanks for the Festivale tips, Miranda!

Looks like my rock-paper-scissors tip doesn't work. I tried it earlier and lost. I probably won't play more until later today.

Yes, thank you for the tips Miranda :D
Managed to get 4 villagers trapped around the same area so I've been getting 4 tries at it.
But I'm only half reading the screen each time so I haven't noticed any patterns yet  (the first option in each game seems to win well enough)
I'm not on wifi yet, don't want to risk entering a building and losing my set up. Probably around 4pm I'll see if anybody is open, if not I'll open my gate.
Also, you can bet with ants in each game. To get them I just spread my candies across a couple of acres. After you catch one, running to the next candy usually triggers another ant to appear.

You won't lose your holes or your animals if you go inside. You also won't lose them if you open up your gate.
The only time the game resets holes automatically is when you save & quit.
Great idea with the ants! That won't work on wifi though since ants won't show up, but it's an easy way to fill your pockets for playing offline.
BTW, I have an item for Queenie's house for you, Janet. It's a merry-go-round I got from Redd. Spins around & around on its own, takes up 1 square.

Yeah, I had so much fish in my house. Someone commented that it looked like a pet store on my first floor when they visited my town. I was getting close to 3x Nook's buying price too. I think that's the last flea market where I'll be selling stuff. It's too much work to move all my furniture out of the way (especially since I'm out of storage) just to set up a bunch of fish.
I just did Festivale tonight in another town with someone on my friend's list who's in Malaysia. It takes so much longer to get furniture from Pavé than getting it from someone like Jingle. You have to play games with your villagers and if you lose, they take something from your pockets or 500 Bells. If you win, you get a piece of candy. You need 3 pieces of a specific colored candy to get 1 piece of furniture.
What we ended up doing was laying out all our candy in front of Pavé and just sharing it with each other. Then we'd have our separate piles of furniture/wallpaper/flooring and any dupes would either go in the dupe pile or in the pile of whoever needed the piece.
After about 4 hours, we only had 1 complete set between the three people who were in the town. The other two of us were both missing 1 piece and we had a whole bunch of dupes. Really a big pain in the butt to get a complete Pavé set. I hope I can get the last piece I need once Festivale starts in my town.
Dear lord, that sounds like the most unfun thing ever. Not to pass judgement on all of the completionists in this thread, but playing the game the way some of you guys do sounds more like a job than a game.
My wife and I paid off the final upgrade to our house last night and we were really dissapointed that there is nothing left to do regarding that. I can't imagine trying to barrel though all of the collection aspects of the game in one go - at that point there is nothing left to do.

It was actually 3 hours (or more like 2 1/2), not 4 (I think around 9:40-midnight). I'm bad with times/hours when it comes to this game. It was still fun doing Festivale on wifi than playing alone. If you're by yourself when you play, it does get kind of unfun as you put it. At least when you're online, you have people to chat with as you play the games.

I don't get it. My son is playing and he keeps talking to everyone and no one offers to play a game. He's got his pocket filled with cherries. What are we supposed to do? We did talk to Pave.

Is yellow candy a joke? 11 whole pieces thrown on the ground, he never even asked for it!
I'm missing the table but I'm taking a break for now. Overall, this event is pretty fun! The confetti is just awesome!

And this is kind of funny, I bought an adorable Bear Hat from Able's but didn't have a shirt to go with it. A few minutes later Peggy noticed me and asked if I liked recycling. I said yes and she gave me a bear shirt! They rarely give me things that are new to my catalog so that was a pleasant surprise. I guess maybe now I won't hate her so much

VIVA FESTIVALE just got my pave set pretty quick, only 4 dupes :) I did notice after pave gave me a item & if I didn't talk to a villager & gave him the candy he wanted right away I would get a dupe. I would stick to the same set of answers the whole time & it worked most of the time but rock, paper & scissors got harder later on.
Also just got my 3rd silver axe 8-)

It took me an hour and a half to get 3 items from Pave. I started losing and getting repeat items after that. I'm going to try again later. Maybe on wifi if anyone is going to be playing too. Festivale is fun. Pave looks like he's doing the invisible hoola hoop. lol I hate that soccer game. It's too long and I lose a lot.

Festivale was fun for a while, but it's just not worth it on your own. It takes a long time to get a bunch of candy gathered up, and then Pave spits the same thing out at you time after time. I've got about 5 pieces of the furniture and 5 duplicates now, and almost out of candy.
On a side note, it doesn't seem like anyone has been online lately. I'll try again a bit later tonight while the wife watches Secret Life of a Teenager.

My kids have been playing and gotten two items, and will trade in for a third, their last, soon. I'll be playing for myself later and would be happy to do so with others. I have not done any trap building. I think I'll just stick to playing the games until I have the currently needed set and trade those in, then play games to get the next set, etc. Hopefully that avoids duplicates, or at least minimizes them.

If anyone has a spare table, I have the following extras for trade:

sofa x2

bureau

I'm just looking to have one complete set we can share.
In related news, I made my daughter cry by corralling all the neighbors with the shovel. And then I made it worse when I wouldn't free them before she had to go to bed. I couldn't, Pavé wouldn't give up the table!

By the end of the night, I started to get pretty good about picking up the patterns. It seemed like certain characters behaved the same way consistently. For example, so characters you could always answer "Right" while other characters were 50/50 Right/Left. The Rock/Scissors/Paper was a good tip early on because it seemed like they would either pick what would have beat your last move, or what you would pick to beat that. The coin flip seemed to either be heads, tails, head or tails, heads, heads in my town. The hardest of them all was the psychic challenges, because it seemed like the answers were different for each one. There were points where I would get 5 candy in a row without losing anything, or 9/10.

:shame: Didn't you also make your son cry during the fishing tournament? Hopefully you made it up to her. You should give her one of those giant pink bears.
I felt bad about trapping the animals too, but they were close enough that they could still talk and make eachother sing. Probably because of the holiday, they always came away happy after a chat instead of making eachother upset like they do most days. Although Lucy did cry after I had to shove her back into her enclosure. That's what she gets for trying to escape.

You should give her one of those giant pink bears. They had plenty of room to move and spent the time in between playing games w/ me by talking to each other. Most of the time, they were all happily dancing and singing. Even so, I can see her point about trapping them. Not a very nice thing to do.
As far as making it up to her (and him)...I pay their mortgages and buy stuff for them all the time...but I'm thinking of backing off a little and making them earn at least something.
And my son was crying because I caught a bigger fish than his previous one. And then he immediately turned around and caught an even bigger fish. He needs to quit whining and crying when he doesn't get his way and when he's (temporarily) not in 1st place. Tough love. I'm all for him excelling at everything he can. I'm not for him thinking it's just going to be handed to him.

Alas, I missed out on all the Pave fun. 5 hats on top, perhaps, but no Pave furniture for me. I fell asleep, in part due to still being sick. I should have played during the day, but for some reason I decided I was going to let my kids have the first crack at it after they finished their homework. I didn't last after all that. Oh well. I suppose I could trade for the furniture, but on the other hand my kids had fun playing the games, and then if I had all the furniture it would spoil the fun for them next year, so I think I'll take my lumps on this one. Once upon a time it was my oldest son's game anyway.... :) My oldest has the table and the cabinet (or whatever it is called, closet?) and my youngest got the table too. They had a hoot with it, especially when their cousin came to visit and played too.

This isn't something you necessarily want to try if you are holding turnips, but one thing I have been doing lately is time traveling forward one day, and backward to the current time for a few cycles. I'm not actually progressing in time, but when it allows is for me to load up on axes for the fountain, and a different selection at Nook's each time, as well as a full restock. If you are working for perfect town, then watch out for wilting flowers and weeds, because they are out there even when you do this. Also, it's worth noting that I had a neighbor move out before I knew it because I had time traveled all of these days without talking to anyone. One major benefit is that you get tons of fossils too, so if things aren't moving fast enough for you but you don't want to actually travel to the future. On a side note to that, I haven't received any gyroids in quite some time, even before this time travel. Are they all dried up?

I ended up just selling enough to net me 100,000 bells which is about what I needed to pay off my current mortgage (along with my held bells). That only got me back a quarter of what I paid, but when I did the math I realized how disappointing it would be to sell enough to get back all of what I paid. :) Hopefully we see another good spike or two.

If your turnip prices go down two more times in a row, the wizard (link (http://www.kurtboyer.com/guides/AnimalCrossingCityFolk/StalkMarket/) for anyone who missed my previous post about it) will suggest that you sell since they probably might not go up. I'm still hanging onto my turnips even though my turnip prices have been falling. Thursday morning last week was when my prices started to go up, so we'll see what happens this week.

Silver rod! My Nookington's had one last week, but I already had one, so one of my visitors bought it.
Is that 88 price higher than what you had yesterday? Yours might be starting to spike, so maybe tomorrow's afternoon price or Saturday's morning price will be your highest, unless you have one of those roller coaster weeks.

The Wizard has already mentioned roller coaster as my pattern for the week. No recommended selling date.
My prices since Monday have been:
138/104
76/68
90/104
109/88
But according the that turnip thread you posted Miranda, it says, "During a roller coaster pattern the prices of turnips can range anywhere from 30 to 151 bells/turnip." So I don't have much to look forward to
Matt, no silver axe today. I went with no money and empty pockets (although I was wearing clothes and an accessory). She asked what I wanted and I picked the gold. Then she got angry and didn't give me anything.

I've got the bridge, fountain, and lighthouse in my town. I have completed my fossil collection, and already made it to perfect town status. I want to catch all of the fish and bugs yet, but in the meantime it seems like there is nothing much to do. I guess it'll be exciting with the new fish and bugs tomorrow. I think my charm this month has something to do with getting better relationships with your villagers, Katrina says:
"I have revealed for you a hidden charm that will make everyone like you...
Yesss... You must plant a golden tree somewhere in Newgrove...
This is Newgrove's March charm..."
I don't know if the golden tree actually has to grow (would be nice if it does though, with Bells and everything ;)). I've had charms where people had to plant a specific number of trees before, but they still got the effects even if the trees didn't grow.
My Pavé room is the model room of the HRA in my city this week. LOL.

Converse - your March charm is to catch a football fish, yet according to what it says in the fish you've caught thing, Football Fish are only found in the Winter. ???
From what I've seen, the Football Fish is still around until the end of March. I caught one on the first the other day too. They must count winter through the end of March, since technically March 20th is the Spring Soltice or whatever.

I can't even begin to thank my fellow CAGers and Animal Crossing friends. My daughter was discharged today but she requires antibiotics that have to be given through her pump. This translates into roughly 3 hours of sleep for me. Her medical supply company sent me an overabundance of supplies and I had to figure out where the hell to put everything into a small apartment. I was about at my breaking point. My fiancee suggested I take a moment and log into AC.
And what do I find? Wonderful letters from my friends letting me know they are thinking of me and wishing me well, complete with wonderful presents inside. Nobody has defriended me or abandoned me. With having to take care of a baby that has certain medical issues, it gets lonely for me at times. So how wonderful that I have you as my friends. It really means the world to me. Paul, what you did for me was so kind.
Thanks again everyone.

Got an extra Basic Painting today if anybody wants it. It's a spotlight item.

Turnip price is 171 today and the Wizard is telling me to sell. However the detected pattern still says Large Spike.
Surely that's not the spike. Prices have been:
82/79, 75/70, 65/113, and today has been 141/171
That turnip thread said that during a spike the price will rise three times and then the real spike will occur.
For a high spike it says, "A high spike occurs if the price rises three times after the rise. You will know it is a high spike if the second price after the rise is over 500"
So it can't be a Large spike week then? Maybe it's really a low spike since that one says, "The highest price during a low spike usually will not go over 200. If you have a low spike week, you should sell on the third price after the rise. It is more than likely the highest price of the week."
But thanks to Robert I was able to sell enough turnips yesterday to just about break even on what I originally spent. Everything says otherwise but I think I'll hold the rest of my turnips and wait to see what prices will be like tomorrow.

http://www.wiipals.net/Forum/f28/hey-guys-wanna-know-how-to-predict-your-turnip-prices-50508.html
It's all so confusing. When he says to sell on the 3rd/2nd price after the rise is that including the first rise? Or do you start counting from then on?
Low spike: sell on the third price after the rise
Medium spike: sell two prices after the initial rise
high spike: sell two prices after the initial rise.

The only numbers I've seen all week in Treecity floated between 40-60 every evening. I don't have any way to check in the mornings, though...so I imagine if I did get a spike, it would of course be in the morning.
If no one else has a decent price today, I'll probably just wait until tomorrow and them hopefully sell for at least what I paid...and then try again next week.

Well fishing in my town's always been crap. Had the game since January and never once saw either the stringfish or whatever the ocean rare was, meanwhile everytime it snowed in other people's towns, they're catching 2-3 tunas, already have the stringfish, and Nook loves them.

crunchewy

You have to be more specific. If it's exactly 140 this afternoon then the stalk market wizard is saying you are having a rollercoaster week and it's best guess is to sell now, but if it's not exactly 140 it could say something else. Plus there is the fact that you've got all of us. Somebody is bound to have a better price then that.

No spikes for me this time, my turnip prices are having another roller coaster week. According to that turnip thread on wiipals.net, any Monday morning price that was higher than Joan's selling price, especially if it's over 100, is a roller coaster pattern.
Joan was selling for 107 yesterday, Nook's price this morning was 112.

I don't quite remember. My morning price might be a bit off too. I'll just watch the forums.

I would love to help you all out this week... but with what I had last week, I wouldn't expect anything too high for me this week.
But, I didn't have a chance to buy any this week again. I usually get pretty good prices on weeks I don't buy, so I'll have to wait and see.

Lucy has lost her marbles and is asking for something purple. And apparently, a purple lava lamp is not considered purple! Knowing the villagers of Texas she probably wants me to go back in time and get her some harvest furniture. Just like the 3 other villagers who wanted me to time travel to get them specific shirts that are only available during the summer.
Despite a week full of unfulfilled promises, I still seem to be on their good side. Sahara was in town today and I got old carpets from all of my female villagers. A record 4! Combined with the old carpets I had in storage, I was able to get two special Sahara carpets; Sandlot and Lunar Surface. They're available for catalogging if anyone is interested (well if you really want one I might give it to you).

Looks like we're all on a rollercoaster turnip week. Maybe not as big a profit this time, but like jase1z said, with our combined efforts none of us should have to take a loss.

One of my animals asked me for something black. I ordered him a black bishop. He's probably going to hate it. They are so darn picky! :bomb:

Last time Sahara was in my town I got 5 old wallpapers from my residents. I win! On the other hand, I didn't think to save two of them, though. I don't have any room anyway.

Is there anything special you have to do to get them to give you old wallpapers? Last three times she visited, I asked everyone in town and got 0 all three times.

You have to talk to Sahara first, otherwise they won't talk about, nor give you any. Did you talk to Sahara? If your residents talked about old wallpapers and said they didn't have any, then I guess that's just bad luck. :(

Oh I talked to her. And then half of my neighbors accused me of calling their shit ugly or some nonsense, and the other half said OH WAIT I JUST THREW THEM AWAY ALREADY LOL.
I'm thinking I'm going to start kicking these retards out for a new batch of animals.

Maybe it depends on how much the residents like you? However, I think in the case of them saying they already threw it out, that is just luck. I really don't know for sure, though.
I have been trying to do jobs for my residents whenever possible and recently I started sending them stuff in the mail, which has the added bonus of them sending stuff back to me - I send them stuff I don't want and sometimes they send better stuff back. Sometimes not better, but they always seem to send something, and they always like that you sent something so it's a win either way as far as getting them to like you. Plus I write goofy letters in the hopes they'll read them to visitors some day. :)

I'm also having the Wallpaper/Carpet problem. The first time Sahara came to my town I was able to a good amount of carpets, but ever since then I never recived any from my neigbhors.
I also think it might be how much your neigbhors like you. Cause I rarely talk to them.

It was wallpapers for me today. First time I've been able to get 3 in one day. Still can't find a couple of my neighbors. Probably hiding somewhere in my mini forests. Too lazy to go looking for them.

If you think you have trouble finding people.
Whenever i play hide and seek, they tend to like to hide out in the huge fruit forrest by my brothers house. Now thats hard to see anyone :(
it takes me like five minutes to find one person in there cuz I eventually run into them.
