Whenever i play hide and seek, they tend to like to hide out in the huge fruit forrest by my brothers house. Now thats hard to see anyone :(
it takes me like five minutes to find one person in there cuz I eventually run into them.
Are you pressing up on the d-pad? It zooms into your character and any nearby trees and buildings (but not villagers) become invisible. Makes it easier to see behind things.

Jase1z - did you try the Wii lens cleaning kit? I'd recommend giving that a try before sending it in. That could be the issue. It's only $10 and available at Gamestop and perhaps elsewhere. It is a Nintendo product. Note that I found that GS employees don't neccessarily know about it, but they should have it. You can check availability on their web site.

She made me use the lever thing to tell her how badly I wanted one and she just gave it to me. I didn't think she would give it to me. She always lies and takes my axe. She asked if I wanted silver or gold and I said silver. Is there really a gold axe? How is it different from the silver?

I've been doing a lot of time traveling because I've caught all of the fish and bugs for the month and don't really have much else to do but try for hybrids. I'm still on modern date, I just TT forward and then back again. I've got most of the hybrids in multiples now, so that's pretty cool.

I thought this game would have more hours in it than it looks like it will end up with. I still enjoy the game, but I think I played too many hours for the first month and now I've got very little to do. Cashing in on the big turnip spike a month ago didn't help things either, because now I am not worried about money. It's times like this it'd be nice if there were more often events like the flea market and fishing tourney.

All you need to do is take a picture of your town map, then upload it to that site. I recommend taking the picture of your map while you're inside of a building so that it doesn't show a person icon on your map.

It's more accurate to map out your town manually (because when you take a picture of your town map, the buildings appear bigger than they really are), but the map generator makes it a lot easier.

I mapped my whole town out manually on paper and then found out about that site after I finished my map. Hopefully this will save you some time.

wish I read that sooner, I've already finished 7 acres of my town by laying down patterns that mark the 16 x 16 squares and so far it's worked out great. thanks anyway though. I don't think I have an SD card for some reason yet either so that wouldn't work. it's just annoying that Nookington's only sells 3 trees and 7 seeds a day since I need 15 trees & 5 flowers per acre (that's what i'm trying so far at least)

Actually I've had good luck selling stuff at the flea market. I sold King Tut masks for about 2.6x what Nook offered. The key is having friendly neighbors. Last time I just talked to them frequently and did jobs for them. This time I'm also going to send them letters. I've already mailed them stuff, and received stuff in return.

Incidentally, I did not receive the DLC. :( Nor did my son. Did anyone else miss out? Very sad here. How come some received it and others didn't?

I used that map generator, and maybe I don't get it, but I don't see how it is useful. Without laying down patterns it seems impossible to tell from the map it creates where one acre, or whatever you call it, ends and another starts when actually playing. It seems uselessly detailess. Again, though, I just may not get how you are suppose to use it.

It's not about making money trees. Burying 100 bells lets you grow more trees instead of waiting for Nook's 3 sapplings everyday.

Someone else on this thread told me you get a 1% chance per 1000 bells that the tree will produce 3 bags of 30000 bells each. Never looked into it after that.

As for the flea market, I had very friendly neighbors...just not buying ones. :) The whole week before the flea market I talked to each one daily, sent each one letters daily w/ presents attached...I totally ran a campaign. I didn't sell any Triforces that weekend.

To everyone who didn't get the shamrock hat, do you have WiiConnect24 turned on? If not, it has to be on in order for you to get DLC from Nintendo. Just talk to Rover about it before you start up your game or pick up the phone in your house to have him turn it on for you.

PrincessKittyx, that's true about Bell trees not producing money if you bury less Bells. Burying 100 Bells as oemor suggested is just a way to grow more trees without needing to buy the tree saplings from Nook. Even though they won't have money on them when they grow, they'll still grow to full sized trees if they survive. You can also just plant more fruit trees to get enough trees you need per acre.

And if you don't have an SD card, what you can do to still get the picture from your game is this:

1. Add your email address to your Wii address book.
2. You'll receive an email from Nintendo asking you to confirm that you want to receive messages from your Wii, so follow what it says to do to confirm (I think you just have to reply to the message).
3. After you finish adding your email address, you can start up AC:CF again.
4. Take a picture in the game using the 1 button on the Wii Remote.
5. Go to the town hall and use the right window and pick the option for Wii Message Board.
6. Say you want to send the message to a friend.
7. Pick your email address from the list of friends.
8. Write a message (optional).
9. Say yes when they ask if you want to attach a picture to the message.
10. The picture screen will come up showing the last picture that you took in the game. Choose that picture.
11. Send the message.

You should get an email with the picture as an attachment without needing an SD card. I use this method for pictures that have problems saving onto my SD card. The only thing is that you can only send one Wii Message Board message from the game per day per character.

The thing about the 1% chance is true and the only way to ensure your tree would produce bells is to bury 100k but the tree only produces 90k so its not quite worth it.

I haven't bought any turnips for two weeks, so it's not really a weekly thing for me. I still check the prices every day for other people, even though mine haven't been great.

I started out playing the game buying everything from Nook's & the Able sisters too, but lately they don't sell anything that I don't already have in my catalog, so I don't buy as much anymore. I don't need Nook points anymore after buying 3 thrones (in 3 different towns). There's not much in the points catalog that I want to order.

No golden axe yet either, but sometimes I forget to throw my axe into the fountain. Serena gave me a few silver axes that I just give away since I already have a silver axe. She doesn't seem to want to give me a gold one. It's kind of fun throwing an axe at her with a character that hasn't finished his Nook chores yet. :-P She stays in the fountain and just keeps the axe. That might annoy most people to lose an axe, but it's an interesting change from the stuff she usually says.

The barred knifejaw was the second fish I caught this month after a loach. I caught a few other ones later in my town and I only fish in my own town when a neighbor loses their key or wants a fish. I fish more in other people's towns than my own. But barred knifejaws haven't been as elusive for me... hopefully you'll snag one soon.

I read on one of the FAQs on GFAQs that if you send letters to other people in your town and attach some fruit that they will most likely send you a letter back with a different piece of fruit in it. Is this true? I have sent out quite a few letters to my townspeople and I haven't gotten anything back in return.

I did that the first couple weeks I had the game, they will send you back fruit. Seemed like you had to write a certain amount, maybe two lines worth, to get anything good back. Any more, I just attach 100 bells to each letter. Or shells. I sent shells out when I started and got back apples, pears, and peaches. I had nearly all the fruit the first week just by sending letters.

Once I made a couple million bells on the stalk market, that kind of slowed down the challenge for me as I was able to pay off my mortgage and get all of the upgrades for my town. At the same time I was already in perfect town status, so that was another accomplishment met. It'd be nice if there were multiple layers of the perfect town, like you get something for 15 days, 30 days and 45 days or something.

My only goals on the game right now are breeding hybrids, which I have been tainting with TT, although I've had great success in getting hybrids. My other long term goal is to get all of the fish and bugs to get the gold fishing rod and net. I haven't TT'd for that part yet, and have no plans to, but if the game doesn't get revived someway for me I may start to TT for that purpose.

I really enjoyed this game for a solid 2-3 months, and I still enjoy the game overall, but it feels like the challenge is missing now.

There seems to be a hell of a lot more wrong with this game than I remember with Wild World. A lot of what happens in that game is luck, and I've always had terrible luck. No luck = no money = no buying things or paying off the exorbitant mortgages. I could and would spend hours at a time fishing and catching things and only getting garbage, while everyone else signs on for 20 minutes and YAY I FOUND A STRINGFISH/COELACANTH/TUNA/BLAH!

My siblings play the game too. My brothers have taken to cutting down all the trees and messing up the town status, along with running everywhere and making the ground bare. I don't feel like cleaning up after them anymore.

I got tired of feeling tied to the game, and logging on twice a day only to see that Nook and whatever the fox's name is screwed me over once again both in store inventory and turnip prices. Which leads to the last point, the animals are all gossipy, needy, backbiting dumbasses. I at least found myself liking *some* of my neighbors in WW and signing on to talk to them, now they can all jump off a cliff for all I care. Who's idea was it to make all the girls in this game shallow, snarky little brats?!

The only way that I know of to patch the grass is to use the AC Toolkit, which requires you to add the Homebrew channel first.

I just got this game some 8 hours ago. I've only put in an hour and a half so far, but it looks like more of the same, which is a good thing. I was a fiend for the original ACand loved the few months I spent on Wild World.

Only 2 things disappointed me-

1) I found out when I ordered that Wii Speak wasn't included, but I guess I should have done my homework.

2) The game won't let me use my town name from the previous 2 games. And it's not just due to online functionality, because Wild World allowed it. My town name was Cockasia.

Anyone in the market for a throne? I got one today at Nooks for 640 large just so I could have it in my catalog.

On a side note, I could really use a Green Wardrobe, Tulip Table and Lily-pad Table. I've been working on the feng shui, and I've got a great score for the yellow bonus. It's kind of cool, I had never played with it before, and I've been getting spotlight items at Nooks nearly every other day as a result of my red/green scores and I got 70,000+ in my HRA score. Now the money rocks are sparking out 8 different amounts of bells at a minimum profit of 16,000 bells a day. I even lucked out and got some double hits with the silver shovel and got 35,000 in bells off one rock one day.

I've also been loading up my gyroids with Brewster. I love the pigeon brew, although the pigeon milk kind of creeps me out a bit. I swear sometimes it seems like Brewster takes duplicates, but maybe there are multiple gyroids with the same name but they are different somehow. Right now I am just collecting for the collecting sake of it.

I started a new town on the Cube version yesterday because I didn't want to see how bad my town from 2002 turned out. Even with it's limitations, I'm really enjoying the original a lot more than City Folk. Reminds me why I fell in love with AC in the first place. I wish they had taken a lot more from the Cube version and put it into the Wii version. Like those little piles of leaves that you could run through, the dock at the pond area so that you could actually fish in the big pond easier, the ball that you could kick around, the animals falling asleep outside, being able to go inside an animal's house while they're outside, the island, Porter. While I like most of the features they added to WW and CF, I miss the little things that they took out. And I completely forgot that the animals would sometimes paint your roof if you just talk to them - can't say that I miss that, but it does bring some randomness to your roof color.

Today was one of my CF characters' birthday, so I finally got a birthday cake and birthday greetings from the neighbors. My other character who had a birthday on 1/1 didn't get anything because he wasn't good enough friends with the neighbors by then. They just totally ignored him. I hope my main character gets her cake later this year.

bees are pretty easy.

You need to run up or down so the bees are offscreen.
I prefer to run up, so when you equip your net, you'll automatically be facing down toward the bees.
Right when the bees show up onscreen, swipe your net.

I catch every bee this way.

This is the exact method I use to catch bees, including the running up part. I only run down if there's nowhere to run up. Works every time.

I visited crunchewy's town earlier. If that was any indication of how things will be with other CAGs, then I'm happy. He's a very friendly gentleman who gave me all the fruit I could carry, plus axes which aren't available in my town yet (3 days in and counting).

General question to everyone: how often does it rain in your town?

My town gets very little rain at all and one of my friends towns gets rain almost every single day (she had snow a lot last month too). I remember in WW, it would at least rain randomly for 1 hour during the day, but in CF that doesn't seem to happen.

Are there just some towns that are going through droughts in this game or what?

I think it's only rained about 3 times all throughout March for me (and only 1 of those times was where it rained all day). I get tired of having to water flowers every day, which is why I love it when someone has a flower charm in their town that I can do to keep my flowers from wilting.

Just wondering how often everyone else gets rain.
