Also, how the hell does the Redd invite work? Someone yesterday in Strell's town (Jeff) gave me a Redd invite but he still doesn't let me in. I can make a letter out of it, but if I try to send it to myself I can't select it for mailing at the post office. Did Jeff have to mail it to me for it to work? I guess I can see if I can mail it to one of the kids and let them get in... In any case, then, I still need one.

That's a shame :cry: Your town is so pristine. When I visited, I was afraid to run and tear up the ground. Hopefully they didn't take too many flowers and you can rebuild, but most of us here do not act like that.

Did anyone get the Wii Speak Channel today? I just got it and I think my Wii Speak might have some trouble. I had to turn the sound up to 18 (started at 6, then to 8, then to 10) to get it to work. Even then I didn't get the best score.

Um...You know the 360 dashboard? It kinda works like that...only worse. It doesn't tell you what games people are in. You don't get any indication if you send them an invite or not, but it's kinda like the 360 dashboard...only worse.

It's a lost kitten that can appear in your town after you use wifi. She keeps crying and talks about wanting to go home to see her Mom. You have to visit the town she mentions to take her back home. Yup. You heard me right. We are doing our very own secret santa on CAG for Animal Crossing: City Folk (got the idea over on another AC board). The rules are:

*You must PM me by the 13th of December (Next Saturday)
*PM type of gifts you would and would not enjoy to recieve
*You must be on OP (updating tomorrow, finally)
*There is no min. or max., but don't be cheap to your fellow cheapass. Get them something fairly decent.
*No sending bells, it is not very creative and shows little thought put into your fellow CAG.
* You may send it by mail or in person, though it would be nice to send it with a nice letter.
*You will be PMd your giftees FC on either the 13th or 14th and the other person will be PMd yours (but not name or town, as it wouldn't be "secret" enough ;))

Or just make it blend in with the furniture set! Like, let's say you have a jingle set, you should add a christmas tree in the lower right corner. It would look nice and give you points.

I'm just sort of trying to get stuff to grow right now so I can fully go for a Perfect Town in a couple of weeks.

Right now, my town is set up like a factory- I'm going to plant as many trees as I can around nooks, and use that to harvest fruit until my Mortgage is paid, etc. Then I'm going to develop the rest of the town.

Too bad making a perfect town doesn't make the town look nicer. I think it looks ugly with too many trees, since I was just trying to make a perfect town. It's kind of hard to plant trees correctly, near where a neighbor could move in, that is. It will die if it is planted where the house would be located. Some spots around the sign will allow plants to grow, but others won't. You should test it out.

There is an unlockable gyroid storage room located in the Roost (Brewster/K.K. Slider/Museum Area) that will be accessible if you order and successfully drink 7 coffees (must be hot and on separate days for 7 days) from Brewster (make sure you have a gyroid in your inventory) and talk to him at the side of the bar, he will take any and all gyriods but he will not take duplicates(if you have more than one tall lullaboid for example). This gyroid room is displayed as a list of the gyroids you have collected.

Just wanted to drop by and say I downloaded the Wii Speak Chat Channel.

It's strange. I had 44 blocks open. I try to download it. I can't - I need 51. So I delete an NES game. Now I have 66 blocks open. Then I download it. And then after I'm done, there's 76 blocks open.

Surely conspiracy theorists can dream up fancy explanations for this.

As for the channel itself, it's nice and slick looking. Music is kind of catchy, all the menus are clean and refined. It's as cool looking as it will be useless since no one is going to use it. Which is fantastic, I guess.

It's another one of those "this should have been the case from the damn beginning" sort of things, or it feels like it. Maybe I'll actually test it out soon enough.

Here's something neat about the Wii Speak Channel. I put in Strell's Wii FC # onto my Address list, and through the Wii Speak Channel I was able to see that no, he did not put my Wii FC into his address book, which is under my avatar, like everyone else's.

Impressions: Slick interface, you can share photos which is kinda cool (I tested a few Animal Crossing snapshots), and the voice seems to work. There was some echo on Yukine's end, and we theorize the cause is his surround sound. I have no such fancy audio setup, and he said I was coming through pretty well.

So, again - something that should have been there all along. Nintendo always goes three steps forward and then one or two back.

Also there's a "change voice" button that causes ten seconds of....well, it's an acid trip. This was intensified in that I had a Mitch Hedberg Mii at the time.

Had a lot of fun in Pompeii (Io's place) tonight. Never caught a 'canth, but racked up plenty of robstars and fuutbawz. Dmunkee and GenDV showed up. I filled up my inventory with big ticket fish, went to drop them off, came back, and D was gone. Eventually nbbaballard showed up. Lots of good fun fishing was had by all.

It's late though, and I reached that point where I couldn't tell apart medium and big shadows, and would just go for any near me. This landed me with lots of dabs and olive flounders. :[ But is ok.

Ok, so Strell, Nathan, and Daniel (I think - sorry if I messed that up :oops:) were over to catch Coelacanths and after the man whose name I may have screwed up catches one the rest of us are getting frustrated.

Strell then comments on Moe's late night activity and how he needs to get some rest. Then, as chance would have it, we all ended up in the company of this rather overly made-up creature. After the shuvel crew did it's usual bang-up job, I concluded that this was clearly a lady of the night. And that must mean Moe's nefarious late-night shenanigans are clearly that of a pimp out pimpin'. Well, Strell did say upon entry to my town that he was told to be careful out there. It is a rough place, as my bandages can attest ;).

They are as big as tunas/rays/stringfish. Sea bass are kind of big, but not long. Tunas/rays/canths/stringfish are pretty long, and not fat or thick.

The basic idea with AC is that anything extra shuts down whenever visitors are around - can't donate fossils, can't put down designs on the ground, can't move furniture in your house when they are in it, etc.

I did have an instance, however, where Sahara showed up in my town along with someone visiting it. I could have sworn she wasn't in it beforehand, and then they came over, and bam - there she was. I could be mistaken, but I'm just so sure she wasn't there.

My theory from earlier re: turnip pricing changes (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5200423&postcount=1493)

In short, I think it changes at noon and 12 AM. If your Nook's stays open until 1 AM, you can see the price change at that time. However, it carries over to the next day on until noon.

In other words, it'll change at midnight to X. X stays active until noon (a full 12 hours), where it then changes to Y. After 12 hours at midnight, it changes again to Z.

Technically you could argue there are "three" turnip prices a day, but determining the price at midnight will tell you what it'll be in the morning.

This is my theory, and as such requires corroboration.

Oh yea - Friga in my town wants "cool clothes." I figured this meant any clothes. So I bought something cheap from the sisters. She rejected it. So I bought the other two. She rejected these as well. So I took the five backups I have in my house - all rejected. So I went and bought a 6400 Cow shirt from Gracies (since Friga is a short round penguin anyway, I figured it would look funny). That would be awesome if so. Why couldn't they make the pattern designer be a DS download app? There are really simple, make-sense kinds of things that they utterly failed to do in this game. Sometimes it pisses me off :bomb:. Being able to use the DS for pattern designing would have been a great example of Wii/DS connectivity as well.

I have some great patterns I made in the DS game that I would love to bring over, but oh well...

As for the Nook being open till 1am thing, I don't get it. Is this just something that some people get and others don't? I'm on the third variation of Nook and it has always closed at 10pm. It is highly annoying and that is the main reason I have my clock set back a few hours since I'm nearly always playing after that time. That reminds me, I need to get turnips (after I sell all those fish stored in my house from last night ;)).

Needless to say it didn't work, but at least I finally got some FROOTS! Cherries, Peaches, Oranges, and even a Coconut!

Heh. Updated and put the guys I forgot about at the top. Though, of all people who sent me pms, you only pmd 3 days ago, and in the wrong format. So there's no need to get that upset over 3 days. My time on this thread isn't supposed to be dedicated to the master FC list entirely, I just update it about one time a week or so.
