Here's the deal, I went to track an Amazon order online, and it says the game was delivered. Problem is I was home all day and didn't hear the UPS truck (yes, I can identify it by sound now), and when I checked the mail shortly after the time it says it was delivered there wasn't anything on the porch. For anyone that has had this happen before, who do you recommend I contact, Amazon or UPS?

i would contact ups first, if they are no help, get in contact with amazon...i've had this happen when i was at school.

i ordered from amazon and on the day the package was delivered, it was nowhere to be found. i contacted ups and they were no help. when i called amazon, the customer service rep put in a replacement order for me and i had the new package the very next day.

now, this was back in january, so i don't know if their policies have changed. good luck to you, sir.

I believe you should contact Amazon first - they do a trace and try and figure out where it went, and they ship you one in the meantime. The one time that this happened to me they shipped me a new item no charge. Obviously if this happens too many times they may ask that you not use Amazon any more.

Check your perimeter first:

Look in the bushes, around your house, the back/side door, and anywhere else the UPS Ninja may have thought was a "safe place" to stash your package.

I've seen too many posts of people finding packages up to a week after they were delivered due to the secret delivery. You might be able to call UPS and ask them exactly where they placed it. Sometimes they jot a note of it for their records for when they receive a call like yours.

The most unique was a package delivered during a snowstorm. The snow covered up the package, so the recipient didn't find it until the snow started to melt, exposing the buried treasure days later.

Contact Amazon first. They're going to end up contacting UPS anyway, and UPS is going to be more willing to deal with them than you.

check the ship to address.

make sure that it wasn't sent to a different shipping address.

I hate UPS. This happened to me before. (http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181462) They seriously suck. Not only that, they also lost a 2nd package that was meant for me. I refuse to use them now. They screwed me over way too much.

I recently had the same problem, but with USPS. The tracking number said that it was delivered, but there was no package at the house. I called the post office 3 times and after getting no help from them I just dropped by and actually talked to the person who delivered it. All he tells me is that it was delivered and there's nothing they can do about, which seems like total BS. I finally contacted Amazon about it and they immediately replaced the item no questions asked and shipped it One Day Shipping. I'm extremely happy that Amazon replaced the item (and shipped it One Day Shipping!), but I feel that they shouldn't have even done anything since it's the post office's fault. Now I feel like if I buy something from Amazon again and it gets lost there's nothing I can do, I can't keep asking for replacements.

Thanks for all the help guys, but it looks like it was delivered to a neighbor or something and they took their time returning it, because when I opened my front door this morning it was sitting right there on the porch. Unfortunately I now have to go through the Amazon return process, I ordered the Call of Duty World at War CE and it looked like someone drop kicked it or something, the lower back half of the tin is all smashed in.

you should've seen the smashed box coming. About half of the time my packages arrive screwed in some way.

Thats good that you got your package. I'm still waiting on mines, was supposed to be delivered yesterday but no one was home so I got a note. Since when do you need to sign for an amazon package?

Did you use Prime? Prime always require a signature.

Also, I believe it says somewhere on Amazon's site, any package over 400 bucks requires one, and that they leave it up to the driver for every thing else.

Hmm, I've been using Prime for quite a while and I've never once had to sign for a package. As far as the damaged game goes the shipping box didn't have any damage at all, just the tin itself.

Weird, I've always had to sign for my Prime packages. I guess it's the "up to the driver thing"

Did you check the status? Usually they put left at back door or something else into the field after DELIVERED :

They just left one at my back door the other day, I have NEVER had anything delivered to my back door in my entire life, I don't know whats up with UPS or Amazon but they need to learn to deliver to the front door.
