If its an expensive enough product, have you filed mail fraud? If so, how was the outcome? Just curious since I might be in a situation where I have to take this course of action

The guy hasnt been replying to my emails since thursday(he received the system wednesday). Im gonna give him until wednesday/thursday before I start seriously considering giving him bad trader report and file mail fraud since we were trading systems(my 360 and stuff for his ps3 and stuff).

btw, its on gametz if you were wondering

Send a message saying that if you don't get a reply by wednesday, you will file a BTR. If that happens, wait until next wednesday to file the mail fraud report. That way it gives him a chance to actually send his end.

we'll see how that goes, just emailed him and messaged him via gametz

he's only replied to me once since he's received it and that was to say "sorry about no contact" and that he would ship by 4 pm last thursday and then notify me when he shipped, which he never did

Hopefully you won't have to use the mail fraud form. I did it once about 4 years ago and had no results at all. It took a while filling out everything and then I heard back from the post office after 1-2 months, but it was never resolved in my favor.

Since you have the person's address information, I would contact their local police station and talk to someone there about the fraud. Or you can fill out a form with the FBI online fraud division. None of these are guaranteed to do anything, but make sure you tell this person what you are doing and hopefully it will scare them into fixing it.

Good luck

Bill normally tells people to wait a bit longer than a week to file a BTR unless there's some extreme circumstances, like the guy sending you a PM that says "haha sucker ur mom eats ponies" or something.

I would make a post in their Site & Feedback forum and go from there.

Being the seller and buyer that i am, i know how important communication is. Ive got a ebay sale i recently made and am still waiting on payment, and definitely wont send item until ive received it. Ive never done a straight up trade, but think it would definitely have to be a show of trust between both parties. I would almost have to know the other person to even consider doing that. Not being able to leave negative feedback on a buyer on ebay does indeed suck since they can basically do whatever (and say whatever) they want and i cant really do anything but log a complaint on paypal...

Funny if this guy stole from you in person he'd be arrested by now. But since its online no one cares.

why I never use ebay period. Craigslist meet in person public place, daytime thats it.

yea, this has pretty much gotten me to just deal with gamestop, b&m stuff, etc

Ive noticed with the change in feedback capability as a seller, that people i sell to are becoming a lot more slow to hold up their end of the bargain. Not only that but almost no communication at all on their end, im glad i dont do many ebay transactions...:hot:

This is 'cause you can't leave any feedback other than +++. They just take their sweet-ass time.
