WTB PS3 compatable Arcade Stick

With all the great fighting games coming out, I'm looking to finally get a solid Arcade stick. I'm looking for one on the cheap (below $50) and, if possible, in the Vancouver B.C. area. Can anyone help me out? PM me or reply to the thread with details. Thanks!

If you're looking for one in the $50 range I would suggest the Hori 3. I've never seen any in store so you may have to look online. But if you're really looking for a solid quality arcade stick, you'll have to spend more than $50. You can purchase quality Sanwa or Seimitsu parts for the Hori 3 but the installation can get a bit tricky with some things.

You could also look into getting your own custom stick built (which is what I did). finkle on SRK forums does a damned good job but he's usually pretty busy. But with this you can even get it set up with multiple PCBs, say 360 and PS3. He makes it to your own specifications as well.

In the coming months Mad Catz is releasing some quality SF4 gear (weird, quality stuff from Mad Catz) so you may want to wait for them. They're releasing a gamepad, standard arcade stick, and higher-end arcade stick.

I'm new to having an Arcade stick, so I think a cheaper one would be good for me. I'm not sure if I want to go bawls out on a $100 stick. Thats why I wouldn't mind buying it off someone if they have one they want to be rid of. Thanks for the advice, i'll look closely at the Hori 3.

question: i've got the old namco stick from the ps1 or ps2 days. it's always been awesome and is in great shape. is there an adapter that will allow me to use it on the ps3? anyone know if it'd work?

some do with a PS2 to USB adapter. If you can find out the model I will look it up.

Oh, another tip. If you trust quality, the guy in charge of that Tekken site you linked and the one who reviews ALL of those arcade sticks is personally overseeing the production of the SF4 gear. If you want to wait a bit (I think it's like a January release) I believe the lower end stick is going to be in the $50 range, and it also looks PIMP.

Thats good to know. Would you think its going to be available in Canada for 50bucks? Because shipping from Japan is always expensive. :/

It's from Mad Cats so it's a North American made stick, so no worries about that.

By the way, I believe it is Mad Catz. The "Z" is very important it makes them extreme.

No. MarkMan can shed some light on that, I'm sure, but there's pretty much no way.

I'm quite positive that it will be sold separately. I'm thinking of getting one or two arcade sticks this winter. My friend is actually heading to Korea and I am thinking of asking him to get me some Saulabi (cheap) or Hori Real Arcade sticks (quality). Exchange rate makes it even better.
