I know they cancelled SNL off Comedy Central a little bit ago, but now it's really getting to me. How the hell could they sell or trade SNL, it's like they're trademark, whenever I thought Comedy Central, I always thought of SNL. When they first did it, I was like, "Hmmm, maybe Mad TV is pretty funny." Man, was I wrong. I about always have the TV on and Comedy Central is usually on, so I've seen alot of the Mad TV episodes. I think I've laughed about a total of ten times at ALL the episodes I've seen. Does anyone else think this show is just plain stupid?

SNL was way funnier. Some of the characters on Mad TV are just annoying.

Other than that Stewart character, there is nothing entertaining about Mad TV. Is SNL even on E! anymore? I know they were playing it when they first bought it, but I haven't seen it since January.

I wish some of people on SNL didn't leave though.

Ironic....I DESPISE Stuart...Actually, I dislike any of Michael McDonald's characters. I kinda like *him*, but his characters are all the same.
I really like Will Sasso, Pat Kilbane, and Alex Borstein. I'm liking Mo Collins more the more I watch her. I prefer MadTV to SNL, I haven't found SNL funny in about the last twelve years, but MadTV started, in the past few years, taking a lesson from SNL, and milking the hell out of some of their characters.
I actually got sick of even seeing SNl listed on the channel guide, but I don't like seeing the same show played 4 times in one day on the same channel.
MadTV can definitely be a lot more risktaking, but it started getting blah when it started having musical guests. Except for Corky and the Juice Pigs, they rock :)

I really hate Mad Tv. I used to watch a lot of Comedy Central and now I only watch it after 9:00.

Alex Borstein is damn irratating. The only funny ones are Will Sasso and Michael McDonald.

Yeah, Daily Show and XMC are pretty funny. Saying XMC is funnier than Daily Show wouldn't do just 'cause they are two different kinds of humor. Daily Show is more witty, while XMC is just, well, I don't know how to word it.

Tough Crowd is also really funny

Madtv stinks and will always be the "snl wannabe show".

I can't stand how much they put it on comedy central - it is so annoying.

About 1 out of every 10 sketches is funny.

The show sucks...but it's probably not Comedy Central's fault that they lost SNL. This could be wrong, but what I've heard is that Lorne Michaels (man who created and still runs SNL) upped the license fees for the reruns. Comedy Central wasn't willing to pay; E! was. That, in a nutshell, is why SNL moved. Comedy Central picked up MadTV to fill the gaping void left by the absence of SNL.

That said...MadTV blows. I'm not entirely sure why it's still on; I've never found the show to be even half as funny or as well-performed as SNL, and I know that I'm not exactly in a minority there. I hope that Comedy Central's execs come to their senses and cancel it soon...

XMC is sophomoric humor. Is that the word you were looking for.

what's XMC stand for again? I was disheartened to hear about the SNL/ MadTv change and i don't watch it all that much because it plain sucks. SNL is much better.

south park completely rules though.

Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, and it's actually MXC

Wow, I thought I was the only one who really missed SNL on Comedy Central (and felt MadTV was a poor, poor replacement). If it weren't for that one change, the channel would really be on fire, with Tough Crowd, The Daily Show, Chappelle's show, and South Park.

i don't watch tough crowd all that much. it used to completely suck and no one used to watch it barely ever. it's on pretty late for a school night (for me) and its mostly about political debate issues, which completely bores me *yawn* so i'd rather be watching something worthwhile up that late, although its a good anecdote to put me to sleep! :D

really? i find that show quite funny, it has it moments. and does anyone know if what they're saying is scripted? because most the time it seems like it, everything just goes along pretty smoothly.
and yeah, mad tv is teh s uck. snl was undoubtingly better than that horror they call a show.

The only skits I can remember and were funny to me was the crazy UPS guy and the Schwarzenager however the hell you spell it impressions by Sasso. Comedy gold.

I also like that show with Colin Quinn, I don't know if thats Tough Crowd, but him and some other comedians BS about stuff. Yeh I think that is Tough Crowd =P. Also Chappelle's show is hot.

i dont see why everyone disses mad tv, sure its not too good anymore but they had some great seasons for about 5 years and hey if u look at snl now that sucks too. Face it SNL, Mad TV, and the Simpsons all suck now because there out of material. SNL's only good years were 91-94/95

forget mad tv and snl, upright citizens brigade is what it's all about.

of course, amy poehler is on snl now, but i try to ignore that.

and we can't forget viva variety.

comedy central's original shows are usually pretty good, excluding a few.

Wow, you must be pretty young/imature/ADD-ish not to appreciate Tough Crowd. It's one of the funniest shows on CC. The humor is razor-blade sharp. And screw SNL and Mad TV, Kid's in the Hall is where it's at. Those Canadians are so funny. And Chappelle's Show is the driving force in CC's lineup right now. Factor in that a new season of South Park is about to be unleashed, I'd say Comedy Central is one of the hottest channels on TV. Straight Plan for the Gay Man ain't half bad either.

I agree with Mr. Anderson. I never thought Colin Quinn was funny at all during SNL. But on Tough Crowd hes definitely a laugh riot.

Too bad UCB never got, oh, a real SCHEDULE so they'd get an audience.
I'm glad Amy got the job, but disappointed that it's SNL--it seems like a step down.

tough crowd can be good, but it really depends on who the guests are. many of them aren't funny, but others are very funny, so it's a hit and miss situation. writing it off because it's "politcal" isn't a very good decision, though.

colin quinn's weekend update was far better than the current one with jimmy fallon. jimmy fallon needs to end.

SNL needs to end. It's completly gone bust. Will Ferrell was the last great funny dude on it. It's over guys.
