Greatest single player experience of all time.
And a multiplayer mode that is actually quite good.
That's all you need to know.

But, really, the first was an outstanding title, and a sequel a welcome, but expected, gesture.

They'll probably be in a similar style myke.
What was really nice is the in game rewards for getting them. (and yes, i know the rewards were built in before the trophy patch)
That made me want to get more of them.

The subtitle is a bit of an odd one, but I'm guessing Among Thieves suggests that Nathan needs to assimilate himself into a group of enemies at some point, which would account for the mention of stealth gameplay.
Definitely looking forward to more details.

They'll drop that 2. Or at least I hope they do, because it doesn't sound right with that subtitle in there.
Anyway, that snow looks pretty freaking amazing. Like sand, really. But I wonder why Nate doesn't have like a jacket, or at least a long sleeve shirt. And why the jeans, too? Someone needs to send him to a store or something, because he needs a new wardrobe.
I like the idea of adding a sneaking mechanic if it works well. If you could have snuck around in the original Uncharted, it could have made it better. As far as free climbing goes...I can guess what they mean, but whether it actually works out that way is another story.

I think some stealth could be done well. By the way Uncharted was like IMO, stealth should work for it (like let's say Drake is trying to sneak somewhere, and he has to quietly take out the enemies).
In a way the first had stealth because I had to put an enemy in a headlock and kill him (without alerting other enemies.

The biggest difference between Drake's Fortune and almost every Tomb Raider game is that they focused only on one locale, whereas in Tomb Raider games, you went to various locations. This allowed them to make Drake's Fortune a better game because they had a single design for it. A jungle.
Now it seems like they're going to the Himalayas. I'm guessing for the 3rd one, they'll go to the Pyramids in the desert.

True, but not entirely true - you did spend part of the game underground, going through an old castle, etc. In my mind, what really separated Uncharted from Tomb Raider was the story - by the end, I really cared about the characters and cared how the story played out. I especially liked how Drake would make random wise cracks throughout the game ("Wow, I'm really wet!")
I love the Tomb Raider games (well, 1, 2, Legend, Anniversary, and parts of Chronicles, at least), but I really don't remember much about the story in any of those games. But, at the same time, I would could almost argue that TR is in a bit of a different league - it's focus is more on exploration and puzzles. But, ether way, Underworld is at the top of my Christmas list this year :D

there was a little bit (and I mean little bit) of steath action in the first Uncharted. There were about one or two sequences where you were given an opportunity to sneak around and stealth kill some people. If they're going to add anything, I'd like for them to add some more action vehicle sequences, like the beginning of Uncharted where you're on the boat.. that was very exciting. Or if they're going to add some more wide open areas, then nothing wrong with adding in a vehicle, or two. The water ski mission was superb in the original Uncharted [I forgot about that one]

It was a teaser trailer... wtf are you talking about?
Well people complained about to much combat before so I think any stealth stuff might be used to counter act that issue.
Not really sure why there is so much dislike for the possibility of their being stealth parts. There has been a lot of games where they did stealth really poorly, but who is to say it is going to be like that? It could just be the regular style of game, but you have the option on sneaking past most of the enemies opposed to fighting them (MGS style)... I for one was hoping for some "stealth" style gameplay in uncharted 1, I wanted to take advantage of that sweet snap neck animation.

New Uncharted 2 Details
http://m2.n4g.com/8/News/244000/244622_1_hs.jpg maddoggnick96 on Gamefaqs.com has posted some info from the new GI magazine:
- The biggest thing in the article IMO is that there's a new girl named Chloe Frazer. GI asked about Elena and Sully's return but they had no comment.
- The story is about looking for the ships that Marco Polo (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:void%280%29) "lost" while returning home to Italy.
- Melee combat is more dynamic now.
- They mentioned they were using only 30% of the PS3's power with Drake's Fortune and are planning to use nearly 100% with Among Thieves.
- A demo was shown to GI with Drake going through a city (I believe in Nepal), and he's stealthily taking out guards and escaping the city.
- Nolan North returns to be Drake and Chloe Frazer is played by Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1, Fargate).
- The Sixaxis mechanics were ditched for such things as throwing grenades.
- One of the weapons revealed is a rocket launcher that Chloe uses (might only be for the cinematic).
- There are no load screens.
- The score is being composed by Greg Edmonson (same guy from the first one).
- Weapons can be used in any stance (running, behind cover, hanging, climbing a wall, etc.).
- You can now move while aiming behind cover.
"In Uncharted 2, every character fully interacts with the dynamic geometry moving (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:void%280%29) around them, and environments in the background are real parts of the game world"
"If Drake's on top of a train, he's going to be shaking with the train as it moves around"
"As he gets inside, his moveset is going to change, and he's going to be a lot more secure because the wind's not blowing."
- The graphics look better than Uncharted 1.
- Button sequence cinematics such as the final boss have changed so now Drake is now fully controllable in these parts...I think (This one's also hard to describe).
- Climbing seems improved upon. You can climb lamp posts now among other new things.
- If there is an enemy patrolling a rooftop you're climbing a wall to, you can pull him off the roof while hanging on the wall.

What happened to his necklace? Ooh, plot point.
Sweet. I like how they manage to introduce the vivid color, even in the battle-torn town scenes. The sneak parts are looking a little Metal Gear-y. I wonder if the game will allow for avoiding battles to get to objectives, or if the sneak stuff is just a new gameplay mechanic. I guess I'm worried that it will be just forced upon the player instead of making it a cool new option.

Yeah it looks like it starts high up in the mountains with that snowy theme, and eventually you end up in the town/city.
Hm, if there's no more loading screens...could this end up being like WoW where you can cross different altitudes/terrains/game areas seamlessly? That would be pretty incredible to me...

I think you're expecting a little much from it. One of the problems with making environments as lush as the ones in the neogaf screens is that it takes a lot of manpower. To maintain that consistency over the area you're talking about would take a rediculous amount of work. Imo the loads will take place during cutscenes but honestly the Uncharted cutscenes were great and I'm actualy looking forward to them.

That's how they usually handle things, mask the load times via cutscenes captured in-engine animation.
Chloe Frazer looks interesting, there's concept art of how she'll look, but even Elena changed quite a bit before release.
Speaking of Elena, I would love to see her back in the game, at least for cameo just to see the interaction between her and Chloe.

I finally got around to reading the cover story article in GI and figured that I'd elaborate, correct, and add some new stuff from the article that was quoted a lot here.
First, the opening paragraph explains the premise very well:
"After more than a dozen years in the exotic court of Kublai Kahn, Marco Polo prepared to return home with a vast fortune of jewels and gold. He departed the far eastern lands with hundreds of passengers aboard 14 sailing vessels. Two years later, he arrived home in Italy with one ship. Most of Marco Polo's writings include intricate accounts of his extensive travels down to the last mundane detail. Yet, those writings fail to chronicle the fate of the 13 ships that didn't arrive with him to port all those years ago. Many believe scurvy and cholera took a horrible toll. Some say pirates caused untold losses. But what if something else happened to those lost ships? What if those forgotten treasures hid a deeper secret? One enterprising treasure hunter is clever (or foolish) enough to dig that secret up."
Not much different than the first in terms fo the gist of the story, but they also mentioned the locations and small details you'll be visiting in the game in order. There aren't really any specifics, but I'll spoiler it for those that want to stay surprised for a bit longer:
The initial search begins inn a lush, green swamp and moves to the search for the legendary, wish-fulfilling Cintamani Stone. Clues lead him to a Nepalese city (the one in the screenshots, I'm assuming) that's under attack by a paramilitary force that's competing with Nate for the same treasure. After that, you visit a massive ice cave, mountainside village, and a fabled lost city of Shambhala high in the Himalayan peaks. You've seen what happens on his way to the Himalayans if you've seen the trailer.
Another big point they make is how Nate's engaging in this journey to the seedier side of the treasure hunting world that was hinted at in quips between Eddie and Nate in the first game. I guess he's no stranger to getting a little dirty and growing beards to show that side of him.
They also mentioned that the writers did a lot of research and attended writing workshops to try to get the holywood movie-writing ideals and techniques down to try to make Uncharted 2 as much of a cinematic experience as they can make it. Apparently everything they've done, whether they were tweaks or additions, were done to push the story along and not just be filler. They're hoping to keep you on your toes and not let you get bored from doing the same thing for too long. Even parts of the environment that you assume are static and stable can hold a surprise, like the example of crawling up to a hole in a wall to get inside and the floor caving if you don't keep moving. They mention them being like QTE's but with you being in full control and no need to mash buttons to pass the test.
That's enough for now, so I'll address the notes from the details:

New Uncharted 2 Details
http://m2.n4g.com/8/News/244000/244622_1_hs.jpg maddoggnick96 on Gamefaqs.com has posted some info from the new GI magazine:
- The biggest thing in the article IMO is that there's a new girl named Chloe Frazer. GI asked about Elena and Sully's return but they had no comment.
While they don't talk too much about Chloe, she's apparently very compatible with Nate as the scene they talk about near the end of the article has her blowing up a ship full of enemies to save Nate's hide, then jumping up into Nate's arms, wrapping her legs around his waste like there's more going on than just being mutual partners. She's pretty much the female version of Nate, meaning she's tough and reckless, as well.
- The story is about looking for the ships that Marco Polo (http://javascript%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:void%280%29) "lost" while returning home to Italy.
Already fleshed out above.
- Melee combat is more dynamic now.
Seems more like you're not just hitting combos and hoping the punches connect, but it's more dynamic. Examples being that enemies will try to pin Nate's arms or wiggle out of grapples, but you have counters to those types of moves to stay in control. That's all the details on how that works.
- They mentioned they were using only 30% of the PS3's power with Drake's Fortune and are planning to use nearly 100% with Among Thieves.
It'll look great, which is all you need to know. They mention that the snow piles up and shifts as you move through it like you'd expect. The snow sparkles like the light is reflecting off of each individual snowflake. Nathan will even hobble around when he gets hurt to add more to the visual side of taking damage.
- A demo was shown to GI with Drake going through a city (I believe in Nepal), and he's stealthily taking out guards and escaping the city.
Don't take this as being like MGS or Splinter Cell now, as it's purely optional. If you want to barge through areas with enemies like Rambo, you can stick with that plan. Otherwise, you have the option of taking out unsuspecting enemies with choke holds/snaps of the neck, swinging them into walls to knock them out, pulling guys over ledges onto the ground below, and probably more moves to let you take down a few guys first to make the rest of the enemies nearby a bit easier to handle.
- Nolan North returns to be Drake and Chloe Frazer is played by Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1, Fargate).
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0085227/
She's got experience with game voice acting (God of War, Conan, Crysis, Project Sylpheed), but the lone picture isn't so great, so here's what google found: http://www.imagecows.com/uploads/8ef7-Claudia_Black.jpg
- The Sixaxis mechanics were ditched for such things as throwing grenades.
True, but the way they handle grenades now is that you aim the reticule where you want him to throw the grenade, and I mean where you want it to land, and press the grenade chucking button to make him throw it. The example has Nate throwing the grenade into a car, so you should be able to get very specific with where you want the grenade to go.
I'd imagine that enough bitching could get the option back in there, but it seems like they've designed these two mechanics around not using Sixaxis, so it may not fit the new gameplay changes as well as it did in the first game.
- One of the weapons revealed is a rocket launcher that Chloe uses (might only be for the cinematic).
Not really much to say as it's just how that scene ends.
- There are no load screens.
A bit of a false interpretation since there were no lead screens in the original, so this makes no sense. What they do say is that there's no visible loading, probably no texture pop-ins, and the second or two between cutscene and gameplay, which now features a seamless transition, whatever that specifically means. Basically, there won't be any hitches in the game at all that give you the hint that the game is loading assets into the game.
- The score is being composed by Greg Edmonson (same guy from the first one).
Pretty much all that needs to be said.
- Weapons can be used in any stance (running, behind cover, hanging, climbing a wall, etc.).
To add, you can get into cover aim for blind fire and back away from cover while still aiming the gun at the same spot, so there's not really much of anything that'll make you lose your shot. They even mention being able to fool the AI, which is supposed to be even better this time, by shooting some blind fire from behind cover and quickly getting away while still being hidden so that they head fo where they thought you still were. They also mention that the cover mechanic's been improved so that you should only stick to walls or cover you want to stick to without any mess-ups.
- You can now move while aiming behind cover.
He already said that in the point right above this one.
"In Uncharted 2, every character fully interacts with the dynamic geometry moving (http://javascript%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:void%280%29) around them, and environments in the background are real parts of the game world"
They seem to suggest that they will be able to do more than just move around for cover, but climb walls or do whatever to get to you if they know you're up there. They're not just props in this world to fill seats, but can move around if they need to in most any situation.
"If Drake's on top of a train, he's going to be shaking with the train as it moves around"
"As he gets inside, his moveset is going to change, and he's going to be a lot more secure because the wind's not blowing."
They give this the catchy PR name of contextual movesets, but the description just sounded like Nathan's animations and overall demeanor will change depending on the situation he's in.
- The graphics look better than Uncharted 1.
Already mentioned earlier.
- Button sequence cinematics such as the final boss have changed so now Drake is now fully controllable in these parts...I think (This one's also hard to describe).
They never mention the final boss when describing this, so I'm not sure where he pulled this one from. I mentioned it earlier about situations/areas that seems simple and stable can change without any hesitation so that it looks like a situation you'd expect to see buttons appear on screen, but you're in full control to fail or suceed and move on. It doesn't seem like you could fail these and have to retry since it mentions failing and that path being blocked, but you'd have to find another route to the goal as a result.
- Climbing seems improved upon. You can climb lamp posts now among other new things.
This is the free-climbing thing, though it sounds more like free-running/parkour as they describe traversing rooftops and such. Think a bit more Tomb Raider-style platforming (swinging from poles and monkey bars) included with what you could do in the first game and some parkour-style stuff in there, as well.
- If there is an enemy patrolling a rooftop you're climbing a wall to, you can pull him off the roof while hanging on the wall.
Mentioned this earlier, as well.[/quote]
That's mostly it for the cover story. They hit on how everything was done to add to the cinematic feel of the game a lot, so expect that to be one of the key buzzwords for this game up to its launch. Captions for pics mention things like the environments matching the original concept art very well, they hit the "flawed and fallible hero" bit some more, that enemies that can take more damaged will be visibly wearing body armor or donning shields so you know that your aim isn't the issue if they're not going down as quickly as their friends (also seems to tackle the lack of visual enemy variety issue, too), more player choices in many aspects of the game, that there will definitely be big set pieces and cinematic moments like the trailers suggest, and that the lack of the word "Honor" to make the subtitle the cliched "Honor Among Thieves" suggests that this hints at themes of betrayal and greed.
I'd definitely recommend getting a hold of the issue, from a friend or from GS, to read it yourself and check out the great art and screenshots, too. If you have any questions or want more explanations of whatever is in the article, I can do my best to answer them.

There is a pretty nice interview with Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells on Joystiq Playstation (formerly PS3 Fanboy).
Here's the link: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/04/joystiq-interview-talking-uncharted-2-with-naughty-dogs-evan-w/
Here's a little snippet about any co-op rumors:
You guys have gone to great lengths, it seems like more so than the original, to provide this second character Chloe with Claudia Black. Is she ever playable in the game or are you only Nathan Drake throughout the game?
You are only Nathan Drake. There are potential moments where... like on the Jet Ski in the first game where Elena helped you shoot and all that. It is a game about Nathan Drake and we are trying to make this the richest single-player experience that is out there. So, right now, the only person you control is Nathan Drake.

I'm pretty certain they're experimenting, or at least thinking about having co-op in the game. They would be fools not to since they already said Uncharted is a great game for couples or adult family to enjoy.
The way he words his answer to that question hints at this.
That said, it's unlikely it'll be in for Uncharted 2 unless they manage to pull of something amazing, or have it separate from the main story. One reason why it most likely won't be in is story constraints. There will likely be plenty of times where Nate is alone and him being alone fits best in the story (for example, in the teaser trailer where he retrieves the dagger). On the other hand, Half-Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 showed how to have a great story based game with a companion beside you all the time.

I just finished the first game a few nights ago and I really enjoyed it. However, did anyone else feel like the "tone" of this game was all over the place?
Essentially it is a 3rd person shooter in which you shoot and kill indigenous pirates, mercs, and other goons. So while I love violence, you really are murdering LOTS of people here. My problem with the "tone" is that the characters all act like they're in one of those shit-tastic Nick Cage Treasure flicks. Totally PG-13 character sensibilities, except that Drake feels it is obligatory for him to curse and say "shit". I guess I feel you should either play it totally PG-13 or just go all out rated R. It's just silly bouncing back and forth.
I must commend them for their rendering of the sidekick, Elena. She has the best "small" breasts I've ever seen in a video game. You don't get those too often around these parts.

Anyway, let me just say over and over again I do NOT want co-op in Uncharted, unless it was some entire separate mode. However, having co-op in a separate mode could also take resources away from the main single player, and no way I want that to happen either. There's no denying I like RE5 and some other games that have co-op, but I have a few issues with them:
-Storylines tend to get cut down, just because it can be hard expecting both players to continue watching/listening to the story (co-op works best in straight up shooters that lack story).
-When games have co-op, their gameplay usually needs to be altered to deal with two people. Just look at what happened with RE5. It's almost a requirement to play with someone else, or the game may feel a bit weird/un-balanced. Most of the time, I rather not play a game with someone and just play alone (especially if I'm playing through a single player oriented mode). When I need someone to play with me, only makes me less motivated to play (sometimes I rather just play alone, after being tired and don't feel like dealing with people).
-Uncharted requires lots of platforming (precise). Lots of platforming + co-op would not work. I'd be annoyed if I was playing with a 2nd person, and they couldn't make the platforms either, or the platforming being dumb down to make the game move faster.
The only way I think that might be better to extend Uncharted is just to have various leaderboards and such (like DMC4 has).

I agree completley with Mana. Adding a co-op element to the game would completley ruin what made the first game so good. Imagine trying to scale a wall with two people, the camera would be all over the place, it would be awful.
Drakes Fortune was probably my 2008 GOTY. (I didn't get to it till 08) If Uncharted 2 is half as good as the first and sticks to it's original single player design I'm sure it won't have any problem being my 09 GOTY.

I might be channeling my "PS3-only" owner wants for a Gears of War equivalent here, but I didn't see a problem with Sully and Elena when they pal'ed around in the first game (best moments were the vehicle sections). If only Eight Days wasn't canceled for those fuzzballs on Eye Toy... Eye Pet.

Eh, I wanted Eight Days to be canceled since the project wasn't really going anywhere (it was still very far from being complete, despite when the development started), and SCEE London developing an action game is a train wreck waiting to happen. They just can't do action games right (looks at Gangs of London or whatever its called on PSP, or any action game they kind of helped with such as The Getaway. SCEE London knows casual games well, like Eyetoy mini-games, SingStar, some Buzz! assistance, etc.). That's why I'm not surprised they are making Eyepet. The concept may look cool, but the same can be said about any time SCEE London goes outside the casual route. Keep in mind Eight Days had no online in mind either. If SCEE Cambridge was making Eight Days, I'd have faith in it being good (since they do make action oriented games).
I'll buy at full price.

I think it's fair to say that the game will feature some kind of multi-player mode. The question I'm most interested in is if there is co-op through the story mode, and right now, I don't think that's going to happen for this game.

So an "electrifying" announcmenet in 4 days. Any preditcions? My predictions:
- You can play as the Infamous guy in Uncharted 2
- BOGO - Infamous and U2
- U2 Demo in Infamous
- U2 and Inf will have online play
- Both games are canceled indefinitely.
Of those scenarios, the mostly likely is a U2 demo in Infamous.
However, I think dallow is right, it is probably just a general loosening of the gag orders on the game. We should know a lot more about the multiplayer, etc..

I'm thinking that the Infamous guy is going to be in Uncharted 2 with some of his abilities. I mean, some of the guys powers are just like shooting a gun. All they would do is a different aiming animation and lightning instead of bullets. *shrug*

And another announcement spoiled. Looks like there will be an Uncharted MP beta coming with Infamous. I don't really think Uncharted 2 needed MP, as the gameplay that's been shown so far doesn't really look like it'd be a good fit for MP.
Uncharted works best for me as Dude Raider, not Gears of War, so I'm inclined to agree with you Frisky. Still, I'd like to try the MP either way. Just don't know if buying Infamous is worth it just for that.

There are also the concerns that Naughty Dog hasn't made a single-player and multiplayer game before, as they've only had multiplayer in CTR and Jak X, so whether they can make it worth their while on their first time out will be the big question.
Infamous looks like it'll be fun to me, so that's a nice bonus. If you don't have interest in the host game, you'll have to find a friend that it's interested in Infamous or maybe find a Blockbuster or some store like that that may stock the cases on shelves without removing the stuff inside. I wouldn't bet against there being another way to get in through some site where you sign-up for a code.

I hope Uncharted's multiplayer can live up to the singleplayer. And if the rumors of co-op are true, I just hope it's kept as a gears of war thing and not a RE5 thing. Meaning that if I don't want to play with another person, the single player doesn't become really annoying like in RE5.

Sully/Elena were tagging along in the first and they were unintrusive to the player. Though now that I'm thinking about it, I doubt co-op for the campaign will be in U2:AT (where would the second player be during that whole train wreck escapade in the debut trailer?).
*Booty-shake* Yes, multiplayer confirmed. U:DF was so close to being one of those short singleplayer games on par with God of War and the sequel, but the whole supernatural twist was poorly executed and I only ever replay the first 3/4 of U:DF while the last quarter I don't ever bother replaying and a strong multiplayer would of counteracted that - plus it was painfully obvious that they were inspired heavily by Gears of War and this PS3-centric owner envys that game.
I don't get why people think singleplayer will suffer because of multiplayer, they already built an engine for the game and they could always hire a separate team. Who wants to bet that when the game launches, the singleplayer will be just as long as the first? Remember the unlockable skins in U:DF? That means they have a thorough animation system in place so I really wouldn't worry about the two stepping on eachother.
Still don't care about inFamous.

They have a nice trailer of MP gameplay.
http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3173932&p=37
Co-op info:
So far, it turns out, co-op is my favorite of the three new modes. It's also the longest in duration. Unlike Team Deathmatch and Plunder, co-op uses actual, in-game locations (whereas the competitive modes simply use art assets in new arena configurations). Rather than let you play through the single-player game with buddies, arguably making it more difficult to tell Nathan's story, Naughty Dog has put in special co-op side missions. Areas that may be clear when you travel through them in the single-player game will be swarming with enemies in the co-op side missions, letting you see them in a different light.
Chloe is playable here, along with Sully and Nathan (Elena's available in competitive multiplayer, but neither her nor Sully are confirmed to be in the single-player game), and seeing her in action is heartening; she's definitely got character. For example, when you creep up behind enemies, you can use a sneak attack finisher. Nathan has a pretty standard "all-business" neck-snapping move, but Chloe leaps onto the opponent's back for her chiropractic ministrations. Her melee move set also includes one particularly flashy maneuver that involves her hitting the ground, sliding past the enemy, and giving him a swift kick.
You can try to go off on your own, shooting up the baddies, but some obstacles require you and your teammates to gather together in one spot before you can trigger the next event. And if you ever fall in battle, you'll pray a considerate teammate's nearby as they only have a limited window of opportunity to revive you.
MP details:
As expected, Team Deathmatch pits the good guys against the a group of villains decked out in black mercenary garb. The gunplay controls a bit tighter than in the original game, but mostly uses the same cover and fire mechanics. Though also like the first game, moving from cover to cover is a bit awkward. Since bullet damage is still pretty low (meaning adversaries take a good deal of hits before biting the dust), the guys I played with tended to use a lot of run and gun tactics, only taking cover to rest a second and regain health.
Plunder is much the same, except in this mode you and your teammates fight against the other team for control of a golden statue. Once you grab it, you must tote it across the map and bring it to your safe house to win a round; the best of three rounds wins the game. The person who grabs their opponent's flag has to be careful though; with the treasure in hand, you move slower than normal and only have access to one hand for firing a weapon (limiting you to the pistol). You can, however, drop the treasure at any time -- you can even throw it at your opponent if you like. And unlike the Team Deathmatch maps, the Plunder maps seem more maze-like (though this may not be indicative of the final maps that'll be available) making it easy to get lost. Luckily, on-screen arrows indicate roughly in which direction the treasure is. (Or maybe not so lucky if you're the one with the treasure in hand.)
Of course, what's a bit of competitive shooting without other incentives? Each round you win earns you some money, which you can then use to purchase perks or skills, like steadier aim, that you can equip in one of two available upgrade slots. You can also find treasure strewn about each level (in the competitive and cooperative modes) that you'll be able to exchange for in-game currency. Certainly, the treasures and monetary system make multiplayer and co-op much more appealing, at least for collect-a-thon addicts (like me), or those wanting to upgrade their multiplayer skills. The three-player co-op side missions are also a nice compromise between indulging my social-gaming side while preserving Uncharted's Drake-only mystique.

After reading the MP impressions, I firmly believe that each mode will cost $5 because it is "beyond the scope" of the original Uncharted.

Me too. It's hard not to be concerned about it, given the attention MP is getting, and the fact that the previous game was only SP. I'm attached to the characters and the game world, so I'm hoping the campaign mode isn't short-changed in any way.

So from that video we can glean that Elena and Sully both make an appearance, there's a deep co-op mode for 3 players, a great multiplayer mode that could give gears a run for its money, there's an upgrade system where you earn cash to buy boosts/perks and weapon upgrades for multiplayer and co-op. Finally, on top of all that, we should be getting a single player campaign that's every bit as good, if not better, than the original.
In previous interviews they mention more difficulty settings, even settings that make the combat even easier for more casual players (the combat could be very brutal to those not used to shooters) which means you could potentially play co-op with a significant other who isn't as good as games but like Uncharted for the story.
It sounds really, really good, but I hope they don't pull a resistance 2 and skimp on the single player campaign due to the multiplayer features.

It was obvious that Insomniac didn't have as much time to finish and polish R2 to the extent that they needed. An extra six months to a year would've done helped it out greatly.

Just watched that video and further reaffirms my decision to buy a PS3 over the 360. Great stuff, Naughty Dog!
