I just got Clerks X and its SWEEET! The extras like the snowball effect feature was well done that it has made me sit down and start writing my own script. Overall a good package for all clerks or kevin smith fans :D .

Also I picked up the Clerks X and Clerks animated cartoon for $24.
I used the 20% coupon from the madden coupon book (BB) and the Clerks dvd had a $5 dollars off with you purchase the animated series.
Clerks X retail for like $25.99 it I saved a few and got the animated series for free  .

kevin smith is a media whore, I like his work, but he is getting more one dimensional with every movie he makes.

This is from the AICN talkback:

"Just who the hell does Kevin Smith think he is. He should be making sub-standard entertainment-free studio movies packed to the rafters with CGI, minimal plot and absolutly no characterisation. He should be 're-imagining' 80's TV shows, like The A-Team and T.J Hooker, for the big screen. He should be making overly-sentimental romantic comedies starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. He should be SUCKING EXECUTIVE COCK. So what does Kevin Smith do, he decides to lovingly craft a low-budget sequel to an independant black and white cult film starring the original cast! What a shaq-fuin' SELL-OUT. God forbid what I'll do if I find out it is respectful to the original material, let alone, fans of the original. When someone is passionate about making a film, for the sake of making a film, rather than money, it makes me sick. So sick, in fact, that I can taste the bile in the back of my throat. I can't sit here and think about it any longer I'm going to go watch The Chronicles Of Riddick. "

EDIT: and by the way, stop in to Jay and Silent Bob's secret stash at

dude he even has called himself a media whore, its nice he is goin back to clerks, but give me something original. Jersey Girl was filled with cliches and JSBSB was just a movie to put all his old buddies in. Give me something new, u can only go back to the well so many times. Something bold and original like Chasing Amy.

Remember, not everyone has your taste in movies. I happen to like all his movies (to varying degrees obviously), with the exception of Jersey Girl, which I have not seen yet.

Why did Arnold S. (I am not even going to try and spell it) and Sylvester Stallone movies make so much money? Most of them were crap IMHO!. Because there are an assload of people in this world and if you cater to a certain contingent of them, you will do OK for yourself.

i have the last version of the clerks dvd that came out, which was basically the dvd version of the laserdisc version.

what new stuff does this verson have on it, and is it worth picking up if i already have the last one?

I haven't actually watched any of the new stuff, but there's 3 discs as opposed to 1, which says something about how much new stuff there is. Check out amazon.com. That should list all the extra features.

i don't care what you fockers say, I am a strong supporter of the Smith enterprise and have been satisified with most of his movies until Jersey Girl!
Where the hell did that come from??
I know some things could have been better as well as JASBSB but in the end I was entertained with it and will be getting this version of Clerks as well.

I'm having a moviepoopshoot.com flashback. Wasn't Smith making fun of this type of thing in JSBSB?

i guess im the only one that thought chasing amy was just completely horrible....than again, i liked jersey girl (watched it last night)....if some of you would watch a movie and take it for what it is and not for what its "supposed" to be because ____ wrote it or ____ stars in it, than you might find them to be a lot more enjoyable...

Man I got that DVD yesterday and the lost scene part was hilarious. I read the comic, but seeing it on DVD with the voices was great.
I love all of Kevin's movies. I think some are better than others, but for the most part he does a good job. I would like to see him branch out into some other stuff, but like EA says, "if it ain't broke don't fix it."

I went to the Secret Stash yesterday for the Clerks X and Jersey Girl DVD signing party. Got to meet and take pictures with Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, and Marilyn Ghigliotti. Signing was supposed to be from 5pm-10pm, but the turn out was so big that Kevin actually stayed until about 5am signing autographs. Sure he's a media whore (like Ikohn4ever said, he admits it), but he's certainly proved he's dedicated and appreciative to all his fans. That's one reason he has such a huge following.

WOW, no one even mentioned Mallrats.

You know, you guys are so lame.

These movies are old, and have been through this shit over and over again.
Just buy the damn movie, and stop your whining.

If you're worried about being a scenester, go bitch on a fanboard.

ANOTHER thing,... JASB's SS is a dive. I've been there a ton of times, before they even did a flick. Can't recall if I met them, but I can tell you this. They have always been overpriced.
Not only that, I ordered a Gamera statue from them, which I saw at the store, but didn't have the outrageous price they were asking, at the time.

I called them up, they dropped the price on the phone, which was alright, and then shipped. Well, 7 days later (I lived an hour away, but I just sold my car), I get the statue. Not packed right, and all busted up! They refused to refund my money. I had to fight with my post office for over 2 months to get my insurance money back.

Point is,.... who cares. You're scenesters, and that makes you half-mongoloid!

:)
