Crazy price, I paid full price for this when it came out, it's still a little hard to find in stores. It's an unforgiving, time-consuming dungeon crawling JRPG, but it's a unique dungeon crawling JRPG that will likely keep you coming back for more.

Yeah I did the same...I don't usually play the DS but my wife likes these kind of games so they'll make good stocking stuffers anyways. Two Atlus DS games for $26 shipped seems like a pretty decent deal.

Amazon CSR can make changes to your order over the phone as long as it has not entered into shipping (ie., Shipping Soon status). That includes adding a new item to your order.

In other words, you don't have to create a new order for the item you want and to have them combine it with an existing order. Simply call in and ask them to add a new item to your existing order. However, this won't work for lightning deals and Gold Box items since a coupon or promo would be involved.

I'm not a big fan of dungeon crawlers, so even though it got really good reviews and I like many RPGs, I'm thinking that this would be a waste of my $12.

But actually, I think this is going to be one of those DOTDs where I pass on it, but regret it about a week later.

Actually, I don't know about anyone else, but none of my orders from the Thanksgiving weekend would combine AT ALL. It was ridiculous, I even tried five minutes later on one order and still no dice. Oh, they attempted to screw people as quickly as they could this weekend. I combined my FES order with my P4 preorder (and asked them ship together) but ten minutes later when I decided to cancel FES, they had already split the shipments and it was processing (to ship 36 hours later).

Yeah... it was weird this morning. I got Etrian Odyssey added on and decided to delete the PSP pouch for 2.95 since Etrian help me exceed 25 bucks. Then I read reviews and wanted to delete the PSP hard case from my order. Oddly, it was processing the order that's scheduled to ship on the 9th. (?!)

So, they screwed you by trying to process your order as quickly as possible?

I've combined a few orders because I hate how wasteful it is when I have 3-4 packages come in on one day. On one occasion, I combined an order to cut down on the waste and got an email later that day that they shipped it partial. (I combined three items and they shipped two together.) It was pretty funny and a little frustrating, I mean, I thought I was doing them a favor by limiting shipping costs for them! I would never classify that as them attempting to screw me over, though.

It sounds like you're angry because they decided to ship you the FES that you purchased and only later decided to cancel. It's a weird thing to fault their quick turnaround time. You can always just do a 'return to sender', I guess.

if you did FREE SUPER SAVINGS then the orders can not be combine

Sure you can. It all just depends on the status of the order you're wanting to add something to. If it's "shipping soon" or later (shipped), you're done. If it's not shipped yet or processing, you can call them up, give them your order number and the ASIN number for the item you'd like to add to your order and they do it on the spot for you.

It took me less than 5 minutes to add Travel Games for Dummies to an open order the other night.

I think the key is adding as opposed to combining.

Hehe ya trying to predict pricing now days will drive you bat shit insane. During the NES/SNES days I was too young and stupid to realize my games had or would one day have value. Then during the PSX era it started to dawn on me and I started to get pretty good at it and it was pretty easy to spot what games would either gain or atleast maintain a value. The PS2 generation got a little harder but it was still easy to tell with a better then 50% accuracy if a game would at least maintain or gain in value. This generation is all over the god damn place and my guess is its going to stay this way for good. A collectors edition or bundle package doesnt mean jack anymore and even small companies like Atlus have/can build a following big enough that it tosses the senses of collectors into a tizzy.

Before anyone comes in whining about how games arnt investments realize many of us know this and we arnt trying to make money off buying games. Most of us are just trying to buy in at the lowest possible price or a price we feel is most reasonable. For example EO2 is a game I have already played and thought it was just ok. Between the fact that I have played it and that I thought it was just ok this means it could be years before I ever touch the copy I just ordered. So that created the debate in my head, do I buy it now because $12 might be the lowest I ever find it at, or do I wait and hope it drops to like $5 as so many games do?

Its all incredibly stupid. I mean unless your a spoiled rich kid you have to work for a living....this means you wont have time to play the dozens of games your buying....so why not just wait and buy stuff like Dead Space and Fall Out after you finish the other cheaper games your buying? I think finding deals is a blast. However it is completely illogical to buy something just because its a deal. I doubt if you hated Chicken you would buy it if you found a great sale on it, so why should you buy a game just because its a deal if you arnt going to play it before it drops to a price lower then what you payed? Its just retarded.

I paid full price for the game and I don't regret it. I would have only bought another at this price to give as a gift (I didn't because none of my friends like such difficult games - I thought it was great once I got the hang of it). I decided to leave this DotD alone so that others could pick it up at a great price and enjoy it like I have. Please don't leave it in the shrinkwrap :D:D:D

When I was young, my mom always said "I'd buy an elephant saddle if it was cheap enough." I didn't get it then but once I got older I understood. I think I inherited her "deal" addiction as I have too much stuff - video game and otherwise - that I don't use and just bought because it was a "good deal." That being said though - I'll play this game as I'm always playing games on my ds. I probably have over 100 ds games and have played probably 95 percent of them and beaten probably 50 percent.

This game really wasnt what I was referring to. This game is amazingly cheap so even if its just being bought to add to a collection I can understand because it probably wont get much cheaper. I was reffering to the people buying several $40 games just because they are normally $60. If you have a job by the time you finish just a game or two then the price on the others probably would have dropped. So its compltly stupid to buy 3 $60 games for $40ish since by the time you beat the others it probably would have been $30 anyways.....

Yea I know what you're saying here. I think I have a different "condition" when compared to other CAGs in that I don't just buy every cheap game that pops up, but I'm always looking for the diamond in the rough cheap games that I will actually enjoy. I have a ton of games that most people would be turned off by (Timeshift comes to mind) but I've actually enjoyed them since I bought them at a fraction of the MSRP. That's cheap ass gaming to me.

That's also why I'm ticked off that I missed this deal because it fits my description of cheap ass gaming perfectly. I was just too slow to get to it.

I see that fairly ofter. CAG has a great price listed, I click the link and the price is much higher. (Even though it is still in the sale time frame)

I'm not complaining, I picked up a lot of great games at killer prices.

Exactly. My collection is way bigger then most people I know and its that exact reason. By waiting to pick up games on the cheap I can buy way more for the same price. And as you said you can find some real diamonds in the rough or games that atleast hit your play style and you enjoy. For instance I had a blast with Jade Cocoon 2 last gen. It was a game I would be pissed at if I payed full price but for the like $7 I picked it up for it was an amazing buy. EO will probally be one of those games for people this gen. A lot are going to hate it and think even the $12 was a waste. But there are probably alot buying it just because it is $12 and will find they enjoy it more then the $45 brand new game they bought just because it was on "sale".

Unless they are all gifts to someone else?

Yeah, after all Black Friday sales are to kick off Xmas shopping, not buying stuff for yourself. Of course some of us just do both. As far as only game software goes I've bought 36 games this month - 25 for other people, 4 for my wife (so they're indirectly mine), and 7 for me. Of the 7 I got only 1 was over $10 and that's only because I know I'll start playing it the day it arrives.

Some people just have different buying habits than others and plus, some of the newer games that come out won't last you longer than a couple weeks. If you buy Fallout 3, Fable 2, and Gears of War 2 on sale for ~$40 each for example, Fable 2 will last you about 2 weeks, the campaign of Gears takes about 12 hours, and then you can spend the remainder of time on Fallout 3 and Gears 2's multiplayer. You're not going to see a universal price drop on any of those games any time soon so these deals are your best bet if you wanted to play them all

Wow, this is lame.

Seriously, an ATLUS game sold out? Amazon seriously needs to hold more games for their discounted price.

You can do that online as well, once you place the order you can click on "Combine Orders" in your order status page.
For the longest time I wasn't able to combine any orders that used super saver shipping, or had a promo coupon in it.

Damn tried to call and get them to combine orders but they said they couldnt because my only order is Persona 4(they said they cant combine a pre order item with a current deal).
I think they BS'ed you.

I was able to add Dragon Quest IV ($20 DOTD) to my P4 Social Link Expansion Pack preorder over the phone. Few days later they decided to ship it first.

I got in on the deal this morning. I don't own the first one though, I wonder if I'll be lost when playing the second one...
