From time to time it has some decent coupons...but good articles? No. Good ratings? Not really. Anything new? Nope.

Got my new issue yesterday.

It's not too bad. I don't take the reviews seriously. It's a nice read while you're taking a crap, though :)

GMR is an ok magazine. Occasionally they have interesting articles. The ratings tend to be a little overblown tho.

I was just wondering because until recently, I had never even heard of it before.

GMR is alright. I like EGM the best though, closely followed by GI (The subscription is starting to make me like it more.)

i remember back in the day when gamepro had like 300-400 pages....they were great back than....now they're just retarded

as for gmr, they're not gonna tell the truth on most of the games because they're an ebgames magazine (right?)....so if they told you the truth, they'd be saying don't buy these....which in turn, makes eb lose money....

if somehow wrong about gmr being an ebgames mag, than sorry....but thats what every ebgames ive been in has told me

That's how I view OXM.

EDIT: Gamepro too, though I forgot that I even had a sub.

Id say EGM is the best overall gaming mag. GMR is like EGM lite...not as good, but similar.

They gave The Guy Game a 3 out of 10 when everyone else gives it at least a 7 out of 10. They gave Sudeki 6 out of 10. GMR gives truthful OPINIONS. The reviewers tend to make good points in their reviews. I also like it becuase they don't act like they are auditioning for Last Comic Standing on every page.

EGM is still my favorite also. Sometimes they try TOO hard to funny though. GI is decent too. It has come a LONG way since being affiliated with Gamestop. It used to be horrible before that.

I forgot to add that I like PLAY magazine too. It's decent and looks good on a coffee table. 8)

Someone needs to enlighten me as to how you can like EGM but not GMR. Let's see...it's put out by the same company (Ziff-Davis) and shares both editors and news article content...in other words, it's the same damn magazine but with coupons!

I still find Play Magazine to be the most interesting read; I just ignore their reviews since everything earns an A or a B.

*agrees* EGM has great reviews and articles and a good setup, while GI is also great but w/ not as great a setup (IMO)..EGM has like 3 reviewers, etc...but GI has the "Second opinion" and the "Edge" sooo....their pretty even for me w/ EGM winning by a hair ;)

I don't like any gaming magazines anymore. GI used to be good but it went down the crapper like 3-4 years ago when they did a major redesign; same with OPM. EGM went down the crapper like a year ago with their redesign as well. ODCM was the best magazine by far but they had no chance to survive make your time when Sega pulled the plug on the DC. GamePro has always sucked.

I've recieved my GMR this month but I can honestly say that if it hadn't been because I got it for free since I bought the EB Edge card for $10, I wouldn't have gotten it. It seems alright but I don't really like it for some reason. EGM to me has sucked for a while now since about 2000 with an anomaly of a good issue here and there. For some reason I feel that most EGM's reivew are bought out by companies so they can geta better review. I don't remember but I think it was EGM that gave Driver 3 liek an 8 out of ten or something. GI to me is the best magazine at the moment and totally the front runner with all of their info and awesome reviews. PSM hasn't been that good for some time and XBN is alright. Gamepro for some wierd reason I have been enjoying for some time now.

PSM has been pretty bad ever since they've changed the covers.

PSM really needs to get a new copy editor too. I see so many grammatical and information errors in every single issue. I'm glad my subscription is over.

Not true. GMR is made by the same people who make EGM, Xbox Nation, Computer Gaming World, etc. EB just has an exclusive right to sell it (Like Game Informer with Gamestop). That's why there is coupons for EB in it. If EB had an influence, GMR wouldn't have given the old NGage system a 3 out of 10, since we were heavily promoting it at the time of release.

Coming from someone who reads them all (free at work), I like EGM the best. Although I wish they would have more PC coverage, I really like how they have 3 different scores on games. The more opinions, the better.

Gamepro sucks. You get a better review of the game by reading the back of the box then you do reading one of Gamepro's write ups.

I still find Play Magazine to be the most interesting read; I just ignore their reviews since everything earns an A or a B.

Not only that, but most of the reviews are (barely) a paragraph long. There is also never a game they don't like, as like you said, they give almost everything an A or a B rating. Great pictures though, if you appreciate the art form of games.
