Is there any major difference from the old games besides GBA graphics?

No, I don't think there is, besides the pokemon from ruby/sapphire being in this game.

Well, according to Nintendo:
*Return to the world of Kanto originally explored in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, where the adventure is brought to life better than ever with dazzling GBA graphics and dozens of surprising new features.
*Experience the original duo's plot, prove yourself in the region's Pokémon League while single-handedly bringing down Team Rocket, plus pursue major new storylines that will add unexpected twists.
So it does sound like there's some new stuff beyond a few extra pokemon. I'm guessing that it'll probably be somewhat like Metroid: Mission Zero, where they'll insert extra side-stories into the game to give it some extra depth, and to add some extra surprises to those who think they know what they're doing because they played the originals.

Is the wireless adapter supposed to work with other units as a link cable? Or only with this one game?

it will work with compatible games. Many games in the future should have it

It does not replace the link cable, future GBA games will support this feature. Hopefully all future games. The wireless adapters only work on games that support them as far as I know. I read this a while back somewhere on IGN.com

Actuall that is incorrect, the game features all the Ruby/Sapphire improvents in gameplay. The games have the ORIGINAL 250 for catching purposes in game. So the pokes from Red/Blue and Gold/Silver. You can trade between the new ones, but the catchable ones are #1-250.

Gold/Silver had 451 pokemon, actually.
This has the 251 from Red/Blue, and that's it. You can trade in the pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire, but that's it.

My Best Buy put their copies otu at like 4 today so my friend and I jsut went over there to price match it with the Fry's ad. Got it for $23.99 + reward zone points. I wish I had reserved it though because I would've also gotten 3,000 RZ bonus points and a free pocket trainers guide.

Sounds like a good deal to me, anyone know if the wireless adapter works on both the GBA and GBA SP or does it only work on the SP?

According to Nintendo.com, the wireless adapter works with the original GBA, the GBA SP, and the GameBoy Player. Also, if you are interested here is a FAQ someone put together for the wireless adapter:

Well, idk how the hell you got that number, considering there are only 386 pokemon including the Ruby/Sapphire games.
