I bought this day 1 (but alas with trade credit). The MSRP of $30 is good enough, but $20 is a must buy.

A quick word of caution: Only the 9 XBLA games included have achievements (but it's still 1800 points). But I already owned 7 of the 9, and the disc itself doesn't have achievements, or even a listing, so it doesn't show up in your history or anything. Still... a great disc, and it's awesome to see compilations coming to the Xbox. That one Genesis collection is coming out in about 2 months to the 360, can't wait for that.

I don't have a 360 yet (although I have a crapload of 360 games) but I'm tempted to get this. I have a feeling it'll be cheaper eventually so I'll have to wait.

Is there something like this but for blu-rays?

I'd seriously consider it if I didn't already own Pac-Man: CE. As it stands, pass.

30 games, 9 XBLA aracde is a great deal for $20. I'm in.

I can see this dropping to around $10, and that's when I'll pick it up. I can wait; the game's only been out a few weeks.

So what you meant to ask, is if there was a version for the PS3.

And Namco laughs at you.

No thanks to this one, maybe when it drops to $10.

Normally I scoff at Namco collections, but this one is a good deal (especially now). Was a day 1 buy for me.

While I can respect those that are willing to wait for this to drop lower , and since it's a Namco Musuem game that seems inevitable , the dotd price on this is excellent. I mean for $20 you get:

Galaga Legions = Normally 800 MSP or $10 on Live
Pac-Man Championship Edition = 800 MSP or $10 on Live
Mr Driller Online = 800 MSP or $10 on Live
Pac-Man = 400 MSP or $5 on Live
Galaga = 400 MSP or $5 on Live
Xevious = 400 MSP or $5 on Live
New Ralley X = 400 MSP or $5 on Live
Dig Dug = 400 MSP $5 on Live
Ms Pac-Man = 400 MSP or $5 on Live

That's like getting all of the above games for only 1600 MS points. Not to mention all the other namco classics that come with the collection.

The problem, of course, is that many of us already own some of those titles...

I agree its a great DotD and a great buy. It is mighty tempting.....but I am with others and will wait for a cheaper price. These games always seem to drop to $5-$10 and my backlog like many others here consists of like 2 dozen games. It just doesnt make sense to spend $20 on this given those 2 facts.

But not Super Pac-Man which is also on the compilation(sans achievements), and to my knowledge not on any previous Namco release either.

That's true. I myself already have Pacman C.E. from the 360 arcade disk. I'd say if you already 4 or more of these games , then no it's not a good deal.

This is a nice deal, but I've spent way too much this holiday already!

Damn! Now I need $5.02 in filler!

Then again, I do have Namco arcade GBA, and if you've got Pac-Man:CE, Galaga, and normal Pac-Man, you don't really need anything else on that collection.

I have the Namco PS2 collection. I realize there are some highly regarded new games here like Pac-Man CE, but is the experience with the other games significantly better on Xbox? Otherwise I'll wait for $10 or less.

I would have been all over this even before this deal but the deal-breaker has been that the XBLA titles can't be put on the hard drive. That really ruins the appeal of the compilation to me. There are too many other things out there at this time of year that are more tempting.

^beat me to it

tempting, but if anything I'll wait.
If it were a code for all those XBLA games, I'd bite just because I don't have any and it's a steal, but having to put in a disc to play arcade games is annoying. not to mention I don't need to add additional height to my pile'o'shame

So what games register on on the GT and which have achievements?

In for 1. Been looking at this since it came out, and there's enough XBLA titles on there that I don't own that makes the non-XBLA titles come along for free.

Can I play on-line against someone who purchased the individual game off of live?

Exactly! I'm REALLY tempted to buy this, but my backlog is too big and I probably won't get to it right away so I'll wait for it to fall to $10.

Thanks! I thought that was the case but wasn't sure. So now its time to add them up and figure out if I will make the purchase...

I hated how, in order to play any of the Live games, you had to go out of the game menu and to the Xbox Live dash. If you end up playing a few minutes of one game or a few minutes of another, it's REALLY annoying to have to exit one to access the other. Poor design.
