lately, I been hearing everybody on CAG complaining about how bad ebay has gotten and the fees has gone up. and to be honest, i have not noticed any difference. I'm beginning to wonder if i should sell my pokemon ds (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DS-Limited-Pokemon-Pack/dp/B001CD3KSI) on there, its new btw.

Anyway tell me what you think.

I switched from ebay (over 8 years using it) to amazon to sell my stuff.

Ebay/Paypal fees are crazy.

Try amazon.

Youll get a nice amount for that pokemon ds.

I just checked the amazon fee for listing that DS.

Apparently, I will get around $150 if I sell it for $175, so 20 bucks fee? Seems kind of a lot.

Yeah i just checked too. (been just selling under 50dollar games)

at 50 dollars amazon takes about 10% commision total.
100dollar item they bump it up to 14% commision.

For games under 50 its pretty good/better then ebay.

I've been selling games on Amazon lately, and the downside is that if Amazon sells it themselves, you don't stand a chance unless you undercut them. The plus is that you don't have to deal with scammers and nonpaying bidders on Amazon.

Or a feedback system that is getting close to arbitrary IMO. I can't speak for Amazon, but as a casual seller and buyer on eBay it's a lot less fun than it used to be.

Try chasethechuckwagon.com

An auction site devoted to games with low fees.

You still run into the occassional scammer on Amazon. Not as prevalent, but definitely exist.
Most of the time they just do charge backs and claim the item never arrived.

Oh, and Amazon doesn't have PayPal taking their fee as well.

I'm thinking about selling things on trading sites and forums. The way I see it, the fees on eBay are so high that you could sell the same item for a big less on a forum and still break even.

Plus, there's less risk involved in forums.

I think eBay rips sellers, there's the fees, lack of protection from scammers, etc, but you get "market" value for your item.

I still use it, but I'm seriously looking in to selling my games on Amazon and here.

The bad thing about selling here, is you may get a little less, but you're not losing any money in fees, so it will probably even out in the end.

I'd use ebay for last resort. Use trade sites and craigslist before. If it doesn't look like you're getting hits, or need fast cash, ebay/amazon is the way to go. ;]

I say go with Amazon. I recently sold a used Fable 2 for $45 and a Fallout 3 for $50. That is pretty decent and even after fees I should still get around $85 for the pair.
