As for Legendary, it's averaging 45-50% on GameRankings, so it's been met with pretty mediocre reviews. Out of the big three in US reviews (IGN, GameSpot, and 1UP) IGN gave it a 2.5/10, GameSpot a 3.5/10, and 1UP gave it a D, so yeah, apparently it's pretty bad.

I wouldn't recommend buying Left 4 Dead unless you're an achievement whore.

Its fun to play the game for achievement but if you don't care about that you'll be disappointed when you realize you can beat all 4 of the single player campaigns in 30 minutes easily.

Its all about online and co-op. Played every campaign 5 times now, and I'm still not tired of it (and I buy games every 2 weeks, so this only happens ever couple of years were I find a game I don't get tired of). The best is that its ALWAYS different, even if you know every corner of were the zombies come from, it changes everytime. Very good game design.

Main difference is the challenge rooms for PS3(which will be DLC). Supposedly they also upgraded the graphics a tad also.

Got NFS: Undercover and Far Cry 2, played NFS last night drinking a few brews with some buddies. NFS:UC is easy and straight ahead arcade, not a bad game but not a GRID, probally still keep it and play through at my house with my account to get the acheivements then put it on my trade list. I know that when people ask me what games I want, I tell them they can get good deals on used stuff at GS. You can most certainly get near-mint copies, if that is what you're looking for, especially when it comes to newer stuff. I know that plenty of us have come across copies of games that look like someone opened them right in the store and then traded them in.

The coupon itself says the coupon must be surrendered to Gamestop on use, but every time I use one they can never scan it an have to type it in manually. It's highly unlikely you'll be able to get an employee to give you the discount without the coupon in hand.

2 discs in the GOTY. One for the game and one for the expansions that it installs on your hard drive. Meaning that if you don't care about completeness you can trade the second disc back in as just The Shivering Isles

Personally, I preferred Oblivion to Fallout 3. But I was always a bigger fan of the Elder Scrolls series than the Fallout series.

Fallout's environment may be more engaging but the role playing aspect is better in Oblivion. Much more open ended with many more quests. The quests part is the biggest for me but others may disagree. Thats just my .02

I'm playing through it and enjoying it a lot. The thing is, you have to really be into platforming over the combat, because there's a ton of the former with sprinklings of the latter occuring every so often. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, though it is rather entertaining. The only thing that I both like and hate simultaneously is that you don't really die, you just get "saved" so you never have a game over or really any penalty for being stupid, missing a jump, or just not knowing where to go. It streamlines the game a bit.

Overall, I'd probably give it an 8.5-8.7/10 or so, for the sheer fun of the gameplay, combat, the beautiful cel-shading, and the non-linear way the game lets you progress (though ultimately leading to the same goal). The negatives would be that, after playing for too long in one sitting, the game can feel somewhat repetitive, but that's usually if I'm trying to collect seeds instead of continue with a new zone, and it's remedied by just turning off the game for a couple of hours and then picking it back up with the same zeal I had before.

Well, you will face a lot of the same type of stuff, as it's platform based, and there are only so many moves. That said, figuring out how to get somewhere can take quite a few tries, which makes you have that "OOOOH Thaaaatt's it" type of epiphany moment when you figure it out. The boss battles in each sector are fairly repetitive, but they are a very small part of the game.

There's 0 online play (one reason I bought this game as I think there's an overemphasis on online multiplayer this generation) so it's completely single player. I haven't run into anything requiring online, and I haven't heard anything about DLC. Overall, if you're looking for a fun platformer with a gorgeous cel-shaded art style (this and Valkyria Chronicles are some of the only games in which I've been blown away by the beautiful way they do the visuals) then I'd recommend it, though I'd say pick it up used since single player games seem to get immediate returns to GS these days.

So today I bump into a bunch of associates @ GS that are chatting up about the employee appreciation sale coming up this weekend at Gamestop for its employees. Turns out the deal is 25% off for them ! Niiice. Also stacks with edge.

So I put down my 20% off used 360 coupon for Monster Jam, Oblivion GOTY, & Smash Court tennis and we all chat some more about Gamestops great coupons. Then I bring up the cellphone cellfire coupon about how I miss it and when are they bringing it back since it was 20% off ANY used games and stacks with edge (PERFECT for maximizing flipping returns)

Unfortunately, two of them went on to tell me that the cellfire cellphone coupon program was discontinued because people had found a way to print it out and even use it many, many times over. One fellow who thought he was pretty sharp went on to tell me how there are websites out there who post copies of the coupons (:shock:)

I pretended to know nothing of the sort but told them that their stores should have never let people use a PRINTED PAPER cell phone exclusive coupon.:-s

So anyways now its probably R.I.P. for good and probably the fault of many CAG's (:-k??) abusing paper coupon versions of a cellphone only offer but we can only hope they bring it back because I am sure it was GREAT for their business ? unless only CAGS ended up as the only ones using it ! :lol:

On my phone if I closed the cellfire program a certain way it would come back up to the coupon screen without using another view. Then I would also text myself the number on my other phone. It was sweet while it lasted though, but I was honestly surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Left for Dead is something I can find myself playing over and over again (but only with friends online) Some review said it was akin to why Pac-Man will never get old-- it's just a game with a lot of replay value.

IIRC (I've been moving to a new place and haven't played 360 in weeks) it's just the same four "movies" you can play through with your friends online. It's boring playing with the AI (although the AI teamates seems to be pretty decent)

8AM Eastern is when the website gets updated. GameStop corporate polls all the stores at night for their current stock.

Not always, sometimes they will show up and they aren't there either because it was sold after the poll to an employee or an employee has checked it out. Sometimes a store inventory because the poll failed for whatever reason. I've found it to be close to 90% accurate though in my case.

I bought Saint's Row 2 during the B2G1 online, and finally got around to trying it. Whatta ya know, doesn't work - locks up like crazy at the title screen. The underside of the disc has some serious discoloration, as it's much darker in a big blob on the center and lighter on the outer portion of the disc. Lo and behold, I peeled off the GS online stock sticker to find "Defective - Return to WH" under it.

Tried to return it to Gamestop for an exchange, but was told I'd need to pay the difference to get a working copy. Like hell am I paying them $14 more dollars to get a copy of a game that I've already paid for that works. I'll just use the 20% off coupon to buy another at $38 and return the crappy disc tomorrow.

What is it with them doing the pay the difference. Are they not reading their own return policies anymore? I've NEVER had to do that, they shouldn't be asking that either. Ask them if they require you to do that if you used a coupon in-store. That's just ridiculous.

I'm worried now. I just checked my disks I got from the Online Buy 2 Get 1 Free Sale, and all three cases have the "Defective - Return to WH" note hidden under a sticker. I have a backlog, so I haven't spent much time with the games I got, but now I'm gonna need to spend some serious time playtesting. Hopefully, it's all OK because each disk looks really good.

One thing you have to remember, they don't always put the game disc back with the case it came in with. They ship them with the discs in sleeves inside the cases back to the warehouse most of the times. Keeps the discs from getting too scratched by being in the spindle. They could easily get separated in sorting at the warehouse. Actually, one of my game cases had that too, but the disc was flawless. Looked like it had came from a recently opened copy of the game.

I was able to find another non disc only copy of Oblivion but was reduced to buying 3 copies of Monster Jam new.
