Im looking for a relaible MP3 player, able to carry at least 100 songs. I don't want to spend a ton of money (less than 150, 60-120 would be ideal) and I would prefer a rechargable battery
Does anyone have any recommendations?
PS: I KNOW ABOUT THE FREE IPODS OFFER!!! I specifically ask that no one post up their referral link, as I am already signed up, but I am also curious of anyones suggestions for a cheap alternative (I'm finding it hard to find referrals)

impossible. no such thing as a MP3 player that holds 100 of songs that has a rechargable battery. Only hard drive based MP3 players have rechargeable batterys

Go to Pricetool.com, and search for mp3 players, they have a few that under $150, Im not sure about a rechargeable battery. They have a 1.5 GB rio one for like $130, Im in the market for a cheap reliable Mp3 player myself, and they seem to have the best prices.

100 songs at 128kbps encoding is about 400MB, if you figure about 4 minutes per song. You can get flash based players that have 512MB storage. The ones from iriver are good; they use AA batteries, you can find plenty of rechargeable AA batteries easily. But unfortunately for you their 512MB flash MP3 players start at $250.

The Rio Nitrus would be your best bet, it is a 1gig mp3 player. It was selling for $140.00 at my Wal-Mart. I believe that Rio is going to discontinue it so you may want to hurry up and pick one of these up. The device is all black and has a blue back lit screen. I hope you can get one of these, they are nice for the price. :D

this one looks pretty promising (thanks for the help everyone) sure it may not have all the features I want, but the reviews are all positive, i can get it for cheap at a reliable site (amazon.com), and, like buttonmasher said, i could just pick up some rechargeable batteries.

yea, just buy rechargable batteries...but i dont think you can hold 100 songs on that...on mine, i only have about 30-35 songs b/c i usually get tired of old songs quickly..so i delete them and replace them w/ new ones...so..you really dont need space for 100 songs :)

you can get a little rio 64/128, and then get a good deal on a 256 card, which should put you close to your needs + cost

I picked up the Creative MUVO NX 256 MB at Amazon for $74.99. It holds about 4 hours of MP3s and it also doubles as a USB thumb drive.
