I've been waiting quite a while for this price, but now that it's here, I dunno if I should bite or wait for it to drop some more.

Very tempting.

I'm eyeing on this wheel...wishfully...

This may be a stupid question, but does this work on games other than GT5:P? I have no interest in that game, but I do have a couple of other racing games (namely Burnout Paradise) that this would be cool for (though, with all the money I've spent recently, $100 is a bit too much for my wallet right now).

Yes, it works on other games that support the wheel on ps3. It also works on pc.

i got the ps2 one for $60 and i havent used it since. what a waste of money. i was figuring when i play a racing game it would be cool but its not realisitc.

the force feedback is but the feel of how much pressure you need in order to turn the sterring wheel isnt. dont be fooled, its nothing like real life. its pretty much a arcade steering wheel.

This wheel is supposed to be a much better wheel though. I think once it goes down to like 60 i would get it.

What PS2 one are you talking about there were many different models DF, DFP, DFEX, DFGT, G25 and they all are completely different with handling in games. I have been using wheels for years and the DFP, G25, and the GT are the best for PS2 and PS3 and just speaking for GT5P and Ferrari it is very realistic, now for arcade games is a different story, but most are still fun. The NFS series is hit and miss, MW, PS, UC work pretty well with it. This is a great price I think BestBuy has it for $99 also. If your into racing games the wheel is a must have.

Doh, you're right--Amazon is PM'ing BBs weekly ad. Oh well, since cheapy isn't highlighting this deal and it isn't in the "Amazon PMs" thread, I'll let this one go. It's a good deal for a great wheel, but I think this deal will end on Saturday if not sooner.

I picked this wheel up from Amazon when it was part of the Gold Box Lightning Deal in August for $89.99. This price is tempting because I've been wanting to get another one but I think I may wait for a lower price drop. Or maybe I'll upgrade to the G25 Logitech.

Just went back up to $149.99. Hopefully there will be a perma drop soon, or a deal that takes it to $70 or less. I'd be less hesitant to purchase then.

Logitech had a similar one to this for GT4. It's the same with a few added buttons.
I actually liked the steering wheel a lot better when playing Gran Turismo and I play a lot better with it. I tried playing other driving games with a steering wheel, but it was incredibly difficult.

The Driving Force GT is mostly the same as the Driving Force Pro, but it has an updated/better force feedback system and motor. It's not as good as the G25, but I believe it has been updated from the Driving Force Pro. The GT also adds the knob for on the fly tuning, which is useful only if you're into that.

I agree with your comment about wheels working well with some games and not others. Some of the arcade racers (Burnout, etc) are much better on a pad.

the GT has even better lack of dead (loose) spots than the G25. but it's FF isn't as strong and it doesn't have a clutch or gated shifter.
