I got lucky and came across a few Bounce Back Racers at Target which is supposedly one of the hard toys to find for Christmas this year (I have my doubts though since they were just sitting on the shelf - although we were there when the store opened). I am gifting several to family members but I am going to have 2 or 3 left over that I want to list on eBay. What is the best time to list to maximize profits (both date and time of day)?

Thanks!

this close to xmas the right time is anytime as long as you have it end at a reasonable time, after dinner, or on a weekend.

As a parent myself I know if I'm willing to buy something that I must have it doesn't matter when it ends, I keep track of all active auctions and move my schedule around the item. However I almost always will use BIN over bidding head to head against someone, even if it means in the end I may pay a few dollars more. It prevents that auction fever where you become invested in an item and bid it to a ridiculous price.

These seem to go for $40 to $50 on ebay + shipping. A BIN in that range would probably sell within a day.

At $40-$50 it might not even be worth the effort... I paid $32+tax for each of them... Shipping will kill any profit.

I would start listing now, you need time to get the item to the buyer and I find that most of my buyers do not like to be rushed. Also keep in mind the post office is backed up this time of year as is every other shipping service so you will need extra time. I do think most people know there is always a chance they won't get it before the holiday.

I have been listing my items starting at the beginning of Dec. already however you can pretty much list all the way up until Christmas with good results as long as you make it clear that the buyer may not get it before the holiday.

When I said $40-$50 that wasn't counting the $8-$10 that folks are charging for shipping.

But I know what you mean, more often than not reselling the hot xmas toys isn't worth it unless you can do it in volume.

Around december 1st was a really good time. Prices were up high and there were a lot of buyers. Though, since then, prices have been going down. They potentially will go up like a week before Christmas but be sure to offer a fast UPS shipping option.

Anytime , you need to give the auction time to sit and get exposure and also you need time to pack the stuff up and ship it out. Last thing you want is to be going to the post office a few days before Christmas, lines are horrid .

Date: soon (don't let the auction end any later than the 15th)
Time: 9pm-midnight EST
