I'm a centrist. If I were to peg specifics: slightly fiscally conservative and somewhat socially liberal.

I recently moved to Cincinnati, and want to join a political group for socializing and networking; politics are one of my hobbies/passions. I've been recommended "Drinking Liberally", but that appears too liberal for me (especially fiscally). I'll attend a meeting and see. Searching for conservative groups, I find mostly social conservatives.

Where's the compromise fellas? I need some recommendations.

This is the first I have heard of one's desire to attend scheduled rendezvous with the politically like-minded. Is this common?

Hell, I'm politically similar to the OP but I sure as hell know I'd be annoyed if I hung out w/ my figuratively political clone. Good luck finding these meetups, OP.

I'm not looking for a political clone, just some open minds. I can modify my opinions if they aren't properly supported by facts, and I want to talk to others who can as well.

The problem with meetings like that is that they turn into a circle jerk. Good political debate doesn't come from like-minded people. It comes from the opposite.
