Yes, that is what they look like. I finally was able to finish my set when I was at home over Christmas. I think one store near me might have some still, so I might be able to pick some up if anyone was looking for them.

Most stores around here had generic signage without dates, but I only went when the deal started and most didn't even have signs up yet and haven't been back due to a lack of anything good being available. I doubt they would end it earlier than a posted date on a sign, but it could always be extended.

I'd put a date but until you mentioned you saw the 12th on a sign I've seen all kinds of conflicting dates and nearly all were just employee reports. I thought the 5th was the most commonly reported one though.

And as for the deal getting pulled before the date on a sign, that has happened plenty with BBV before so nothing is for sure.

Here's something that's interesting, just because I never noticed it before. Under the signage of the Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale it reads that there's a limit of five copies of a particular title to any customer... just wondering if BBV would use that as a way to sniff out flippers and ban them. Unlikely except for the most paranoid of DMs.

Most managers don't pay attention to the % title limit, my manager keeps asking me who soon I am just going to buy the whole table, I already got all the good flips, and most of the crappy flips. the stores around here get good reviews for selling used games and will do about anything to get sales.

I just had a manager price-check a used copy of MLB Power Pros 2008 (Wii) and they said it was $24.99. I thought somebody had said 2008 was $14.99 and the original was $9.99.Same here, and my manager is cool so i know she isn't lying to me.

As far as I know, the MLB Power Pros Wii (non 2008) version is $14.99 and eligible for the sale and still profitable after $5 Wii bonus. I have flipped a few.

I also saw a Mass Effect today for $14.99 and picked up the Samba Wii game with it marked at $14.99 as well.

The second half of the second post has a lot of them listed, but mostly in the context of which are good to flip to GS. However, I have been putting things on there that aren't even good flips (like Mass Effect) just to make it a more comprehensive list. It is by no means complete though. I'll add a few more PS3 games to it right now that I have picked up over the course of the sale (Lair $14.99, Untold Legends $9.99, Genji $9.99, VF 5 $14.99, etc)...

I went to my blockbuster today and picked up Monster Madness for 360 for $6.99 and Graffiti Kingdom for PS2 for $4.99 so got both for $7. Saw a couple other things like Dark Sector for $10. GTAIV was being sold for $24.99. Might go back.

They have Hellboy II Blu-ray on clearance for $17.99 which is a great price for a blu-ray and especially good since it came out not too long ago. The CSR was shocked when she scanned it and it came out at that price. I saw it at several BB but passed on getting it until I made it back to the store closest to me that I had credit on my account at.

I also saw a couple of copies of Mass Effect at one store but didn't see any at the others I went to.

I only ended up finding six Wii games and I went to two BB and a GR. The two BB had the six copies and the GR didn't have any. Hope to find some when I visit some BBs I have never been in later this week.

Bought up some games on PS3 and Xbox 360 to stock up for Trade 3 and get $15 extra promo at GS.

Pissed that the one store that actually had GTAIV on display for Xbox 360 didn't actually have it but the case was on the floor cause I actually wanted this for myself to keep. They had a few PS3 copies so I got one for trading.

I saw earlier someone was talking about applying multiple coupons - what can be used besides SAVER? I tried the 10% off and it wouldn't take with SAVER and there's nothing else that I'm aware of now.

Anyway, I still almost couldn't pull the trigger - not sure how you people could order 10-50 of them :lol:. I figure I'm gonna get cracked in half dirty case-less pieces of crap. And now I have to deal with the Smash Court Tennis that doesn't scan at BBV :roll:. I figured that was safer than Legendary or PoP or Oblviion because it is less likely to drop dramatically next week when this shipment hopefully finally comes in. Plus I felt like it was a waste not getting any additional discount on top of the Edge card when I'm sure a 20% coupon will be coming along soon - on the cheaper SCT that's OK.

Onto Blockbuster news, I found a new copy of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (DS) for $11.99 at a store tonight. I don't think this will be a likely find for anyone, but that's a fantastic price, so I bought it even though I already have a used copy (that I bought for a little less, but still haven't touched). I figure I can give one to my brother and we can play online.

Also, I saw some converted rentals of Fallout 3 for the PS3, and they were all tagged at $34.99! This seems like a fantastic price for what I hear is one helluva good game. Also, I found a copy of Samba De Amigo and the tag shows that it was converted on Sunday, so maybe you'll be able to start finding them this week or next.

BTW - For those in Des Moines, IA and looking for Mass Effect, there was one by the BBV near Merle Hay Mall. It is in the glass case and not mixed with the B1G titles. However, there really isn't many other mismarked games in the case, nor are there many B1G1 titles left. I doubt that is relevent to anyone here, but just in case.

Yeah, well I completely hosed myself up. I cancelled my order so I could go with Prince of Persia instead (and apply CAG16). Well, it took about a half hour to cancel like they said it would. The problem is, when I go to reorder Wii Sports it says I've exceeded the limit - hooray for crappy order processing management!

Edit - finally got through on the phone. They say I have to wait 72 hours to reorder it :rofl:. Oh, this is SO not worth it.

Why is Wii Sports suddenly going for $50+ on Ebay? Does it no longer come bundled with the Wii?

I've been to 3 Blockbuster/Gamerush stores. The used game selection was wiped out at all of them for the most part. They had plenty of the new games that are on clearance though. Didn't see anything I needed.

I did buy Hulk and Iron Man bobble heads on clearance for $5 each. Thought about getting the Mario Bros. miniatures at $2.99 each but waiting to see if they get cheaper. Grabbed a Dark Knight Joker bobble head for $15 after noticing them selling out everywhere (was going to wait to see if the price dropped). Keeping an eye on the clearanced electronics.

Splurged and got my g/f the $60 deluxe edition of the Dark Knight Blu-Ray, as I have plenty of credit built up. Hopefully, it doesn't drop in price in a couple weeks and piss me off.

If the B2G1 free were still going on, could I go into one Gamestop, buy the Endwar walk to the other one around the corner and return Endwar to that store, then buy it back along with the other two games for the b2g1 free?

This is a great way to get a group of three. Also, I've been going around an picking up my groups of three before the B2G1 actually starts. Yeah, well I completely hosed myself up. I cancelled my order so I could go with Prince of Persia instead (and apply CAG16). Well, it took about a half hour to cancel like they said it would. The problem is, when I go to reorder Wii Sports it says I've exceeded the limit - hooray for crappy order processing management!

So a sad milestone has passed today, due to my trade suspension, I zeroed out all my remaining BBV credit, I do not have a single penny left on any of my value cards or at any BBV store. I used it all on the B1G1F. My sons friends now all have copies of Crackdown and Mass Effect, and my nephew has made out like a bandit.

Yeah, actually, and I liked it quite a bit, especially on the Wii. There's a perverse pleasure in waving the Wiimote back and forth to slap a shop owner you're trying to extort.

I'm a huge fan of the movies (well, the first two, anyway), and I did enjoy all of the little winks and nods-- you get to break into Waltz's place to plant the horse head in his bed, you plant the gun behind the toilet for Michael. Plus, everyone but Pacino does the voices for their characters, including Brando!

Anyways, my stores know my name and face like immediately when i walk in the door. Now when they scan my card it shows up like a flashing message, not sure if it says to accept trades or not accept trades anymore but it says something to the extent of do not sell wii or wiifits to this person because he buys them all up.

I mean if that's your way to cash out, more power to you, but I wouldn't be so brazen as to flaunt that fact to their employees.

If they ask you what stuff is for, hell just don't reply, or have a nice little story ready. And even though I might have recently purchased the same item, I always have a nephew, or a little sister, or a friend that's been dying to pick up said item, and grabbing it is really going to make their birthday/x-mas/boxing day, etc...(you get the idea)

A good heart-warming story, a smile, and a pleasant nature will go very far in helping you to avoid suspicion, and the inevitable banhammer!

Just blow smoke up their ass from now on. They may assume they know what you are doing anyway, but they likely wont touch you if you keep making up stories. I have bought the same game on four or five occasions from some stores, and they never even noticed because I bought them one at a time or mixed them in with other items. If they ask, my cousin, girlfriend, mom, dad, roommate, friend asked me to buy it for them if I see it.

Even though they may piss you off, remember you are bending the rules to the extreme. Just bite your tongue and let them think what they want.

In the end, calling the DM likely wont help if youve been flipping. Just let it go by the wayside and drift into another district if need be.

Onto Blockbuster news, I found a new copy of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (DS) for $11.99 at a store tonight. I don't think this will be a likely find for anyone, but that's a fantastic price, so I bought it even though I already have a used copy (that I bought for a little less, but still haven't touched). I figure I can give one to my brother and we can play online.

Also, I saw some converted rentals of Fallout 3 for the PS3, and they were all tagged at $34.99! This seems like a fantastic price for what I hear is one helluva good game. Also, I found a copy of Samba De Amigo and the tag shows that it was converted on Sunday, so maybe you'll be able to start finding them this week or next.

Anyone else see fallout 3 for that price? I've been wanting that for a while and thats a really good price.

He then tries playing Jr. Detective & starts asking where I get the games I trade & how I have time to play allthese games I buy. I just say say the most simplest thing. Sounds exactly like my situation. There's a Gamestop in a Target shopping center. If you leave that shopping center heading west, you'll run into the Pacific View Mall about half a mile down the road. There's a Gamestop located on the second floor. Heading east out of the Target shopping center will lead you to a Barnes & Noble shopping center, which also houses a Gamestop. Jump on the 101 freeway, which is a stone's throw from all of these locations, drive four miles, and you've reached the next Gamestop! Personally, I love it!

Prior I went to BBV and picked up Ant Bully, Ninjabread or something, Battle of the Bands, and 2 other wii games I couldn't tell you the name, and Crackdown for 360. Traded 4 of the wii games and got $28. Damn clerk charged me 2.50 refurb on Ant Bully without telling me, and also a $1 charge at the end (is that standard, I'm a noooob). He also apologized for some of the dyke store managers that treated me like I was some sort of dick. My words, not his. Anyway, he said my account should be cleared of the notations on it by Friday. So, I'm pretty happy about that. Hope a GS coupon is coming up! Luckily my GF signed up for a trade account to trade in four games during GS' B2G1 free during my credit pinch (after I baited her with allowing her to use some of the credit to buy a full set of the Mario figures :bomb:)

Well, I've never worried about flipping from BB to GS. I've wanted to, but honestly I go nuts whenever they're B1G1 comes around and I'm always dropping at least 150 per sale on random ass games I don't own since they're so cheap (moreso now that I'm using credit). Blockbuster can really be the spot to pick up games on the cheap... until you get games that look like they were rubbed on a brillo pad. Only if they were like Hollywood Video with disc buffer machines (although someone did post one Blockbuster was able to buff a disc for them)

I am a bit afraid to flip excessively. I don't want to loss out on my ability to flip. Apparently, I live in a district of stores, but work near a whole different district. If I kept track of what games went where, I really would be fine probably. I might as well profit as much as I can when I run back and forth.

I got confirmation that starting January 5th is the Trade 3 get $15 bonus deal for Wii, 360 & PS3 @ GS/EB. This means it might be better to hold onto those 360 games as it brings some like Fear Files & Virtua Fighter up to $5 -> $12.70 rather than the $9.80 they get now. GTA 4 360 will be $7.50 -> $14.90 and the Ps3 version will be $7.50 -> $15.90.

I just hope the TIV's dont plummet before then. I also hope that BB does some huge re-stocks on sunday as the entire city has been pretty well picked over.

a lot of the time its just a display box so people wouldnt steal the game especially if the display was set up outside... they always have (at least the times ive bought new games) sealed copies that are kept in drawers away from customers.

Uh, yeah, every Blockbuster I've ever seen has display boxes set up for the new stuff. UNLIKE Gamestop, however, these are duplicates and they keep the real, sealed, games behind the counter. So far from being a stupid move by Blockbuster, this is actually one of the cooler things they do. If only "gut-em" Gamestop would do the same :lol:. I have a Gamecrazy near me that just went to the GS model, except even worse. They take EVERY copy they have and gut it and put it out on the racks. They got rid of the whole behind the counter area that most GC's have where they keep the new games. The store is more wide open with a lot more games displayed, but at a great trade-off IMO. But I guess it was someone's genius idea for a new layout :roll:.

This had only happened to me once in all of my time flipping. It happened to me on Geo Wars Wii, tagged at 9.99 and scanned for that (when it should have been 6.99). That, very well, could have been a mis-tagged barcode on the front itself. If it is printed off as new... rather than used (whether intentionally or accidentally), then that could explain the problem since new Mass Effect still costs 19.99.

BBV has been getting rid of their last gen games at a rapid pace, I would be surprised if you found any tbh. The newer games (ben-10 and animated movie-games) still rake in 24.99 at GS and show relatively low TIVs at the GS 10/20/30% thread.

Yes, especially because I'm really counting on it. I moved a bunch of credit to BBV with stuff like PoP, Far Cry 2, and Endwar in anticipation. It'll suck if I get stuck with an extra few hundred bucks in BBV credit, as it's a lot easier to spend at GS.

I wanted to say that, because Mass Effect was new and used at 19.99 before the drop... so it would be logical, especially if your BBVs are known for lazy employees and didn't take the time to check :)

Well my 80 Wii Sports got canceled. NBD, but that would have been nice.

Also, I ordered 15 copies of L4D and 15 copies of Gears 2 Sunday night at the end of the B1G1 Free sale. During checkout, it gave me a discount of 10 free copies of Gears 2, but it listed it strange on the invoice. Basically, it says:

QTY 15 - Left 4 Dead - $49.49 each - Total: $742.35
QTY 15 - Gears of War 2 - $16.50 each - Total: $247.50

It gave me 15 Gears 2 for the price of 5 (15 - 10 free = 5 total).

I went B&M to return Left 4 Dead, and wound up with 15 copies of Gears 2 for $16.50 each. I've got them on craigslist right now. Just something to consider during the next B2G1 at GS if you guys want to cash out your GS credit.

Oh, I'm careful alright, I always make friends with the employees of the places I go. All the employees of the GS's, BBV's, Local places I go know me by name, they know that I know when to buy and that I am probably making money on the stuff I trade in, but like the manager of the GS I was at today said, "I'm not gonna be upset if you make money on games, that's how I make money." and If I am buying a boatload of games at a clearance sale, I jsut make a comment such as wow with this price, I can give soem to my friends...ect... Sometimes I even say wow, I can sell one of these on Ebay...ect... I just go to the employee that looks the least likely to start getting the clearance stuff to sell themselves.

Just checked my two and only cards and they have what I expect (one still nearly full, the other with $28). I keep forgetting to bring them with me when I go out. I wish I had one when I went to CC and got $60 worth of clearance stuff tonight... But then again, I'm really trying not to use them when there's any chance I might have a return later - and I may end up returning a few of those CC games. I'll probably just end up using them at the grocery store or Target or something to get rid of them and not have to worry about them any more ;).

Went back to BB and picked up Mass Effect (tagged $19.99, scanned $14.99) along with some copies of GTA4 PS3. There were still copies left for both PS3 and 360 (all tagged $29.99).

I need to make one last run to get rid of the last of my BB credit. The other BB that I checked was completely cleaned out. Atleast, I had much better luck at HWV where I was able to get a decent haul using the last of my credit.

GET IT! I've had one for about 3 weeks now, and I love it! Yes, it can connect to any WiFi network, just like any laptop, etc... The resolution on the thing is fantastic (higher than iTouch, etc...), and the browser supports flash websites.

The one downside people will probably mention is some of the extra codecs/plugins that you have to pay for (web browser, x.264 support, etc...). I think I had to pay $20 for the web browser (Opera-powered), but as I mentioned, it's very full featured: it allows for flash, can open multiple windows, etc... and with the high resolution you don't have to do too much scrolling around on a website. Also, the storage is only 4gb, but then again with a SD slot for expansion, more storage space is readily available cheaply!

Let me also throw my hat in the ring for the DVR dock, if your store carries that. I got it for $69.99, but I believe I heard it might drop about $10 or so. The unit is also great: you hook it up to an output from your digital cable/satellite box, then download an electronic program guide on the unit via WiFi. You can schedule recordings for single shows, series, etc.. just like a TiVo. I have also figured out how to 'trick' the unit into recording on-demand shows, so that's another bonus.

So for around $200 total, I've purchased the unit, web browser plugin, and the DVR dock...still less than an 8gb iPod Touch! I find the browser on this unit great, and it's the perfect size for the times when my 12" laptop or even my 10" netbook is a little inappropriate or cumbersome for use (say at work), but when I get tired of scrolling back and forth on pages on my G1.

Samba trades in for $5 at GS as does Dragonball Z 3 Bukkake. Those are not great BBV - GS flips as they are each $14.99 at BBV . I bit the bullet since good B1G1 trades have become rare in my area.

yeah but pair 4 other games with that, and you'd get a 40% boost (assuming you have EDGE); so you would really garner about $35 for it..pretty good flip, esp. if you have a lot of BBV credit to burn!

Most people would probably have to keep it for that price, though. I mean, I'm all about flipping, but I would even hang onto that one for $20! (Although I would, of course, re-sell my 360 copy back to GS for $35 :D)

how do some BBV's get so messed up? mine is near perfect, all the workers know what is going on, keep prices up to date, take in any trades because they know how to sell them, I would say that every worker at my BBV should get nominated for a sales person of the year award.

So I hit up two BBVs I've never been to before while I was searching a far away Circuit City for clearance games. First store had no signs and said they weren't doing the sale, so I just traded my remaining 4 games there and got the money on my value card, bringing its balance to $170ish. I was pretty upset, since a quick glance around this store showed it had a TON of flippables.

Shortly after I went to the second store, and it was just as packed as the first one, and they had the signage for the sale. So I went around and rounded up a huge amount of games and sorted them into piles according to how much they cost. I couldn't carry everything at once, so I went up with just the $9.99 games first (16 in total). First of all, the guy (store manager) looked at me like I was some sort of thief. I everything goes pretty smoothly, and he questions why I'm buying 2 copies each of VF5 and THPG. I reply that I'm going to play online with my brother, and he begrudgingly accepts that and rings me up.

After that, I started to run into some more problems. I put those first games away, and I go back to pick up 10 more games. As I get back into line, the manager raises his voice to ask me why I'm buying all of these games. I respond, "Because they're cheap and I have the credit." He asks me where I got all the credit, and I told him I was just at the other store, but they weren't running the sale. He tells me to wait while he calls the other store. I was kind of far away, so I didn't hear everything, but I know he asked about someone who had just been there to trade in games. I was kind of worried at this point, in case he was going to start getting jr. detective on my account. After he got off the phone he told me they are doign the sale, but the guy who told me otherwise was just on vacation and was uninformed. So I was allowed to bring up the other 10 games and buy them.

Unfortunately, I ended up getting the manager again my second time around. I couldn't really grasp why he was so upset about selling me these games, especially since 24 out of 26 of them were unique, but he was definitely not very happy with me. My remaining 10 games were at 4 different price points, $14.99, $9.99, $6.99, and $4.99. Before he rang anything up, I told him I wanted them rung up in 4 separate groups to get the maximum discount. Since this was a mathematical concept beyond his grasp, he didn't understand what I was asking for. He started ringing them all up together, and I stopped him and told him he was doing it wrong. He told me to explain again, and then he started to break them into four groups. The games were already in the correct 4 groups, but he started making new groups that didn't benefit me at all. I corrected him yet again, and he still argued with me that it would be the same no matter how he rang them up. I then did all the math for him, to show him that the way he did would cost me $70, but my way would cost me $52. Finally, after explaining this to him a second time, he just rang them all up the way I initially asked him to. Unfortunately, it was literally 20 minutes of wasted time trying to explain this to him and finally getting him to ring them up correctly.

So, after quite an ordeal at that store, I'm down to just $20 in BBV credit, so I'm pretty much done with this sale. Now I've just got about 50 games to trade in to Gamestop next week and I'll be set. Wow, what a huge post!

No, because they need to find the discs for them and I think they'd be pretty annoyed if you had them ring up 2, gave them 2 more cases for which to find the discs, then rang those up, then did it again, then did it yet again ;). Not to mention that I assume you'd want to examine disc condition which means you might have to reconfigure your stacks and possibly get replacements. Fortunately for me during this sale, I've had clerks who pretty much knew how to ring things up. But then again, I've never found more than about 6 or 8 games at any given store, so it hasn't been too difficult.

Rave Child - yeah, pretty annoying that they are mad about selling you stuff :roll:. I know that when my old GR store had one of those massive new game clearances they were ecstatic to sell everything they could because apparently they got some sort of bonus based on overall sales for the month they made a TON of money and got huge bonuses.

I learned my lession though in that you never mention "the other store" when doing something at a Blockbuster. I mean, I might do that a bit at my local store where they know me well (I told them they other day that they had a better selection than 3 other stores I went to look for used games at). But if it is a new place, just keep it to yourself. If the store had that much stuff left to sell, though, you'd think the manager would want to move it. The stores around me only have scraps left at this point - and it's been that way for a week at least. I mean, they have lots of GTA IV, and then just bits here and there of other stuff.

Well I handed him one group and kept the rest in my hand, but he asked for all of them so he could take the cases off. I mean, I have to go through that at almost all of the stores around here. Since most games were mistagged, and this was the manager who was already a bit suspicious of me, I didn't want him to realize that I knew all of the correct prices regardless of the tags. That could really have given me problems if he thought I was some dealer or something, or if he ended up checking my account somehow.

I saw it for $14.99 at BBV a couple weeks ago.

So did I it was at the same store, but now there is a 24.99 sticker on teh game...maybe a worker marked it up untill he can buy it. who knows.

Serves me for not doing research. I bought Counter Force or something for Wii and it only got me $2 at GS, the baseline for not getting the +$5. But after spending about $26 at BBV I have around $55 at GS. Now, shall I buy something I actually want at GS or try to some more flipping is the question...

If you're able to flip back and forth, you'll be able to build up much more than $55 at GS. Of course, all this flipping business can be a very time consuming process, so it ultimately leaves you with less time to play all the games you'll now be able to buy. And herein lies the eternal CAG dilemma.

After that, I started to run into some more problems. I put those first games away, and I go back to pick up 10 more games. As I get back into line, the manager raises his voice to ask me why I'm buying all of these games. I respond, "Because they're cheap and I have the credit." He asks me where I got all the credit, and I told him I was just at the other store, but they weren't running the sale. He tells me to wait while he calls the other store. I was kind of far away, so I didn't hear everything, but I know he asked about someone who had just been there to trade in games. I was kind of worried at this point, in case he was going to start getting jr. detective on my account. After he got off the phone he told me they are doign the sale, but the guy who told me otherwise was just on vacation and was uninformed. So I was allowed to bring up the other 10 games and buy them.

Seemed like it. He stopped me until he called the other store. I would think he'd be happy about me clearing out all his games. And if he didn't make a fuss about me taking multiples of VF5 and THPG, I would have taken some multiples of Condemned 2 and Frontlines: Fuel of War. He probably had 7 copies each that I doubt he would sell to anyone but me. Oh well, I'll just try to avoid that store from now on. It's pretty far away, so I'll probably only be going again in another perfect storm situation.

I bought Counter Force too and also Billy the Wizard crap racing. I am using them as baits to cash in my $10 power trade cards since they cant be used with any other promos.

:rofl: First thing I looked for. See, like I've been saying for a while, the franchisee status is shown on the receipt!

I went back to my local store and they actually had MORE GTA IV than the last time I was there. I picked up 2 more PS3 copies along with a FEAR Files and SSX Blur for Wii. That last one was a brand new conversion (sticker date was 12/30). The case looks like a dog chewed on it, but the disc is absolutely mint. Go figure :lol:. I'm just trying to figure out if I have that game already - if not, I may keep it. This is not as easy to figure out as you might think since I have games everywhere...

Otherwise, though, looks like a $6 TIV at GS. I need to figure it out now before I head out to do my last tiered and $5 Wii promo trades...
