I've visited 5 BBVs in my area and traded games in at 3 of them. I'll possibly hit up the 4th store on Monday. Ironically, the only store out of the 5 that I visited that doesn't accept trades is the only one that has a Gamerush attached to it.

Weird. I was not aware that BBV franchisees could operate game rushes as well... unless that was the same store the guy on the other page that stopped taking trades as per DM or corporate request.

I will be keeping UT3 and Dark Sector. Cant decide if I will be keeping either of the wii games as being worthwhile (any comments on these games from the audience?) and on the fence on NHL 2K8 since it was only a filler. I may just go ahead and flip em all.

I went back to my local store. So sad, the B1G1 stuff is down to one small tote now :cry:. STILL, they have 4 copies of GTA IV for 360 :lol: (the rest consists mostly of MLB 2K8 for 360, some other sports games, a few of the $14.99 PS3 titles like Conan and Haze, and some disc-only stuff). By the way, this store has no more than about 30-40 other used games besides the ones in the B1G1 bin (which has about 25 or so now). They have really done a nice job to liquidate their used game stock. There won't be much left for any future B1G1 pending more rental conversions of course.

I did see one new game in there though that I haven't seen mentioned here: Tiger Woods 08 for Wii. The GS thread shows a TIV of $16 for it but it doesn't have a date so that means it was from before September or October (before I started adding dates to them).

Nevertheless I bought it along with Bioshock.

Edit - Screw GS, I just checked eBay and Tiger Woods 08 gets $30-$40 shipped :shock:. Since this one is complete and near mint I'll go that route. Wow... Then the Bioshock is just a bonus trade-in for GS (since I already have it).

For $86.10 out of pocket, all spent at BBV on this B1G1 deal, I've turned it into $175.24 in GS credit, which has gone to the two Wii Fits I'm currently trying to hawk on craigslist, although now I'm tempted to keep going after reading how other people on here have done with the flipping.

When they ask me how the game was I just tell them I never actually played it, as I have way more games than I can play right now (which I totally do). Never had anyone question me past that. I've also said, "Eh, it wasn't for me." Though only for a game I'd played the demo of.

I find it a bit easier to drop them at the desk and let them tabulate while I look around the store.

Well, I decided to go for a drive with Rachael today. I started with $35 BBV credit and ended the day with 4 more games for the collection, an Arcade stick (the Mad Catz one), $85 GS credit and $45 BBV credit.

Of the 3 BBV's I hit, I only found 3 Wii games. Two copies of Avatar (first one) and Speed Racer the Game. All of the stores were pretty ravaged, so I was surprised to have done as well as I did.

Most of my BBVs are all cleaned out of anything good. Partly by me, but not entirely. I've left a lot of good finds behind and gone back to see they've sold. Which is good, I'm glad to see people at least recognize a good sale when they see it... even when its at GR. Because around here, the GRs aren't doing very well.

If I dont hit cartersville tomorrow in a last effort to make the most of the bogo deal, I'm stopping with $726 in GS credit, $93 in BBV credit. But not all the GS credit was from BBV trade ins. I also traded in some of my older GC, GBA, xbox and PS2 games during the trade 5/20% GS bonus. It hurt to part with them even after importing all my Pokemans into Diamond & Pearl, but trading in my Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire games got some pretty decent $$.

I also ended up with the Mad Catz stick today. I saw it at one blockbuster and it still rang up at $40 so I asked one of the GS's around here and sure enough it was only $12.99. I also ended up with the Virtua Fighter 5 Hori Arcade stick for only $20 after coupon and edge. The guy at one of the GS's gave me a few of the free magazine codes which was pretty cool!

GameRush stores
In Summer 2003, Blockbuster started converting select stores in select regions to GameRush stores. These stores sell and buy consumers DVDs, games, gaming systems, and accessories. It is offered as a direct competition to stores such as GameStop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameStop) and Game Crazy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Crazy). Blockbuster used their location status to get instant coverage; it also promotes these stores by hosting video game tournaments, special trade-in offers, and a more "hip" look to the selection and staff. However when Blockbuster introduced "The End of Late Fees" GameRush was put on the chopping block. As of April 2007, GameRush stores are being reduced back to just a games section.

Seems to me like more stores have been converting if anything.

They should have honored the tagged price no matter what the computer says. If they don't you can file for false advertisement. Go back to the store and check if they updated it. I guarantee that they didn't.

that's what I was saying...any time I've seen something priced at one price and brought it up and they said it would be more, I argued that exact point. that it is their fault they didnt switch the price tag and they are false advertising.

Yeah, Sp00ge covered it - just to get you in the system for easier returns if defective. I usually talk them out of that if possible just so I can make as many "off-account" purchases as possible.

Anyway, good to see you back in the game Gwen ;).

I hit up a high-traffic store that is usually not a very good place to get stuff at these sales because it gets a lot of looks and gets picked through pretty quickly. I was expecting nothing but it turned out to be better than the last 4 stores I went to combined. Nothing earth-shattering, mind you, but they had actual real Wii games there! Imagine that! It's too bad I didn't go to this place before GS nerfed that promo. I was so overwhelmed with seeing more Wii games than I could count on one hand that I ended up buying stuff I probably shouldn't have. This is the first time I've seen Cocoto Magic Circus, Jumper, and Octomania since before the sale started so as a result I bought them all. I didn't even make the best use out of it because I paired the $4.99 Jumper with a $6.99 game. Oh well - each of those trades for $2 so it just misses being eligible for the $5 coupon but should still work with the trade 3 deal. Each one would get $5.54 in that case (with a cost of $3.50 in BBV credit) - hardly a great profit margin, but a profit nonetheless. I also got 2 Battle of the Bands (and they had 3!), a 360 Narnia, and a 360 Monster Madness (another $6.99 game to make things pair up).

Unfortunately I shouldn't be doing that sort of thing as I'm down to my lowest total of BBV credit in years - getting close to $100 now. I made one trade today (a 360 PoP) but there's not much else out there to get until another coupon/B2G1 happens at GS.

Earlier I went to a GS and put their computer to the test with the use of 2 coupons and a trade-in promo all on one transaction. I decided to trade Nintendogs and Ninja Gaiden DS with the $5 coupon instead of bothering with the $20 off promo since I didn't have to worry about a return that way. Had I traded those two games on Friday (and I had them with me in the store but they were out of stock of the DS game I wanted at the time :bomb:) I would have gotten $37.60 for the pair minus the $19.99 DS game purchase. With the nerfed promo I would have only gotten $21.60 minus the $19.99 game. With the straight-up $5 coupon I got $27.60, so it was well worth not using the DS game promo deal (better than I thought, actually!). Which just goes to show you how much of a ripoff the changes in the promo are - had I used it I would have actually lost money relative to the weekly coupon.

I also traded 3 360 games to get the $10 bonus. And on top of that used the 10% off coupon to buy a couple of things (including a present for my son's friend's birthday party - gotta love spending this cheap credit to cover stuff like that rather than going to Toys R Us and spending real money!). Anyway, GS'ss computer handled them all beautifully and I got everything I expected (with Edge stacked in all cases as well).

Now I need to decide if I want to use Battle of the Bands/Avatar TBE for the Wii promo or just take the $21 I'd get with the coupon. In this case, I'd get $10 more with the game purchase promo but then either have to keep the game I get or try the return thing... Meh, can't decide ;).

Otherwise I just have several more games to trade-in with the trade 3 deal - but I better make sure by Monday I have multiples of 3 left at this point or I may have to top it off with some $14.99 stuff.

I wouldn't say it's crappy. They had Wall-E playing on it at one BBV before Xmas and it looked pretty good. Certainly better than it would've on the Polaroid portable DVD player I bought a few years ago. You could probably find it cheaper elsewhere, but if you're taking advantage of that GS trade-in deal you can snag one for $30 cash if you find a few flips.

Example, Kroger is my favorite grocery store but I hate that to get most of their sales you have to use your Kroger Plus Card. You fill out the form with name, addy, et cetera and then you get the card. It's not a hassle, and they send you coupons for stuff you're more likely to get based on your purchases.

But I would just prefer they stopped printing the forms, stopped pressing the cards, stopped spending time using targeted marketing and manhours and programs devoted towards setting up accounts and retrieving lost card ID numbers and all that. All that takes $$. Clark Howard did a segment once showing that you, as a consumer, dont save any more over-all at stores who use these store cards, and the companies would do just as well to just keep prices lower and run their weekly specials.

I dont see the need for a grocery store to have to create this huge database of personal information on their customers. Dont get me wrong, I'm not heading towards the hills with a shotgun to discuss conspiracy theories. It just seems to me an exorbitant waste of resources, and for people who use their cards at places where they buy their medications, it seems an intrusion into their privacy.

My simple answer is to use a phonie name and no longer in service phone number when filling out these forms. (My dollie gets more mail than I do, these days, I use her name. :lol:)

I got this a few days before Christmas it was in an ad along with We Were Soldiers, Underworld, The Fifth Element and one other film(I'm not sure when the ad expired though). The employee was as surprised as myself that such a new film was this cheap! However in any case they should honor the price.

So I did some rather stupid and sloppy flipping today. I picked up some used games at gamestop FORGOT to use the 10% off coupon. Then I go to blockbuster get 4 14.99 games 3 9.99 games and 1 6.99 guess which ones I end up paying for all 4 of the 14.99 games obv. Brought it up to the lady and she said thats how the computer rings it up I said what if i had just bought all the 14.99 games and then the 9.99s and 6.99 games in a seperet transction she just said that she wouldn't let me. very lame. Still ended up up like 25 dollars and mass effect but still frustrating to lose like 15 dollars due to being sloppy.

I've only bough mixed price point items twice. The first time was @ my "home" BBV where the girl knows me. I had had the games paired up and, without prompting, she automatically hit "total" (or whatever button) after each pair to get the right amount. The other time, @ a 'foreign' BBV, I just told the guy I needed separate receipts and he rung the two pairs in separate transactions. Granted, it was late and the store was empty. But I dont think I would *knowingly* take the shaft. Either I'd demand separate transactions, or I'd just decline to buy the lower priced items.

Anyway, in perhaps my last run of the B1G1, I snagged a Battle of the Bands to flip and a Flash Focus to keep.

Yep, here's my new technique. I order all the games I want into the price groups. First I hand them a stack of 6.99/9.99's, and tell them I want to see what all of that totals up to, then I'll see if I want any of the other games (from the $14.99 stack).

Well one of my BBV's still doesn't have signage up for the sale, and is way behind on re-stickering a lot of stuff, so I act all surprised when they total the 9.99's up. "Well, it looks like I've got some credit left...I might as well grab these too!":bouncy:

I also make sure to group my games into stacks of 2 and further into groups of $6.99, $9.99 and $14.99

I also make sure to bring up some games to the counter I am not sure of the price and ask them if they can check the prices and make sure the games are eligible for the B1G1 free sale. I further explain to them that at the last BBV store I looked for games at, they had MANY of the game prices stickered incorrectly and the clerk there told you that prices can sometimes drop each week and the stores are not always 100% up to date on putting out the new price stickers.

Finally after I do that, I have my OWN stacks of each price point and ask them to ring them up one stack at a time and then hit the subtotal or total key before they move to the next price point stack. Another surefire way to get the right pricing is have them scan only 2 games at once making sure each one is the same price and then subtotaling or totaling the purchase after each two games to apply the promo after each pair of games.

If they give you resisitance, politely insist they do it that way explaining that the last store you bought some at did not do it that way and you ended up getting cheated by the computer not giving you apples to apples B1G1 free like charging you for all your $14.99 games and giving you all your $6.99 games free. Tell them after all that, the store clerk had to go back and redo everything over for you all over again and it was a royal pain in the butt for everyone involved so that is why they should just listen to you. :D

I finally had some luck with checking back! The 2 closest stores to me have had exactly the same as when I last left, everytime I went back. But last night I went back to another BBV that I had found absolutely nothing at before, and they had a ton of stuff. Most was garbage for keeping or flipping, but I at least found 2 games to pick up.

But in the weeks I've been going, and at all 5 stores I've gone to, I have not found VF5, Orange Box, or Eternal Sonata (even before the price drop). This sale has been great though.

Got an envelope straight from Texas with a handwritten address, and a note inside informing me that "due to a recent review of trade activity, your account was identified as having excessive trade activity ... and trading on this account is suspended as of 1/7/09 and will be suspended until further notice."

I even asked about pairing them up beforehand and she scanned them in pairs, just didn't hit total in between :roll:.

While it is there for the 30-day no receipt returning, there's also a limit to how much you're supposed to buy during the B1G1. I remember someone posted it a few weeks ago (i.e. 3000 posts and possibly an entire thread ago :roll:), but I can't remember exactly what the limits are. I just know one time I was trying to buy 4 copies of :360: GTA IV at the same time, and they asked for my card because I was limited to a certain number (maybe 4) a day. does anyone know why some recycling facilies won't accpet plastic shopping bags? I know where my folks live, you can recycle almost anything at the city facility, including plastic bags, and old oil. But oddly they are very strict about one thing: NO TOPS ALLOWED ON PLASTIC BOTTLES! I was down there one time, and was almost told to leave with my plastic (yes, this is a city recycling facility) because they caught me trying to 'slip in' a few capped bottles.

Mine at home will not take plastic bags, but they don't get nearly as worked up over plastic bottle caps. Go figure!

I wouldn't say it's crappy. They had Wall-E playing on it at one BBV before Xmas and it looked pretty good. Certainly better than it would've on the Polaroid portable DVD player I bought a few years ago. You could probably find it cheaper elsewhere, but if you're taking advantage of that GS trade-in deal you can snag one for $30 cash if you find a few flips.


It may have a nice picture, but everyone I know who has bought Coby electronics has regretted it. They don't seem to be very long-lived. YMMV, of course.

Yeah, I don't really see why they would prevent you from buying things from them, but I did run into trouble with the one store manager when I bought 28 games (18 in one transaction, 10 in the next). This is in reference to the Cocoto/Octomania/Jumper post I made earlier. Sorry, was on my iPhone and couldn't respond too easily earlier. They are $6.99/$6.99/$4.99 at BBV (if you can find them) and trade for $3 each + $5 bonus (not $10 each). Still, $3.50 (assuming B1G1) -> $8.30 is pretty good.

Well, that's only based on the last one being last summer. The thing is, it was a long time before that that we had any sort of sale, so it really isn't a set thing. In all likelihood we'll have another in the Spring some time - but really only if they do a bunch more rental conversions. I mean, really, there isn't much left for them to sell that is over $14.99 at this point. Nearly every store I've gone to has no more than about 10 or 15 games per system above $14.99. Some have way fewer.

Yeah, they'll still have some crap left over from this sale too (like the junky old PS2 games that people still aren't buying even at $4.99 or $6.99 with B1G1, and things like MLB2K8 for 360).

Not a bad pull IMO, especially considering that I really cleared them out with that last B1G1... it was certainly an interesting trip too. I've been looking for a cheap copy of MGS3 for a about a year now, and not minutes after I picked up that copy at BBV(which was discs-only) I found a mint copy at the nearby pawn shop for $4!

I also picked up a copy of SMG since $25 was a real sweet price. For any of you Nintendo club folks, are you allowed to register the same game more than once(provided you have different PINs for each game of course)?

Also, are alot of your local BBV's closing up shop? In the past 3 months, 3 of the 7 local area shops have closed(two are already closed the one that I went to today in Germantown, MD right across from the Gamer Junction is closing in the next couple of days). Granted, there's quite a few in such a small area but it's still pretty surprising.

I had a Sonic Riders I was planning on keeping, but getting $9 + Edge + $5 bonus is pretty tempting.

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes - $12 (12/29)

Here's the last known Trade In Value for Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes at GameStop. That's before any EDGE bonus (+10%) or promotions.

Right now there's not too many promo's going for old gen games right now, if I'm not wrong, so your best bet for any boost on top of that would be to throw the game towards a preorder to an upcoming title (Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5, etc..); that should give you a 20% boost to the base trade in value, plus your EDGE.

As far as having no case/manual, it's a pretty random thing from store to store, whether or not you will get hit with a refurb fee. Do you have a local store you trade at often? If you know one place or another is known to not care so much about case, manual,etc..go there. If they do hit you with a refurb fee, the computer will automatically calculate the amount to deduct based on the trade in value, I believe; for an older game it should be from $1-4.

If you check out this (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209897) thread, it has the most the up to date trade in values available, 9 times out of 10. Use that to cross-reference versus what your Blockbuster has, and you're all set!

As long as you have your receipt, you can exchange your $9.99 games for another $9.99 game or your $14.99 game for another $14.99 game within 30 days. I have done this a couple times even with games purchased at different stores.

If they fight you, and worse comes to worse, then just tell them they are in fact defective OR you think they MIGHT be defective because of some light scratches and since you are buying them as gifts, you don't want your gift recipient to have any problems with them. Then you can get your money back or exchange them at that same store or another. ;)

Well I was 66% sucessful today. Got my emergency replacement Dual Shock 3, paid off my Street Fighter IV Fight Stick, and I've enough credit on the account to pay off the rest of my Street Fighter IV Collectors Edition whenever I choose to. But I may as well have committed flippers seppuku.

I set off with my bag full of games and determination to get me a replacement DS3 (as I broke mine yesterday), enough to pay off my SF IV Stick and CE Order, and hopefully have enough left to cover Killzone 2.

As there are 2 GameStops in the mall I went for, Gamestop #2 (ordered by proximity to the entrance) first. I traded in Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime and Meteos (both cartridge only which came form GS long ago to begin with) and got Brainage 2. The guy there had no idea about the deal, i had to tell him about it be he still didn't seem to get it till he entered the 3 games in and the bump kicked in. I asked about Skate City Heroes but the guy walked over to the shelf looked and said they didn't have any. I was skeptical and scanned the shelves myself. It was there, just not in alphabetical order. So I go to trade 2 of my 4 Wii games (Battle of the Bands and Furu Furu Park) for it, also i memebered that I had a couple Soul Bubbles prepared in my bag so I put that with them along with the coupon for $5 on a wii or DS trade it.

Well I get back up to the counter but I end up getting the CSR that seems to be in a constant bad mood (to make matters worse I think she might be the manager). As I do my trade in I hear her mutter something to the effect of "Didn't you already trade one of these in..." in reference to Soul Bubbles (I grabbed 9 during that gift card deal I've no idea how many I've traded to which Gamestops but this one had 2 copies on the shelf, likey from me :lol:). When the transaction was done she said something like you've got $x.xx. I thought she was talking total trade in so I aske her if the deal and coupon kicked in. She got rather snippy and recounted that the deals did apply and the number she said was what was going back to the card. I bit her good day and left.

Onwards to GameStop #1. I look all over but see no copies whatsoever of Skate City, I couldn't remember the entire list of games so I asked them. They were just about as clueless but told me to pick out something. From what i could remeber of the list, I picked out Skate It. That went through alright. So then I just decided why not, and said i'll just return all the games. He processed the two games from GS #2 just without batting an eye, but when he realized I wanted to return Skate It also (wasn't the best move considering who was working there that day) he was resistant as he knew I just bought it to get the boost. He called the manager and the manager shrugged and said to do it, but when he returns it to hit amount paid in credit or something so that i'd lose the $20 bonus back to my credit. I said never mind that and got the Dualshock 3. Walked out of the store and got 15' before I remembered about paying off the Fightstick. So I went back in and did that.

I'll return the Skate It to another Gamestop as I'll be traveling out of town for part of Thur. Here's the thing, when my two least favoite GS employees (who unfortunatly seem to be the managers) form GS #2 and GS #1 get together and talk about thier problem customer it'll only be a matter of time befor they figure out I flipped between their stores, and am providing them with abundant Soul Bubbles. I'm not partiularly concerend even if they ban my card I'll just used the balance left on it and grab one of those $2 cards from the PDF floating around. Actually this is kinda thrilling now seeing just what I'd need to do to get banned. Oh well my Street Fighter IV is assured now anyway so I'll role with whatever.

Be careful with this. I had two different experiences at two different stores.

The first store allowed me to switch out my copy of NBA Live 08 for another copy of GTA IV, no problems at all. They even allowed me to scan all of the GTA discs for about 5 minutes to see which one looked best. That store was aces. (I went home and saw the reviews for NBA Live sucked compared to 2K8, so I opted out.)

The second store was all fight. I bought two $6.99 games, got home and read the review for Spider Man Friend or Foe. A kiddie game, as we all know now. So I tried taking it back a few days later to exchange it for Forza 2, and got the whole song and dance of "we can only exchange it for the same game, yadda, yadda. Sorry."

So after letting several customers pass in front to buy/rent stuff, I kept up my argument that I didn't burn the disc (true) and that I didn't want a kiddie game (also true).

So the dude takes an attitude like, "Here, just to get you out of my hair, I'll let you trade the game, but the rules are the rules!"

I walked out with Forza 2 to go with my copy of Darkness, all for $7, which is all that matters. :)

Bought a copy of Monster Jam at GS and took it to the BBV down the street to pick up sum PS3 games to keep and i go to the register to check out and i told her i wanted to trade and she said "Oh we don't do trades on Sundays, only Monday-Friday." Made an early run to 3 stores, slim pickings but had to unload a Monster Jam and Quantum Solace.
Last store I went to, which i hate going to due to Jr Detectives, had 4 decent $14.99 games but was told the sale was over. It was by a manager on duty, and if they rung them up and it gave me the discount, I'm sure she would overrode it as a computer error.
I have had problems since the PS2 days and they had a B2G1 free and my wife went to get me Virtua Fighter 4(i think), Medal of Honor something, and damn, can't recall the third game. But the manager at the time gave her a hard time saying the Medal of Honor wasn't 'ready' for sale. I had called and they told me they would have it from a rental. When she got there It had not been converted still and he wasn't sure when he'd get to it.
A call to the DM at the time resolved it. I got my games and a full store credit for what I spent on top of it, $40 or so. I preordered Kingdom Hearts and was happy to pick it up when the dick was on duty and paid it all with store credit. Douche.
I really want to call the DM and ask why this one store ended the sale on the 5th, and all his other stores(i've been to 5 of them) still have the sale.
I guess this store didn't want my $30.

I went to three Blockbusters, one of which had every used game in the 14.99 bin, though some were not that price, SSBB, RE:UC, etc. Another store had nothing. At the last store I got Elebits and Battle of the Bands (Wii), GTAIV and DMC4 (PS3), and Bioshock and Bully (360) for about $43. I traded in Elebits and Battle of the Bands at GS for $10.01 in credit and Skate City Heroes.

Lucky, most of the stores in the Boston MA area ended the sale early. The main BB that I hit up let me pick up 14 games though, since the manager and I get along and I do most of my trading there.

He overrode the computer when it didn't come up as B1G1.

Those are pretty much all new releases. If you haven't even played them yet I'd consider that a bad trade. You probably lost money on the deal.

I actually picked up most of the high priced titles on the list (FIFA, Fallout 3, Saint's Row 2 & Mercenaries 2) used at Gamestop with the Cellfire coupon for $38 each using cheap credit that I got from the Hollywood to GS flip train in the last month or two. Last Remnant was $30 from Amazon and Two Worlds was picked up at the recent Gamecrazy After Xmas sale for $5 so I did profit a little from those two as well.

In a perfect world, I should have picked up the HD at Gamestop with my credit instead of the games in question, but by the time I work through the rest of the games in my backlog, I should be able to pick up all of the said games on the cheap later. Like the rest of the CAG community, my backlog is immense, so I actually appreciate the thinning of the herd so to speak :D

I decided to hit up a BBv I hadn't been to at all since the sale started as it is at the top of a huge hill that would have been a nightmare when we had all the ice and snow. Turns out this is the one and only place I've ever seen Samba De Amigo, so I finally snagged that. I also got Incredible Hulk for PS3 (marked $19.99 so thanks to the CAG who mentioned it had dropped!). I got a few Wii flippables like Alien Syndrome and Battle of the Bands, and a few 360 things like VF 5 and FEAR Files.

I also got a complete and what looked to be near mint MGS Solid Twin Snakes. However, just looking at it now, Disc 2, which is otherwise the more mint disc, seems to have some strange cracks in top layer on the printed side. I'm not sure if these will cause problems or not and I'm not sure I can even test it. I guess I can pop disc 2 in and see if it works but I've never played the game so it will want disc 1 to start up.

They also had Dirt, which I hadn't seen anywhere and Bully to pair it up with but both were borderline in terms of scratches. I wanted to keep Dirt and trade in the Bully but with both being iffy I just passed. That was probably a mistake as I'm sure the Dirt would play fine and the Bully might take a few tries but I'm sure I could find a store that wouldn't refurb me on it.

I was also finally able to find a used Legendary and got that traded in just in time. That plus another $5 off my Value Card paid for all 8 games I got tonight, so that was nice.

Yet another Wii game TIV boost at GS: Avatar TBE is now $6. I did the Skate Heroes thing with that and a Battle of the Bands. Hah - just realized the newbie GS clerk gave me the store copy of the trade slip (along with my own copy). I guess I'll bring that back next time I'm in that part of town, though it won't be for a while - maybe it's best not to at that point so as not to draw attention to myself. D'oh! And she did the same with the other trade/purchase I made too :rofl:. And sweet - apparently I'm only 29 according to the personal info that they pull up with my phone number ;).

Sometimes when I do a trade at my local store I get a description of myself on the receipt. Now that I think about it I remember seeing it when I made a preorder so it probably only comes up then. It says I have black hair and brown eyes when I have brown hair and blue eyes. I wonder who filled in this information for me...

Wow, good to know, thanks! It's just that GS stores have rejected trades from me when there's a miniscule speck of the front label missing (since they figure it indicates damage to the playing surface which is actually not too far below the label).

It just had name, address, date of birth (which was way wrong :lol:), and that I'm male. I know in some areas (I want to say in Florida) they fingerprint you for trade-ins at some stores. It all depends on pawn laws I guess.

Yeah, I understood it was GS. Its just wierd, I never thought of an employee checking me out and inputing a small description of my sex/hair color/ height or any of that stuff besides the information they request from you (Basically your number and address) I guess theres not much you can do about it, especially if you technically arent suppose to know about it. (Is it even burried somewhere in their trade terms?)

This of course, brings me to another unrelated point, but I've always wondered what if you were bald, and lets say you were wearing sun glasses that covered your eye brows, and shaved off all facial hair, what would they input >_>

I don't know if you saw my post a few days back but I listed everything I bought to keep and it was 16 or so games (now 18 or so). And I listed another 15 I would have kept if I didn't already have them (at much higher prices for the most part - oh well).

On that note, I grabbed a Valkyrie Profile 2 just because it was another $6.99 game to go with Alien Syndrome. It seems a shame to trade that in to GS without any sort of promo, so if anyone wants it at cost let me know. It has the original case/cover art but no manual and is lightly scuffed but definitely playable. If not, I guess it is going to GS for the $6.25 last quoted. (Of course, I already have the game - a sealed copy from the last GR clearance sale if I'm not mistaken ;)).

Over 40 50 games for keeping, not including the ones I picked up for friends and family around the holidays. A bunch ended up not at GameStop, but on Goozex as $5/7.50 --> 500-700 point trades, swapped on GameTZ or somewhere else (someone on CL is trading me Star Wars TFU for Mass Effect tomorrow, nice). I actually used the deal at GameStop to get a few games I want (MillionHeir, which I suddenly became interested in after the realization that its first party and includes Club Nintendo points, the same for CrossWorDS, and also My Japanese Coach). I'm going to have to go grab the Hulk tomorrow (and it figures I only had Iron Man and another game price checked). Does anyone know if both versions dropped, or just the PS3 one?

This sale was awesome; despite the BBV banning I'm more than happy with how I did, since I was able to cash out of $270 of my credit at GameStop with a profit of $90 thanks to an abundance of Wii Fits on the first day of the Trade-2-Save-$30 deal...which went right back to BBV to cover more flippables.

Right now, I've got $300 in credit at GS, at least $200 in games to return, about $90 or so in cash left from the Wii Fits, at least another 3 games that need to go to GS/GC/FYE/Goozex/Half, a stack of at least a dozen last-gen games from GS, a couple of PS2 network adapters (one a new-to-used conversion still in its packaging and BRAND NEW), $50 each on a Fightstick and on a RE5 CE, the above mentioned games, at least a dozen games for friends and family, $40 in PSN cards for me, 3200 XBL points for a friend who helped me with a few GS-BBV trades, $25 at Chili's, 6000 Goozex points, a 120 gig HDD, wireless headset for XBL, 360 messenger pad, 360 controller with play-n-charge kit, a few BDs and DVD box sets, a TDK Limited Edition set, about 250 GB/C games, a white PS3 controller, and a bunch of other stuff I'm probably forgetting.

Not bad for just a couple of hundred out of pocket. I just wish that they had some more Wii Fits to get a boost and then cash out with. I'm probably going to return my games and just put the credit straight onto pre-orders to finish off the FightStick and RE5 to appease the management.

you can trade any last gen games for a 20% boost towards a preorder of street fighter 4 and then cancel the preorder at a later date, like when you need the credit. also i hear the games was pretty good if you like rpgs.

I bought DMC4 with Condemned 2 for PS3 for 14.99, then I sold DMC4 on CL for $20. Then, with the $20, I bought another copy of DMC4 with Ridge Racer 7 (lucky find!) at another BBV. Finally, just yesterday I traded DMC4 for a brand new and sealed Socom Confrontation. So basically, I bought 3 games for just under 15 bucks.

Like many, I also got a lot of games from this sale. I think I got about 20 from BBV (which is kind of surprising, given the amount of games I already own), and about 5 (35 if you include the clearance GB/GBC games) from GameStop that were picked up during the B2G1 along with some flippables. I even picked up 3 360 games, even though I don't own one yet! I would have gotten Bully or Mass Effect, too, if I had found complete copies of them.

I was calling around to check up on some TIV's with BBV, and I noticed a new trend -- complications with getting a TIV by phone. I called several locations where they said they would not give it by phone, and then a couple of other locations said the TIV's change daily and the quote was only good for 24 hours. It makes me wonder with all of the drops if they changed their system to something more dynamic for loss prevention.

yes, but cag highly recommends not doing that. if they see you buying that and what not, you could get in trouble or the ban hammer.

Yeah, seems odd that they dropped the PS3 version from $36 to $32 though. Bummer that Bolt dropped, that's one that I hadn't traded any copies of yet.
