Thanks. I got one Blockbuster that has a ridiculous amount of games with out cover art that i'll hit first.
And Ps2 titles for $4.99, is that for coverless PS2 or all PS2(like the infamous Hollywood video sale)?
Just got back from my local Blockbuster and they had quite a number of 360 titles without covers for $9.99.
I didn't read about these until now, I was just trading some games for my preorders and the manager ( a gamer herself) was kind enough to inform me about the deals to be had in that pile. She mentioned Call of Duty, I was expecting maybe Call of Duty 3 for $9.99. It wasn't... it was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Pleasant surprise to say the least since I traded that game a while back and regretted it. Disk itself is in great condition - quite a deal for that price even though it's in that transparent Blockbuster case. Definitely check out your local store, who knows what you'll find.

Linkin - really, no one talks about Gamerush here any more. I really haven't seen anyone discuss GR preorders and the like recently. I think GR stores have devolved into just glorified regular stores so my guess would be no, they aren't getting that.

I have 3 GR by me and they're all "glorified" regular stores. Only difference I see is a slightly larger game section and a kiosk with PS3 demos.

When does the sale start? The 12th? Curious what is offered. On my local news, they had a report on stores to watch in 2009...that is stores that are close to going bankrupt. Blockbuster was on the list...which it seems like it is for the past few years. BUT.....may be time to dump some credit.

As this guy said, the sale is $9.99, $4.99 and $2.99 games. Wii/X360 are $9.99, PS2 is $4.99 and Xbox/GC are $2.99. There are quite a lot of good titles for 360. Ones that come to mind are Halo 3, CoD4, Viking, Condemned 2 and Bioshock. All these games come in the transparent cases w/o cover art. I guess corporate was trying to get rid of some games that are disc only. Don't know what the hell they are doing.

I guess if you ask the employees for cover art, you might get lucky. I know that at my store we keep all the cover art of every game we get so my co worker and I picked out the games we wanted and got some cover art for them. I think I'll be buying quite a lot of games with this sale.

Only the disc only games they received in today's shipment. That's it. Those games should have a section of the store dedicated to just them. It'll probably just be a display or something.

well it looks like we can at least move some credit back to gs... 360 cod4 gets 14 and halo3 gets 12 as of the 6th... wish cod4 for ps3 was that price though..

The coupon is not as good as the trade 3 get $10 unless the base tiv is $13.33 or more. I am going to bet that not many of these games get more than that. Optimize those last remaining BBV credits.

Has anyone pre-ordered and picked up FEAR 2 yet? My store is telling me Friday, even though Best Buy has it right now. Sigh. Now that the trade in program has gone to shit, after I get this and Killzone I can stop going to BBV again.

I know it's been mentioned before but what's a good site for hi res boxart? I like my games to at least "look" complete so if I buy a copy of cod4 I can put it in an empty 360 case I'm sure I have lying around somewhere.
Flipping has gotten confusing to follow recently so I ask: what are the decent flips right now from gs to bb? I'd like to move some credit tomorrow before the sale starts on thurs. I know someone mentioned sega tennis, but what else is there? Thank you.

So no one really seemed to follow up on this. You said your BBV seemed to have the sale already, were these games set up in a special display, or have any kind of different price tags from the normal games? When you checked out, did they ring at this price, or did they have to adjust them?

I was thinking about making a little trip on Thursday, but if it's one of those things where's it gonna be active early, I'd like to be on top of it!

I have been dying for something interesting to play, having finished DiRT and Eternal Sonata from the B1G1. Never been into Halo or COD, but for 10 each, count me in. Just need to find a way to transfer credit from GS, since I have to have traded legendary at just about every store I can think of.

That's gonna be tough to do since BBV has the new diddly-squat TIV's. I think I'm gonna do the opposite...burn whatever BBV credit I have, and use cash if I really need to get something else. I don't see much of a point holding onto it anymore; it has always been hard to use besides the big sales, and now it's harder to build there, so F- it!

You guys are all acting like you've never seen this before. But is this the president's day sale or is that something else? Because we've seen the disc-only games for $9.99 before. There were stores that ran this for long periods of time a few years back and it never seemed worth it to me. You get beat up ex-rental discs. And yeah, they would be priced differently than the same game in the same store complete. I'm not sure how they do it now, but I remember the disc-only ones were in special cases last time I saw them and probably all had the same bar code to scan. If they are really separating it like before, asking to look through the booklet or drawer won't help as those would consist of the regular stock.

Note that even disc-only games already in the store wouldn't count either. Last time it was special stock sent just for the $9.99 sale and it sounds like that is what is happening again.

I give a big "meh" to the whole thing and probably won't even bother going in unless people are finding the newest of the new games there (Fallout and Fable and the like). I mean for the most last last time the stuff they were selling disc-only for $9.99 was stuff you could get cheaper elsewhere anyway.

One can plainly see my CAG joindate is Jan 2008, so one would be correct in assuming that I wasn't paying attention to blockbuster presidents day sales a few years ago. Even if I was paying attention, I wouldn't care enough to remember.

Also, I never said it had to do anything with past President's Day sales. I don't remember them ever doing anything special on President's Day, actually. It was just something that some stores did almost continuously (at least up till several months ago - I swear I saw some like that just last summer actually) and wasn't really advertized as a special sale. That's why I'm not entirely sure this is the "actual" sale because they've done this before not as part of any special sale. But that could be the difference this time I suppose. I might pick up a Halo 3 just to see what all the fuss is about (never played or even seen a Halo played before). I gots no interest in CoD though. I'm still waiting to hear on other titles before getting too excited though.

I'm with ya there. If they would sell games like fable 2 and fallout 3 for 9.99, I would sh!t a brick and they buy up all of them in a 75 mile radius of my home. I still like having BBV credit for overpriced blu rays and those restaurant giftcards, but I could definately understand how many CAGs would be looking for a way to move some unwanted BBV credit to GS. COD4, Halo 3, and that 25% coupon is pretty good for 2/12. If that BBV credit was burning a whole in my pocket, I'd be tempted to unload it.

Off gaming topic, but just got back from BB and they had a bunch of TV season DVDs for $3.99. I picked up Ren and Stimpy The Lost Episodes, Rescue Me s1 and CSI s1 for $3.99 each as well as The Hulk Blu Ray (Ed Norton version) for $17 and Pokemon Channel (GC) for $7.

Holy crap. Just picked up some steals at my BB, which already had it's game sale items out.

Picked up Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, GRID (360), COD 4 (360) and Burnout Paradise (360) all for $9.99 a piece.

There were quite a few others...mostly the ones that would usually be $14.99 (Condemned 2, Viking, etc.). Halo 3, as already mentioned, was also there as well as more copies of COD 4.

For Wii, I also spotted a few copies of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. The rest were mostly crap like Ninja Reflex and Manhunt 2.

Most of the PS2/Xbox/GC games weren't all that great, but I picked up Black and Flatout 2 for Xbox as well as Mario Party 7 for $2.99 each.

The sale is on for those stores that took the time to price them and put them out.

I'm glad flipping has died. I had to read through 20 pages to only see there was hardly any TIV quotes. Updating the third post was a breeze!

I need to check out this sale, especially since so many people are having luck with it being out early. The TV DVDs sound good, and I wouldn't mind going disc only for some good flippables.

I'm not sure I could call it a sale like the B1G1. The one near my office just had 3 bins of the disc only games all stickered 9.99. There were no signs indicating a sale, just the bins. As others mentioned mine had mostly the same titles available at the B1G1 plus a few new ones. I picked up CoD4. The store I went to didn't have Halo.

Add Halo 3 to that list. I should also note that a lot of the more "flippable" titles are the ones that stores only got none, one (or two at the most) copies of. There was a ton of older sports titles at my BB, the standard $9.99 titles like Darkness, PoTC, etc., but only one Halo 3 and GRID (Surprisingly, there were about 3-4 COD 4s)

A second store I went to had not a single Wii game and only CoD4 from those that were good catches.

I think its for select stores only. Thats what one store manager told me. Also, the store by me said its store wide on all used games. case or no case. doesnt matter. no barcode to scan. Auto update in the computer tonight.

Went to 3 different stores on my lunch...1st (and biggest) had no titles out, claimed to have gotten 2 boxes of 360 and 1 box of wii games...he said he might have them out this evening, tomorrow for sure. 2nd BB had a couple dozen Wii games (only notable ones, GH: Aerosmith, No More Heroes). 3rd BB had a couple dozen or so of both Wii and 360, selection was pretty poor. Picked up MX v ATV Untamed for Wii and TD Unlimited for 360.

If I had a 360 or Wii, then I'd definitely be checking out my local BBVs for good deals. Since I don't, this sale really is only good for trying to flip games. However, I don't feel like going through the hassle of finding game art and dealing with refurb fees from GS. I think I'll hold on to my credit until the next B1G1 sales comes along...

No need to bring game art to GS, refurb fee are a pain if the disc isn't flawless.

On the bright side I now trade in all my games to GS without a case so I have extra cases for sales like this.

Sega Superstars Tennis (360): $6.

Didn't see any sale on games there to speak of; and all the no-cover-art games were still tagged (or mistagged, as the case may be) at their normal price. They did have a big selection of $3.99 movies out, though. Some "big" titles: Transformers. Spiderwick Chron., The 1st Chron. of Narnia, Both Fantastic 4 Movies, Independence Day (sinle and 2-disc versions), Robocop (Criterion collection). Hulk (2002), The Illusionist, The Tattooist, some others... Picked up Machined, Ju-on 2, and The Island of Doctor Moreau (1996 version) for myself.

The BBV that sells tons of games had nothing out and had shrunk the game section since my last visit, but the GR by the house had a pair of bins on the opposite side of the store from the games. One had a sign stating $9.99 360 games and included the usual suspects at that price, a few more expensive ones Bioshock (usually 15) and Guitar Hero 3 (?) and some cheaper ones like Virtua Tennis 3 (usually 5) and Golden Compass (5) and a bunch of Dark Sector. They all had 9.99 stickers, even the ones that are usually cheaper. In the older systems bin there were a bunch of xbox and gamecube games all for 2.99. I thought that GS charges refurb fees for missing manuals, cases, etc. Do they only charge refurb fees for scratched discs? If that's the case, then I might check out a couple of stores and see if there's anything worth flipping.

Went to two Blockbusters hoping they would start the sale on the video games early. One didn't have anything and the other had two mini sections open right next to the used video game display so I am thinking thats where they will be putting them tomorrow.

I did however come across the $3.99 DVD section at the second store and I came away with Seinfeld Season 3, Rescue Me Season 1(2 of them) and Sopranos Season 5 all for $4 each!!!

Went to my BB at South Coast Plaza, SoCal. Nothing :(

I talked to the manager though, were buddies. Anyway, he said that stores will recieve the "Package of games" randomly and that there shipped as generic so he can't tell whats in it. (I.e meaning that there are not shipping the games separtely but as a unit.??). He also said not every store will get a package. However, assuming that most flippers buy games at their "home" store,, most home stores should recieve a "Package". Also, he said some store (i.e. his) have not even gotton their games yet, but might have them on Thurs. but definatley on Fridag.

$3.99 for the complete season. The rental cases for each season are shrink wrapped together and priced at $3.99. They also had King of the Hill and another dvd set that I can't remember at the one I went to.

I don't get out of class tomorrow till 630 so I am hoping my Blockbuster stores aren't picked over. Word on the street is somebody picks up all the good stuff the first day Blockbuster has deals.

OK, so I just got back from a couple of Blockbusters.

First of all, the people that bought these things early could have clarified something that I noticed right away that would have put an end to a lot of the questions here:

The receipt says "Wii-Prepack POG w/o Cover Art-Sept 08" for Super Mario Galaxy and
"X360-Prepack POG w/o Cover Art-Sept 08" for Halo 3.

So that right there answered tons of questions people had. The games are specially packaged and thus the same games, even disc-only, that were in the store before will not ring up the same way. I don't know why the Sept 08 is on there unless that's when they pulled all of these which is an indication we maybe won't see anything really new like Fallout 3 and Fable II. It is really too bad they couldn't send these with cover art.

By the way, I was completely shot down on asking for cover art for Halo 3. The guy told me that is why they are so cheap and they aren't allowed to give away the cover art - so very YMMV on that suggestion someone made earlier ;).

Anyway, I guess I can give this Halo 3 game a shot for $9.99. Actually, my local store only got in Wii games so I picked up a Super Mario Galaxy. I'm not really sure why (as of course I already have it) but for $9.99 I couldn't pass up a mint disc. It gets $17 at GS, maybe? It seems almost a shame to trade it there, though, and with my BBV credit running so low I don't want to get into more BBV->GS flipping really. I want to save my BBV credit for a future B1G1 sale. Plus I'd have to find 2 more games and I couldn't find any other decent flipping material. Most of the rest of the Wii stuff was Ninja Reflex, Nights, Sonic Secret Rings, Bee Movie Game, and a bunch of other stuff that was cheaper and complete during the B1G1 sale. (In fact, you can pretty much see why certain titles were marked down more than others during that last B1G1 - they are apparently swimming in some of these games).

I had to drive to a store 8 miles away to get the Halo 3. They were surprised the first store didn't get 360 stuff as they thought all stores were getting it. By the way, neither store had any 4.99 or $2.99 or whatever last-gen stuff. The other 360 stuff was mostly crap - besides the one Halo 3 (and I was the first person to look through their just-unpacked stock), I saw Tenchu, TMNT, Transformers, some old sports stuff, CoD 3 (but no 4), Gears of War, and a bunch of other stuff that was utterly forgettable.

Edit - Originally I had written that the discs seem mint and unplayed. That's the way they appeared when I looked at them in store. But now that I can get a good look at them I'd say they have been played and in fact, have been refurbished. Granted, it is a decent refurb job - better than what GS does. But my Halo 3, for example, seems to have a scratch on the TOP of the disc - ugh, guess I'll try a disc-install on that to verify it works. So anyway, I was a bit more excited about this sale when I thought the discs were brand new looking but that has been tempered somewhat by the reality of it ;). Still, they are in great shape for GS flipping if that's what you want to do with them (YMMV on GS charging refurb fees for no artwork though). I just have a hard time parting with my precious BBV credit on too many of these disc-only refurbed ex-rental games :cry:.

Also - looking back it seems some titles may be harder to find than others. I did not see any Metroid 3 or Mario and Sonic at the Olympics at either of the two stores that had untouched Wii shipments for me to peruse. Also, no CoD 4, Bioshock, Burnout Paradise, or Grid at the one store that had just opened their 360 box.

i just got back from a couple blockbusters myself. and only one had stuff set up.

i can confirm that COD4 is available - i picked up 2 copies. the barcode for that states: "X360-PREPACK POG W/O COVER ART"

i got there right as they were closing so i wasn't able to get a good look at what else they had, but i do remember that they had some dark sector, iron man, devil may cry 4, and gta4. all for 360.

this store also had some old xbox games, but i forgot to check their price. however, i don't think it got any shipments of wii games.

Not a single wii or GC game. I didn't buy either, mainly because the girl at the checkout line was being a bitch. A good one hour before close, I took a BF2 and another game up front... I thought it was halo 3... since a cag mentioned wanting it... and I grabbed the wrong game. I asked her to take that one off because I grabbed the wrong one. She refused, saying I had to buy both, then do a return. I asked why she just couldnt take it off right there... and she said that she had already hit total. I asked her nicely... then I just said "fine, cancel the transaction as a whole and we can re-do it"... she replied "you don't want either" and I told her I just want the one and the other one in the bin, that i meant to grab (again). She voided it, took both games, put them under the desk and said "we're done here." The guy next to her was like "uhmmm have a good night man, sorry about that." I guess I was too relaxed... I should have just been an ass to get my way... and I'm still tempted to call their DM, since she is the 2nd shift manager. I should have gone back over there, grabbed the SECOND copy of BF2 and the game I MEANT to grab... and took it back to her line... just to be a jerk.

Any rate, I'll go to some other ones tomorrow... hopefully find SPM Wii and some collection fillers for my GC.

The Pikmin 2 that I found was the 1st time I encountered a copy at any BBV. I would love to find MP Corruption , SMG , or SSBB. Otherwise, I have to pray that noone picks the last ones at CC before it hits at least 50%.

I stopped by a nearby BBV after work today. I had called ahead a couple hours earlier to confirm they were participating in the President's day sale. I looked around the store first, found no cd only games, and asked up front about it. The employees brought boxes out and showed me their games. They only had 360 and PS2 games. Nothing special, and I'm hoping to find a store with the good Wii games mentioned. I'd really like to play SMG, SSBM, and MP3. Here's to hoping they get more boxes, or more local stores participate.

This "sale" went from "meh" to "yeah" suddenly. According to mapquest, I can go to 15 BBVs in an hour. It will take me a few hours looking through bins of participating stores. If I find one copy of pikmin, metroid prime, and grid, I will be unable to contain my utter and complete satisfaction. If I can find random ass seasons of seinfeld and the sopranos as well, holy shytball$. Those people that said this deal was "meh" might have been mistaken.

Went to my store tonight. Their shipment was about 20 360 games and that was all. Two each of COD4, Halo 3, and Bioshock. Then sports games, Superman, and King Kongs filled out the rest. I got one each of those first 3 games and that was all. Was hoping to find some Wii games but no luck. The 360 games I am just looking to convert to GS credit, I don't want my $$$ stuck to a sinking Blockbuster ship. I actually want the Wii games though.

Don't assume someone beat you to the good stuff. I got first look at 2 stores' inventory and they had NO CoD 4, Burnout, Grid, SSBB, Metroid 3, Mario and Sonic, or many of the other good things people are seeing. And they had just one Halo 3. SMG on the other hand, was plentiful - 1 at one store, 3 at the other.

Sonic - it's still meh... Like I said, if these were really pristine, then, maybe. But they are mostly refurbs I'm afraid. I'll have to test these suckers soon. I mean, I was considering going to another store 8 miles away but then I thought what is there that I'd really want to blow my BBV credit on? Nothing, is the answer... (Granted, if I didn't already have SMG and Metroid I'd be all over those but I bought those, like, years ago ;)). Most of the 360 games I'm willing to wait out for clearance or at least complete copies for $10 or even less.

I have 15 BBV's in a 5 mile radius of my home. I commute to college, where I can hit up endless BBVs on the way to and from class because there are so many BBVs right off I-95. There are 3 BBVs within 1.4 miles of the school iself. I'm also taking into account the random TV DVD season sets people are finding. I still have sealed copies of SMG and SSBB, but I want metroid and GRID. Sorry you have to drive 8 miles and there isn't anything you want to buy with your remaining credit. I'm happy it's a good deal for me and that I moved another $200 worth of credit over to BBV with the recent 25% off gamestop coupons. There are also very very simple ways to exchange scratched discs for mint discs.;)

Many employees have done this for me during the last few B1G1's. I've even gone to different blockbuster's and shown a recept from another store and they switched it for me. Once they even gave me a game manual when they switched a game disc from another store. When they cost 2.99-9.99, many decent employees don't mind.

I wasn't trying to allude to or promote return fraud or anything else that's illegal, immoral, and just not worth the risk and bad karma.

These games are specifically cheap because they have no cover, manual, and I bet 99.9% of them are refurbished. I'm still confident that several BBV employees I know would switch the discs for better looking, rental discs. I wouldn't hold my breath on the cover art, but sometimes they have those cover arts on cheap paper with "not for sale" on them. They are from the empty display cases for games when they're new. Some of the B1G1 games I flipped had these. I have a top of the line copy machine at work to print them out at, so I couldn't give a rats arse about covers anyway. Never had to print one b4, but I'm kind of excited to have an excuse to try it.

I checked my local BBV last night, but there was no sign of anything special yet. Actually there was a table that was marked as being a 50% off Clearance Sale, but when I looked at the prices, nothing was even close to 50% off, so I don't know how they could say that. Later, after I'd left, I wondered if they meant it was 50% off the tagged price, though. If so then there may have been some good deals there. Note that these were all new games. I should have asked about it, but I hadn't thought of that possibility at the time. If it's still there tonight I"m going to ask. They had Super Mario Sluggers sitting there, which I'm interested in, and if it's 50% off the ticketed price, which was already discounted, it would be a pretty good deal.

Anyway there was no indication of any sale on used games yet. I'm going to stop again tonight, as well as at another nearby one, and hope to find the flippable $9.99 titles.

The cashier told me that there was going to be a sale, but that she had no idea when it would start (supposedly all corporate said was that some stuff "would be coming in by the 17th"). I figure I'll call various blockbusters once a day until one of them confirms they have something.

Edit: Yeah, I saw the 50% off clearance signs, but it was for oddball stuff like posters and Dark Knight bobblehead jokers. O_o

My BBV had signs up but nothing was marked down and the cashier didn't have a clue what games it applied to and any other details. I did stumble across a perfect used copy of The World Ends With You for $20 so not a total loss

Maybe it's good that BBV has wisened up on the TTV's. It's a little ridiculous seeing 8 used copies of Oblivion GOTY in my little BBV. One was from me but I refuse to believe there's 7 other CAGs in the area.

No displays up at my local BBV. I asked the dude behind the counter and he said he just hadn't got around to putting it up yet, so he let me root through the shipment boxes, which was pretty nice. He told me they received 30 games apiece for 360, Wii and PS2 (so no PS3, XBox or GC games). I was specifically hunting for Bioshock and COD4, which they didn't receive, but otherwise it was a pretty rounded selection: a few winners (Mario Galaxy, Nights, Guitar Hero III) and a bunch of losers (Manhunt 2, Mario & Sonic, Sega Superstars Tennis).

I have the day off today (love those state holidays!) so I stopped by K-Mart and BB this morning. BB had a rack full of the disc only games. it was mostly crap but I did find SSBB for the Wii. I think most of the employees realize that the majority of the discs are scratched to hell. Even though I wasn't renting anything the lady ringing me up wanted to scan my membership card so the game would show under my account "in case I had any problems". I was plesantly surprised to find that the disc was in mint condition!

I asked if she happened to have an extra case and she said no. The games were all disc only and that she isn't allowed to take trade-ins without the case and box art because they don't want them getting mixed up with the clearance titles.

yes, i believe that is correct. the ones on sale come in "iced out" clear cases, and i think the employees have to apply the sale sticker/barcode after they take them out of the box which they recieve them. i think this is what happens because a bunch of the stickers were hanging off the boxes, meaning they don't really stick that well.

the other games that were already in the store don't get this treatment.

I just called the 5th BB in may area, they got in 29 360 games (no Wii)...he is holding COD4 for me :) hopefully there are some other decent ones

Picked up (2) COD4, Grid and Orange Box. The manager had the employees sway out cover art and manuals with rentals if they had them available (didn't think he could sell them otherwise). So, ended up with 1 complete COD4, 1 with cover art, 1 complete OB and disk only Grid.

ohoh this reminded me when I went to a bbv yesterday they had a sign up on the door about the new store hours. It was great it said "new winter store hours, ask inside for details." Really?! The Blockbuster I went to had little paper advertisements for the President's Day sale but nothing looked to actually be on sale. I don't know if they hadn't gotten them in yet or hadn't put them out, but there was nothing. This was in San Antonio, TX.

I did notice two huge trash bags full of rental cases outside though. I was half-tempted to take some of them to use if I did find disc-only games, but then I thought about digging through BB's trash and the thought didn't appeal to me anymore.

I might check out a different BB tomorrow and see if I can get any good sale games. For those that are trading them to GS, do they give you full TIV for them since they don't have manuals or original artwork?

Managed to grab 2 COD4's and a Mario Galaxy. I hate that they have no artwork because I had to pick up every copy individually to see what each game was (which were all jamed into a small rack on a small table under a small tent! Do other BBs have tents inside or is it just mine?

Mine had a tent with 6 piles stacked high in a tiny box. It was a pain to dig through. I found 2 copies of COD4. Keeping one and giving one to the inlaws. They were actually in good condition which surprised me...

I mean, unless they gimp base TIV, it is amazing-retarded. Like amazingly profitable. I'm burning up the rest of my credit, forget the B1G1 free, I'll use cash for that if I have to. This is a definite money maker.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems most Wii games are getting around $5 TIV. If you buy them at Blockbuster for $10, and then trade them in for 60% extra, you're still not breaking even.

If I could find more than Bukkake to flip for a profit to BBV I'd probably jump on this sale for flipping, however I only have a single copy of the game within my traveling radius, and it doesn't look worth the gamble since I'm clear out of BBV credit.

Instead of buying a blu-ray player, digital picture frame, Archos (w/charger), I probably should have held back a little credit. When the times were good, I was just wasting the credit on gadgets.

I went to my BBV today in Somersworth, NH. I asked about any sale going on, she asked the other lady, they both had no clue about a Presidents Day sale, and had no bins or anything...I went and looked regardless. I noticed clear cases for Fable (xbox), Shadow of the Collossus (ps2) and Yakuza (ps2). all were marked 9.99, i brought them up and they rang up at that price...so I put them back :(

this store participated in the last b1g1, so i was surprised they had no idea about this sale.. oh well.

I'm sure most Gamestops will take disc-only games. However, it's definitely YMMV with regards to what fees they hit you with. Technically, refurb fees should only apply to scratches on a disc, but there are some employees that will dock you for missing manuals, cases, etc...

The rule is 18+ but i know for sure that some stores dont follow it. I recall seing a pretty angry mom come in and have a trade reversed--didnt even know that was possible.

C'MON people! I finally check in today and there's like 6 new pages of stuff since I CLARIFIED the deal last night, including putting the info in the thread title AND THE FIRST PARAGRAPH of the OP. Why is there such confusion!?

Each store may or may not have gotten shipments of disc-only Wii and/or 360 games (as well as perhaps some PS2/Xbox/GC stuff) and the next-gen stuff, at least, is all sold for $9.99. It is YMMV on whether your store got a shipment or not. My local store got Wii but not 360 for example.

And this has been said DOZENS of times but I'll say it again - this is different stock from what they've had in the store all along, so other copies of the same games in the normal used game section will NOT be $9.99 (like the example of Grid in the post above mine).

My local BB got a fuckton.

Saw a LOT of newer 360 games, like Dead Space, Prince Of Persia, etc. and was told that they can't start selling them until Monday (read: until all the employees have a chance to pick what they want to take to GameStop). Bah. I'll have to call my non-gamer friend who runs a BB..

Now this is some new news - looks like your store actually got new new stuff. I may just have to head out tonight...

Picked up Mario&Sonic, Metroid Prime 3, and House of the Dead 2/3 at one Blockbuster. Two of the other Blockbusters had nothing. The last Blockbuster had a box of crappy 360 games not worth mentioning.

Went to my local store... 2 women who were working tonight didn't know of the deal.. (Called last night and some young man did, and said it was starting today) Started looking around.. Saw about 15-20 360 games.. Looked through the stack.. Useless stuff.. Found one Halo 3 though so jumped on that..... Great condition as well.. So dissapointed with the stock decided to give up for the night.. Will check out other stores tomorrow..

Finally found a BBV with some disc onlys, but it was only 360 games. Picked up Cod4 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for $10 each.

So is this for all stores? I went to the 3 that I have around me in VA and they didn't know what was going on.

One guy even said I wish corporate would do something like that for us....

I really wish it was around here I would love to grab Grid on the cheap

I saw that also, I went there today but the ones I checked(old ones) weren't even $2 off I think the 70% kicks in on monday. The COD 4 I found was $33 and it was on the table

I think alot of them are refurbs. Most of the ones i purchased look like they have been buffed.

Nope - not until it gets confirmed. Remember this was just someone hearing they had those from a BBV employee. If a CAG actually gets one of those titles with the "Prepack..." receipt listing then I'll add them ;).

And h2dk - mint or near mint, they have probably been refurbed. I'm almost positive the two I picked up yesterday were refurbs even though they looked near mint upon first glance. I think they are just good refurb jobs unlike what GS does.

I just called 2 stores and despite some confusion they may or may not have these in - I'm gonna go look. I think the first store may be a bust because she told me they have a $9.99 and a $19.99 bin. Never heard of this $19.99 business. I tried to be clear about the disc-only games in clear cases and she said they were - so we'll see...
