I picked up GTA 4 (360) and found a copy of Jedi Outcast (GC). Not bad for $15 and some change.

There really isn't anything going on at GS right now to take advantage of that PoP Tiv though, is there? No 20/25% off coupon, and no B2G1 until after xmas.

Guess we have to hope that the TIV holds.

I'm guessing these are the trade in values at Gamerush? If so, thats pretty nice. You could grab 3 copies at the B2G1 for around $70, and flip 'em for around $105/$108. (depending on which version)

Considering the B1G1 at Blockbuster, even a 1:1 trade from Gamestop is good. It is a very odd time right now where you can double your money/credit flipping games from BB-->Gs.
$31 for PoP--> $36 at BB. Buy 6 games with that and bring back to GS for $60 or more depending what you get.
I think a lot of people have more Gs credit right now than BB. Having spent the BB credit on gift cards, VV's and now actual GAMES!

Even with the 30% off it's only roughly $30 to $35 (that considers a 6.5% tax rate on the GS purchase). Not really worth it IMHO, but would become profitable with a B2G1 (roughly $67 to $105).

LOL! I just now received a promotional email from Blockbuster advertising the B1G1 free sale "starting December 23rd". Hahahahahaha! It even specifically metions GTA IV. Kinda funny.... I wonder if it really was supposes to orginally start the 23rd.

Just FYI, the email I got promoting the B1G1 had a link to the terms and conditions, so here's the fine print on the sale. I don't think there's anything in the computer systems to actually enforce these rules, but here they are just fyi:

Terms And Conditions

Yeah, and also keep in mind that *new* copies of Legendary (PS3/360) at Gamestop are only $30 -> $36/$35 and you don't have to worry about stickers or disc condition (and seem to be more readily available). Also, Monster Jam 360 new $14.99 -> $22. That's what I've been doing, and yes its not great, but just to get some BBV credit to use for B1G1 games to flip back to GS, it works without hassle.

Well, it actually says "up to 5", not at least 5. It also doesn't say 'per store', so technically speaking, I guess it means 5 of the same title per account. There's no way any store is going to know how many copies of a certain game you already bought at a different store though, unless they're really out to get you and call around.

Didn't notice this before, but it looks like Far Cry 2, Mercenaries 2 and Endwar all dropped to $34.99 used at Gamestop. I hope the Ubisoft games aren't just a temporary promotion. Also saw NPPl Championship Paintball 2009 (360) dropped to $34.99 - I have no idea how long it's been out, but it just looks like one of "those" games, you know.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but this is its own separate issue, so I wrote a separate post. I'm looking for advice from those who've been banned in various ways in the past.

Let me paint a picture for you.... I have three stores I frequent. Two right in my city that I go to rather frequently and one up the highway about 10-15 minutes that I go to when I need to spread trades around or to buy up more B1G1 stuff. The two here in my city have always been great and for the most part, think I'm one of their best customers. The one up the highway however, tends to give my discs more scrutiny, have turned me down for condition a few times, and once or twice for 'not for resale' labels (like a bundled GH game w/ no barcode). At one point, I inferred that the manager had put a note on my account saying to make sure to check the condition of games I was trading in (she's a real stickler).

So yesterday, I head out to make my rounds and I figure I'll head up the highway to the slightly further store first, leaving my more conveniently-located stores for later... just to kinda get the driving out of the way. There's a gamestop right nearby, so I buy new copies of Legendary and Monster Jam, open them, and take them in to this BBV. Upon bringing up my account, the cashier notices something on the screen, calls the manager over (the stickler), and the manager informs me that there is a note on my account that my trade account has been put on hold. They weren't real up front with me, said that "some other manager" did it, and all they really said was that "there was a problem with your trades" or something really vague like that. In other words, they didn't just come out and tell me that I was banned for trading the same game to different BBVs around the area, which would obviously be my first guess as to why I was suspended. Anyway, all they really tell me is that they can't take my trades and that I need to call the DM.

Well, rather than call (its just a voicemail line anyway), I decide to head back into my town and try trading at one of my two local stores to see what happens. To my surprise, the clerk processed the trades without batting an eye (and then of course I bought like 8 B1G1 games). Flipped those to GS, bought another Legendary and Monster Jam, then went to the other local BBV, right near my house. Once again, they processed the trade without any issue. (again, bought more B1G1 games)

So, my question is... is it possible that the note is only visible at that one particular store when they bring up my account? Or could it be that the employees at my two local stores just didn't notice the note? Those of you who work at BBV: what do the notes on an account look like?... are they prominently displayed?... does it blink?... etc.

I will probably eventually call the DM, but if its only going to be an issue at that one store, I'd rather squeeze in as much trading as I can during the B1G1 before calling any extra attention to my account. There isn't much around me in terms of used flippables at GS, so I'm probably going to be trying to trade new copies of Legendary, Oblivion GOTY, and Monster Jam around the area and I'd rather not raise extra attention to duplicates at different stores when I'm actively trading in even more.

Any info / help / suggestions are much appreciated.

the note is most likely only placed at that particular store. probably by a manager that has something against you or trades in general. i believe the note is very visible on the screen so i highly doubt the other stores overlooked it. i suggest avoiding that store and continue trading at the others. once that store forgets about you, you won't have to worry about any jr. detective activity.

Missing the note is like passing by a parked Ferrari and not noticing it at all. The note is a bright yellow color that flashes constantly. Probably the most annoying thing ever. The only thing it's missing is a little beep sound in between flashes.

You're probably only flagged at that particular BBV because the manager is strict.

OK, thanks for the info. The strange thing is that the store manager is the one I was talking to, but she claimed that another manager must have put the note on my account and they seemed to suggest another manager at another store.... seems odd. Although, I certainly wouldn't put lying past this woman.

Speaking of bans. What does Corp ban people for again. Is it a dollar amount because i thought corp could not see the dollar amount only the number of games you trade in and to what stores. Has anyone been banned by corp lately?

I got banned too on 1 of my local stores since last month, but I've been trading at 9 different BB's over 3 district with no problem. It's a store specific banned.

I suggest that you just stop trading at that BB, unless you really need to trade at that particular BB. Calling the DM might lead to jr detective type of investigation and make you perma-banned for trading multiple copies at the same district.

By the way, the reason I'm banned at my store is because I ONLY trade HIGH VALUE GAME according to the manager. What a stupid reason, but I don't want to argue since I have 3 BB within 5 mile radius of that store.

Well, the trade ban at that one store must have been done a week or two ago because I haven't been there in a while. But yes, when I started I only had $20 BBV and $0 GS. I had to spend about $11 out of pocket during the day, but ended up with $120 GS credit, and plan to do more here in a bit. (at other, further away stores)

I do hope that it really is at the one store.... my biggest concern is that since I'm flipping new games from GS, I might end up stuck with a couple games after opening them. A minty fresh copy of Legendary is the last thing I want to keep.

so did they issue you a new card with "your" name on it? Please tell me you dont have to use your moms card every time. Looks like i hit the limit too. How i dont know because i really dont abuse the system. But i have been trading a while.

Honestly, BBV credit become far more valuable during the B1G1 (especially now that there are VVs) -- I'm doing trades that are netting me as little as 20% (well, a little more, considering that GS doesn't charge tax on credit purchases and BBV gives tax on trades at my stores) just to get more funds for the BOGO so that when a good flip does hit, I'll be sitting on a nice stack of GS credit -- which will be worth 8% more than a corresponding VV since they don't charge tax with credit

so prey on 360 is only worth $1 at GS (base), GTA 4 PS3 is $15.40 after all bonus' and Frontlines Fuel of War (360) is $8.40 after bonus. I asked about Paper Mario-1000 year door and Super Smash Bro. Brawl both on Gamecube are worth either $5.50 or $6.75. Sorry but I just don't remember which value goes to which game!

All of my stores are raped of good games to actually play, well that I want to play... I'm not looking to flip for the time being so if anyone is and is local try the Fort Wright Blockbuster they have literally a metric ass ton of used games. Erlanger store has a few and Florence Turfway store sucks. Well yesterday they did, I didn't know GTA4 had dropped so they probably have some of those left...

I picked all these up for $50 credit/cash for myself:

DS
Advance Wars : Days of Ruin 15
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword 15
Contra 4 10
Super Mario 64 15

Crackdown 360 10
Dark Sector 360 10
Blue Dragon 360 10 (prolly gonna give it away i'll never get around to playing it)

Grand Theft Auto 4 PS3 15 for a friend.

All complete except 2 of the DS games are in rental cases, i'll just swap those into soul bubbles cases.

Infinite Undiscovery 28.50
Bladestorm PS3 30.00 (so its not a bad idea for the b2g1)

Values have held for these for quite a while, found em while cleaning out my car...blah.

Every BB I've been to is still loaded with good flips :) oh and found a wii sports as well (at BB). Found 5 at a GS today all of which have sold already and about to get shipped tomorrow if I can do anything with all this snow...at least it gives me a chance to play a copy of GTA that I'm going to flip.

Just made another trip to the local BBV; once again, CSR was super-nice and helpful (WTF is going on here??:) She price-checked the GTA IV's for me, and made sure to price check every game before she actually rang it up to make sure the $14.99's were together, $9.99's together, etc...

Wii:
Spiderman FOF $9.99
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity $14.99
Sega Superstars Tennis $9.99
Sonic and the Secret Rings $9.99
Bee Movie $9.99
THPG $9.99
Avatar: Burning Earth $9.99
Spyro: Eternal Night $9.99
Nights $9.99
Spiderwick Chronicles $9.99
Metal Slug Anthology $9.99
Geometry Wars: Galaxies $6.99

360:
GTA IV x2 $14.99
VF 5 $9.99
Spiderwick $9.99

PS3:
GTA IV x2 $14.99

PS2:
Sonic Riders: ZG $9.99

20 games total for $124.09...not too shabby! I'm finally down to a measly $7.xx in BBV credit; I think I might run my PoP from the last B2G1 over after work to maybe grab a few more Wii titles. Cashier didn't bat an eye about the 2x GTA IV's (both systems); didn't have the guts (nor the time) to grab the other 8 or so they had for each system, though...

You know, I have to say that BB employees have become much better trained between the perfect storm and now. Last summer, it was infuriating; I could rarely finish a transaction in under 30 mins, and you never knew when an employee would make up a new statute for the trade agreement or their sales. Now, with only a few exceptions, they have been knowledgeable and helpful (and not grouching at all about the multiples I've been buying).

I went to a store this morning which used to have uniformly moronic employees, which had kept me away for months. The clerk was amazing. He doubled them up, checked the discs carefully, and even offered to help me hunt down an instruction manual for Bully Wii.

At least that part is better than the storm!

There werent many games at all, but a good amount of GTA4 for both systems. I left them as Im not a piece of shit hoarder. Did any other CAGs pop in the Salem (MA) store this lunchtime? There was a youngish guy right after me walked straight to the B1G1 display and had 4 games in his hands as I was leaving.

Selection of games seemed pretty crap, but I felt obliged to pick up GTA4 and Sega Superstar Tennis for the 360, and a couple of Wii games for my niece (Super Swing Golf: Season 2 & Battle of the Bands).

You're lucky they don't have the same arrangements as 3-4 years ago, when (around my area at least) the "staff" was divided into regular BB and Gamerush employees, and only the GR employees were able to do trades, so you always had to call the store beforhand....:bomb:

It kinda sucks up here as the lady at the Salem store said that only the store in Lynn accepts trades. So I had to take Infinite Undiscovery and Bladestorm to the Lynn store.

I tell her BBV is a piece of sh*t company and bring up how most of the stores in the area are closing. She gets pissed and just keeps repeating the same BS. Well, I guess I really am only banned at that one store I mentioned... traded Legendary, Oblivion GOTY, and Monster Jam to another store further away without an issue. Then bought a crapload of B1G1 games from them. Current standings: $0 BBV, $228 GS. Aside from my time and gas, my cash investment was about $30-$40; not too shabby. Might do some more if I go out to see my folks tomorrow.

Awesome, do you know if the Vinnin Square store has many decent 360 games? I was hoping to find Blue Dragon and COD3. There was a pretty big BBV on Dodge Street in North Beverley, but it doesn't show up on the store locator on their website for some reason.

Shutdown at BBV hard.

This is my first time buying from BBV. The XBOX360 section is almost empty someone cleaned it out. On my way to leave I found that they dumped all titles under $20 in a tub.

I rummaged through the whole tub and found Dark Sector and Amored Core 4 for the b1g1. The lady could not find AC4, apparently they do not store any used titles in alphabetical order.

She had to go through the entire inventory 1 by 1 TWO times. I appreciated that but still couldn't find it. Is this how all BBV are run and should I be prepared for this tomorrow?

All I want is GTA 4 and Orange Box.

Interesting note: 1 GS I went to had B2G1 free signs ALL over the place. I went to 4 today, and none of the others had anything??? Not a new store or anything, they are always in line with promotions around here, so I'm not sure what that was about. I didn't buy anything to see what the system did, as they have NOTHING at that store to flip. Manager said it would last until Xmas though!!!

Anyway, a few small additions of purchase = TIV, but remember that I live in KC and occasionally still have wacky values!

Game = BB price --> GS Base

Viva Pinata (360) = 10 --> 6
Narnia: Prince Caspian (360) = 10 --> 6 (not great, but EVERYWHERE)
Nicktoons Attack of the Toybots (DS) = 7 --> 5 (GOOD HERE, hard to find)
Dark Sector (360) = 10 --> 2.50 (ouch... this one sucked)
Castlevania Dracula X (PSP) = 10 --> 6
Jeanne D'Arc (PSP) = 10 --> 6

Everything else had been reported and my values were within $.50 of the listed values.

Have fun!

Haven't seen either at the Lynn or Salem store, back in Ann Arbor there are tons of COD3 and atleast 1 Blue Dragon per store...which leads me to...

Neogaf does a Secret Santa thing and it always works well, and with the b1g1 going on and the fact that some areas are full of some games and lacking in others I think it could be fun. Could add requirements, game must be from BB clearance valued between 9.99-14.99, people could request a system (that they have) or even a couple of games they are looking for. Just an idea, but this is the time for giving and if nothing else it would increase your trader rating :)

Only problem with that plan is where would you go to do your flipping. Im sure most stores will be made aware that im banned. It would be easy to just be added on to a friends account but no where to go to flip.

So anyone know what (if any) "formula" Gamestop uses to "calculate" the refurb fees? I feel it would be a pretty good ise for CAGs to know their potential losses with so many titles with only marginal profits, not to mention the likleyhood of ending up with converted rentals to flip (though the fees are less of an issue when the $10 for 2 is in effect.)

Do GS emplyees just make them up? Are they done by computer? The only thing I feel certain about is that they're somewhat relative to the TIV.....

The ones trading are trading it to GameStop with their 30% bonus if you trade 5 or more games. 360 version has a base of $10, PS3 with a base of $11, so with bonuses it's $14 and change for 360, $15 and change for PS3. Basically if you buy the 360 and PS3 version of GTA, you turn $15 BBV -> ~$30 GS

First, after seeing Ace Combat 6 listed with a TIV of 8 I hoped it's used cost was 14.99, I got a price check today and it was 24.99 so no go on B1G1.

Second, I saw 360 Virtua Tennis 3 priced at 4.99! That's a great game for 4.99 that's not in the 9.99 and under list, let alone 2.50 with the B1G1 and even if it's GS TIV has dropped pretty low it can't be lower than 2.50, right?

:360: Dark Sector $10
:wii: Manhunt 2 $10
:wii: Sega Superstars Tennis $10
:wii: Tonk Hawk's Down Hill Jam $10 (though now I see it was reall Proving Ground I should have gotten)

Really only wanted Dark Sector to keep, but I'll also play around with SST. Manhunt and TH though were purely for potential flippage. Really though, a lot of the games that are potential flippers (e.g. the Wii games) are all games that were flippable back during GS's last 2 for $10 extra. Thus, my stores are pretty bare.

As a side note, I just decided to use one of my BB Online coupons to rent PoP rather than await a price drop. Just have to hurry up and finish Zak & Wiki tonite/tomorrow.

Did someone mention Crackdown?

Apparently I somehow earned a corporate-wide ban! I'm trying to figure out the how and why -- especially since I just had two store managers UN-ban me (and haven't gotten a chance to trade there yet). So all my previous "safe houses" are now "hostile" and vice versa. And I haven't done any duplicates trading at one location and spread everything from store to store...so, curiouser and curiouser. I'm waiting for one of the DMs to get back to me, but I might just start using cash for B1G1 stuff -- GS is giving decent enough that its worthwhile. I guess I'll just buy up GTAIVs and trade them to FYEs until I'm banned from there, too, to pay for it. *shrug*

I did see older DDRs for PS2 for $9.99 and Mario Party 7 for $14.99...but I had no credit =(

Not that I'm complaining...I played the game and I knew the risks involved. Time to get the gf and my friends to bring my games in for me. ;)

I know...it could have to do with the "market" you are in. Maybe there is a lot of activity form various flippers so they are cracking down in some districts. I think I may be the only "flipper" in my area (at my main store for sure). The manager has known for the last couple of years what I do (at the time I told her I didn't expect it to last this long). She doesn't have a problem with it at all and is glad that I stock the inventory there with newer games.

She doesn't have a problem with it at all and is glad that I stock the inventory there with newer games.

its a good thing that i always flip in DIFFERENT districts...and i made sure of this cuz there's a BIG sign that displays the DM and Manager's names and #s and each place i went to had a different one 8-)

damn jerks took my idea about selling them on half.com...oh well...i have now sold a total of 14 GTA IV's on half.com...so im spent :-D spent having to get so many of course...

I just went to half.com lol its pretty easy to guess which are CAG resellers :)

I'm gonna stick to flipping to GS, better ratio with Wii Sports and the PS2 Network Adapters.

Hit up a bunch of Blockbusters in the Irvine/Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area after work.

Crackdown $9.99
Viva Pinata $9.99 (Free)

GTA4 $14.99
GRAW $9.99 (Free)

GTA4 $14.99
Splinter Cell: DA $9.99 (Free)

The Blockbuster in Irvine by UCI had a lot more GTA4s left. The Blockbuster on Bison and MacArthur had them as well, but the guy at the counter seemed clueless. I asked him for a price check, he rang it up and it showed $14.99, but I guess he wasn't happy with that and manually punched it in as $44.99 (what it said on the sticker). Bastard.

Blockbuster in Costa Mesa on Bristol had two copies of GTA4 on the shelf, but inventory only showed 1.

It seems like none of the Blockbuster people have a clue about GTA IV. I went to 4 BBs today. 3 of them still had GTA IV marked at least $24.99 if not more and I had to ask all of them to price check it for me. Anyway, at least mine let me have them all for $14.99 and didn't go by the sticker. I think I purchased 8 GTA IV s today, with 4 being PS3. I could have had at least 16 copies if I felt like spending the money for them.

EDIT: Oh yeah, one of the BB guys was surprised that GTA IV was $15. After I left, I saw him immediately go over to the Used games, I think he was going to buy the GTA copies that I had left there.

I'm tempted to go back to the one I mentioned. The guy probably didn't change the price in the system, right? The copies that were for sale were still in the crazy plastic casing so they looked completely brand new.

I would certainly put a complete, good condition copy of Pikmin 2 on ebay. But a scratched up, disc-only rental is about the same return at Gamestop with the promo, and no hassle.

As to the previous discussion about refurb fees and where they come from, I have been told two times by different GS employees that the computer automaticly calculates the refurb fees, and all they do is indicate that the game is damaged. I don't know how it's calculated, because I've had expensive games get a $1 fee, and I'm hearing about people trading relatively cheap stuff and getting $3 fees.

For refurb fees on hardware, it's always been 50% of the base trade value for me. I picked up some broken DS Lites at garage sales over the summer, and was getting $50 each for them from GS during the bonus $20 promo. Which was $60 base, minus $30 refurb fee, plus $20 bonus trade.

Decided to make a quick run to my local BBV that I somewhat dislike to go to, not only did it not have any GTA, it didnt have any used games under 15 at all. They were all already laid out at a table, I browsed through the racks and only some PS2 titles and GC were left. About 10 titles of current gen titles left, found Orange Box but nothing else. Going to check out my other BBV tommorow, hopefully finding better luck

Picked up GRAW for my 360 and Arc the Lad: End of Darkness for my gf, thinking it was an rpg.

Well.. after driving around to further away BBV, GS, and HWV I've determined that I'm better off sticking near home. I got penalized on refurb charges on the HWV trades, and their BBV didn't add tax to the trade in.

Oh well I did get a Hori Arcade stick and now have $72 at GS and $92 at BBV. I should be able to get to a self sustaining flip level between the two of them. My VV's are reaching thier end though so it looks like I'll have to start actually spending my own money again.

Anyone know exactly how this extra Wii $5 Wii deal is supposed to work? Could it possible stack with the 30% trade in offer? That'll make the difference between me haveing to find 1 more game to complete a set of 5, or 3 more to complete a set of 5 non-Wii games + 2 Wii games.

Thanks to whoever posted the FYE update. Well, actually I wish you didn't because my plan was to go there. Oh well, I'd rather dump all of my gta's off asap but it looks like this trade in venture will take longer than I'd hoped. Gonna hit up hollywood and maybe some BB's. I'm torn right now because half of me just wants to trade in the gta's with no bonus and the use the rest of my BB credit to stock up on massive amounts of wii games and then the other half of me wants to find fifteen or so games to pair up with the copies of gta I have...decisions, decisions.

I'm assuming that was a reply to me? Ill have to find 3 (probably 4) more games before I take my next batch in for trade. Unfortunately the BBV seems to be picked clean of anything decent by now. Finding 4 profitable games will be challenging.

I was once again turned down with trying to trade 2 of the same games at once at Gamestop.

Seriously?

Why is this in the BBV thread? Why don't you understand these three important points?

1. Those HWV copies are more often than not in completely unplayable/not collectible condition with scratched discs and generic cases with no manual or artwork.

2. Gamestop was giving 30% extra for the past month or so that HWV flippers were using.

3. Pikmin 2 is being re-released on Wii next year so its value is guaranteed not to hold and it's guaranteed not to be difficult to find for much longer.

Made a late night run to BBV specifically to check on GTA:IV. They had probably 12 copies for PS3, and a ton for the 360. All the PS3 copies wer still marked 29.99. Took 2 copies to the clerk and asked if he could scan them. They scanned $14.99!! I told him I wanted both and then he told me about the BOGO and that I would get both copies for $15! I acted surprised because that's what the guy wanted; I guess he never realized that I knew WAY more about his stuff than he did. Both copies had the orginal case and manual and the discs were like new. Picked up 1 for me and one for a co-worker.

As I walked out the door I heard him tell an associate "Go pull all the PS3 copies of GTA4 off the rack, would ya?". I don't know if they were destined for the sale bin or his bag, but I got mine.

I picked up a pretty nice haul today (All games complete and disks in mint condition):

Skate (PS3) - $15
Jericho (PS3) - Free (was $15)
Turok (PS3) - $15
Okami (PS2) - Free (was $15)
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (PS2) - $10
Mercenaries (PS2) - Free (was $10)

After using the $10 giftcard that I won at my work's Christmas party, I got all of this for $30 :) I saw a large number of GTA4 for both PS3 and XBox360, but passed because I already have it and the price is dropping so quickly on the game, it would be hard to flip anyways.

At work with nothing to do, so I just made a run to to BB's. UGH. These stores are worse than I remember from last B1G1. Majority are disc only or disc manual. Nothing good at either Neptune or Oakhurst(i think) I can only imagine the new store manager at one location is a lurker here, because there was nothing good. Even stuff over $14.99 that was good has disappeared. Hmmm Employee discount is going on right now for BB clerks? Or did they pull good used stuff trying to sell off the new stuff that is on clearance.
I guess if the SD post is true that would explain not finding stuff over $14.99. Probably has been pulled by knowledgeable employees. I know they are a rare breed at BB.

I always proof read my posts before submitting, often skipping posting if I realize it has nothing to do with BLOCKBUSTER. So before you ask about Network Adapters, Wii Sports, those "wireless" controllers ;) or other EBAY items from GAMESTOP, please post it in the appropriate thread., NOT THIS ONE!

I THINK THE SKY IS FALLING!!!
They are getting rid of junk games under $14.99 with the B1G1.
Clearance out new games.
Now rumored to be selling of the better used stuff at half off.
New company plan starting in January. 99 cent rentals of old movies and who knows what else.

Could they just get out of the used game 'game'? Besides converted rentals, they only have stuff we trade in. Has anyone seen a non CAG trade games into a Blockbuster? Or a non CAG buy used games during non B1G1 times?
Wouldn't they just be better off clearing up the shelf space and shipping the converted rentals/used games to Gamestop themselves instead for a fair price instead of us doing it?

A couple stores round me get a decent amount of trades from others of non-CAG titles, but yeah, most places I seem to be the main contributor beside rental conversions.

I did a count at one, and probably half of one store's Wii selection were my trade-ins (Alone in the Dark, Bug Island, Cranium, Bust a Move, Spyro, Sea Monsters, Victorious Boxing, etc.) that have languished there. I almost feel guilty. Almost. I still see my old copies of Fantastic Four and tear up. Good times. Good times. :)

Others have answered but just to be clear - no, it will not stack. In fact, it could hose up your trade if you try to combine the two. I'd stick with just Wii games or just 5 other games to be safe.

Pretty sure they'll have you find another game thats the same value was what you're returning. But I don't recall them accepting returns on games you dont care for; only if it doesn't work properly.

I was able to return/repurchase a game I bought a few weeks ago for $9.99 to get it for half off yesterday when one of the old GR guys was working at my local store. Today I tried to do the same with another game and the manager shot me down - no big deal, it was worth trying. And I wasn't even trying to "return" - just get a price adjustment, basically.

This was posted a few days ago. First of all, the "30-40%" off new games thing has been happening for some time. Yeah, sure, it isn't ALL NEW STOCK at this point but it is most of the new games they sell. I could see them tossing the latest things in there at 30% on the 22nd and it wouldn't be a huge deal (things like Fallout 3, Fable II, etc). They are due to move over to "clearance" soon anyway - that's just sticking with their regularly occuring price drops.

As for the 50% off all used games, I don't see that happening with the B1G1 also running, unless one replaces the other. Still, that is an odd promo - I'll believe it when I see it.

It would make way more sense to extend the B1G1 to all prices - that would net them more money in the long run (as people would shell out for the $45 type games to get two of them more, I think, than just paying 50% - it's all in the psychology of it).

So anybody feeling clairvoyant enough to think that gta might drop at Gamestop? I have a sense of dread for some reason and am worried about what to do.

Sorry, missed this one. It could drop a dollar or two. They sell them used for $29.99/$34.99 so the TIV of $10/$11 is already pretty low. The PS3 version isn't even available online so I don't think they are swimming in stock of that one, anyway (so less likely there will be a drop immediately until the stock swells again).

3. Pikmin 2 is being re-released on Wii next year so its value is guaranteed not to hold and it's guaranteed not to be difficult to find for much longer.

um...you are like the third person to say that, and if you had read any of my other posts, you would have seen like 5 pages ago that I was talking about people trading in single copys....
I'm not wanting to sound like a jerk, but If my post was unnessasary in this thread, how is your any more nessasary...

to take thsi back on topic, how many of you gusy found copies of No More Heros at you BBV's? Only one store around here has a copy and I'm not sure when i will make it there, is it worth it?

Grabbed a used Elder Scrolls Oblivion GOTY for the PS3 from GS today. The first Blockbuster I took it to quoted a TIV of $20, so I got concerned. Then I drove to a Blockbuster about 7 miles away, and they quoted me the same amount. Looks like Oblivion is going the way of Alone in the Dark (Wii). . .

I ended up getting rid of it for $25 cash at some mom and pop videogame store. This is the same store that's still giving out $10 cash for Alone in the Dark (Wii), btw!

This is a midweek price change. I'm not encouraged by this. . .

I hate to be chicken little and scream the sky is falling but this time.

My BBV gets tons of 360 games in weekly, they have a lage clear plastic tote that they keep under the counter that they throw all thier trades in, by tuesday this week it was already full!! they also seem to get alot of Wii games in, and this is in a town with other places to trade, almost any game I flip there sells instanly, the only problem is that no one buys the 360/Wii games under 14.99. once a game drops to 14.99 I know there is a 90% chance it will be around for the next B1G1.

Anyone know of any flips to FYE other than GTA4? Ive looked on secondspin and wherehouse, and it appears the only likely ones are Super Mario Galaxy and several of the already bolded titles in the op. Seems like an avenue of cashing out quickly rather than heading to ebay or amazon.

Alright, so I have seen this posted numerous times throughout this thread and the previous one about Blockbuster's "New business plan for 2009" and their 99 cent rentals. Well here is my question...

Have your guys' stores not been doing this? I have two Blockbusters by me that have been doing 99 cent rentals since June or July.

Yeah, I thought that was odd, too, since my BBV has had 99 cent rentals for a while also. Except for the ones that are $1.99 (they seem to have a lot of exceptions). But I rented several kids videos that were 99 cents months ago. But it isn't just kids' stuff - a lot of the older movies are too.

So I was finally successful in cobbling together a complete/mint Spiderwick Chronicles - so hooray for me. Got another tonight at a second BBV I decided to hit up while I was out shopping for emergency storm supplies. The roads were better than I expected so I went a bit further than I needed to and hit up one of the busier BBVs in the district. They had NO signage up for B1G1 and had their GTA IV's marked $29.99 or something. Annoyingly, though, they had ALL generic cases for the 360 version. That's pretty lame considering I know they had real cases there not that long ago. Anyway, I got a Spiderwick there with a manual but a crappy case/disc. I put the manual in the one I was going to trade to GS and traded the bad one instead. So now I have one to keep. I'm also considering keeping a PS3 GTA IV. I've never really had an interest in the game but I'm thinking this sale is a sign I should keep at least one. Maybe I'll check it out some day.

I was getting a kick out of reading the complaints about "CAG hoarders" in the other thread that popped up about GTA IV. I was at dinner reading that on my iPhone and making these  in my head... If only those people knew for how long we've stared at oodles and oodles of GTA IV games at every BBV we go to . I'm still pretty surprised they dropped them to $14.99 to be eligible for this sale though - I'd have figured they would have at least waited till it was over then dropped it as I'm sure they'd sell at the $14.99 price with no B1G1. But maybe not - like I said in that thread, my local store still had 15 360 copies and 10 pS3 copies despite properly tagging them and dumping them in the B1G1 bins at the front of the store all day Friday when everyone in town was there stocking up on movies/games for the upcoming snow/ice storm.

But seriously, the particular deal on GTA IV has to be one of THE MOST widely available gaming deals I have ever seen - lots of stores with lots of stock. If any CAG with corporate stores around them misses out then they just aren't trying.

I 2nd...

As I mentioned earlier today (well, I guess it was yesterday now) my dinky little store probably had at least 20 copies between the 2 systems, probably 75% were complete (insert/manual).

I only grabbed 2 for each system, b/c I've got around 4 or 5 sets of last gen trade-ins heading for GS tomorrow (with the help of my assistant (really just my buddy who thinks all of this is cool: playing by their rules and getting free stuff!)) so I can just throw those into those trade piles. We've got 4 GS' here in town, so not too much work involved.

I just didn't have the heart to try to grab them all today, even though I probably could have. This close to the holidays, I just can't muster up the willpower to make another next-town trading run (at least until probably after X-mas). Gotta take the easy profit, and be reasonable right now, unfortunately...

Maybe it's just me, but I can't find any of the PS3 versions of this game. I went to three stores today, but I only came up with two copies of it. At the last store I forgot to check the discs, and I just realized the PS3 GTA IV is missing :bomb: I'll have to fix that tomorrow.

I haven't had any problems finding the 360 version, though. My stores have probably had about 4-6 each. The one thing I was shocked about was the number of great flips I found at those three stores. There were several PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games, plus a ton of Wii and 360 games. I had to leave a lot behind at those stores, and I'm just about out of credit. I might bite the bullet and buy some new copies of Monster Jam, and maybe even a PoP or two to move some credit back to BBV. I'm a little worried to wait an entire week to flip B2G1 games, since the stores could get raided by then. To think, I've still got another 8 stores to hit up!

word, man...well, congrats to you! Certainly seems like you managed a once in a lifetime SUPER ULTRA MEGA UBER 27x multiple GS trade-in...I would go buy a lottery ticket today if I were you!

BTW, how much was that MvC2? That must have been about half of your profit right there. I was just thinking, can you imagine if you had to trade in all of those at 20 some odd different stores? She would have to sign up at each store, but i'm sticking with the one store I go to as the managers are mostly cool (except for one) and they let me trade 3 copies of a game per day.

I didn't get any kind of contact from corporate when i was banned. They told me a letter was sent out, but that was 3 months ago and i've still yet to get it. Corporate supposedly called around saying that for every game I traded, 1 disappeared from another store's inventory.

I traded in 27 of them at ONE gamestop, ALL in to transactions. I did two transactions because I was not sure if i should do it.

This store is not very popular because of the area theyre located at, so they were glad!

And the last one I sold to the employee who was looking for one.

Whew.

wow hopefully his manager dosent find out about him buying one from you...a worker here was just telling me that someone brought in a GBC Zelda to trade last week and she wanted it, but buying something from a customer for personal use is a fireable offence at GS!!

Wow, he could have just let the guy trade it in. With the 75% off sale, plus an Edge card, it would be like $1.50. I'm not sure what the employee discount is, or how it stacks, but that could make it under a dollar. Not worth risking getting fired....

Just picked up 2 copies of GTA IV (one for myself and one for ebay I guess) at a Blockbuster near my house. They were stickered at $24.99 but of course rang up for $14.99 .

They had to have at least used 10 copies in stock at that store for the Xbox 360, saw a couple for PS3 as well, but wasn't sure that would ring up for $14.99 as well (they were stickered at $29.99). Wanted to pick up something different to go with it for with the buy 1, get 1 free under $14.99 deal, but Condemned 2 was the only decent game below that price level that I saw.

Well it looks like my trading days with BBV are coming to and end, I tried to trade last night at a store (Katella/Euclid) and I was told my trade account was suspended. The Manager was totally at a loss to explain it, he said it wasn't a store suspension, but rather a "System" suspension. So I guess I'll troll to another BBV today to confirm the ban is a corp ban. I've kept my BBV cards low, spread my trades around, and followed all the other problem avoidance strategies, so I'm guessing it's the corp dollar limit issue. Intresting thing is I have two accounts, both active and I traded on the second account during lunch hour, so I'm hoping that account will still be active. I'm not sure how I got the second account, but it was set up 3/4 years ago, so I'm guessing it was created before BBV took measures to prevent duplicate accounts from being created. I feel a little sad, but not surprised...

The whole idea behind the rule was to prevent employees from saying: "Hey, you can trade this new game in for $25 credit, or I will personally give you $26 cold hard cash for it."

I don't think it was ever intended to prevent employees from buying games the company doesn't even accept anymore. Of course, you may have a douchebag for a manager, so I guess it could possibly not be worth it.

For the Wii? I know the PS2 version is 6.99 and they could have just put on the wrong BB labe (for PS2 instead of Wii)l, though I would feel ripped off, as I bought a copy of Manhunt 2 to keep yesterday for $9.99.

The PS2 version has been 6.99 for a while is why I bring up that it might have been mistagged (I mean that the little white bar code strip they scan was the PS2 tag on the Wii game)

Oh, that must be the case then. It rang up as $6.99, but I didn't check what version of the game it rang up as. It was the Wii version that I purchased, however.

And uh oh to the people getting corp banned. I'm was going to see if I could do some trades today, but now I'm wary. I don't want to get stuck with any of these titles. Then again, it would make me feel less bad about moving credit away from Blockbuster at that point.

Dont forget...Corp banned me yesterday as well. Except I got a nasty call from the exec office. Lady sounded pissed. I think there was a massive sweep yesterday. I know they are moving away from renting and trying new stuff so maybe this is part of their transition. If you want to continue trading just get added on to a friends account.

I would warn everyone that every game you trade in is saved in the corp database. I told the lady i had never traded in more than 4 games per store which i had not, but the lady said thats true but you have traded in 4 of the same game to 3 different stores which meant i had traded in a total of 12 of the same game. Corp now can monitor every thing you trade so watch out or create multiple accounts. She had in front of her every game i had traded in since Dec 3. So i dont really know if its the latest games that are saved or if she could see further back but she only referenced my trades since Dec 3.

I was told by store managers that a single account could trade 4 of the same game. No more than 2 a day. Thats the rules that every BBV i went to gave me so i thought i was ok. The 3 stores had never given me a problem and were very nice. I went to a BBV yesterday after i found out and the store manager was nice and told me she knew of no ban so i didnt go into real detail.

BTW: The bi&ch from corp called me from a private number. Thought that was kinda funny.

Sorry to cross-promote, but for those not wanting to wait for the Wii bonus @ GS, it looks like FYE (and any other transworld companies that take trades) are paying $10 Cash or $12.50 credit for Super Swing Golf Season 2 ($9.99 before b1g1 @ BB).

Table Tennis Wii is also $5 -> $10/$12.50 as well. I'll be posting more stuff as I find it in the FYE thread.

No ban for me, yet!

Someone snatched up the majority of the PS3 GTA4, but I managed to grab the last three.

I also picked up a few games I traded in last week, Burnout Revenge and NFS: Most Wanted, both marked $9.99. I traded both in for ~$8 each.

Total haul for today, which finished off my BBV credit:

PS3:

14.99:
GTA 4 (x3)

360:

14.99:
Frontlines
Condemned 2 (x2)
GTA 4
Sega Superstar Tennis

9.99:
Burnout Revenge
NFS: Most Wanted

I've found this at most of the BBV i've been to the last couple days. They are way more prepared for this sale then the one over the summer. Then there was more mistagged stuff that regular customers didn't know qualified, and everything wasn't pulled and displayed so you could find stuff mixed with the regular used game section.
Damn them for doing it the right way this time, even putting a loss leader like GTA IV into the mix to draw attention.

Well, luckily for me I have slowed down my flipping this year so I should be good.
