Came back from gamestop
Grand theft auto for ps3 dropped to $9 base plus edge/30 % = 12.60
Ouch, that means 360 version probably dropped further. I wonder how many Wii games will drop before the $5 bonus deal.
does bbv have normal hours today? Are they closing early?
call the fucking store and find out for your fucking self, you lazy fuck ;)
Actually, if you are in the NW, you should call to verify. The snow has closed a lot of businesses down the past few days.

GS -> BB
:360:Oblivion GOTY and :360:Monster Jam
TIVs are $35 and $22.
And BB - > GS
:360:Spiderwick $9.99 -> 7.00 (9.80 w/ edge and 5 games 30% bonus)
:360:F.E.A.R. Files $9.99(FREE) -> 7.00 (9.80 w/ edge and 5 games 30% bonus)
:360:The Club $14.99(Free) -> 6.00 (8.40 w/ edge and 5 games 30% bonus)
:ps3:GTA4 $14.99 -> 11.00 (15.40 w/ edge and 5 games 30% bonus)
:ds:Assassin's Creed Altair's C. $6.99 -> 5.00 (7.00 w/ edge and 5 games 30% bonus)
:ds: Flash Focus $6.99(Free) -> (kept)
Traded in alien syndrome today for $4 at gamestop. Not $1.75 like the trade in value post says.
Yeah, remember that weird period when GS trade-in values kept dropping to odd amounts like that and everyone here freaked out that they "were on to us"? Well, some of the quotes in the second post are from that time and they have since gone back up, so keep finding those if you can! I'll change that one.

Well, dammit, so another "cost" for this huge snowstorm is going to be about $10 more in GS credit I could have had if I could have gotten out the last few days to GS. Now I kind of wish I had just traded it at Hollywood when I was there yesterday - they offered $12 for the PS3 version. I need more HWV/GC credit anyway (down, to, gasp, just a mere $100 now!). Scorch posted that GC will be having a 20% bonus for 3+ games starting the 28th. It's kind of lame in comparison to the GS promos (especially since they never let MVP stack :bomb:) but it might be an option if you have a few left. I may try to take a PS3 and 360 copy along with something else (though I'm not sure what) in there when I can get out (hopefully Friday - snow/ice is starting to melt today - hooray!).
------------------
Oh, and for those who don't know, all my deleting yesterday had nothing to do with people asking questions, it was because of a certain picture someone posted showing all the VV's he bought. I thought the original post (highlighting the mass purchase of VV's that we just found out BBV is cracking down on) wasn't a good thing to post here (especially for the guy who posted it!) given potential BBV snoops. And of course, the responses were page-after-page of flames and counter-flames .

on a side note...xmas time w/the family makes it oh so hard to get out and build some credit up :( but im sure it's much worse for all you married men (and women?)
Luckily, my parents had work today still, so I was able to spend most of the afternoon on some flipping runs to GS. I ran out of BBV credit, though, and still have a few stores to hit up. I'm more concerned about Friday, though since I've got 9 games to return-rebuy with the B2G1 before flipping to BBV, plus a TON of Wii games to trade in. My Gamestops open at 6 on Friday, though, so maybe I can get up super early and get it out of the way without POing the family for being gone all day.

I got $9 for the 360 version today. A lot of TIVs held today, but I don't have a list of what I traded in right now to post. The only fluctuations I experienced were on the PS2 games. One went down by $.25 and a couple actually went up by $.25.

I updated my post with more prices,I don't think there are any price changes. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5290282&postcount=2052
Also I was at a BBV and found a lone VV sitting in the GC display, I picked it up and was about to bring it to the register when the Store Manager walked by and took it from me, citing "technical issues."
Picked up another GC for xmas.
FYI my store is open until 10pm tonight. Store is in FL.

Well, dammit, so another "cost" for this huge snowstorm...
We finally have the big "melt off" going today, but I was up in Troutdale last weekend:) I was hoping to get out and hit a few stores, but I am home with the 3 kids, it will have to wait until later this evening. Hopefully my local store has the Mario figures for $2.99.

Hey guys, I'm new to the site (found out from a friend) and this is the thread I checked out first. Unlike some, I actually read the first post and thanks to all the detailed information and those who provide it, I am in flipping mode. Off to BB to buy some games!

Well I got these today at a Blockbuster that is second closest to my house. All for Wii:
Dream Pinball 3D $10
Cocoto Magic Circus $7 Free
Trauma Center: Second Opinion $15
Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection $15
SSX Blur $10 Free
Nights $10 Free
Ended up spending cash for these because I didn't really have anything to trade-in. I am sad because they had cases for like three other Wii games but didn't have the games. Now, I have 15 Wii games for Friday which is going to be crazy once I get to Gamestop.

I saw super mario sluggers for 27.99, I got it for that price. I am wondering if that was a mistag at that location, because it was 37.99 at every other BB I went to. It also rang up 37.99, but the cashier subtracted 10 bucks, based on the pricetag. YMMV...

Just got back from BB with spider-wick and table tennis. I saw a lot of discounted items. The new indy movie poster was marked down to $15 (can't imagine anyone wanting that), the iron man bobble head was marked down to $5 and unfortunately the joker bobble was still 14.99. Funny thing was that I took a quick glance at the gift card rack and right in the middle there was a huge empty hole were I can only imagine the vanilla giftcards were once kept.

i went to the BB on flatbush and sterling in Brooklyn NY as I'm home for the holidays. Funny to see a bunch of legendaries, Oblivion GOTY, and Monster Jams there. Clearly CAG is wide reaching...
Vanilla Visa's were not on the giftcard display but were prominently displayed at the register.

Hey, I know you said you were knew, so I just wanted to point something out to you before you kick yourself... Alone in the Dark isn't a good flip anymore. It is only $9 for Wii now. IO and Sonic will have to check the first 3 posts and make sure they are up to date. Probably just a small error.
Merry Christmas to you all... Have a safe time too... I know it was slippery as hell today here in West Michigan.
EDIT: Sorry I'm an idiot and forgot about the PS3 Alone in the Dark (probably because I haven't seen a single one used yet).

Super quick editing. I was just posting to say that.
After raining all day everything that was left froze solid.
Anyways, Sega Superstar Tennis for X360 is now getting $8 at Blockbuster. I was able to get in and pick up a Mario figure for $2.99 at about 9:40 tonight.

I remember you or maybe it was Linkin merged one of the threads with that "General..." thread right after we closed the previous Blockbuster thread. Maybe it was just some leftovers that hadn't been taken out.
Dys006, I don't know where in MI you are, but if you are traveling tomorrow be really careful on 94 and 96. 94 had that 100 car pile up a couple days ago and tonight 96 was solid black ice with cars in the ditch and median every 1/2 mile.

I live south of the MI/IN border, we had some crazy Ice last night(tuesday), It took me 30 minutes to get home from work, and it was worse this morning, but then it warmed up to about 50 and rained all day, I'm not sure if it's icy out or not, I'v been inside all night.
P.S. Is anyone else dealing with crappy plow drivers? I about got pushed off the raod on my way to BBV today, I had to go out into the snowy ditch with my tiny car so the friggin plow could go down the middle of teh road. I haeard several other people complain about the same thing, I guess on the state roads the plows were driving West on Eastbound lanes. Frigin Drunks!!!

I traded in two copies of GTA IV PS3 and the TIV held, so..................................
I guess I can expect a drop for Friday; also are we 100% sure the current trade-in deal ends on the 28th? I talked to to the manager at GS and he said he thought it would continue through the next period.

Wow. I grew up in Kalamazoo and live in North Carolina now. This is the first year my family and I didn't go back North for Christmas, and I was just sitting here, listening to the rain and missing the snow. After reading your posts, I don't miss it all.

You know, there are a lot of 19.99 games that I've wanted to pick up... but never did. Has anybody tried to purchase a 19.99/14.99 combo to see if the 14.99 game rings up free? I was told it doesn't work, but since it's automated in the system... does the system count it... or is it truly required to be 14.99 or below on both games? I guess I should know this, but I can't really remember the last time i've seen a 19.99 game that I've honestly considered picking up before waiting on the inevitable drop.

Hey all,
I'm fairly new to the forums and kind of new to gaming in general. Well, I had an original XBOX but it didn't get much use until I modded it. Currently, I own a PS3 and play it all the friggin time... but this is a fairly recent occurrence. I just did my first "game flip" the other day and was totally unaware of the practice until finding this thread. With these things said, I would like to get some input from my fellow CAGs on an idea I have related to game flipping.
Basically, I have a vision. This thread seems to be the most comprehensive resource for game TIVs. Unfortunately, I find it a bit hard to navigate when I am looking for the TIV of a particular game. What I am getting at is this: I'm not sure that a discussion thread is the ideal format for listing TIV of games. This is my vision: a comprehensive online database of TIVs for all games, not limited to "current" or "next"-gen consoles, but for older consoles as well. Additionally, I envision a database which is not limited to BBV/GR/GS, but also includes other stores that accept trade-ins (i.e., EB... on that note, why aren't EB TIVs listed in this thread?). So, the vision for the website is a searchable index of games that list their most recent know TIV for each store. I'm toying with the idea of a wiki-format so the users can update TIVs themselves. Not only will the database be searchable, but the ability to browse games by certain criteria will also be possible (i.e., by console).
I want to get everyone's opinions on this and if you feel it would be useful. So, I am asking that you respond to this message with your opinions on my idea. Ideas of your own are also welcome. If this gets off the ground, I want this to be a community project; after all, the people on this forum will be the ones using it so it is important to me that everybody finds it useful and is able to contribute.
Also, if this launches, I think a "mobile" version of the site would be useful, enabling us to do quick checks of TIVs while we are in-store (from our mobile phone web browsers). This idea just struck me today and I want to get some opinions on it before I spend money on a domain name. Sorry for the novel, but hopefully this will initiate some ideas.

Well, something like that would be nice, and it sounds very much like the CAG wiki we used to have. It had TIVs for all the major chains and was kept up by members of CAG. But it sort of fell into disrepair (for one thing I was unable to edit it for a long time - kept getting errors). I was hoping something would be rolled out as a CAG 2.0 feature that kept TIVs along with game prices and review scores. That remains to be seen. However, we DO currently have comprehensive lists for Blockbuster/Gamerush and EB/GS on the site.
The BB/GR one is just getting started but Friend of Sonic maintains it in the thrid post of this thread. The EB/GS one has been going for a while (someone else did it, then I did it for a while, and now jp0213 maintains it). It is in the current EB/GS trade-in promo thread:

Just hit up two local Blockbusters and while one was a bust, the 2nd was a gold mine for me. Glad to see them open on boring Xmas afternoon.
Didn't go looking just for flips, mainly going to get some more backlog and games I skipped for whatever reason, but I had at least one good killer score out of their new games.
Used picked up:
GTA IV x2 (for flips)
The Club
Tomb Raider Legend
Medal of Honor Airborne
Frontlines Whatever of War
The score was a brand new SOCOM for the PS3 with the Bluetooth headset for $20.99. I think this may be a YMMV though because at the first BBV I went to, they had SOCOM for 40 some-odd and change, but the 2nd had it for $20.99.

Amazingly the Gamerushes were cleared out. One store had 0 flippable titles, and the other had 6. I hit up another 6 stores and was able to pick up a total of 43 games bringing up the total count of games I have to flip to 102...
And i still have a little under $200 credit left. God I love this sale.

Regrettably I'm going to have to sit the B2G1 sale out because there's nothing flippable at the Gamestops around me.

It is a temporary price drop until 1/8. So, it is only a good flip for a couple weeks.

Fracture PS3 36
Endwar 360 35
Endwar PS3 36
Farcry 2 360 32.50
Prince of Persia PS3 36
Prince of Persia 360 35
I've traded in these games last week at Blockbuster. They will all come in handy this weekend with the B2G1 at GS.
I'll add these but I'm not looking up the GS prices for them (Edit : already had Far Cry 2 in there but at $32).
Well, my brand new PS3 (paid for with GS credit mostly from BBv and HWV flips) is now set up and my son, apparently, is playing Guitar Hero Aerosmith ($30 bundle from Best Buy) online under my account .
I haven't had time to do much of anything with it myself yet. But if anyone here wants to add me as a friend it is Odibee just like my Xbox Live account...
I'm about to head out to Blockbuster to return some rentals that I will otherwise own tomorrow. It is still a mess here but it is more slush than ice (though the rain turned to snow a bit a few minutes ago). I figure I better get out while I can. I know there's nothing flipworthy at my local BBV but that's all I've been able to get to in 6 days. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out a bit, though it isn't looking great for any lengthy amount of driving. I have to get to GS some time soon though!
makstaks - Yeah, as for the "good $9.99 games" list in the OP, I haven't updated that much recently. It was kind of in preparation for the B1G1 and once that started I added new stuff in the second post as it was more important. I probably ought to just get rid of the list from the OP, but it will continue to be useful (once updated) after the B1G1 ends, so I guess I'll leave it (and update it later).
Funny "flipping" story: I spent a few hours yesterday "flipping" turnips in Animal Crossing City Folk. I went to jdm's town where he had it set to Sunday when the turnips are sold (for 103) and jumped to another CAG's town where they were buying them for 548. I made millions via that flip - BEST FLIP EVER!. Well, my kids are happy, anyway, because today they are playing and upgrading their houses and all that, so it was worth it. Anyway, my point is it is addictive even in the virtual world ;).

You've just made me realize something. Anyone ever play the old, DOS-based "Dopewars" game? The one where you ride the subway around NYC, buying and selling different drugs, trying to make money, all text-based? That game TOTALLY was the primer for flipping games!!!

according to the 2nd post both Fracture games only get 23, so not too sure whats up with the high trade in.

Actually, that's the third post... I just added Fracture at $36 to the second post because of millerjm2's post. I'll delete it from there till confirmed at either $23 or $36 - huge difference! Had I know before I just went to BBV I would have asked. I wanted to check on a price while they had my account up to see if they said anything about a note/ban. I asked about GH:Aero for PS3 (still $23). No mention of a note, though since I didn't actually trade I can't be sure.

Does BB not take the PS3 Guitar Hero III or will they accept it if you trade it in with the guitar?
Will they take the game only if I print out a new cover with a barcode on it?

It all depneds on the manger of the store, some that sell alot of games will take in disk only, but stores that don't will use any excuse not to take a game in.
From my experience BBV wants nothing to do with pereferials, I was flipping Guitar hero's fron the pawn shop back when BBV gave $25 for it, and they never once asked for a guitar, I didnt even think of it. IF you take it to GS they give one TIV for the game and another for the guitar, I'm guessing BBV is similar.
I think the only reason they demand some pereferials is if the game needs it to function, Guitar Hero uses the controller as well as the guitar. alot of people around here were buying 2 cheap bundles and then trading in the extra game so they could ahve 2 guitars.

Thanks for the great flipping info on this thread, but we need to put togeher some other good 26.99 games that can be paired up with Legendary and Obilvion Game of the Year for maximum potential. The games that trade for $35 listed earlier: Fracture, Endwar, and Prince of Persia are good in a pinch. It would be nice to find another game that trades in at a level close to Oblivion and Legendary that is priced in the mid twenties. Thanks for any updated TIV info provided!!

hey y'all...I've missed CAG for the 26 hours I've been away! I am getting pretty excited for tomorrow....
In between the Wii trade in bonus starting, the 5+ 40% bump being extended, and the B2G1 for flipping back to BBV, I'm gonna be a busy boy!
I've got around 25 Wii games to trade in so far, about 65 super-hot hwv/last gen titles to trade in (multiple Pikmin 2's, fire emblems, etc...), and around 4 GS' to hit that looks like they might have a good combination of flippables back to GS.

I agree with you. We need way more good flips, especially in the 26.99 range.
I've been grabbing a DBZ (ps3) if there aren't multiple oblivions and legendarys. Some of them I've found come with a free DBZ Blu Ray. Or you could almays mix and match at different stores.

Still though, you could grab that combo pretty readily (fracture, endwar, PoP, or substitute FarCry 2 for a little less), and with B2G1 coming tomorrow the price for those 3 will drop to a little over $20/ea with EDGE bonus...not quite a 2x flip, but not to shabby; and at least where I am, I've seem them all pretty readily available (according to GS.com at least 2 of my local stores have at least 1 of the afore-mentioned combos each, but no Oblivions, Legendary's, or Monster Jams). I'll be there first thing in the morning...:D

While I have had run-ins with douche managers at a Gamestop before when I lived in other places, the one I go to regularly now the manager is a great guy, probably the best that I've ever dealt with. I go to that store whenever I can.
The worst was the douche in Greensboro, NC who wouldnt sell me a copy of Halo 3 at the midnight launch (neglected to preorder) at 12:45 and no one was in the store and I was at the back of the line. Told me to come back in the morning when he had more; meanwhile theres literally 300 to 500 copies sitting right behind him. I just went into the Walmart down the street and got it in there after I told him where to stick the 500 sitting behind him

There's a two copies of same game, per day limit. Sometimes that means per store, sometimes that means per cardholder account from what I've gathered.

YMMV. Its not going to be across the board and I 100% disagree with the "mostly they are in poor shape" idea. I find it to be completely opposite. I buy probably 100+ used games a year and at least a third come from Blockbuster and rarely, if ever do I get anything thats untradeable or so bad that it makes a difference. In fact, I can't even recall it happening once with a "next-gen" game since I've had them.
I got two GTAIVs at the same store today. Both came with the original green 360 case, insert, and both had the map and the guide. One disc looked brand new, the other had a few minor scuffs, but nothing to stop me from trading it to GS or if I was keeping it to cause any worry.
I got two others back when the sale first started from a different store (mainly as fillers for the get 1 free) and both of those were in the "Like New and complete" category.
If it bothers you that you may get something in bad condition, you can always ask to see the game before purchasing it, plus everything is guaranteed for 30 days, so even if you did buy it, took it home and didnt like what you saw or it farted out on you during play, you can return it without question.

Hey i know this is offtopic but what was the site everyone was using to buy accessories for an itouch. I finally got one and need a cheap, good case.
Yeah, man, I can help there. I had to dig the same site up earlier when I wanted to order stuff for my daughter's.
It is dealextreme.com.
They are somewhat slow in that I ordered Dec. 6th and got two packages just recently - one last week, and, thankfully (and finally), one on Christmas Eve. Since that last one had the screen protector in it that was critical since my daughter wanted to play with it as soon as she got it today ;).
However, the shipping is free and the cases and screen protectors are, like $2-$3. I ordered 3 different soft cases for the touch, a couple of soft cases for the new Nano, and the screen protector and my total was $10.71 - paid via PayPal. It was very cheap for what I got. On some of the cases you can't pick the color and one that was the nicest otherwise (in pattern and fit) turned out to be pink. Even my 11 year-old daughter didn't really want that one. But I got 2 others and she liked one of them so it worked out. Considering that I got all 3 for about $6, that's not too bad. It isn't the best fit (a bit loose), but it does the job. The screen protector is perfect, though, and the $3 or so I paid for it sure is better than the $25 they want for essentially the same thing at the Apple store.
I would recommend getting a few cases, though, as you may have to try some out.
As for tomorrow, well, frankly, I was too busy playing the new PS3 and watching blu-ray movies with the kids today to pay too much attention to it. I still won't be able to get around too easily tomorrow anyway. But I am totally confused about Fracture. Is it $35 or $23? Anyway, I'm sure someone will find out tomorrow. Otherwise, I think, the lists are as up to date as they can be unless people start calling around themselves.
I'll probably pass on the B2G1 stuff as there really isn't enough to get even if I collect them at various stores. I do, however, want to dump some of these B1G1 BBV games at GS - need to do that ASAP. I hate having them sit here for so long .

GS base:
Metal Slug Anth $5
Geometry Wars $5 (this worked out to a $3.50--$10.50 flip)

No. It's absolutely impossible.
The computer automatically makes the cheapest one the free one, or if two of them are the same price, one of those. It even says so on the ads themselves, i.e. "free game must be of equal or lesser value to qualify".
There is no way around this and its like this for virtually every "buy X get X free" deals in history at every store ever.

Secondly; to save some time. 2nd and oregon dosen"t seem to be participating. No sign in store and gave a guy a hard time yesterday. Their selection isn't good anyway. Aramingo store is picked clean. Yep. Its getting really picked over though. At the one I go to most often, there were about 10 GTA IV's on Xmas Eve (I bought 2 of them to flip) and today there was only 1 left. They also had stuff like Medal of Honor: Airborne and other stuff like that the last time, today it was all 2K8 sports titles and a boatload of Condemned 2's + tons of crap whose TIVs Im so unsure of it was a risk.
On the bright side, today I bought that GTA IV, The Club, found Manhunt 2 for PS2, TH:PG, Spyro, and Spiderwick Chronicles for Wii and flipped em at GB and got over $60 in credit, so basically doubled what I spent at BB, so for a last flip from BB, it worked out well.

A couple of questions since I'm a total noob at doing this:
1. I forgot my EDGE card when I came home for Christmas. Can they perform a lookup at the register to give me my 10% as well as credit me the trades? I had something like $70 on my EDGE card.
2. Are you guys taking the price stickers off the BBV game cases, or just leaving them all as is?

YMMV on #1 depending on how busy/cool the guys are at the store. If I remember correctly, if you have a copy of a Gameinformer mag it will have your ID# on it... Oh, and bring ID. No deal w/o ID.
#2 - I take the stickers off of original cases (kinda obfuscates their origin), but I leave them on the BBV cases (ones that have cover art, but are clearly marked BBV on the front or back - usually reprints). I take the discs out of generic cases and put them in sleeves to trade to GS.
GS will always take a game-only trade-in. BBV typically will not. Small bottle of GooGone and a rag for the car and you're gtg. For the more chemically inclined, tol or EtOAc works great. Do NOT keep those in the car...

No one cares to perfect the art of label removal? I've become a near expert at doing so since I've started flipping and have only had trouble with the old blockbuster price tags. The rest I can simply peel away once I can lift a corner.

Just got some BB TIVs:
Fracture for PS3 only gets $23.
Last Remnant for Xbox360 still gets $35.
Yeah, I was gonna hop on here and inform everybody about Fracture also..... people had been saying $36/$35 but its actually $23/$22 BBV TIV.
Also, Bladestorm for 360 still gets $28.50 (I picked up that with Endwar PS3 and Far Cry 2 360 instead of Fracture).
Picked up a Wall-E figure (The Captain of the Axiom; daughter has Wall-E and EVE already) for $2.99 and 4 Mario figures for $2.99 each. My parents bought my daughter a digital camera for x-mas so I also grabbed a 2 GB Kingston SD card for $12.99.
Sadly, I think I wiped out all the decent B1G1 Wii games at my two local store already.... got impatient and didn't want to hang on to anything until now. I did managed to grab 2 Wii games that I'll trade to GS later, but nothing spectacular. I might have to do another B2G1 purchase at GS, hang on to a copy of Far Cry 2 for myself, and flip the other two games I buy.
FYI, Alone in the Dark Wii trades to GS for $5 base and is $14.99 at BBV. So, if paired up as a B1G1, its $7.50 -> $10. Not great, but another worth grabbing.

After 4 BBV's I finally found one (Hull Street, closer to Brandermill Chesterfield VA=).
I'm glad I was able to get a copy of GTA 4 360 and Dark Sector. There are 2 more copies left. There was no dump bin, and the games were placed nicely on a shelf so you can pick look through them with ease.

Hey guys, I was skimming through this thread and saw lolwaut's post here and just wanted to point something out to you guys.
Neksus, who is a regular on the Canadian cag forum, has put together an awesome site for all the canadian cags for tiv's at EBGames, Blockbuster, and Future Shop(canadian sister to best buy). His website is www.tivs.ca (http://www.tivs.ca) you guys should check it out. BTW, according to his site, GTAIV gets $25 at EBGAMES in canada. Hoping to pick some up on Saturday from Michigan and trading them back in here in Windsor.

TIVS.ca is really nice... but it would be such a huge undertaking for someone to do. We DO have a TIV Wiki, but as far as I understand, it's no longer used or updated.

Yea, I know. It's a lot of work and Neksus has been good at keeping it updated as often as possible when people post tivs across different sites. I think he should get some kudos for his work.

My copies of GTA look like they have never been played.
My friend picked up 6 copies of GTA IV at BBV to flip. They were all in mint condition. Surprisingly, there were only two copies of GTA at a blockbuster I went to earlier before coming upon a different BBV.

And it looks like I might have to buy back my AiTD (Wii) to re-flip for that price!

Hell, at GS it's only $17.99 used; a little less with EDGE discount. Pair it up with 2 other inexpensive titles, and your cost would drop to a little over $10...not too shabby.
Great series, BTW...I, much like most of Europe, have preferred it to the FIFA series for the last few years, but I have recently picked up FIFA '09 and Pro EVO '09 super cheap from GS with B2G1, so I'm gonna give FIFA a run this year as well.

I made the mistake of grabbing 2x Far Cry 2 for the PS3 with the plans to flip to BBV. I totally forgot that there were the issues with trade ins of this title, does anyone remember why? Is it something that we will be able to trade in at some point, or should I try to swap out titles?
My apologies, when I did the search it didn't come back with anything, I think there is a limit of 3+ characters in a search.

Some BBVs will show buyback quantity as 0 meaning they currently aren't taking any copies for trade. If you have a few BBVs in your area there should be a couple that are taking copies. I had that happen to me at one BBV but didn't have any problems when I took it to another close by.

I posted this on the Gamestop thread as well, but I just want to thank the BBV thread as well, for all the work you guys do...
just completed my first day of flipping. on the road for 5 hours, turned 35 cash into 145 GS credit and still have 12 BBV credit...
screwed up bigtime though...had PoP, actually found it used, and really wanted it, so I kept it. Went to bbv saw SMG for 25 and picked it up (that means I traded in my PoP for BBV credit) thinking I would get more money at GS than the 25 I paid for it...turns out I did my math way wrong, lost 5 dollars on the trade, and lost Prince of Persia.
Not only did I loose the 5 bucks, and Prince of Persia, but I lost the $25 I could have put towards other flippable items.
This isnt the place for it, but I would like to thank all you CAGers for keeping such an informative and helpful area for all of us...because if we dont flip to gain, we still save using all the found deals.
This may be old news, but Disgaea 3 for :ps3: is $34.99 used at GS as well...not sure what the BB TIV is however.
A couple of questions since I'm a total noob at doing this:
1. I forgot my EDGE card when I came home for Christmas. Can they perform a lookup at the register to give me my 10% as well as credit me the trades? I had something like $70 on my EDGE card.
YMMV on getting them to apply the Edge card 10%. However, in terms of crediting you the trades, they can just give you another (blank) Edge card. It won't have the sticker on it but it works just fine for storing credit. I have a drawer full of them ;).
FYI, Alone in the Dark Wii trades to GS for $5 base and is $14.99 at BBV. So, if paired up as a B1G1, its $7.50 -> $10. Not great, but another worth grabbing.
And it ought to be readily available at most CAG's BBV's after the GS->BBV flip a few months back ;).
This may be old news, but Disgaea 3 for :ps3: is $34.99 used at GS as well...not sure what the BB TIV is however.
Thanks - it's news to me! That is one of the games I'd like to get for my new PS3 so that adds another option for B2G1. Time to check out the GS stock and decide if I can get out anywhere today. You are probably a bit more thawed out down there but we still have some pretty bad roads here, but if I can make it to the main highways I can probably hit up 1 or 2 GS stores. I HAVE to get rid of these Wii games!
Oh, and I updated the second post with all the BBV and GS trade-in prices posted to this thread.

P.S- Any one know the trade in at BB for the 360 Legendary and the PS3 DBZ
Wow, so why aren't people talking about this End War that much? It is this game, right:
Tom Clancy's End War
Because that is available at, like, EVERY GS around me for both 360 and PS3. Whereas Last Remnant, Oblviion GotY, and Legendary simply do not exist. I found ONE PoP and a couple of Disgaea 3. Fortunately, it looks like I can make a nice set of Disgaea 3, PoP, and End War at my closest GS so it looks like I'm definitely headed there today. If, for some reason, the PoP is gone then I can get End War for both systems.
sandaz93 - Motorstorm is only $9.99 at GS? Man, I'm going to have to check out the cheap PS3 games there to fill out my library. I'd grab that and a couple of others for $18 (after Edge + B2G1). And as you showed, there's always the backup of trading in any duplicates (if I can't find 3 unique games) to BBV...
(Edit: Hmmm, besides sports games the only other $9.99 PS3 game is Beowulf and I ain't touching that again . Ah, hell, if I can find them, I'll just get 3 Motorstorms - 1 for me, 1 for my dad, and 1 for Blockbuster...).

I definitely think they gutted some copies and put them out used, EndWar and Far Cry 2. You'd think they'd make it easy on us and throw some Prince of Persia's out too. Stores around me are pretty wiped of the 'good' used games people actually want to play.

Got :360: NBA Ballers Chosen One, Condemned 2, Kameo and VF5 for $25 total, decide I didn't want Ballers since its horrible and tried to return it and was told they only take things back if they don't work and only exchange for another copy. Got into a argueing match, glitter, magazine rack, yada yada, end of story I'm not going back to BBV anymore. $9 game rentals can shove it anyway.
Io, if you're looking for a copy of Motorstorm just to play, let me know - I've got one from the Hollywood mistag that was $3 - it trades for generally the same at GS, but if you want it, lemme know and I'll send it your way as a gift. I think it's disc, manual, generic HWV case.

Went to three different gamestops, spent about an hour in all the lines total, and got two legendaries and an oblivion goty. Weird thing was that one of the legendaries had a PROMOTIONAL COPY DO NOT SALE on the game disc. I'm going to try trading it in today and I thought that maybe I should put a piece of black tape over it (the disc is dark). I need to test it out to make sure it's a real full copy of the game but it seems like gamestop shouldn't have been selling it in the first place.

I turned my $500 BB credit into over a grand GS; still got $170 BB & quite a few games left to flip.
I got confirmation that starting January 5th is the Trade 3 get $15 bonus deal for Wii, 360 & PS3 @ GS/EB. This means it might be better to hold onto those 360 games as it brings some like Fear Files & Virtua Fighter up to $5 -> $12.70 rather than the $9.80 they get now. GTA 4 360 will be $7.50 -> $14.90 and the Ps3 version will be $7.50 -> $15.90.
I just hope the TIV's dont plummet before then. I also hope that BB does some huge re-stocks on sunday as the entire city has been pretty well picked over.

Yeah, stopped by 4 BBV's today, and they were stripped clean of VV's; I even saw one store just leave the entire area on the rack blank in kind of a reverse buck-teeth looking scenario.
Related to that, my account is apparently frozen (the exact word used, not banned) by a manager at one BBV. Haven't tried trading at any of the others, but the way it sounded was that the store manager, rather than district or corporate, halted my account. I think i accidentally used credit I put on my account to buy a VV, rather than use a value card. Just wondering what the fuck the guy plans to say to me in order to lift the freeze.
And so I don't feel totally worthless, I'd be careful for using :wii: Avatar: The last Airbender, as it's getting dangerously close to the $2. It dropped 0.25 to a base TIV of $2.50, so it's a $0.50 drop away from not counting for the deal.

Watch out for some garbage wii games, i bought a bunch from bb to flip at gs today and found out that some games were only worth $2, and they don't qualify for the extra $5 dollar bonus. I was f'n pissed cause it screwed up all my calculations.

I posted these in the GS thread, but I wasnt sure if you wanted to add the BB -> GS flips to the 2nd post. (TIV's in spoiler)

Unfortunately I didn't read the whole description as it was something "I wasnt supposed to see" while they were looking through the promos in their computer database. The last few Trade 2/3's were $1 minimum meaning everything had to be $1.25 base or more to qualify.
you trying to be the new Kunai?
I've been "kunaii'ing" since before the guy was even a member on the forums. While there are some cool mangers here, there are none that would sell me a game for $15, let me trade it in for $36 and then re-buy it again for $15 multiple times. That Kunai is just plain lucky (except when it comes to his girlfirend monkeydeew getting fired from GS, causing him to go on a fake coupon posting rampage)

The ad states $2.00 or less don't qualify, so a $2.00 trade base makes it not qualify.:-#

Ok, so I tried my first flip today, and the lady at blockbuster told me that I either have to be 18 (damn late birthday) or older or signed up under my parents' trade in account to trade in games. Does anybody know if I have to sign up under my parents' account again if I want to do a trade in at a different blockbuster?

You have to sign a new trade agreement at each blockbuster you want to trade at.

I'm pissed. I tried trading and was told Mark the DM noted my account saying not to accept trades from me. Nearly two weeks passed without him returning the promised call back. FUCKING BULLSHIT. I'm trying the BBB, but I don't think they cover these kind of service issues. And I bet Mark will never call back.
Interestingly, I traded in Tempe, which I think is another district, just fine. I'll do some light trading there, but man, what a bunch of cocks at Blockbuster. The manager, who was going to help me with my trade before she saw my account, had a friendly attitude that went straight to bitchy for no reason when she read my account. It's like they're all programmed to be assholes who treat you like a criminal if you're banned from trading.

Traded in 6 games total today to BB to get credit back up to around $190.
Blew through most of that hitting 4 other Blockbusters on the way to work.
One was a 'goldmine', 9 out of 10 games I grabbed were mistagged. I felt weird bringing up all these games that didn't qualify based on the sticker, but magically they all fell under $15 once rung up. It's almost embarrassing knowing more than the employees.
One store had the wrong sticker on an Avatar game and the clerk claimed it really was $19.99, so i finally got Marvel UA for PsP.(which was also mistagged $14.99, instead of actual $9.99)
Traded 12 games into GS $125, got Imagine Ballet and Fashion Designer NY.
Extra $5 on all systems coming, wonderful, now i need to get more flips to get BB credit back up and clear out what's left of the GTA's and friends.
I thought I ran into a CAG at one BB today. I know someone goes there based on what's for sale used (eye of judgement, Endwar, POP). On line there's a guy with about 5 games. All I see are the cases are green, so I think it's some Xbox stuff, it is, but it is Halo 2, Top Spin, Doom. All original Xbox. They offer him 50 cents for a couple of them and then he just leaves.
Over the summer the B1G1 at Blockbuster was extened since it did so well, hopefully the same will happen this time. From what I've seen they have moved a lot of games from my local stores. Especailly the ones that set up nice displays.

Bummer, found out I got banned by corporate at the store across the street in my hometown :( I guess I'll give corporate a call...? I'm not very clear on how successful y'all have been on lifting bans. Luckily, the other BBV about 10 minutes away checked my account and said there wasn't anything wrong, so it was likely store-specific.

Word... that makes me feel a little better. It was just kinda scary to hear the words "corporate" and "can't trade anymore" come from the BBV employee after she scanned my card.
I also noticed (along with others) that all of the GTA4s had been snatched up. Checking Craigslist, I noticed someone selling a ton of them for $20 each.

Went in to GS to trade in some games,
after waiting in line for 30 minutes,
the guy at the counter says "We're not taking trades right now".
I was about to spend over $100 after I traded the stuff,
but I was not about to give them my money after that...
Picked up these at BB Today:
Wii - Rapala Fishing
Wii - Super Mario Galaxy
360 - Spiderwick Chronicles
Would've liked to trade them in,
but it was a no-go.

Hit the Legendary gold mine today after my girlfriend dragged me along to the mall with her and much to my suprise they had 3 copies of PS3 Legendary used. I about shit after they didn't have anything else in the store at all worth flipping. It was also only the 3rd -5th copies I have ever seen used since it came out and that is between 6 stores on different sides of the state.

So, today was interesting.
For anyone signing up to trade under a parent/spouse/etc account, its YMMV on your store requiring the account holder to be there in person to sign you up.
Endwar, PoP, SS vol. 1 bundle, etc, are all trading in as reported; Smash Court Tennis 3 is still a pain in the ass and not scanning correctly, causing it to be denied by incompetent employees. SSv1 is also YMMV with some stores refusing to take back games with bundled accessories.
Two fun surprises happened at one store: Collector's Edition Dark Knight Blu Ray (with batpod) tagged at $29.99. The employee boasted he had tagged them just then and how it was a great deal. It rang up at $49.99 ($10 below MSRP) and he had to manually adjust it, so, once again, YMMV. I also found a $9.99 KotoR II...that, when the clamshell was removed from, turned out to be brand new, sealed and mint.
Finding sealed, relatively valuable last-gen games at your local BBV is YMMV, although I did get a sealed Tenchu Z :360: as part of this deal is YMMV at another store.
The employee also proceeded to rearrange games after I told him I sorted them by price point and ignore me when I told him he had to total between each pair, causing him to take a bad attitude and argue with me when I tried to correct him. The manager came over, also gave an attitude, and acted like a huge bitch despite my best efforts to be polite and explain the situation. Employee rudeness, however, is generally corporation-wide, and, although YMMV in some locations, it tends to be easy to find (possibly only corporate stores?).
Lulzily enough, I tried to buy Bully :wii: at one store and found the disc to be in rather poor condition. The clerk gladly swapped it out for an immaculate one...and I didn't find out until I was gathering everything to bring to GameStop that she had given me the 360 version in error. I think I'll keep that one...but that deal is also YMMV.
The best part was probably having a friend who works for a company related to GS chill with me when I was picking some stuff up from then; it didn't stack with the B2G1, but the company discount was nice when using cheap credit to pick up some PSN/Live cards to fund my LBP/SS/RB/GH/DLC habit.
Tracking down a used 120 GB HDD :360: is a real bitch, though.
Also, more snark: The manager at a GS I tried asking about was a cunt for no reason. I tried asking if they had a used 120 GB HDD, the clerk looked at a shelf and said "60" and tried talking to the manager and there was a bunch of confusion on whether the 60 was the size of the drive, the price, or both; and the manager just got really snotty (not sure if it was meant for me or for the employee, but it was still rather uncalled for and completely unprofessional).
I also found TWO GTA IV time cards in the GTAIVs! I'm sure my uncle will be happy to have those since I'm paid up for years with the cards from $20 vision bundles.

Tried going to two gamestop's yesterday but decided to leave since they were packed with lines going out by the door at each of them. Ugh having b2g1 sale the day after xmas sucks, :(. Might try my luck tomorrow.
Also went to two BBV's to try to get my disc resurfaced after reading they do that but was denied at each of them, so its sadly YMMV on that. Picked up a couple of games, some mario figures and my mom finally bought a blu ray player there. You also get a blue ray movie free with it , got the Dark Knight :).
On a side note is the slyvannia(spelling?) blu ray player any good? figured it has to be at least decent.
Oh and almost forgot a BBV TIV
God of war psp gets 12.50
Traded it in since I got it as a gift but already had it.

Yeah, it was pretty bad at the one I was finally able to get to today. Nothing like that, but more crowded than I've ever seen it. See, around here a lot of people couldn't shop before Christmas due to the weather so stores got hit really hard today. As I type a bunch of rain has come down and the road in front of my house is getting clearer by the hour. I should be able to make a nice run this weekend, though my wife will probably kill me ;).
I took 5 Wii games from my local BBV (all I had besides 2 more that were dups) to the closest GS and got $65.70 for $25 of my BBV credit - not bad at all. I was pretty selective and only bought the $8 stuff (except for Nights which I thought got more than $5). I passed up a lot of $5 things but kind of regretted it after how much of a hassle it was to get to GS and trade those games. And especially with the demise of the VV's - that BBV credit just became much less valuable and I would gladly double it into GS credit at this point.
As expected, the GS did not have the PoP the store locator said they had. As usual, though, I asked to be sure and was kind of pissed that they just replied "Oh no, that is way too new for us to have a copy". Well, they had one, so out goes that theory . I wanted them to check the computer to see if it was misplaced (as I have gotten things that way after not finding them on the shelves). I was really looking forward to playing that for a week on my new PS3 before trading it to BBV (I figured it is new enough to hold for a while there - could treat it as a free, and then some, rental ;)). But, anyway... So I had to settle for 2 copies of End War to go along with my Disgaea 3. I also picked up 2 copies of Motorstorm (one for me, one for my dad) and then spent a long time looking for a third game. I thought about getting some 360 stuff like Just Cause. I finally settled on one (Arctic Tale) that used to be a good BB trade-in game but has been removed from the list. I probably made a mistake, as it cost a bit more ($12.99). I just searched this thread and the last one and for some reason I can't find a single post about it. I know it was a flip at one point and discussed for sure - the search function is sometimes pretty flaky. I'd be happy with $5 or $6 out of it just as a free thing that came along with the 2 Motorstorms (paid $20.68 total for Arctic Tale and 2xMotorstorm).
Oh, I also stopped by Gamecrazy and traded one 360 GTA IV there. It got me $12 base ($13.20 after MVP). Since I'm so low on GC credit from the HWV sale, that was definitely better than $12.60 with the tiered promo at GS. PS3 version gets the same. Of course, this was before I saw Berzerker's post about the $5 bonus deal for 360/PS3/Wii returning next week (when it would get $14.90, assuming it doesn't drop). Oh well, no biggie - I really do need some more GC credit. I got a $50 gift card from my store credit there to spend at Hollywood if I can find anything at this point.

I find it best that when these sales happen to hit up obsure locations. For instance I went to the main one that everybody shops at because they had what I need to buy but I just wanted to trade-in my Wii games so I went to the one Gamestop around me that most people don't even know about because of it being so new and its location is a little hidden if you aren't paying attention. I just walked in and only had to wait a few minutes to do the transaction which made me happy because the line was about a 20 minute wait at the primary location.
Or if you want to avoid the lines go to the store when it opens or just before they close. This works for me most times because I know most of the people around me aren't early birds or already home near closing.
Unfortunately I didn't read the whole description as it was something "I wasnt supposed to see" while they were looking through the promos in their computer database. The last few Trade 2/3's were $1 minimum meaning everything had to be $1.25 base or more to qualify.
I remembered that it was some value but I couldn't remember it exactly because I don't want to get any games BB that are below that value.

Sadly, I did not get to go flipping yesterday. My wife was sick and the weather was crappy so I did not want to take my kid out with me. Oh well, I'm back from work now and after a few hours of sleep it's off to get me some credit. Hoping I'll find a Left 4 Dead in my travels since my brother-in-law just got it and the last co-op game we both owned a copy of was Gears of War 1.

What is TIV at BBV for Disgaea 3 (PS3)? I did not see it listed in 2nd post.
No one knows. H2dk mentioned it as a recent drop at GS (to $34.99) and I wanted to snag one for myself (you know, to play ;)). I would be interested in finding out what it is and will certainly add it to the second post if it is a worthwhile flip, but I'm keeping this one so I don't care enough to call about it.
(However, should it turn out to be a good one, I see one other GS that might have one...).
Wow - so I'm reading the GS sale thread and it seems everyone was seeing huge crowds at GS Friday. And others have noted the Wii section, in particular, looked bare (Which was very obvious at the store I went to, along with the DS section - everything else was still pretty well stocked). So I'm guessing this $5 promo for Wii games was a good idea for them and they will actually welcome all the trades we can bring them. Seriously, there was almost nothing in the used Wii section at the store I was at. I've traded at least 20-30 Wii games there since the perfect storm in the summer, and I think every single one has sold .

I found 3 BB on the same road but about 10 miles apart from the first to the third. This is about to be the most massive flip I've ever done as long as Obilivion and Legendary hold another week. Is it just me or is bb the most unorganized place for used games. I wanted to buy 8 games, and they only actually had two of the games in stock. Then I went to another one brought 4 games up to the counter and they only had 1 of them in stock. Ugh I went to a blockbuster video in south bend, IN while I was home in michigan for christmas, because I found a legendary and grouped it in my B2G1 free games.
The awful bitch of a manager at that store refused to let me setup a trade agreement at that store since the address provided on the account was my wisconsin one, but since I just moved there a month ago, my drivers license was from michigan. Nevermind that the names match across account, card, and drivers license. Never mind that I gave her the address in the system before she told it to me. Never mind that there were no bans or notes on my account. Never mind that I created that account in wisconsin with my michigan drivers license.
What the fuck is with BBV employees treating customers like thieves? I was going to spend a bit of money in her store above and beyond the legendary trade, but I just walked out.

Local pawn shop laws may not allow it. Don't assume the employee wouldn't do it.

The BBV store employee told me that not all games are on sale. Only the ones marked with RENT IT or BUY IT sticker on it. Store has only one RENT IT or BUY IT sticker on one GTA4 and it has been rented out. The two in-store copies are for RENTAL only since it doesn't have the RENT IT or BUY IT sticker on it. Store employee said I must wait until that copy is returned from rental before I can buy it.
This is silly, isn't it?

Dynasty Warriors Gundam (360)-$28.50
I bought Endwar, Gundam, & PoP from GS to trade, & when the BB employee opened the Endwar case, the game was there ,but there was also a copy of Guitar Hero 3 (PS3). Score! Anyone know what the TIV is?

Think I'm going to try and find a manual for my Revo, or get something else. I hate incomplete games.I've seen lots of Revos around town so that shouldn't be too hard.
. . . I'd be happy with $5 or $6 out of it just as a free thing that came along with the 2 Motorstorms (paid $20.68 total for Arctic Tale and 2xMotorstorm).I'm pretty sure I posted a couple weeks ago when I traded in AT. I know it got more at BB than GS, but not by much. I'm pretty sure TIV @ GS was 6 and TIV @ BB was 7 at that time. Motorstorm is a serious bargain.
All the GS used sections are bare of games I want to keep or flip except for a few TCEWs at each store. I got TCEW, Far Cry2 and Ace Combat 6, but I may do a return to replace AC6 since it's cheaper and there are other 25ish games I want to match up with it. Wasn't debating trading in TCEW and FC2 since my backlog is so big, but after trying out FC2, that may be the next game I play. Very cool.

Ah man. Passed up on that because I didn't want to take the chance it didn't qualify. Hopefully I'll find something else to pair up with it later.
EDIT: Anyone know what Avatar:The Last Airbender gets for Wii? The last TIV was $2.50 but it costs more than Dave Mirra, so I would think it would qualify...

TIVs from 12-26 (GS > BBV):
:360:Endwar: 34.99 > 35
:360:DBZ Burst Limit: 26.99 > 22
:360:Dynasty Warriors Gundam: 34.99 > 28.50
:ps3:Endwar: 34.99 > 35
:ps3:DBZ Burst Limit: 26.99 > 22
:ps3:Warhawk: 24.99 > 23
Was planning to grab a ton of other games, but I hadn't planned on the after-Christmas rush. All the good games had already been taken, and all the shelves were a mess, making it impossible to find anything.

Out of curiosity to anyone experienced in such matters, how do you go about dealing with a ban? I haven't tried trading since the 18th except at one store, and my account was said to be frozen. Just got my younger brother into flipping and he stopped by our closest BBV while home for the holidays, and they said I was blocked from trading. It seems like it's either single store or district bans, but I didn't know how they went. Not going to go in there and blow the whole flipping thing of course, but kind of nervous on how to approach it.
And I guess they don't need confirming, but Legendary and Oblivion GOTY are still at $35 (both for 360), and Alone in the Dark: INFERNO (PS3) is still $30.
Edit: And what is up with some of these GS employees? They might just be swamped, but I called 3 different GS stores today that showed them having certain games in stock, they said they did in fact have them in stock, and then when I get there, they said they had no record of it, and knew for certain that they had not sold it in the 15 minutes it took to get from phone call to store.

gamestops were completely wiped, but on my last trip i found a stack of 3 endwars for 360 so bought them and flipped it at bbv. all bbv's were also wiped, so i went to one i havent touched, jackpot. tons of wii games and 3 table tennis's for the wii too. ended my first two days of flipping of investing 35, ended up with 180 store credit GS left, 15 left at bbv, a copy of gta iv, and the socom game with headset (both games free of charge)
took alot of time from both days, but def worth the 250 i made.
addition:::
Yea, gamestop employees are not the brightest bunch. Today I asked for PoP and Endwar used for either system and they said they didn't have any. They than recommended new because new is only 40 dollars, as opposed to 55 used. I than kindly told him he was wrong about his own promo, but he still didn't believe me. Actually, of the 5 working, 4 didn't know that used versions of these games were marked down to 35.

So does anybody have any advice on what to do with the PROMOTIONAL COPY DO NOT RESALE legendary disc I bought from gamestop yesterday? I bought another copy of legendary and I need to make a photocopy of it's game cover for my disc only copy, but I guess it's going to be ymmv as to how much the BB employee looks at the disc.

Thanks to everyone's help here in this thread. I used my copy of game informer to try to get the EDGE 10% since I left my card back at my place while I'm visiting the folks for Christmas. The first store couldn't find me in the system but went ahead and gave me the 10% anyway. I tried two other stores and one wouldn't do the look-up at all. The last one tried and again couldn't find me and I just said forget the 10% and did the trade.
Cost at BBV was $51.69 for 9 Wii games and a copy of GTA4 (PS3) for a friend. Flipped that into $103.20 credit at GS. Luckily I'm stocked up on games right now from previous runs to BBV, so I'll probably wait a bit before spending any of this credit.
EDIT: Looking at my receipt right now I noticed that Geometry Wars fetches $5, not $4.75 as it says at the beginning of the thread. At $6.99 at BBV, that's actually an amazing return.

I actually find that the GS and BBV employees in my hometown are far far far more intelligent that any where I live now. The employees near me are far less educated (ie, possible/probably high school dropouts) that have lots of impatience and little understanding of basic mathematical concepts (like pairing the B1G1 games to maximize savings). All the employees in my hometown seem to be really on the ball, and tend to be local college students. I wish all retail employees could be that way...

Traded in the following games to GS today:
Ninja Reflex (Wii) $5
Spiderwick Chronicles (Wii) $5
Meet the Robinsons (Wii) $5
Geometry Wars Galaxies (Wii) $5
Cars Mater National (Xbox360) $5.75
Assassin's Creed Altairs Chronicles (DS) $5
Lego Star Wars II (DS) $8
All Wii games fetched an extra $5 for this weekend only +10% Edge, and they were $9.99 B1G1Free at BBV (Except for Geometry Wars, that was $7 I bought with AS DS), I'd say they're pretty decent flips! I have about 5-6 more Wii games to sell back before tomorrow.
I also called GS afterwards about the TIV for Battle of the Bands (Wii), it is also $5 plus the bonus as well.

You cannot rely on the Gamestop Website's Gamefinder right now. Nothing was in stock that the website says was in stock today. Also a lady passed out at one of the GS's I was in. There was so many people in the store, that when she passed out...she was still standing up - sandwiched in the line between many, many people. I checked on her, she just overheated - but was ok. That store was soooo hot, I about passed out. Every time I looked to find a game sucked. All I saw that was in stock was the guy's ass standing in front of me!!!

I know this for a fact because I had the site up on my phone and had to make sure that the one copy of Oblivion GOTY Edition on Xbox 360 was actually there. I couldn't find Last Remnant even though the site stated it was at the stores I went in. Luck for me somebody traded in a Prince of Persia PS3 earlier today so I snagged it and was able to get the Limited Edition for Xbox 360 which was the only copy at another store.
I had a fun experience when I went to trade-in my disk only copy of Oblivion GOTY Edition Xbox 360 because the CSR looked up the game and quoted me for $9. I'm thinking that this was the regular edition instead of the GOTY so I didn't argue with them I just told them I would keep that one.
Here is what I traded in:
Prince of Persia PS3 $36
Endwar PS3 $36
Legendary PS3 $36
I still have another Endwar PS3 and hopefully can get rid of Oblivion GOTY Edition tomorrow for $35. I am sad because they put my credit on my account and they don't have any games at that location so I most likely will buy a 4000 MS Point Card and a 12 month Xbox Live card since my Gold Membership ends in August.

Guys, the Online In-Store Inventory Finder is updated every few days and should not be relied upon during regular business days, much less during the holidays. They're more of a guide to find out where to call and hold a game that you'd like. Don't use it to plan out your flipping agenda.
Also, Gamestops are getting absolutely swamped after Christmas, as I'm sure you all know. Shelves are getting decimated and people are snatching up pretty much everything. Considering that the big flippers that we're looking for are actually coveted titles (aside from Legendary), finding them will be more difficult without a phone call or two.

I am lucky for the fact that I have 3 Gamestops and 2 EBs that are less than 5 miles away from each other so I easily went from store to store especially since an EB & GS are located in the same mall. I actually had a good day once I let the crowds die down and got to laugh because the person who traded in the Limited Edition Prince of Persia Xbox 360 was an employee on staff tonight and told me how he beat it so quick which he stated to me it was pristine which it is.

Sorry for the double post, but how terrible is Battle of the Bands? Is it worth keeping a copy of at all? I'm also torn with FF RotSS - it's pristine since I bought it new and traded it $4-$30, and while it's funny to have one I rebought for $5 in credit, I kind of would rather have my $10.50 in GS credit.
Maybe I should just hold in to a mint case/manual from each and get them if I see any disc only copies I might miss between now and the next BOGO, when, hopefully, they'll be $4.99 sticker...

Wow, that reminds me that I haven't seen any of the FF:RoSS that I traded in for a while now. I'm glad they were able to sell them. I did buy one of my copies of Harry Potter (PS3) the other day, and a few copies of Alone in the Dark (Wii).
Sorry I couldn't provide you with any insight, I don't actually own a Wii. It makes me feel kind of awkward trading in all these games at a time.

Honestly? I say you keep trading that fodder back and forth until they start giving you money to keep it.
But if you really wanted to play it, then just play it now while you have it. Play it now, beat it, and then trade it in so you'll feel better. I can't imagine you'd want to keep it just because it's in pristine condition unless a) it's a good game, b) it's a rare game, or c) it's got sentimental value. I can't see any of those being the case.

Hey IO,

I posted the list in the GS thread. But basically it was a few of the $8 games - THPG, Spiderman Friend or Foe, Table Tennis, and Manhunt 2.

My kids played the Battle of the Bands I got from BBV. It is kind of fun - you shake the remote in different directions in time to music (Guitar Hero-like with notes scrolling down). It has licensed songs but they are all covers. However, there is a good reason for this. The hook for the game is that each song is done in several styles - country, rock, marching band, etc... So you can choose your band style and it plays the songs in that fashion while you battle another band with a different style. The music changes back and forth depending on how the players are doing. It is actually pretty cool. Hearing Blitzkrieg Bop with a country styling is pretty funny.
However, I would grab what you want NOW and now wait for anything. I went to 4 Blockbusters today - the first day it was easy to get around here since the very first day of B1G1. Not a single one had ANY WII GAMES whatsoever. It was incredibly disappointing and a huge waste of time except that I was able to get rid of the last 5 HWV games and the 2 leftover Wii games from my local BBV I didn't trade yesterday.
Every single copy of every game - even crap like Billy Broomsticks and Cocoto Racing were sold at every store. They had a handful of 360 games left - most of which were GTA IV. I found it pretty funny that I saw that everywhere (I could have bought 20 360 copies and 10 PS3 copies if I wanted) given the trouble some people are having in that other thread. However, I have come to one conclusion - the CAGs who yabber on about "attach rate" and how people buy Wii hardware but never buy games ARE FULL OF STINKING HORSECRAP. Regular people clearly went out in droves the last few days and bought up tons of Wii games, even the worst of the worst, at BBV and many of the ones that the GS stores had as well.
I stopped by my local store where I had passed on Ninjabread man, another Battle of the Bands, and several others just a few days ago and they were wiped out too except for one copy of No More Heroes and Bully. I bought those even though they are pretty crappy flips just because I was so frustrated with the overall experience. During the last B1G1 I could get great stuff for weeks. This is most definitely NOT a repeat of the perfect storm. It was over way too fast .
I also ended up buying 3 more sets of PS3/360 GTA IV. I'm not sure why except that that was all I could find at 3 of the 4 stores (the fourth didn't even have those). I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them as it will be hard even finding 360 games to add to them for the $5 deal that starts on the 5th. I did trade a 360 GTA IV to Gamecrazy yesterday and might do that with most of these as well.
However, I did throw in a PS3 GTA IV in with my HWV game trades and got $11 for it - WTF is up with the $9 quotes? Did it really just go up $2 today?
Anyway, very long and disappointing run today. I was able to get a few things at GS to trade back to BBV - mostly copies of End War although I finally found a lone copy of the mythical Legendary. I didn't make the best use of B2G1 on that, though, since I bought it with 2 End Wars.
Oh, and no problems with my account doing trades - so that was good I guess.
Oh, and for what it's worth (not much) Arctic Tale gets $4 at BBV and $2.50 at GS. I chose GS.

the BBV b1g1 is supposed to run thru 1/12. They started the sale early so I don't know if they plan on ending it early.
I asked a manager on Xmas (I just couldn't stay away) when the 3 for $20 for movies ended and he said on 1/5. I think the B1G1 may be ending that day as well unless they extend it like before.
So is this still alive?

Spent all day flipping with good results (besides the horrendous crowds at GS). Smash Court and Legendary (360) were still getting the posted value. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 netted 15 (ok after the B2G1, but should have gone with mercenaries instead). Got lucky and found a PoP (PS3) End War (PS3) and Far Cry 2 (360) at one GS to trade. At one point I had 250 BBV and 600 GS (that was after buying LBP, The Dark Knight (Blu-Ray), 360 Wireless Headset, Wii Classic Controller, Mario Kart, Two wii wheets, Rayman Raving Rabids, Ninja Gaiden 2, and a Wii charging station) but I picked up a 360 Pro, Gears of War 2, Devil May Cry 4, Play and Charge kit, 4000 Ms Points, and kept a Dead Rising/GTAIV combo pack.
Now I'm stiting at roughly 200 GS and 130 BBV while carrying a BBV to GS Flip.
Overall a pretty good haul so far and just want to say thanks again.

Psssht, a manager told me on Christmas Eve that it was over the Friday that just passed. They're all either liars or idiots.
I overheard two employees talking about how I wasn't allowed to trade, one kept making snide comments about me buying games to me directly, and apparently they thought that the vacuum drowned out the comments he was making to his coworker. I really wanted to just go over and tell him that if he was going to talk about me, he might want to either get a noisier vacuum or wait until I left the store. He also went on a swearing tirade about his coworkers...definite call-corporate material.
However, I did find out that the store accepts trades, still, but they were just lying to me about it. Time to get some recruits out there.

I am debating or not whether to go out tomorrow and make a GS to BBV flip because as you all know the B1G1 is pretty wiped out, and if I flip to BBV I will be left with credit there and not much at Gamestop.
So the question is, how often do opportunities like this come about for flipping, and when do you foresee the next available flip "season". I have never really shopped at Blockbuster, so I do not know how often they roll on deals like this. Their other prices do not attract my attention at all, and I couldn't find anything flip-able that wasn't on the B1G1.

I stopped by Blockbuster yesterday and got GTA IV brand new for $11.99. Anyone else find it?

Ah, IO, you sold me on BotB, I remember reading about it in Nintendo Power, but there's been a huge glut of music games lately and its been difficult sorting them all out. I'm definitely going to keep a copy of that...and I think I'll be flipping that FF: RotSS to GS.
I just wanted to fill in some holes in the OP; I didn't do any research regarding the GS trade in values, but I added BBV prices (and corrected Trauma Center to its proper title, assuming it was the first one released on the Wii console and not New Blood).
:wii: Battalion Wars 2 $14.99 -> $7
:wii: Ben 10 $14.99 -> $5
:wii: Dave Mirra BMX $9.99 -> $3
:wii: Sea Monsters $14.99 -> $7
:wii: Trauma Center: Second Opinion $14.99 -> $7

While in a BBV today one employee told me that the sale ended last weekend. She also had major problems me up in general so I didn't put too much stock into anything she said.
From the managers that I talked to throughout the day, most honestly didn't know when it ended, saying "Corporate will probably tell the day before, if not the day of."

IMO, GS credit is more valuable. Many CAGs suddenly found BBV credit to be more valuable because of the VV and other giftcards. Right now many of us are sitting on alot of GS credit due to the HWV $3.99 sale. Unless you are able to find more games to flip at BB, I say keep your GS credit. It's always been more valuable in the past.

Jumper for the Wii dropped to a $2 TIV at GS so it doesn't qualify for the bonus $5 on Wii games. If anyone has a copy, hold on to it until the Trade 3 extra $15 starts at GS. It may qualify then.
Also, has anyone played scarface on the wii? It was $15 but i bought it with :360: skate so it really cost me 7.50. It has a $8 TIV at GS. Don't know whether I should keep it or trade it in.

Posts like these really make me question whether I should even bother making posts asking for assistance...especially with a thread with over 150 pages...:booty:
When you don't even bother to read less than a page, then it becomes painfully obvious that you just want someone to answer your question without you doing any research at all.
Reading one page back would illustrate that people have been getting the deal today. If people are getting the deal today, then it's not dead, now is it?

After flirting with flipping over the past few days, today I decided to go balls deep and big today.
Ransacked most of the local to me BBVs remaining Wii games today, while they are extremely picked over for just about every system aside from PS2, there was still a surprising # of relatively high trade-in value ($7 or $8 base TIV before promos at GS) Wii games on hand. One BBV only had 4 total worth getting, while another had a dozen, and there was about 16 plus over the other two. No new values to report though.
Spent about $180 across the 4 BBVs and turned it into over $430 over 5 Gamestops. Sadly, I found nothing worth getting at any of the GS's game wise aside from biting on a new copy of Motorstorm Pacific Rift and paying off SF4 and RE5, but still have a lot of credit from the last two times Ive done this flip (in much smaller numbers) + what I gained today. Only one of the Gamestops was packed, but the others were pretty normal in terms of traffic. Had no waits to make trades whatsoever as the one that was packed I was in only to spend.
That was more fun than hassle! I'm looking forward to more, but in my neck of the woods, the BBV flip is pretty much kaput.

Oh, the economy of it is so much fun! When there are a lot of games flippable from GS to BBV, or no good flips either way, GS credit is infinitely more valuable. At a time like this, when you can buy 2 games for $9.99 at BBV that trade at GS for $22 or more, BBV credit is technically worth more since it can be used to build up more GS credit, and even if you're moving from GS to BBV at a 1:1 ratio, you'll still be able to double it when trading back to GameStop.
Oh, any word on price drops today putting new games into the BOGO range? I'm eying Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy.

As always as soon as I go wondering someone already has posted lol. I was wondering what RSV2 brings ($15 quoted on this page) and just like the the other GF deals we get to beat it and still make money. :) I've got my freshly finished Army of Two and Kane and Lynch both to go back today for $12+tax credits each it looks like.

Apparently, Monster Jam is available for 360 at Office Max for $9.99 after coupon for anybody looking to make a cash $10 --> $22 flip.

Well, using my little example of Arctic Tale: it also sells for $12.99 at GS and they gave $2.50 for it, making it $7.75 of course with Edge + $5 bonus. But then that's a huge difference from the $2.20 you'd get if it was just 50 cents less, which is certainly possible. At GS they adjust the base prices according to company-wide stock. On the plus side, I don't think they have a ton of those - I know I couldn't find any when it was a good flip to BBV. So the chances are it is at least $2.50 if not more - but I'd call to be safe.
Crap, completely forgot about Far Cry 2. Fortunately it looks like there weren't any in the direction I went today.
I may hit up a rural BBV and HWV tomorrow and see what's up there - not expecting much at either but you never know. I'll remind those that like to search HWV stores for the $3.99 games that they give $12 for GTA IV (I think both versions are the same). I saved mine for GC because of the 10% MVP boost, but since they may still be easy to get at BBV (from my experience today) it makes a decent transfer game.

Well, like I posted earlier there was virtually nothing available in the B1G1 bins at the 4 BBVs I went to tonight except for loads of GTA (more so for 360 than PS3, though I saw plenty of both). YMMV of course...
