you have to have the ad.

I heard the honor system works.

I got a 80GB PS3 from my Wal*Mart because I told them Best Buy had them for $129.99.

I pinky swore on it.

LOL someone at SD got their Meijer to PM the price AND the $25 GC times 2......

Eh, if they were smarter they'd go on Monday when they've got 15% off when you use your Meijer credit card. That rings up automatically, even on PM's because I've done it before.

Just got back from my local Walmart and they did price match. Paid 118 tax included. Night manager told me they couldn't match the $25 GC but I told here RB2 was all I was interested in anyways. Can post receipt if proof is needed since this is my 1st post, but, word of advise is that is you want to jump n this deal then the sooner the better.

ok, just got back from a chicagoland TRU, the price is LEGIT! Dont believe the nay sayers, I bought two of them the ps3 one and the xbox 360 one for 109+25GC. also if you buy a 2nd game you get $20 off.
damn it! i didn't think of that, i should have bought both on the same receipt, i bought one and came back in hoping to use the GC but it doesn't activate for 12 hours the guy said, he wouldn't even try it either.

I'll post up a receipt in a couple minutes.

I was told Meijer doesn't PM anymore as a store policy but they used to. I'm surprised they did that.

I'll post up a receipt in a couple minutes.

No manual adjustments? Just straight up 109?

How do they price match at Wal-Mart? Does the computer not take off after a certain amount, or is it just any manual price override the cashier puts in the system?

I had trouble getting Dead Space for $30. I remember the lady saying the computer wouldn't put it through, but I did it just fine at another location.

If its more than a certain percentage they have to get a manager to override. There is no "the computer won't put it through", she was BS'ing you.

100% correct. The electronics employee had to call the Night Manager back to the department to override the sale. If they say the computer won't put it through ask for another manager because they're BSing you.

I think you have to host on another site, like Imageshack, then you can use the links they provide to post here... (i.e., surrounded by IMG tags)

I couldn't get a copy of the ad to take home(it didn't come in the saturda paper so I have to wait until I get the sunday paper for the ad). but skimming through the ad, it looks like it runs all week. someone posted a scan of the ad earlier in the thread so you can double check.
just a heads up though, I bet you the ps3 instruements will work on the ps2 version as all the rock band 1 instruements work on both ps2 and ps3. so hopefully that means the same will be true for rock band 2. then you can just either the rock band 2 game on ebay and pick up the ps2 one once it comes out.

its actually another currently running promotion. I'm not sure if its specific to buying rock band 2 or any game in general. they had a game in the clearance bin a friend wanted so I picked that up, but now i'm kicking myself as I could bought the other rock band on that receipt and gotten 20 off instead of the $10 off on the clearance game. I was too excited that the deal was real that I got careless.

I saw that and asked the manager why I didn't get the 2nd GC. he said the computer only gives you one GC promotion per sale and it gives you the larger of the two automatically, so in this case the $25 not the $15 for buying two games. I dont know if he was lying or not but I decided not to argue as i was saving enough on the game anyway.

Well its a win win situation for anybody. If there's no RB2 in stock they don't need to leave empty handed without a gc. I just got to beware of the major ass that works in electronics. The guy hates my guts for no reason. Probably cuz I always bother them every week.

Scored one in San Jose, CA. In the Toys R Us that's in The Plant. There were already 4-5 guys checking out their bundles.
According to the manager there are still 3 left. That was around 12:15 am.
They didn't have right price in the system, but they know about it. So a manager had to override. They charged me $84.99 for the bundle and then $25 for the card. I had a 20% coupon I got in the mail, so my final price with taxes was: $98.62

According to the receipt I saved $122.00 :)

Well, I got it at WalMart for the 109 but without the GC, and since it seems to be a legit deal at TRU then looks like I will be heading to my local one for opening time, and returning the other one so I can get the GC to use towards GHWT game.

If your local TRU opens at 7am what time would you suggest getting there? If it helps I am in Phoenix and my local TRU is on I-10 and Ray rd.

mmm I'd say be there at 6, since Phoenix is a big city. But you already got it for $109, so are $25 worth of a few hours of sleep? Your choice.

But if you get there at 7, and there are already 10 people in line, you'll be lucky if you get one.

Well, except if you are getting a PS3 bundle. At least in my store they have a lot. People were buying the 360 version.

Ok, I hope this is indicative of most TRU locations, guess I will try to get there for the opening bell instead of trying to get there early. It also helps that it is raining out here and since we seem to get 10 days of rain a year, it scares everybody from going out! :D

The $109.99 price didn't come up at my TRU (Porter Ranch, CA) -- they said it wouldn't come into effect until 7 a.m. and they wouldn't/couldn't manually adjust for me because they said the ad specified a 7 a.m. start to the sale.

What they worked out for me instead was that I buy the bundle now at full price, get the $25 gift card (which was already ringing up automatically), and come back tomorrow for a price adjustment. The manager wrote a note on my receipt authorizing the price adjustment. Don't know why he couldn't just do it now but as long as everything works out, I'm not complaining.

I'm glad I got there on the dot at midnight because right after I made my purchase a mob of twentysomething guys rushed the store all looking for RB2.

Wow, I checked CAG around 11:50PM, read this thread for like 1 minute, and then hauled butt to the nearest TRU (in San Jose) to grab a bundle for the 360. The deal wasn't live yet, so the guy had to do an override. I apparently got too eager about the deal and didn't read about the $20 off a 2nd game thing... but I think I'll live :P Thanks so much OP! Edited to add: I think there were like 10 bundles (I can't remember if there were only 360 or both 360 or PS3) on the floor at Blossom Hill when I got there.

Here's how it went down. I went to the store in San Diego and there were already 5 kids lined up waiting for the 360 version. One of them had the ad in his hand. I asked him where he got the ad from and he told me that Toys R Us has them and will give it to you if you ask them. So went to the front desk and asked them for the specials. They handed me the ad, I pulled one Rock band 2: Special Edition box for the 360 and went to the electronic store checkout. The guy got suspicious after seeing all six of us lining up to buy the game and he said that its probably a typo, since the ad doesn't say save $80.00 So he sent an email out but didnt get a response back in like 10 mins. He then let us buy the special edition at $109.99 and also gave us the $25 gift card. But he said he will get an email soon and then the party will be over. So I suggest you guys to run as fast as you can to your local ToysRUs store and grab one as fast as you can. If not, my plan was to take the ad to walmart and to price match it, but since I got the gift card here, this was a better deal.

I just got back from the Mission Viejo, CA store. They gave me the promo price and just deducted the gift card amount from the purchase. Got it for $91.58.

You're lucky. That's hot!

One nice thing I forgot to add: the guy at the video game department grabbed a special gift card, probably the promo one with the expiration date. He had a girl at an outside register ring me up and she didn't know how to activate that particular card for whatever reason. She ended up using a regular gift card instead. Now I'm free to use the credit when I want!

Just got back and from the looks of it from what the employees there are thinking it is a price mistake that they are honoring until they get notice tomorrow from corporate which they have already sent out emails about this sale that is not in their system. They didn't have any PS3 versions =( but they did have plenty of Xbox 360 versions for everyone that was there (around 8 of us). Apparently the one PS3 version they had was picked up at 12:01am by someone waiting there since 9pm (PST). Hopefully I can exchange this, otherwise I'm just going to have to return it.

Ok i just came back from the Elk Grove TRU. As soon as I got there a couple of people had taken a bunch of RB 2 bundles but luckily for me they let me get a 360 bundle. The store didn't do any price adjusts and the manager said we would have to come back sometime after 3 am. I was able to get the $25 gift card. Hopefully I will get a price adjust later today.

Thanks to the Op for this, just came back with my PS3 version! At first the dude there tried to scan and it came up as $189 and I said I saw it online here and I was going to look up the ad on my phone but he found a copy of today's ad and sure enough it was on the back page:) So the manager came and did a manual price cut and I got my $25 gift card as well. Thanks again

I was able to get them, also. The manager knew it was a mistake. He knew we knew it was a mistake. However, he "took care of us," so we were able to get it. This was in the Mission Bay, San Diego location.

He said he would stop when he received corporate notice. Good luck to the others. We were able to PM at a local Walmart as well.

Just got back from the TRU at Riverside, CA and snagged two 360 bundles :D Looks like they just started the midnight open hours this weekend. They rang up at the advertised price in the store so I didn't need to fuss with any price adjustments. The store still had maybe a half dozen 360 ones and a handful of ps3 so pick it up fast if you want one :)

Thanks OP for the deal! I just got mines in San Jose, CA at the Almaden one. The sale looks pretty legit to me. It scanned perfectly without needing to do any special override.

They had all version of Rock Band 2 there fully stocked. I think they had about 10 of each stocked on the floor alone. There was even a "clearance" tag placed atop the boxes. So it looks pretty legit the way they were advertising it in store.

Yeah it was me if it was the HB, CA one. I wish they still had the one open in Costa Mesa, but no matter. I might just price-match at Walmart for 109 when I get the printed ad, if I'm able, but that will remain to be seen.

I got the best Rock Band Deal ever:

Here's the story. I go in around 12:30am asking about the price on RB2, the young lady checks it and says its $189.99. I tell her I just saw the ad online and there's a special. She calls the manager to verify and she says it's wrong but she'll honor until corporate says anything. So she puts in the price adjustment and walks away. The young lady tells me the total is $32.46. I was like what?! I believe that's wrong. She's insists that's right and even asks if I want the others. I pass and as I'm leaving the exit I see a few more people run towards the vdeo games. I check the receipt and it looks like the promo kicked in with the price adjustment.

You might want to try the Cerritos TRU early in the morning--iirc I heard someone mention that the Cerritos TRU had some but weren't going to sell anymore at the sale price until the next morning (in the SD thread). Or, Walmart would work too.

I used the 20% off coupon which was mailed to me and got the 2 sets for $214.31 total after tax and a $50 GC. They ran out of the PS3 version, but had about 20+ of the Xbox 360 left. Might wanna drop by there if you're in the LA area. It's open 24 hours.

All my DLC is for the PS3 and I have a friend that I could just give my current Rockband SE to that owns a PS3 so it would just be an upgrade for me really and not to mention I would just download all the RB1 songs by paying the fee then send it all over to my friend.

Cerritos is a bit far for my tastes, but thanks for the suggestion, and if this is indeed a "legit" deal I'll probably forgo Walmart and just buy it online to store at Best buy then do a price adjustment for the sale and the difference and may even get a GC too we shall see though.

The way that the manager was saying was that they think that the marketing/advertisement people made a mistake and that they were going to honor it until they sold out. It might be legit though so we'll have to find out about that in the morning. I also inquired if we can swap the 360 RB2 for the PS3 version.

If the $109 price does turn out to be legit then I'm pretty sure you can swap it for the other version (as long as they have it in stock during that week of sale). But if the price is wrong and they get a call from corporate later today, then it's doubtful since the price of the one that you got and the current price wouldn't be the same.

Trust me they don't like you doing that, and they want you to leave the store then price match it later. Since I work next to a best buy it is no big thing for me to swing in later in the week to get the adjustment but as I said we shall see. Getting ready to head out and give this a shot at my local TRU. If I'm shot down I'll try a pm at BB.

How does the price match work at BB. When I check online they specify the following which lends me to believe they will only match their own price if it goes on sale.
BestBuy.com Price Matching/Price Guarantee
http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/global/misc/spacer.gif
If you've made a BestBuy.com purchase and discover a lower price offered on our Web site or at a Best Buy store on the same available brand and model, let us know and we'll match that price on the spot, tax included.

Exclusions:
The BestBuy.com Price Guarantee does not apply to competitors' offers; third-party offers; online auction sites; shipping charges; clearance, Outlet Center and open-box items (when price matching with a Best Buy store); items for sale November 27th through 29th, 2008; special offers or promotions such as mail-in incentives, gift-with-purchase and financing offers; services such as installation; or typographical errors. Best Buy stores in Puerto Rico have their own price match policy

Wanderlai

Well I know it YMMV on pming at BB but the one I go to almost always pms deals from other franchises. They always pm the TRU B2G1F sales, and other stores mistakes. I just get what I want and go to the customer service desk for the pm. "My" BB also takes the GC price off the pm instead of giving me a BB GC.

Well I have not had a problem with doing so myself, however it might be YMMV. I am just a very nice guy and I tend to get away with a few things.

If I am unable to get the pricematch initially I might have to do some work. It has happened to me once, it is a pain to do so but you can work around the system if need be. First you order it online for in store pick up. Then you go to CS and present them with flyer with lower advertised price. If they do not honor the pricematch just return said item then and there and just rebuy at the store.

Generally they have a few items on hand that you can just pick up and take with you (with RB2 SE it might be more difficult). After that their normal pricematching is valid and you can just do it there at checkout in store. I've had only one problem and that was with a CC ad and that was only because the cashier was told not to take them because they are closing, but I was calm and said "Really? I hadn't heard," and once she asked her manager about it they stated it is okay since it is not a closeout deal and just an advertised special.

All and all, I would say this route is my last choice. I would rather get the deal at the proper store and at the time offered. However, if I feel it is necessary I take this alternate route.

I would believe that sales rep if they had to manually do a price adjustment. The $80 off automatically pops up when they ring it up. And it specifically says Rock Band 2 promo -$80.00. But hey, maybe I'm wrong here

I just came back from Toys-r-us and I can confirm that this deal is 100% real! The first one I went to was sold out of Xbox 360 version. I had to go to another one that's 1 hour away from my house. The second one was full of RB2 bundle for both system. I did not have any of the 20%/$10 off coupons, so I paid $120 total.

I do not know if it was a price mistake or not, but both of the ones I went to did not say anything about it and honored the ad. I recommend that you go there as early as possible to get it before something happens.

Hey I was there too, tall guy wearing a blue sweater. Anyways I stayed a lil bit longer to ask the asst. manager about swapping the 360 one for the ps3 when they get more in stock, and she said no cause she feels that it was a typo in there ad, but if it wasn't then they will. I didn't want to take any chances on that so I had them call up Cerritos TRU and they had one ps3 version left, so since I nothing else to do I flew down and swapped the 360 for the ps3 with no problem. Also I think it's legit cause when they scanned it, it popped up in there system as 189.99-80.00 without having to punch anything in.

Yeah, I just called the one in Cerritos.. the lady was nice enough to tell me they are going to get more PS3 versions at 7am and that they'll swap the 360 one I got for a PS3 one.. Just hope its not all gone by the time I get there..

Successful price match at south Austin TX Wal-Mart. Waited for the sunday papers to show and marched the ad straight back to electronics. Didn't bother haggling for the gift card since I felt dirty enough as it was. Interest was high among several employees who ended up hovering around the register as I got rung up.

Oh, and they had lots of PS3 left but only 1 or 2 xbox 360

No they will not. I can confirm this because I went there tonight for the price match. They honored the $109 price, but refused to do the gift card.

I went to Douglaston, NY TRU where I was maybe one of three people who got there at opening. I picked up my 360 RB2 kit while the other three people were busy loading up the rest into their carts. Not sure how many they bought/took but I heard one of them say to the other one "let's take them all" in Korean (I'm Korean as well). I saw about 10 of each bundle when I got there, but did not see how many were left.

BETTER HURRY NY CAGers!

They also had about 10 Wii Fit's in stock and a lot of PS3's and Wii's if anyone is looking for one.

Too bad for them its 1 per customer, unless the store is super nice and let's them just repurchase them as different purchases.

Got mine just now, 6 in stock for PS3 and 360 each, and everyone else was gunning for Wiis.

I just got back from the Canton Ohio TRU. There was a crowd of about 10 people waiting as it opened maybe and as they opened, everyone went straight for the video game section. I was in no hurry and figured I wasn't going to be fighting for the PS3 bundle and there ended up being one guy who got the 360 one and everyone else was buying Wiis except one lady got a PS2. It came out to $116.xx after tax and the gift card was immediately activated as well if I wanted to use it for another purchase.

There was a stack of about 20 bundles, probably 12-8 for PS3 compared to 360.

I liked playing RB1 the time I tried it and figured I wouldn't mind someday getting RB2 when it dropped in price. I didn't expect to get it this cheap this soon though. Actually, this is a Christmas gift to myself as my mom wanted me to pick something I wanted as I really couldn't decide what I wanted her to get me for Christmas so that is definitely the first time I've gone to a store right when it opened to do someone else's shopping!

Also, I knew the cashier and he said that this was an amazing deal and loved the game.

The deal is real! Holy crap! I just got one at a 24 hour TRU! Receipt shows $189.99 - 80.00 = TOTAL $109.99 AND the $25 gift card!

If you have a 24 hour store near you, GO NOW! These will sell out by 10am, I can almost guarantee it!

The cashier was super nice about it too! He was shocked at how much it was too! That cashier was so nice, I'm actually going to give him the highest marks on the customer service surveys.

Oh, one other thing, they had all bundles next to the GHWT bundles and those bundles were listed at $189 but there was no price over the Rock Band 2 bundles. If someone didn't know about the sale, they probably wouldn't have thought anything of it so that could help out anyone who couldn't get there right away as they might not be going as fast without the price listed.

The deal is 100% real, just snagged it this morning. Listen to Ralph Wiggum: this deal is on and poppin'. =)

If anyone here's in the area around Newington, NH, that store (near the Fox Run Mall) still has a stack of about 15 for PS3 and XBox 360 left (15 of each), stacked right at the entrance to the electronics section. There's no price listed on it (like a sign saying what the price for it is or anything), but if you bring it over to the electronics counter it rings up at 109.99 and the guy hands you the 25$ gift card just as advertised. Contrary to what I thought would happen, no one was beating down the doors for it The only other two customers in the store when I came in at 7am were looking for a Wii.

Ok, just got back from a Walmart AND Toys R Us, here are my results:

Success x2 (Walmart AND Toys R Us)

Thanks to numerous posters, I managed to go to both stores at 24/7 locations. Most recent poster reminding of the 24/7 TRU locations [only on weekends]:

Not all of them, just a couple TRUs. You can check to see if your TRU is open: http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.js...goryId=3088671

I live in Houston, Tx. Northwest area. 1960/249 area (which is approximately where the 24/7 TRU on weekends was located).

Walmart:I went to a Walmart FIRST, simply because it was closer, and to hear first hand from a worker their Price Match policy (phsyical ad, no giftcards, no % off). The second visit to Walmart was after TRU, which was a different location but right next to TRU.

I opted to go straight to a customer service representitive to ask if they honored the ad at all. It seems to skip a few steps, though in the middle of the day, it may be hard to contact one.
You must have physical ad. I tried to insist the ad was on the main TRU online site, but they refused to even look at it. I left for a TRU to pick up the ad and pick up the 360 version for a friend (visit in next section), before returning to another Walmart location.
They do not honor the giftcard at all. So you'll be looking at strictly the $109.99 price in the ad.
Once I had the ad and acknowledged I wouldn't get the giftcard, they put up little to no hassle. Surprised at the discount, yeah, but the workers did nothing more than verify the item being purchased and the one in the ad were the same.
I walked out with Rock Band 2 Bundle for PS3 for $119.06 with tax calculated.

Toys 'R Us: I went to TRU in between the two Walmart visits. I'll explain why I had to do so in the final section.

Open since 7am Friday morning. I didn't think they were really open this early, but they assured me they have in fact been open since 7am Friday morning.
Zero hassle, and was well aware of the deal (even full aware of its price relative to RB1). They honored the deal without blinking. The guy over the counter wasn't overly smug about me taking advantage of a deal that is essentially a missprint, he wasn't winking, he didn't even sound surprised about the huge savings (all this kinda gave me the feeling that he thought it wasn't a missprint. Maybe it wasn't?). Instead, he was quite enthusiastic about it all as he rang up my giftcard. Nevermind the fact that a sign across from the counter said "Rock Band 1 Bundle for $130" with --no giftcard--, he made me feel like this was the best marketing scheme ever.
Gift Card takes 12 hours to activate, so you can't really buy two consecutive bundles to get an instant $25 off one. Best you can do is buy one now to use the gift card on the other just before they close. Hope it works out for you and that they still have the correct bundle for you available by then ;).
He did worry me about potentially limited supply, however. I asked him how many were left in back, and he didn't sound to confident about the great numbers, and that I may have gotten the last RB2 XBox 360 bundle from the store.
They have a fresh supply of Wiis if you know someone who needs one today, by the way :). Just thought I'd share.

Why I bought from two locations (PS3 bundle from Walmart, XBox 360 from TRU):
XBox 360 copy is for a friend. He couldn't make it out tonight, so he'll be paying me back sometime during the week. Wouldn't have bought from TRU if he wasn't paying back immediately because I can't afford to carry another $100+ on my credit card right now. Such is why I got the PS3 bundle--which I'm *gifting*--from Walmart: I had $100+ in walmart giftcards which I never spent. I spent only $12 cash for the PS3 bundle =D.

I did not bother with Best Buy.
It didn't even have anything to do with them not being open this early. The Best Buys in my area are just too dang smart to honor that deal in any form. I'm almost certain the store would be losing money on that sale, so they would have me wait around for 20 minutes just to tell me "no". I couldn't even get $20 off Mario Galaxy (where I did wait around 3 stores for each one of their managers to tell me "no" after 20 minutes), let alone *think* of getting $80 off a $190 item, when it's clearly a misprint or oversight.

Get to TRU asap, I recommend
This mostly applies to West Coast CAGers, I'm sure everyone else would have checked with TRU whether they're open 24/7 or not). While the worker sounded very enthusiastic about the deal, I'm still convinced it could be a deal pulled off at any time (though that could be considered illegal as a bait-and-switch), or at least be canceled when supplies last (which didn't sound like very long).

Good luck! I will update with a photo if so desired, or at least to highlight the post more.

Let me tell you about my experience at my TRU this morning. Arrived at the store at 6:46 a.m. and there was a line of about 7 grandparents searching for a Wii that management promised them will be there this morning. I am apparently the only one in line for RB2. I get told that RB2 was pulled off the sheleves because they were told not to sell it until 12/23!! WTF! Being my degree is in Psychology I calmy made the case that this is Bull$h^t and they better sell the game. After about 40 minutes of dealing with management I got the game and GC. Oh and btw, THERE WERE NO Wiis. F^ckin' TRU Liars.

I (and the 7 Grandparents) formed an impromptu "club" and are going to report this to corporate. The customer service is piss poor at the store I went to. The games clerk look like he was high from the night before, and was 20 minutes late getting to the store to deal with us. The shift manager was too busy nursing her Mcmuffin meal and stale coffee to really care about our issues. If it were not for saving an incredible $80 on this game I would have not put up with that crap.

So you'll be looking at strictly the $109.99 price in the ad. For future reference, they also do not honor "__% off" deals for Price Matching.

Great info! I had no problems with the CS/Sale reps when I asked for the RB2 Bundle. It went very smooth and hassle-free.

I read in the ad that you can not use the giftcard when you purchase the Bundle, so I did not try that at all. I am just wondering does anyone know how would I activate the giftcard?

Bendu, they said the gift card "activates automatically" 12 hours from purchase.

I don't know how they do it, maybe it's some special timer in their central repository of gift card info.

Anyways, it should work 12 hours from now.

I have to admit, I almost felt guilty buying it, it was such a good deal.

Either they're losing a lot on it, or the markup to MSRP from wholesale must be significant.

Also Brother Bendu, it'll automatically activate in 12 hours. You shouldn't have to do anything to activate it if that helps! =)

Man, 5:17 am here and I'm still up. I'm tempted to run out at 7 to get a PS3 bundle. Then I'll have it for 360 and PS3 which seems kind of silly, but this just seems too good to pass up .

Problem is the TRU is 20 miles away or so, making it not a quick and easy thing to be sure. And it might snow soon...

I have a friend who wants the 360 bundle too so if possible I'd get both (though certainly I'd bail on the 360 one if they limit to 1 per person).

Hmmm... Decisions, decisions... I'm just wondering how likely these things will last till noon or so when it would be much easier for me to go out after a bit of sleep.

I would not wait for too long. Remember that both Highschool and College students are on Vacation. I went to the first TRU at 3:50 am and even though there was no one inside, they were sold out of RB2 for the Xbox 360. They had a few left for PS3 and a bunch for the Wii. Well, if I go right now I'll be waiting in the cold for an hour. I don't think that is necessary ;). Also, high school students are most definitely not on vacation around here (another week to go, actually) though I don't think that makes too much difference on a sale that is happening Sunday AM. (And besides, I wouldn't expect to see many young people there first thing regardless of the time of year - my experience with these types of sales is that older people/resellers are the ones waiting for stores to open).

My hesitation is over whether I really need to get this or is it just that I feel like I have to go so I don't miss a great deal. I already have RB2 + RB2 drums for the 360 (use the GH guitars when playing, though) and would just be getting the PS3 version for the system I got the family for Christmas. Most likely that will be set up in a different room so my son could play it there. Eventually the 360 will probably go there too (since it is with our new TV which is much better). But, man, do I really need yet another set of plastic instruments? I already have 2 sets of drums (RB2, GHWT), 2 360 guitars, and have already bought 2 PS3 guitars (the GH:Aerosmith and GH III bundles from Best Buy for $30 and $40, respectively). We didn't have GH:A for 360 so that, at least, is a new thing for my son to do and I got the GH III bundle to have a second guitar to play with him...

I guess I do have a minor question that may effect my decision. Can the GH guitars be used for RB2 on the PS3? I know they can ('cause I do it) on the 360, but I thought I heard it was different on the PS3. Because if we can't play guitar/bass together using one of the GH III guitars then getting the RB2 bundle for the PS3 makes less sense.

If it was just the $109 sale price I'd probably have no problem skipping it. But they had to throw that damn $25 gift card in as well...

Score!

Two 360 sets; one for me to keep, the other to exchange next week when the Wii version comes in. As almost an afterthought, I bought a Wii...sadly paying full retail...

@ flatliner: No kidding, it was the same at my BB, too. Everyone (40-50 ppl) wanted a wii or wii fit.

I picked up 5 bundles at BB (wasn't even half their stock), and though I wasn't able to get the gift card PMed (manager looked leery about the possibility and I didn't push the issue), the price PMing was easy as pie.

I also snagged one at TRU, and 2 at Wal-Mart.

All good at the Cedar Park Texas TRU location. Got there around 6:45 and waited for the store to open at 7:00. There was only one other person there who was planning on getting RB2 for Xbox 360 and PS3. I had the ad in hand in case there were issues but it was all gravy.

I guess at that store the management wouldn't let the other guy get the PS3 version as well. Cashier said that it was a limit of one per customer which I thought was odd since he wasn't getting two versions for the same system but ah well. They had to get them from the back so I don't know how many were left. When I was putting my RB2 in the car someone else was walking out with a PS3 RB2 set and another person with a Wii so looks like they may have a decent stock of everything.

Thanks everyone, time to rock out!

Bought in Rockville, MD as advertised.

Was talking to the sales clerk and he said these things had been sitting in the store for months and nobody was buying them. Also still had Wiis in stock around 8 AM. I was the only one there buying RB2 at the time.

Got my PS3 version at Oak View Mall in Omaha....plenty PS3 versions left....only 4 360 versions left when I walked out.

Sweet.....by far the best deal of the week....unless Amazon does something crazy later in the week.

(Re: joshjoshwhite) Unless you are being very generous with the Christmas gifts, I'm not sure what the point of buying tons of these is. There can't be too much resale value in them - or at least not enough to make all that hassle worth it (especially if you don't get the $25 GC with it).

Amazing Deal. I can't believe it wasn't a ad error. Store in Gaithersburg, MD wouldn't allow more than one purchase per customer. Had to drive to Rockville to pick one up for my nephews Xmas gift. It looked like they only had 2 more PS3 versions in stock at that store.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm leaning towards not going out even though I could leave here in about 20 minutes and get there when they open. I am in my office which is where we keep the two 360 drum sets (RB2, GHWT) and realized I really, really don't need another set of plastic drums. At some point these things will go on clearance/sale like the RB1 set has and if my son is still that interested I'll get it then. I mean, it's hardly like he's deprived with all the 360 stuff we have (and the PS3 GH:A/GHIII sets I got yesterday). So, now, I can get some sleep. I'll probably try to be up around 10 or 11 and call to see if they have any - if, by some chance, they do, then I'll go get one probably.

I know what you mean, at that price I'm beating myself up. I don't know if I'll play it much but for $109 + $25 GC it's hard to say no. Plus I have a $50 gift card already, idk if I can use that in combination with cash on this deal but if I can that might push me over the fence and just get this.

This is confirmed by me as well. TRU in Toms River, NJ on Hooper Avenue had at least 5 XB360 boxes at 8:30 AM.

Walmart will price match at $109 after calling a manager over, but will not match or issue a $25 gift card.

Such an incredible deal. They had 10 360's in stock, 2 PS3's. I bought the 360 one. ZERO line. Zero people in the store.

I just got back and there were no issues with the price. It rang up $109 right away. I got there a few minutes after the doors opened and there were only two 360 bundles left. There was a guy there who I think was about to buy both of the 360 bundles and asked me if I wanted one, I said yes and grabbed one and he grabbed the other. They had about 4 - 6 PS3 bundles, but like I said, only 2 for the 360. CAG has been VERY nice to me this Christmas season. Thank you very much to the OP for bringing this deal to my attention!:applause::applause::applause:
Yeah, as Vthornheart said, it takes 12 hours to activate. I think they learned well from past mishaps. I forgot to put that in my post...which I'll be adding now.
I was able to use my gift card right away. I picked up a PS2 game and a Raving Rabbid figure with the card only a few minutes after I got it.8-)

Got the PS3 version at 5:30am at Toys R Us. The guy that was working was absultley clueless about everything. First he was trying to sell Rock Band drum kit, then the Rock Band 1. I had to show him where Rock Band 2 was. Second he said it was for 360 only, until I should him the freakin ad that it was for PS3 as well. In the end I got the deal up in Santa Rosa, CA. There was 1 Rock Band 2 for the PS3 left and 2 to 3 for the 360.

FYI

Just picked up the 360 version at the Madison Heights, MI store. Around 9:30 there were still 9 360 boxes and 8 PS3 boxes. I was shocked.

Also, the gift card activates 12 hours after purchase and is good through 1/31/09.

If there are any Maine CAGs up in here, the Bangor TRU had 10 copies for 360 and well over 20 for ps3! That was when I left the store at around 9am or so.

They do NOT limit you to 1 copy either AND you get a $25 gift card for each copy you buy. I snagged 2 360 versions, 1 for me and 1 to a lucky family member, and walked out with a $50 gift card as well. This is definitely deal of the year stuff in my book

Went to Monroeville, PA TRU, grabbed an ad. They had maybe 7 of the 360 boxes on the floor with a "SALE: 109.99 - $80 off" sign on the stack. I really wanted to use my store card so I went to Circuit City to price match. They would match the price but not the GC. Went to best buy and the guy took the $25 off the price. So $85 ($90.94 with PA Tax) plus reward zone pts and 90 days same as cash on my best buy card.

GREAT DEAL!!:bouncy::bouncy:

One addition to the deal: there's another promotion concerning buying 360 or ps3 game above 40 bucks at the same week

I hope those people weren't trying to spread disinformation to fool others, I really do.
