Does anyone else have a game buying addiction?

Not really. I mean, if I see a good game and I know I'll play it, I buy it. I don't just buy things just for the sake of having to buy it.

Not an addiction yet, mainly because I don't have alot of extra money to spend lately.

It would be pointless to count the number of games I have bought and still not had time to play. I'm not talking about games you buy for cheap, in hopes of trading or selling on EBay either. Game buying addiction, YES!

For games, yep, but only if they are ~$15 or less ($10 is a must buy usually)....and lately thats been a lot of games.

The site and the deals only help to support it...

Who here bought that Mary-Kate and Alshley game at the Best Buy $5 sale because it was $5? If you did, that's when you know your an addict.

If they're cheap...hell yes. I just bought a copy of Muppet Pinball for my GBA for two reasons:

-It was cheap ($10 used)
-It's a pinball game

I have a minor addiction to virtual pinball, possibly because there aren't very many (any?) real machines in the area. That would be my third GBA pinball game, fourth if you count the original Pokémon Pinball. And I still haven't gotten the sequel to it, so that four will become five eventually...

I'm the same as everyone else here. If the game is cheap, I'll get it. It's been getting easier and easier to find cheap games for my GBA and PC. Maybe it would have been better for me if I had never found the site...I'd sure as hell have more money right now. :)

Definitely. And this site is a huge contributor to my delinquency.

I wouldn't say that its an addiction for me. I've always managed to spend relative to my current income. If I have alot of money lying around I buy more games. Learning how to save money is my real problem. If I didn't spend it on games I would just spend it on something else.

I definately used to. But it seems to have toned down in the last couple of years.

Usually I'll buy a game if it's 10 bucks or less no matter how shitty the game may be.

Yes. and no. Yes, if it's $10 or less, and / or offered for a limited time. No, if it's a universal price drop or will be available for a long time. Unless, of course, I really have been wanting it, or I've beaten / mastered / got tired of every game of its type that I have, and I'm craving something new.

I used to be much worse than I am now. It used to be, if a game was $10 or less, I would automatically buy it if I had even the slightest of slight interest in it. Now I've got a huge collection of crappy PC games in my basement, collecting dust, many unplayed. I could have probably financed my education with the money I spent on those. I suppose part of it was the fact that I got my first modern computer, and until then, my only gaming options were the expensive NES and SNES cartridges. Suddenly I have access to all these games with better graphics than both, at a fraction of the price. If I tried that today, I'd have spent even more. Nowadays, I've played enough games to know what I like, AND I read reviews. I still buy a lot of games, but at least now I actually PLAY them. I'm still a sucker for bargains. I did buy the badly reviewed Enter the Matrix at BB for $5, and I also bought Medabots, which I know nothing about, for $5 at the CC sale.

I did. It didn't matter really if the game was good or not, if it was cheap, I bought it. I am now a broke college kid, however, so I buy nothing. I went from one extreme to the other.

For me this site hasn't saved me any money. Ive just gotten more for the same amount of money, but that is still good.

actually this site has caused the opposite effect on me than everyone else...

instead of it making me buy alot of games, it's made me rethink how much i'm willing to pay for a video game...

its practically caused me to think that $19.99 is too much to pay for a game.

i hadn't bought a game all year (i have like 60 games that i want to buy written down), then me and a few ppl on Socom decided we'd start playing Norath, so i went out and bought it for $19.99...

I agree with you there - I think $50 is kind of obscene for most games. I plan on waiting until a GH/PH/PC lable for pretty much any game, as long as a price cut is in the foreseeable future (within a year). However, I've been buying games like crazy since I've become a CAG. I have games now that I would have never bought before. In some cases, like La Pucelle and Disgaea, that's a good thing.
