To be fair, Prince of Persia is a great game, but it's not a AAA shooter which will fly off the shelves. That being said, I too realised I had a backlog of a couple of games and I wouldn't be able to get to this for a while, so I decided to cancel my order. Just in time too, since I got on that Tales of Vesperia deal for a present and they already made it so I can't cancel less than five minutes after I placed the order.

the storyline really makes you get attached/protect the girl.

I ordered R-Type Command for the PSP last week at $9.59 from amazon. (It was down to 9.99 and was in my gold box) It came packaged with the ship figurine that I think was only supposed to be a perorder...I guess you never know.

For those debating. Seriously, wait. You KNOW it will eventually go much cheaper. They ALL do. Especially these no multi, no much replay type of games. It is a good game for sure for what it is, but why pay $40. Doesn't $19.99 sound better? Think of all the games you got recently for that price or lower that haven't even been out 6 months.

Wait and you will be rewarded. Other CAG'ers have your back and when this hits at $29 or $19.99 you will know and then you can get your copy. In the mean time actually go and PLAY some of those other games you have piled up. Remember $10 saved here and save there ends up getting you more games down the road. Trust a gamer who is nearly 50 years old, you will have time to play all these great games and the prices only get cheaper. Wait. It will still play just as good in a month or two as it does today.

I still don't understand why this game is so overrated. The game play and battle system is repetitive and boring. The game piratically plays itself. The graphics are nice but that's about all I can say for this game. The three POP on the PS2 are better than this.

It's pretty easy because everything is automatic. Don't overcomplicate things.

For example, I climb up a pillar and see rings on the ceiling. You press A (360) to run across the ceiling. Get to the first ring and press B to swing on that ring. Between that ring and the next ring is more ceiling to run on? Most logical thing to do? Press A again, right? WRONG. It automatically runs after you swing on a ring, so all you have to do is press B when you get to the next ring. Pressing A will make you drop from the ceiling and/or jump off.

Combat has a rhythm to it that makes you feel good if you can get it just right. And that can be said about the whole game. If you can nail everything, that's more rewarding than falling all the time. I don't mind the platforming being the same, they change it up a bit when you get powers like running up walls (instead of across), limited flying, etc. I like wandering the desert and corrupted areas like it were Shadow of the Colossus, but mann some more enemies would be nice.

All in all, $40 is a fine price. $30 is the sweet spot if you don't particularly care about the art and optional story.

I think it was Gamestop. You get the Prince and Farah from Sands of Time. You can also go into the in-game Ubisoft store to get the Altair skin from Assassin's Creed for free.

I also heard that another Ubisoft game character by beating the game, which is Jade from Beyond Good & Evil. But there's one more slot each for the Prince and Elika that I haven't figured out yet.

What do you think is the percentage of games that can be beaten in less than 7 days? One would say that any game can be beaten in less than 7 days depending on how much you play it. The fact that "most gamers" would want to stick with a game long enough to beat it in under a week (and the reviews) tells me that it's a must-buy.

Here's a quick fix: Every time you "die," just reset your console. That will give you the black screen you're looking for, and waiting even longer for the reboot is an even bigger punishment for dying! :P

I can maybe understand some people's complaints about the game being fairly easy overall, but complaining about the lack of a Game Over screen—when you would just hit a few buttons to reload from a checkpoint anyway—is just foolish.

That said, I really, really want this game, and I'm trying to rationalize a $40 purchase but I really can't right now. I don't even want to spend less—I think the game deserves as many sales as it can get because it looks stunning.
