I just bought Mass Effect and Gears of War 1 on Amazon last week used. Both games happen to be from the same company who has a 97 percent approval rating. The Mass Effect game has a crack in the middle and the rest of the disk is scratched beyond belief. The Gears of War 1 game has very fine scratches all over the disk. Neither game lasts for more than 5 minutes when trying to play. All I get is that this game is unreadable please clean and I am playing on a brand new Xbox 360.

My question is that do these companies check their games out to make sure that they are working? Both games were listed as Used and Like New and Very good for the conditions. I would just think that a company would look at the disk and attempt to have the game played before selling it. It's unexcusable to me that they sold off a game as being in Used-Very Good condition that had a crack in the game.

It may not be a company, a lot of times it's individuals who sell (like myself.) that said, it sounds like they screwed up and didn't test/check the game before it shipped. They'll probably give you a refund if you email them...

Yeah you'd have to email the individual and get a refund. If they refuse that, use Amazon's A-to-Z guarantee and you'll get your money back no problem. Amazon always sides with the buyer in these situations.

Yeah private seller. I am selling more and more on there, but like everywhere else I run 100% positive.

Amazon will side with you, so dont delay get on the ball.

Which will be ruined when some dumb customer says "OMG it wasn't new, there was no packaging, one star!" when they buy a game listed as "like new"

Yeah, but the customers rarely even leave feedback on Amazon.. I guess I cant complain I rarely get feedback on eBay anymore either... 100% and 486 sales (over 6 years) later... only 14 more ratings to my purple star.... I am pretty much done with ebay as well.
